Obanliku LGA chairman, Hon. Margaret Inde empowers youths with a yam, cutlass and hoe
The Executive chairman of Obanliku Local Government Area in Cross River State, Hon. Mrs. Margaret Inde has empowered her youths with a yam, cutlass and a hoe in celebration of Obanliku at 30 and the 2021 New Yam Festival, WonderTV Media reports.
Speaking at the occasion, the chairman recognises the past leaders and founding fathers of Obanliku and the sacrifices they made for the growth of the local government.
She also urges the inhabitants of Obanliku local government area to increase their commitment to the security of life and property at every time.
“Fellow Obanliku people, On behalf of myself and the executive council, I wish to Congratulate all of us on the historic 30 years of existence as a Local Government.
Also as we celebrate our new yam festival signaling the end of hunger in our traditional calendar, I bring you warm greetings and candidly commend your individual and collective hard work at ensuring food security in the entire area.
30 years ago, our local government I mean our fatherland – this beautiful land with different faces of natural endowments especially its geographical landscape spread across the political wards became a reality on August 27 1991, through a proclamation by then Military President General Ibrahim Babangida.
I wish to proceed with my speech by making reference to the Almighty as encapsulated in Psalm 125, ” What marvels the Lord worked for us, indeed we were glad, for it was like a dream” We rejoiced, we danced and our joy knew no bounds.
Beloved of God, exactly Thirty years after our creation, I am here before you on behalf of the solid and sincere conscience of the Obanliku people dead and alive, born and unborn come before you first as a responsibility on our part as a council to reflect on how far we have come and as well as to harp on the need for us to remain united as we work together to chart a new course to move forward to where it should be characterized by a strong, united, developed and community promoting equal oppurtunity for all.
As we rejoice on this day , permit me to pay tribute to our past leaders and founding fathers who in the last 30years have made huge sacrifices in leadership and many areas which enhanced the recorded our collective achievements. Their commitments have contributed to what we call Obanliku today. I therefore sincerely thank them for their services and pray God to bless them abundantly. This appreciation also extends to the successive local government administrations for their laudable initiative for sustaining the tempo of development.
As the current executive Chairman, this occasion provides me with a great platform to tell you how we have fared with the mandate you gave us but first, I want to remind us of the economic situation of Local Governments in the country with very little resources available to run a government closest to the people.
When we assumed office, with the resources available to us, we undertook the renovation and furnishing of the Secretariat. We also renovated and furnished the legislative chambers of the council.
Moreso, we have set in motion the discussion for the overall development of our LGA. This include the inauguration of a high Powered Committee for the development of an Obanliku new City. Inspite of the lean resources, we were also able to participate actively and supported the Obanliku stakeholders’ conference held in June on June 14 -15, 2021 during which robust discussions aimed at fastracking the development of our dear Local Government took the center stage. The outcome of the conference has already kick started the implementation of the resolutions. The Council under my watch recognizes peace and security as pivotal to the growth of the LGA.
In our time in office, we have made this critical sector a priority through regular meetings with security heads and traditional rulers council. I again urge us today to increase our commitment to the security of life and property at every time. In the area of cultural preservation, we have given all the support to our traditional institutions and leaders and we will continue to do so. Our new yam festival which we celebrate today is testament to this fact.
Fellow Obanliku people, Let me reiterate the point that to truly grow, we need to unite. We need to solidify our strength which is our people who remain our greatest asset.
The spirit of hardwork and excellence passed down to us by our forefathers should continue to burn in us. Our youths must rise to the occasion of community building even as I congratulate them on nation building. From Bendi to Becheve, from Bishiri to Utanga, from Basang to Bisu, from Busi to Bebi, Obanliku is one.
In conclusion, as earlier I mentioned ,we must pause and take assessment of the progress we have made and the way forward so that together, we can build an Obanliku we can all be proud of. Thank you and remain blessed.” her speech reads.
Omihanifa: Hours after actors Laide Bakare and Kemi Afolabi mocked each other on Instagram, It has now been alleged that the reason for their fight is over younger actor, Gida.
Kemi Afolabi and Laide Bakare used to be one of the strongest bond in the movie industry as they always like putting on same outfits, going to parties and doing almost everything together, they often call each other “my twinee” whenever they put up PDAs on their Instagram pages.
Things have however gone sour between them.
Kemi Filani recalls that on Friday, August 27, Kemi Afolabi ranted on Instagram about her twinnie turned enemy as she described her as being delusional, crazy and an attention seeker.
Kemi Afolabi wrote: “Fine girl kemo, delusional low self esteem attention seeker say na she give me stardom werey Alaso….Ta lo ni Twinnie isonu! Yinmu Se Kemi ALAGBARA wa kere ni? TGIF..wey dem? Dem no reach”
And in response, Nollywood actress, Laide Bakare wrote “No matter what hatters say or do. Can never ever reach ME, Abi eleyi Fe Te ni ? Who you be? #laidebakare is your forefather MOTHER, I’m too Big for some kin nonsense, miss wereyy. Who be your Twinee?? Alaye baje … You wey be like Man!!!!”
