SUPERPACK:Lol. Youthful energy still dey worry you. So you'll be doing this every early morning to your wife and children? |
In response to the thread titled “Early Morning Preachers Have Made My Life Miserable” (See here: https://www.nairaland.com/4603551/early-morning-preachers-made-life), I have chosen to make this post. This is because I met the other post late and could not put the solutions in the first page where majority of the readers would see it. I have encountered these preachers on a number of occasions and have successfully halted their early morning 'cries' both in the South-East (where the OP lives) and South-South parts of the country. Here are some of your available options: 1. Meet them one-on-one/Meet their church leadership: When we had our first child, our apartment was very close to the street, and the compound was not fenced. After the days’ activities and baby keeping my wife awake late nights, 4/4:30am these people will storm our window side with megaphones abi na loudspeakers. Mehn, it was terrible. This repeated almost 5 days and I came to meet them. I explained my situation to them and they shifted reluctantly. Then another group showed up. I still had to meet them but some wicked woman among them started saying that I needed Jesus. I picked their church from the apron they wore and headed their nearest branch Sunday afternoon. After explaining to one of the pastors, he urged me to come on an official meeting day to see some senior pastor and members of council. I went and explained everything to them, clearly describing the street for them. Obviously they were reasonable and that was their end of preaching in that street until I left. 2. Liaise with the Landlords’ Association/Meet the community or traditional leader: In one of the places I lived, there were some fiery die-hard preachers that made terrible noise in the early hours. We didn’t have a newborn at that time but I detest those early morning ‘cries’ with passion. The way other people keep quiet and accept this practice in good faith baffles me. For God’s sake, how many people have ever been converted through those preaching? If you talk, people will be looking at you like you are the devil. Those of us don’t just care. So, in this case I met them as usual but on the first day they didn’t even want to hear me out. One was shouting into the megaphone on top of his voice while others murmured prayers and worship songs, not even to listen to me. Na wa o! I went again another morning, they listened to what I have to say but insisted it was God’s work and they were led by spiritual directives. There was no landlords association so I explained to my landlord and a few other tenants around. Others weren’t interested but my landlord suggested we meet the traditional ruler. To cut the long story short, the monarch reached out to them and instructed them to steer clear any streets that are uncomfortable with their early morning disturbances. I didn’t get to see them again, or any other group for that matter. 3. Go to the police: You are not getting the police to arrest them but police are the closest government you have. This option would most likely involve some money. After laying your complains, you might be asked to pay and the police would ‘work’ with some court around to serve a stay away order to the church. It is just a written paper informing the church to desist from causing public nuisance at Street A or B. Alternatively, the police could give you authorization to paint a “no preaching” sign on your fence or gates (just like the ‘beware of dogs’). This way you can always come out and warn them to desist, asking them if they can’t read the notice. These things are very easy to do. You can’t be endangering your mental and physical wellbeing because another person thinks he/she is evangelizing. Even if they come from 7 different churches, find out the churches, take time on a Sunday or when you have chance and pay visits. Or take the other options. I can guarantee you that 90% of them would shift away if you confront them personally. It is easy to stop early morning preaching around your house people, even the most stubborn ones! Restore sanity around your abode and have peace of mind. The tough one currently is having the church itself as your neighbor . . . . . . that is why while in Nigeria factors I considered when choosing a residence or land to buy included security, electricity and distance from a church.Cc: Sureboykris (the complainant poster) Lalasticlala , Sissy3 |
Moving freely in his area with rest of mind. No fear of kidnapping his parents |
Newmum0615:Sure! That your PPR, we are awaiting the announcement VERY SOON. It will shake this thread. ![]() |
jelmusboy:It's very unlikely. |
Newmum0615:This is serious. Is there any thing you think is different with your application that makes them scrutinize all these, even with your travel history? |
jelmusboy:I passed through same. I wasn't particularly happy with the new method of sending passport twice, so I queried it. After their explanations, I was still reluctant but they insisted. They only issued the visa after I had sent the passport back. However I made it clear to them that as their VAC is not in Nigeria, the risks and costs of sending passports to South Africa twice should be given consideration. |
Onyiye0691:It depends on the school. Pls do enquire from the school. I know University of Auckland requests IELTS from Nigerians if your last educational qualification was obtained over 2 years ago. Massey waived it. |
Plenty PPR. Congratulations to all recipients. @Ethelia, we are waiting for yor gist. Hehehe. |
futureenergy:Marvel's molue bus don spoil for July 3 bus-stop ![]() The kind of gullibility in majority of today's youth is alarming. If you say what they don't want to hear, they'll call you pessimist. For crying out loud, there are just a few friends that are creating different monikers here and messing with people's emotions. Many of those clever comments from mushroom 'informants' are LIES!!! They would continue to shift dates for you until the APLs come. Una bye bye o! |
