Nigerian actor and model, Alexx Ekubo, has been honoured with a Doctorate degree in Arts and Culture from a university in the Republic of Benin, WonderTV Media reports.
Alexx took to social media to thank the institution for honouring him with a Doctorate degree.
His appreciative message was followed by a photo of himself in the a ceremonial gown of the institution.
The message reads:
"Introducing, Dr Alexx Ekubo
Thanks to the governing council of the Institut Supérieur de Communication et de Geston (ISCG UNIVERSITY) for conferring on me Doctorate (Honorary) Degree in Arts & Culture."

Every year in the universities more than enough qualified students for medicine are forced into other departments because the quota for medicine is 150 at max. You'll see people with hyper impressive grades forced into other departments.. It won't take much for the FG to invest in the medical sector and improve the quota of every universities to 500. That way we'll have much more exports and also more private hospitals at lesser rates.

Ex-Big Brother Naija Season 5 housemate, Tolanibaj, is of the opinion that a man should not ask for a lady’s phone number if he allows her to pay for her groceries, WonderTV Media reports.
The former housemate disclosed this on social media in one of her posts.
The post reads:
“If you’re going to watch a babe pay for her groceries, what makes you think you deserve to ask for her number right after she walks out the store?”
Tolanibaj whose real name is Tolani Shobajo is a 27-year-old media personality and reality TV star, “Big Brother Naija Season 5” housemate. She hails from Lagos state, Nigeria.
A middle-aged man identified as David Akpokpokpo has been arrested by a vigilante group for allegedly raping and impregnating his teenage daughter in Amukpe area of Sapele, Delta State.
It was gathered that the suspect had carnal knowledge of his daughter, Mercy Akpokpokpo, which resulted in pregnancy and birth of a three month old baby.
According to reports, the suspect threatened to kill his daughter if she opened up to anyone. However, when she could no longer bear it, she reported to the vigilante group in Amukpe on Friday, August 27.
During interrogation, the man claimed to have slept with his daughter only once under the influence of alcohol but the victim countered him, saying that her father raped her four times.
The suspect also admitted being the father of the child.

lonelydora: I was running late for a meeting this morning at Oyigbo in Rivers State. Because of the bad nature of the road to Oyibo,i decided to join to a commercial bus.
I was already on call before the C4i checkpoint after toll gate. All of a sudden i was hearing some banging on the bus, and the policeman shouting "Driver Clear Well"
I didn't even i know i was the reason for the parking until some passengers told me to end the call. I asked why, they said we were being parked because i making call. See me see trouble ooo. I told them i cannot cut on the person calling me. Na so, i finish my call jejely.
After a while the policeman came and said i should come down, that i should handover my phone to him. First word that came out of my mouth was "It's my personal property and he has no right to cease my phone" Na so fear catch am.
He went to call their commander, and the man came and said i should identify myself. I told him I'm a Nigerian. He asked why i was i making calls? I told him i didn't know it was offence to make calls at police checkpoints.
He said i was proving stubborn. How nah? Before i could say a word, one of them gave me a slap (E hot shaa) from behind and dragged me to their small office. I swear i wanted to react but held myself, and told him i am leaving him because he's on uniform. He was wearing jacket which covered his name and his number. I was trying to get his name, and he noticed and buttoned the jacket.
The commander finally came and said i should give him my phone. I told him i have to lock the phone first because of the confidential stuffs i have. He agreed and allowed me to lock the phone. I pleaded to make a call or send a text, he said if i try it, that he will shoot me. Omo, na there i come calm down before my sad story will grace front page on Nairaland. Someone (who i suspect to be a military officer on mufti) i didn't even know stopped and demanded to know what was my offence. He told them he saw the way i was being dragged and that i look so gentle.
Las Las, he pleaded on my behalf and asked the commander to give me my phone back. The man gave me a lift to Oyigbo and said next time, i should just say "Sorry" and move on.