Well, it has now been alleged that the reason why the former besties are at war is because of their younger colleague and actor, Dauda Sulaimon a.k.a Gida.
According to Gist Lover, Kemi Afolabi who has a daughter, doesn’t joke with her younger colleague and sugar boy, Gida, despite him being married with kids. She fights any other woman that he tries to get involved with, hence the reason for her fall out with Laide Bakare who has recently become close with Gida.
“See this guy wey cause fight between the Twinnie Oran,we go soon cut him prick,Kemi sha no like make any woman dey near this guy, whereas guy is married with kids o,with him jingle bell gbola, doing gbola give away up and down…if I no cut your prick call me bast*rd,shebi na because you get prick you dey cause fight,World pipu come out o,Gida don use Adodun(S*x Sweetner)for Kemi o……i come in peace” the blogger wrote.
Kemi Filani News recalls that Kemi Afolabi got into a fight with one Gloria Johnson over actor, Dauda Sulaimon a.k.a Gida, in 2020. The rumored affair between the actors leaked after Kemi Afolabi cried out over receiving death threats from the Gloria Johnson. She also allegedly fought with one actress Amatachi Igwe over the same young actor Gida.
When Kemi Afolabi had her house warming party in January, 2021, her husband wasn’t present, featured or mentioned in her public appreciation to those who stood by her. Even thought the actress cleared the air in 2020 that her marriage to her husband hasn’t crashed, with the actress building a house, which she claims to be her own, many are asking the question, where is Kemi Afolabi’s husband? Have they separated as insinuated? How come she is moving into a house she built without her husband in the picture?
The Chief Imam of Apo Legislative Quarters Mosque, Sheikh Nuru Khalid, has lambasted the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), for allowing bandits to control a part of Nigeria.
In a viral video, the cleric slammed the president for his failure to tackle banditry in the country while addressing worshippers during his Friday sermon.
The Imam swore that Allah (God) will deal with Buhari if he doesn’t return Nigeria “united and without bandits”.
Nigeria’s North-West and central states have been caught up in a surge in violence from heavily armed bandits who loot villages, steal cattle and carry out mass kidnappings.
The violence has its roots in years-long tensions and tit-for-tat raids between farmers and nomadic herders over grazing land and water resources.
But bandit attacks worsened since the criminal gangs emerged under Buhari’s regime. Most of them are based in vast forests across Kaduna, Katsina, Niger, and Zamfara states.
The Imam, who spoke in Hausa, was quoted as saying, “Go and tell the president that under his government some group of people are issuing threats to local communities, demanding that they be paid some amounts of money or face attack.
“And they would gather the money and announce publicly on the BBC that they (bandits) would be paid this Friday [to avoid attack].
“Tell the president that there is a country we pay allegiance to, and there is a part of the country we do not know, which is governed by bandits.
“The president should either return the country as one nation where bandits are not killing people anyhow — just the way he took over, or Allah (God) will deal with him.
“This is the message. I’m saying this in an open forum, and it is live-streamed for the world to see. I take responsibility for my words, and I’m ready to face whatever consequences for preaching peace and unity of Nigeria.
“Mr President, we don’t want to hear the reports of killing of people under your watch. We don’t want to hear reports of cowardice among our soldiers, such that they are attacked at their base.
“We have a video where you said Nigerian soldiers had the patriotism, training, discipline to tackle all manner of criminality in the country. You said if you were elected, you will give them the required support to tackle insurgency in a short period of time.
“Your Excellency, a promise made is a promise kept. If you lack the advisers to remind you about this, we are ready to tell you. We are praying to God to help you fulfil this promise if really you are willing.”

I helped General Buhari to become the President by voting for him. Now see the trouble I've landed.
I have to change my cream due to cost. Garri a paint container is now N1600. Rice that used to be N1400 is now N2200.
Beans that was N700 is now N2500.
Come 2023 if no woman contest, I will burn my PVC.
So yesterday I was gisting with my friend then the issue of rape came in.
I asked my friend, why do men rape? My friend told me "Sarah, there are so many reasons men rape. The major reason is idleness. Once a man is idleness his mind is open to accommodate many thoughts plus thought of rape. Mostly the poor rape."
I took a deep breath and replied. "The rich and hardworking men also rape. What could be their reason(s)?"
"Sarah abeg leave me joor. You and rape."
My conclusion is, men regardless their class, race or financial status, they all rape.
A Man City footballer is currently facing trial for rape.
Top rich men rape. The poor men rape.
Best bet is to keep a girl child away from the male folks.

“A Christian woman who likes wearing high heel shoes is married to the world” – Evangelist Gideon Akande
An Abuja based evangelist, Evg. Gideon Akande took to social media to advise Christian women against wearing high heel shoes, WonderTV Media reports.
