The joint enforcement team of the Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA, on Thursday, took its massive raid exercise to major roads connecting communities along the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport road and Kaura District, Galadimawa, Abuja. The team accompanied by operatives from the police, military and paramilitary stormed and ransacked Okada operators caught while operating in the area. Eagles FM Correspondent, Toffa Momoh monitored the exercise and now brings us the details. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NzL8G7oWS3A The Ministerial Joint Enforcement Team of the Federal Capital Territory Administration today continued its clampdown exercise along the Airport road, Lugbe and Kaura District. This is as top officials of FCTA, heads and representatives of various security agencies including paramilitary organisations domiciled in the FCT observed the crushing exercise, which took place inside an open space at Galadimawa Roundabout. Areas raided include Bill Clinton interchange, Karon-Majiji, Kuchingoro, Piwoyi Junction near Shoprite mall, Lugbe FHA, popular Lugbe Car wash, Police signboard, along Airport Road, all in Abuja Municipal Area Council, AMAC, where the taskteam clampdown on some riders, who attempted to flee the scene. Explaining the exercise to newsmen, Secretary, FCT Transportation Secretariat, Peter Olujimi, reiterated that the government will not relent on the reinvigorated effort to rid the city of the menace. He warned the operators and owners of commercial motorcycles to keep off the major roads of Abuja, especially the city centres and the gateways into the FCT. Similarly, the Director, Directorate of Road Traffic Services, DRTS, Abdulateef Bello, said the exercise, which is a continuation of the signature enforcement of the ban of okada operations in the city, is a proof to its zero tolerance of the menace. According to him, their continued insistence to operate in the city is no longer a traffic offence, but a serious security breach that required the intervention of the government, hence the involvement of military and paramilitary agencies to effectively tackle the situation. Also speaking, the Senior Special Assistant to the FCT Minister on Monitoring, Inspection and Enforcement, Ikhato Attah said the choice of the location for the signature exercise was in order to send a strong signal to the perpetrators in a different direction, adding that as long as they remain recalcitrant, the FCTA remain resolute to clamp down on them. The Directorate of Road Traffic Services said about 450 motorcycles were crushed, meanwhile, a physical count revealed over two thousand motorcycles. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NzL8G7oWS3A |

KeyEndurance:Before I read some good comments, I wanted to give a negative advice but after reading some comments I will say this... Taking care of your friend is part of your responsibility as a friend (forget the new social media ideology that says otherwise) But you also have to be smart about it. What I will advise first is to stop looking at it from angry point of view but look at it from responsibility point of view But you can do pass yourself and the way country be like this, tell him that at the moment you don't have much, reduce what you have in the house, so when he comes tell him you don't have much and if he insist of food, tell him to contribute part of the money if he contributes, be increasing his contribution till it get to a stage you are conformable with. If you guys start sharing the bill, you will enjoy the friendship better (from your reply to some of the answers, the guy is not totally brok) |
