Hull City manager Phil Brown's days at the KC Stadium seem to be over after the Tigers confirmed that he has been "relieved of duties" at the club.

The manager has been placed on 'gardening leave', meaning that he cannot work for anyone else.

"Hull City AFC confirms that Phil Brown has been relieved of his managerial duties at the club and has been placed on gardening leave with immediate effect," chairman Adam Pearson told City's official website.

"Brian Horton and Steve Parkin will take charge of first-team duties until further notice.

"We would like to place on record our sincere thanks to Phil for the major success achieved during a period of four seasons in charge at the club and wish him every success for the future.

"Promotion to the Premier League in 2008 and retention of our status on the last day of the 2009 season are unique events in the history of Hull City AFC and both were achieved under Phil's stewardship during a period which will never be forgotten by all connected with the club."

City succukmbed to a late winner at home to Arsenal on Saturday after it looked like they had done enough to secure a valuable point.

With their Premier League status in doubt, it is clear that the Tigers hierarchy felt that the time had come to act.

"However, retention of Premier League status is paramount and the board believes that a change in managerial direction is the correct option at this time," Pearson added.

"The club will keep supporters completely up-to-date in respect of any managerial appointment but, in the meantime, Brian Horton and Steve Parkin will prepare the team for our important game at Portsmouth next Saturday."

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez will have two conflicting voices whispering in his ear as he contemplates Wednesday’s devastating Champions League exit against Olympique Lyon.

His better angel will be telling him to stay calm, remember that the Primera Liga title is still very much in play, that the team has actually looked pretty good lately and that a bit of stability is long overdue.

The devil on the other shoulder will be telling him to stop being so lily-livered and fire coach Manuel Pellegrini, if not right away then certainly at the end of the season.

The latter view was being trumpeted by the influential Marca within minutes of the end of Wednesday’s dreadful second half display. “Goodbye to the Champions League and goodbye to Pellegrini,” was the headline on marca.es and the newspaper’s editor, Eduardo Inda used his video blog to make the case in more detail.

So who should Perez listen to?

The Marca argument is that Florentino’s Real need a coach of suitably galactic stature. According to this theory, only five or six coaches around Europe would be up to the task of managing The World’s Greatest Club, with Arsene Wenger, Jose Mourinho and Carlo Ancelotti at the top of a list that maybe also includes Rafa Benitez, Guus Hiddink and Fabio Capello.

Capello and Hiddink have been there, done that, of course, while Wenger has reportedly told Real not to bother calling him, Ancelotti is only a year in to his Chelsea contract and stock in Benitez is falling faster than house prices on a Costa del Sol golf complex.

That leaves Mourinho as the most tempting target and I’m sure he’d do a decent job if they could persuade him away from Inter. It’s true he didn’t manage to win the Champions League with Chelsea or Inter Milan (so far) but he can clearly handle big egos in the dressing room.

I can’t help feeling, though, that the last thing Real need is yet another high profile coach coming in to stamp his authority all over the squad, spend another hundred million euros or so on new players and ship out the ones he doesn’t like at great expense.

Since Perez made the calamitous decision to replace Vicente del Bosque in 2003, Real have been through nine coaches and have not reached a Champions League final. In the same period, Barcelona have had two coaches and won the European Cup twice, and Manchester United, Liverpool and AC Milan have likewise reaped the benefits of coaching stability by reaching more than one final.

Pellegrini may not have been Perez’s first choice but despite the disappointing results in the Copa del Rey and Champions League he deserves credit for putting Barcelona back under pressure this season.

He may or may not have anything to show for his trouble come the end of the season but that shouldn’t matter. Whether Real finish the season in first or second place, Perez and Jorge Valdano should sit down with Pellegrini and give the coach a real say in the planning process for 2010-11.

Real have great players but have not yet turned into a great team. Changing coach again will only delay that transformation still further.

Sincerly speaking I LOVE HER!!!

I initially wanted to date her elder sister, on 31st December, she thought I was drunk, actually I drank but knew what I was doing, she said we talk later and later I lost interest in her, my interest now shifted to her younger sister.
The younger too has interest in me, the problem is how do I tell her that I LOVE HER, without her changing her mind towards me, cuz I’ve had a similar experience with a babe some years back, she was tripping but as soon as I came out and told her how I felt about her character change drastically.

I truly love her, am not scared of telling her, just don’t want her to change her attitude towards me.

A babe in my neighbourhood wanted me to ask her out, initially I didn’t want to, despite the fact that I had feelings for her, I later asked her out she said she had a guy she was dating which was false, I saw it in her that she is interested, cuz sometimes when a babe says no she actually meant YES, so I still persisted.
The most annoying thing she did that got me upset was that there was this young boy that lives in the same compound as she does who wanted her and told her bad things about me(that I went about the neighbourrhood telling anyone who care to know that am dating her).
She actually believed the lunatic and got really upset without confronting me, sent me a damaging text that got me upset and swore never to forgive her again.
The problem is I still LOVE this girl, am finding it difficult to forgive her.

I wouldn't mind dating or getting married to a lady older than me .

I totally disagree with you.  I don't think that there is any justification whatsoever for such a shameful thing. Marriage is for better or for worse. Besides if you suspect her of having a bad past why marry her at all. It clearly shows that the guy doesn't love the girl.

This is just an uncivilized way of life and any family that does that (including the girls family) are worse than animals.

The part that beats my imagination is, how are you going to tell the girl : "babe i love you o, but i think you have been a 'dog' in the past and I don't think you have a womb. So my father and your father has agreed that you should get pregnant first so I'll know you are not a barren 'dog'."

If you are worried about fertility, there are tests you can do! But asking a woman to get pregnant before you can marry her is just wrong . . what if something goes wrong, she stands the risk of having a child outside wedluck!

I have a friend who got pregnant for a guy because he insisted and a day to the wine carrying, he died in accident. She was barely 20!

That taught me a big lesson . .

I won't want to to suffer for the sins of another person. Do you think it's fair for you to suffer for the sins of another person? Remember marriage is forever till death do you part, won't take the risk of being childless.