According to the Evangelist, a Christian woman who wears such shoes belongs to the world. His post which was attached with a photo of a red high heel shoes reads:
“A Christian woman who like wearing high heel shoes is married to the world; she may be in the church, but her soul is in the world. You will NEVER see a godly, chaste and modest Christian lady wearing high heel shoe.”
He also advises Christian men against certain haircuts which he referred to as ‘devilish’. He posted a photo of a haircut followed by his words of advice which says;
“I repeat, no genuine child of God will comfortably put this devilish haircut on his head. The gods of this world has blinded them until they wake up into eternity with no room for repentance. NOTE: This warning is not for the world or the wayward Christians but for the remnant elects.”
A pastor, Pastor Kelvin O. Sunday took to the comment section of the post to affirm with the Evangelist’s post. Drawing his point from 1 John 2:15-16, Pastor Sunday said that such haircut is called ‘worldliness’ and it is for canal beautification and is not good for a genuine child of God.
Pastor Sunday’s post reads:
“For clearer understanding for those who care to take heed for eternity sake, Is called worldliness and his lust, its for canal beautification and his attractions that is why is not good for a genuine child of God that has heaven in view to desire it or cut them. 1john 2:15-16, James 4:4, it does not mean that a child of God can not have a hair cut, or a simple one like low cut without worldly styles. We are not to copy the world or the way they do things period.”
Idiot, why should I take down my post for calling out how women have no place in society leadership? Until women begin to build civilizations, expand empires and develop cultures then they have no place in the decision making of any society.
The suffrage movement was the biggest mistake the west ever made and it is haunting them till this day.
AntiBalaka: If not for gallant officers like the one in the article, every flaming liberal feminist in the west would have been wearing a burqa and condemned to the oza room and kitchen where they belong.
It is for this reason I tend to like the Taliban since they are doing the right thing when it comes to caging you feral bitches.
But why are male leaders always afraid of critics?
Over here Buhari is arresting every person that speaks up against his evil govt.
Marine battalion commander relieved of duty for calling out his superiors over Kabul attack, WonderTV Media reports.
A marine battalion commander, Lieutenant Colonel Stuart Scheller was relieved of his duties on Friday 27th August, 2021 after publicly demanding leadership take accountability for the deadly disaster in Afghanistan.
In a video posted on Facebook by Lt.Col Scheller with the caption: “To the American leadership. Very Respectfully, US”, the marine commander called out Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley and others for not ‘raising their hands and accepting accountability or saying, “We messed this up.”‘
‘The reason people are so upset on social media right now is not because the Marine on the battlefield let someone down,’ Scheller said in a nearly five-minute video he posted on Facebook. ‘People are upset because their senior leaders let them down. And none of them are raising their hands and accepting accountability or saying, “We messed this up.”‘
In the video, he said he knew he was risking his stellar 17-year career that included tours in Iraq and Afghanistan by posting the video, but he still ran head-on into metaphorical gunfire. ‘I have been fighting for 17 years. I am willing to throw it all away to say to my senior leaders, “I demand accountability.”‘
‘I think what you believe in can only be defined by what you’re willing to risk,’ he said. So, I think it gives me some moral high ground to demand the same honesty, integrity, accountability from my senior leaders.’
Lt. Col. Scheller said he had a personal relationship with one of the Marines who died in Thursday’s ISIS-K bombing and ‘potentially, all those people did die in vain’ if the leaders don’t take ownership of the debacle.
The marine battalion commander who was relieved of his duty for warning superiors over the Afghanistan exit strategy says he will bring ‘accountability’ and that the military ‘needs a revolution.’
In a follow up post to the video, Lt.Col Scheller revealed that he was relieved of his duty. “To all my friends across the social networks. I have been relieved for cause based on a lack of trust and confidence as of 14:30 today. My chain of command is doing exactly what I would do… if I were in their shoes. I appreciate the opportunities AITB command provided. To all the news agencies asking for interviews… I will not be making any statements other than what’s on my social platforms until I exit the Marine Corps. America has many issues… but it’s my home… it’s where my three sons will become men. America is still the light shining in a fog of chaos. When my Marine Corps career comes to an end, I look forward to a new beginning. My life’s purpose is to make America the most lethal and effective foreign diplomacy instrument. While my days of hand to hand violence may be ending…I see a new light on the horizon. Semper”
He claimed in another Facebook post that some of his fellow officers have urged him to take down the video despite agreeing with him. . "I can’t possibly respond to the overwhelming response. Facebook has stopped allowing me to accept friend requests. But I’ll offer you one more thought… Last night when I posted the video I immediately had multiple Marines call and ask me to take down the post. “We all agree with you Stu, but nothing will change, and it will come at a huge personal cost to you.” Obviously I didn’t take it down. Now that I’ve had time to process… I’ll offer this… we can’t ALL be wrong. If you all agree… then step up. They only have the power because we allow it. What if we all demanded accountability? “Every generation needs a revolution” Thomas Jefferson”
