She is indeed a mother to be celebrated. She has stood by her family through thick and thin, especially when 2baba's father became blind late in life and she cared for his every need till death. Even today, she doesn't fold her hands and wait for 2baba's money. She is a vice principal at a high brow secondary school in abuja. Well done ma.

na wa o. how did you end up spending N100k on a plot of land? My guess is you paid heavily to lease the land because ugu seeds, ploughing, weeding and fertilizer shouldn't cost you that much. All the same, I commend your efforts and I believe you are poised to do better next time due to your experience. Kudos to you and all new farmers. Thanks for your bravery.

So many educated illiterates on Nairaland.

DISCOS do not generate electricity .Blame your epileptic power supply on your FG!
GENCOS are private entities. they were all sold under GEJ. They don't generate partly because politicians are using 'avengers' to burst gas pipelines. Also they are playing tom and Jerry with DISCOs and gas suppliers (NLNG). NLNG insists of selling gas to gencos for dollars. I really don't understand why NLNG, a Nigerian company is selling gas to Nigerian discos in dollars. gencos collect money from discos in naira. discos are complaining customers are not paying enough. gencos are complaining discos are not paying enough for them to buy gas and handle overhead. NLNG is complaining gencos don't pay their gas bills. Sometimes, this complaints can mean non generation of power.

Has anyone experienced such? Them no even gree say prepaid meters dey.
their billing system is just crazy. They just type anything that comes to their head. I once didn't have power in Owerri for 3 months and I was sent bills throughout. Ask them for prepaid they will be looking at you like you asked for american visa

Family / Re: My Sister Is Cheating On Her Husband For Not Supporting Her Financially by gabe: 6:54am On Oct 25, 2017
Melodyz:
It's a very long story but let me cut it short

Back in my secondary days my sister got married to a man from Imo state, within two years they gave birth to two beautiful daughters (twins), few months after giving birth the husband was diagnosed with eye cancer, which after much treatment he passed away.

The families of the man refused my sister of everything, they went as far as telling her to go away with the kids, that they are evil, that they want nothing to do with her and the children. So she came back home, my parents tried everything possible to resolve the issue but to no avail, so we accepted the kids as ours, they even started bearing our last name.

Few years later a man asked for my sister's hand in marriage, like two to three years into the marriage she gave birth to a boy and a girl, by then I was already schooling in UNN and I normally don't travel back home constantly. She calls at times to ask how I was doing and sometimes complains of how her husband doesn't bring money for anything in the house, that she is the one that pays for everything concerning the kids schooling, that she can count the number of times her husband brings money for paying of rent and for feeding.

She reported him to his people but nothing was done, after much complaining she said she's not interested in the marriage anymore, some of our family members advise her not to leave the marriage that is not right via her being married before, but she refused, that she can't be the man in the house by taking care of everything that they (the husband and her) should be doing together. So she went ahead to rent her own apartment and brought along her the two kids, few months after moving out her husband was evicted for failing to pay his rent.

I graduated this year and decided to go visit her and from there find something doing before I leave for service, on my reaching there I asked her what is happening via her marriage, she told me that since she moved here her husband has never for once asked of the kids, even to send money for their upkeep he has not done it, so out of anger he sent his son to him as he is the eldest, to take care of him.

Since I got to her house there is this guy that visits her and calls her constantly, she even visits him almost if not every night.

I want to talk to her about it, so everyone in the house please what can I do? Should I stay mute or not? If not, what should I tell her?
How is that cheating? WETIN CONCERN YOU?
Family / Re: I Beat My Wife. What Would You Have Done Differently In My Situation? by gabe: 6:31pm On Oct 24, 2017
Patriarchy is killing us. Your wife is molesting you, but you feel like as the man, it's your job to keep her under control and so you are ready to endure all suffering while you figure out how to control her. Yes, women can domestically abuse men the way men do. Shame is not allowing many speak up and they have been suffering in silence. I'm trying to imagine the strength it took you to write this. My friend, step one, talk to your wife. If no positive results, report to her parents or pastor. If no change, please don't listen to any bear your cross crap. Separate from her. Unless you want to wait until she stabs you at night while you are asleep.

Properties / Re: Where Should A Man Build A House First: Village Or Township? by gabe: 10:02pm On Oct 22, 2017
With the high rate of rents in towns, it makes more sense to build in town before village. In many towns/ cities in Nigeria, a 2 bedroom flat goes for at least N250,000. Of course it's a lot more in Lagos and Abuja. In fact, if you know Abuja, you know if you have a house there 50% of your problems are solved. Your first task in any town in which you'll be staying for the foreseeable future is to start hunting for affordable land in a good neighbourhood to build. Your village house can always come later.

wow so what happens to families of those who died with their money in bank yet to be claimed by their respective families , any way hank God this is happening before this present generation tht seems to have forgotten about the past 20 pounds policy. Nigeria will alway be Nigeria , how come foreign banks dont implement this kind of policies
If someone with money in the bank dies, his next of kin can get letters of administration from a court in less than a week to claim money in such accounts. Simple

I'm seeing very vacuous arguments against the move. Anyone in Nigeria without a BVN linked to his/her account at this time after about 2-3 years of announcements, adverts and deadlines is DEFINITELY hiding something. Even old people in the village came out to queue when I did my BVN. We have heard stories of how banks help corrupt govt officials launder funds. No way they are linking accounts like that to BVN. One investigation in benue state revealed the ex governor Suswam parked about N18 billion in a first bank account. Till tomorrow, nothing has been done about that money. Kudos to the FG. This move is long overdue.

Checkout any phone with these specs: 4gb RAM 64gbROM minimum of 3gb, 32gb rom, u may compromise for a snapdragon device. cameras more than or at least 13mp, battery 4000mah or more, minimum of 1.5ghz processor (preferably snapdragon). These should be your minimum requirements. Forget brand names and search well.

I think this guy is the type that refuses to pay his share of nepa bill in the compound. Its just wrong to refuse to pay your share while buying fuel privately. Though extreme, i support the girl if this is actually the case.
