I hated watching the "Surge" as it's a useless movie. Perhaps I lost the plot or what exactly it should be about but it seemed the dude wanted to rearrange his borish lifestyle but nevertheless it's a waste of a movie.
Feudalism, fealty, religion, monarchy, chastity, marital arrangements, knighthood, honor: all you need to know about the dark ages and medieval Europe is here. It totally encapsulates the essence of that time period.
I'm honestly indifferent about the plot, but as a better option to a 300 page textbook in a library on its subject history, this film shines. It should be on repeat in history classes.
Not surprised though, it's just a case of Ridley Scott doing what he knows best - again. Most people seem to forget we had Kingdom of Heaven in 2005 on same subject matter.
