Gombe with less than a quarter of Kano's revenue is planning to educate 500,000 almajiris. This cow has no plan to educate, only repriatration. His predecessor, Kwankwaso educated 1000s of people up to 1st degree, masters and PhD level, home and abroad in different fields. You can't give what you don't have. |

eduman365: Should we be giving out what we don't have enough in the first place?
It might interest you to know that Nigeria has been the one shouldering the burden of the entire West Africa when we should be focusing on ourselves. Even Ghana's electricity is powered by Nigeria's gas. If something happens to the West African Gas pipeline powered by Nigeria, light drops significantly in Ghana.
The earlier we started redirecting our resources inwards the better for us. When we get it right, then we can start exporting energy again. lol we are not doing it out of charity. These countries pay forex at world prices for our power supply, that's why they get better services. It is the money they pay that sustains the sector. We pay a lot less at home due to regulation. The only solution to the power problem in Nigeria is letting suppliers charge competitive rates (about $0.15 per kwh, or N55 per kwh). At these rates, big players can collect loans from foreign banks and invest in the sector, making it bigger than govt ever can. We currently pay N27 per kwh, so govt subsidies the sector to keep it afloat. |

Christianity Etc › Re: Rulling On Masturbation 2: The Stand Of The Catholic Church by gabe: 10:18pm On Mar 31, 2019 |
See the plenty English on top a completely natural human activity. All religious bodies aim to control their members, and a key weapon in their arsenal is guilt. Over 90% of ALL MEN masturbate. It is a harmless way of relieving sexual tension, like urinating. You don't become infertile by masturbating as your testes produce sperm cells EVERYDAY. By making masturbation, an activity regularly performed by many people, a 'mortal sin' the church typically tries to guilt as many men and women as possible into submission. |

Politics › Re: We Weren't Elected Just To Pay Salaries - Nigerian Governors On Minimum Wage by gabe: 10:19pm On Aug 16, 2018 |
SolutionMee: Reasonable points up there
Most civil servants in Nigeria are too dependent on either their state/federal government
Work ethics shouldn't be like that
People should be exposed that they have to make alternative income
Which in the long run will prevent them from being too dependent on their salary
They can venture into farming, snail breeding, cattle rearing, food hawking and so on
Laziness is when you depend on a single source of income
Laziness is when you depend on your salary alone
It's aftereffect was what makes people to clamor for change and increments of salary
The Governors are trying cuz even when I was the class representative of my class in Harvard University, it wasn't easy controlling the affairs of students in my class. I ended up spending several fees that was meant for my fellow students. And for these Governors to be paying their state workers, they are trying and I really commend them on that.
With the present economic meltdown that recently befell Nigeria, I wasn't expecting the federal government to be discussing about minimum wage
And that's if the workers are even competent enough to deserve one All government workers are expected to resume work by 8am and close by 4pm. For 30 years. Where do you fit in a business? Also, note that it is illegal for any civil servant to run another business apart from his official duties. Only other activity allowed is farming. |