Na wa o! This is terrible. Which fire service will quench this one abeg . . . it's just too much. |
Na this motor police still dey use for Kaduna state? na wa o! Maybe they covered the plate number so we won't know it's a 1993 photo snapped from an old newspaper. |
The whole thing is becoming suspicious. Why would herdsmen carry weapons, chant sai buhari, record the video and give to a Christian? I just hope some of these blood letting are not sponsored for political gains. Nigerians could be heartless and everything is possible in this directionless mad country. |
PrinzeMike:My brother, it's a competition of whose own 'one-chance' bus would have the largest number of passengers. Just package your own gist, say it with confidence, pick a date and continue shifting it accordingly. People saw sponsors collecting appointment letters, saw some letters but CANNOT say the resumption date on it. Laughable! Which one be my own? I'm not a 'mumu-hunter'. |
emelueobi:Huge congratulations! Quite fast. I guess there was no ADR. Pls do you have previous travel history, valid visas or denials? Canadian degree? |
TDultimate:You are very intelligent. |
CanadianWasp:Congratulations to you and your family! You write so beautifully. No wonder you smashed IELTS one hand. |
It's good these things are made open so that we can verify and criticize as necessary. For most of us, anything Buhari does is a sin but whatever anyone else does is waived. |
HRtechnique:Don't be too fast. Hammer2010 just repackaged his jokes under the brand name 'Marvel64'. A few guys are just creating different monikers to be messing with guys. |
Saw pages increasing and felt there could be something new but, unfortunately there is NOTHING meaningful. It is really shameful how gullible people could be. The ONLY things that matter now are: (1) Am I successful (2) When is the APL coming. Every other info is irrelevant and junk. We once had a Tamihawt. The ONLY thing that mattered then was "when will the interview come up", she told us when the interview was coming, it came and she left honourably. You see folks come now to itemize their imaginations and others would follow sheepishly. "one person per LGA. . . ", "80% on merit", "2nd week of interview . . .", "your degree and work experience . . .", "typing of APL would take 6 months (even if na blind man dey type am)" Absolute rubbish! Let me ask, pls how can you verify the percentage of merit when you resume? How does it concern me that you imagined that 10% of children of retired staff went for interview? Smartgrid came to park bus, people filled it and even climbed on top. After driving them around, I don't know where he dumped them and chickened out. Then came Fergusson with his 'damfo'. People still full. That one is still parked at June 10 bus-stop. Behold a Marvel64 showed up with fresh account and better 'molue' bus. For God's sake what is happening to peoples' IQ in this country? Na only us dey chop indomie? If you doubt me just come here and type "Thank you Jesus", and see how many PMs you'll get. Tufia! Tufiakwa again!! Meanwhile, some have already seen their names from FCC and DPR. Some codedly sent Tamihawt to find out for them. In all, hopefully we get to be notified of outcomes soon enough and those who are available would resume. Truth is, higher percentage of us would not be successful. It's not about licking "informants" back or sycophancy or liking prayers and Amen's. |
kylexy61:This explains the surge |
The only way I could understand this CRS is that it's a mistake. They wanted to write 441 and wrote 451. But even at that, any 441 in the pool by last year July would have gotten ITA several times. |
NPower is actually over 200,000 people, not 5000. |
Ok, we'll vote Buhari out and vote in 160 million people who can rule Nigeria better. Before it's too late, Nigerians better focus more energy on promoting alternative candidates rather than writing about Buhari every time. Some people make 10-20 posts a day about Buhari and no post at all about who they want to replace him. Unconsciously making him popular. |
All I can see is people preparing soft landing for themselves. The most important thing should be to get the job, not anyone's speculation coming to pass. |
Can some mod pls close this thread? What is the essence of Part 2? Just to continue typing and increasing pages where there's no new development. |
Delvindy:Yes, the requested I scan all the pages of my passport and upload to the application portal. Then afterwards, I should send the passport back to the VAC for "procedural scanning". I don't know if anyone has experienced this. They seem not to know that sending this to and fro with DHL is over 50k. |
Guys, pls what is this issue of sending back passport to Pretoria for the second time? Anybody encountered same? |
Ferguson0709:FCC doesn't need to call anyone. One or two staff in FCC will tell one or two people that they are successful. A will tell B, B will tell C, and so on. That's how it happens all the time. You're free to stand with any date you choose. Nobody is pulling you away from where you stand. We'll see, we'll know. |
neverdown999:There is no special info in these 11 points. Anybody that doesn't know Nos 1-8 is just a loafer. These are known even before the test. Nos 9 - 11 are not anyone's business. For those dragging whether list is in FCC or not, note this: any time the list reaches FCC you would know and at least 15% of those here would be able to check if their names are there or not. It is usually not a secret. |
ploff:With the stats, I doubt if cut off could go below 440 today. |
@DMainMan Thanks for taking time to write. it captures a lot. There are some things that happened last year with the scholars. They transferred some scholarships to US, Australia and New Zealand. Although it's unlikely this year, what could have motivated such decisions? |