Organisers suspend Saudi Arabia recruitment as DSS disperses doctors, arrests journalist
Operatives of the Department of State Services, on Thursday, dispersed medical doctors, who stormed the Sheraton Hotels, Abuja, to take part in the recruitment interview organised by the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Health.
The PUNCH had on Tuesday reported that medical consultants in their hundreds flooded the Ladi Kwali Hall of the hotel to participate in the recruitment, while another exercise was scheduled for Thursday.
Our correspondents gathered that the DSS operatives stormed the hotel on Thursday morning and dispersed the doctors and journalists, who gathered at the venue.
A journalist with the International Centre for Investigative Reporting, Marcus Fatunde, was arrested at the venue.
Fatunde was, however, released later.
An eyewitness told The PUNCH, “When I came here, we saw the DSS operatives dispersing the people that came for the interview and before we knew it, everywhere had been scattered.
“A journalist with the ICIR, Marcus Fatunde, was also arrested, but he has been released.”
A doctor, who did not want his name in print said, “Some of us, who came here today, came because we don’t even have jobs and we don’t want to do the wrong things.
“Two categories of people were here today: the jobless ones and the ones who are poorly remunerated.
“We didn’t commit any crime; we just wanted a better system. So, why is the government trying to frustrate us?
The Vice-President, Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors, Adejo Arome, told The PUNCH that the organisers of the interview confirmed to him that the exercise had been suspended.
He said, “Well, some people got to the venue today (Thursday) and when they didn’t meet anyone, they called me and I confirmed from the recruiters and some other doctors that the recruitment has been suspended.
“The recruitment on Tuesday garnered coverage, because of the media publicity. It was everywhere that doctors were going to Saudi Arabia.
“The recruiters had to suspend it because the Federal Government said it felt embarrassed by the news.
“It is a big shame. The government has no right to infringe on the right of the citizens to choose to go to another country. If the system is not working, let them go to another country.”
Efforts made to get the reaction of the spokesman for the DSS, Peter Afunanya, did not yield positive results as of the time of filing this report as he did not take his calls and had yet to respond to a message sent to his mobile telephone.

Woman who ended her marriage with prophet after he refused to sponsor her education explains what transpired
Happiness Nwakanma, the woman who married a pastor she met on Facebook without dating him, has spoken to dispute the claims made by her estranged husband.
Happiness said her wedding to Divine Okoh took place less than a month after they met on Facebook and the marriage ended after only two months plus, not three months as claimed.
She admitted that she met Prophet Divine Okoh on Facebook on March 29, 2021, in the comment section of a post.
The post had been about a man who married a woman only 8 months after they met. Happiness said she commented that her own wedding will happen just one month after she meets her man.
She said the prophet sent her an inbox message on March 30, asking if she was serious about marrying immediately and she replied in the affirmative.
The following day, March 31, on his invitation, she told LIB that she left Port Harcourt for Agbor in Delta state to visit him. She slept over that night in his one-room accommodation and the following day, she told him everything about herself.
She said she told him she's a single mother who got pregnant while in SS1 and that her parents are separated.
He insisted he wants to marry her and, to show how serious he was, he asked for either of her parents' account numbers to send money and she gave him her mother's.
She explained that when she got home, her mother insisted she dates the prophet first and this led to a fight that attracted neighbours as she accused her mum of not wanting her to get married.
She denied Prophet Divine's claim that she was the one who forced him to get married right away by claiming her family doesn't allow dating (read here).
She explained that he was the one insisting he's a pastor and doesn't date.
She also disputed the claim made by the Prophet that her mother told him to come and see them alone, without his family.
Happiness said it was the other way round. She said her family invited him to come and see them to collect the list but he came alone. When they asked why, he claimed his family are evil and never supported him.
Happiness said her family then told the Prophet that she is a student and if he's not ready to sponsor her education, he should go and return when she's done with schooling to marry her.
She said he insisted he wanted to marry her right away and will send her to school, so the wedding took place.
However, she said that after the marriage, she began noticing things he had hidden from her, including lying about his father.
She explained that it was only when her mother, who visited Delta state for her wedding, insisted she won't leave without seeing her in-laws, that Divine took them to see his father who was bedridden with stroke.
She said he had hidden that from them and no single member of his family was at their wedding.
She added that Divine also did strange things.
She told LIB: "Do you know I've never seen his unclothedness for once? If he wants to have sex, it's only at night, in the dark, and he'll just shift his boxers to one side. If he wants to bathe, he'll go into the bathroom clothed and come out clothed...
"I never one day see how my husband dick look like."
Divine said when it was time for her to resume school and she told him, he tried to wiggle out of sponsoring her education and told her to meet her family to sponsor her.
From then on, she said he began verbally abusing her, telling her that he made a mistake marrying a single mother when there are many available single women without kids.
Explaining how they separated, she said she was visiting her family in PH when the prophet invited her family to visit his church in Delta for a meeting.
Unknown to them, he had members waiting with weapons. On getting there with her mother, two uncles, and her brother on July 25, she said they were brutally attacked by members who accused her and her family of scamming their pastor. The attack left her mother bleeding profusely and her uncle had to be admitted to the hospital.
When she got home, she said the prophet threw her out without most of her belongings and she returned to Port Harcourt with her family. She said he's been threatening her life and that of her family since then and has also been tarnishing her image. Advising single mothers, Happiness said: "Instead of you to marry a prophet, I'll advice you marry a native doctor... Divine is a fake prophet."
She added: "Everything I say, I swear with my womb, it's the truth."
