"NOTIFICATION ON THE RELEASE OF OANDO PLC’s 2015 AUDITED FINANCIAL STATEMENTS The Management of Oando PLC would like to advise our valued shareholders, key stakeholders, and wider investor community that from available indications we are unlikely to complete our 2015 audit and issue our audited accounts on 31 March, 2016, as required by The NSE Rules (the Rules). We have worked diligently with our external auditor, Ernst & Young (“EY”) to ensure a swift conclusion to the audit process. However, after reviewing the financials, EY indicated that the Accounts may likely need to be referred to the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria (“FRC”) pursuant to Rule 5 of the recently publicised FRC Rules. We expect the process to be concluded on or before 31 May, 2016, however this is dependent on the completion of the external review process as referred to above. The company’s management would also like to bring to the attention of its shareholders and the investor community that the accounts of the company at FYE 2015 will be in line with its Q3 2015 performance. The expected decline is attributable to the industry’s downturn, prevalent economic headwinds, as well as fiscal and monetary restrictions driven by a challenging macro environment. While we are actively restructuring the business to adapt to this difficult period, we are optimistic and steadfast in our commitment to return to profitability in 2016. donmarshia: Truth is, you can't predict the market. Before, we have had seasons when immediately after ex div (Mark down), prices recovered same day. So capital was preserved why dividend was earned.
I feel an increase in short termers in the market is affecting us. If we still had huge impact from Foreign investments, which most times are long termers, they would not be thinking of playing short term. A typical huge fund manager buys in, earns a div yield of 11-12% which is cool, waits close to one year to review if the investment should be disposed of, expecting that at least capital should be preserved within the period. So in essence you have more buyers before dividend mark down date and less sellers immediately after.
We just need to understand the times and play. Sure . the economy desperately needs a more flexible exchange mechanism |

22 Bad Trading Habits What is one of your bad trading habits that causes you to lose money? 1)Underestimating the possibility of volatility expansion at times and taking too big a position size. 2)Overly optimistic that the market will trend well… only to reverse. 3)Averaging in on losing positions. 4)Not studying more. 5)Not following the trend and trying to predict the top or bottom. 6)Following other’s trades. 7)Deviating from positive expectancy models. “Fighting” back instead of taking the loss/killing a bad trade (bad trade = against the plan)… 9)Trading too large for my account size. 10)Overtrading. 11)Starting the day “looking” for something to trade like a trading addict. 12)Wishful thinking for big profits. 13)Taking trades that aren’t “my” trades. 14)Focusing on returns instead of risk-adjusted returns. 15)Closing trades too soon. 16)Not being consistent in daily activity but being inconsistent is not something I do consistently. 17)Going all in. 18)Probably tweaking my strategy too much during drawdowns. 19)Moving my stop up too quickly. 20)Not being patient. 21)Feeling like I have to do something. 22)All of the above. culled: http://www.newtraderu.com/2016/03/29/20-bad-trading-habits/Disclosure: Thot to share , I'm guilty of many here. |

Manonamission: Notin o ji e. Same thing wrong with UBA, Afriprud, GT and what will befall UCAP after markdown. Investors often sell off after qualifying for dividends.
Market trend can reverse anytime though. best to sell before closure for short term players ! IMO (cash in 10 - 20% after fees) else its a liquidity trap cause of d rush for the exit pre closure date & post closure. your patience will be tested with capital tied up pending supposed div payments we keep learning |

ORAGBON: Good morning dear friends, I need your help as always. I have unclaimed dividend with Cardinal Stone Registrars, income from NAHCO PLC I bought last year. I called them(Cardinal Stone) after filling the e-dividend mandate form and getting all the necessary things done with my bank, but was asked to get a banker's confirmation along with it. I did all that and took it myself to their office at Yaba. I was told my account will be credited in three weeks after due confirmation. I later received the dividend warrants via Cardinal Stone dispatch two weeks after I visited them. i lodged the cheque into my bank account only to discover it's a stale cheque. I called them up, but was asked to write a letter instructing them to credit my account(which they should have done instead of sending a cheque). I have done that and sent to them but was told on phone when i called to confirm receipt, that it going to take them another six week before my account will be credited, because they have to do another confirmation. Does it take this long for dividend to be credited to one's account? I need your candid advice sadly yes ! Some registrars are more efficient than others. |
