Hello nairalanders my woman always complain that I don’t listen to her is it something to worry about or is just a way she want to use to manipulate me sad
Listen to what exactly?
1. Is she trying to run the relationship and you don't listen allow to her?
2. Is she asking for more quality time together and you don't listen to her?

You need to be specific, or else you might get and follow advice that'll will destroy your relationship, a relationship which there might be nothing wrong with.

Be careful.

E tire me.

He didn't set no standards at and from the outset of the relationship in the following order: talking stage, dating stage, courtship stage, and of course the early days of the marriage. Even after years of marriage you can't let your foot off the gas as a man.

Now he's most likely in a precarious situation in which trying to change the dynamics of the relationship, reassert his masculinity would make the wife rebel. She'll be surprised at the change and push back - which she's told him.

Don't necessarily blame women. It's human nature to resist change, in particular when it takes power away from us. And with women, how you start is how your finish.

Some will have good relationships while others will have the opposite. Some people must learn a lesson. It's a cruel world. It is what it is.

I'm out.

She's a freelance writer, if what she wrote on her bio is true.

Presumably she's making money online as a freelancer, hence the reason she stayed indoors most of the time, which is not atypical of those with remote jobs.

But she's here quoting Bible verses. You'd be surprised that a lot of people just say things that was pass down to them without critically examine those sayings.

She must have heard pastors, friends, her parents, and others saying that if you worship God, you'll never lack, or something towards that line.

But she willfully ignored the fact that 'faith without work is death/useless'. She must have also forgotten that there are paupers in the church/congregation she attends, and those people may even be serving God than she does.

I dare her 'throw away' her freelance work and have no financial support from anyone. Afterward, she can let me know if:

1. those bible verses will still apply, and
2. she will not run out of her apartment and go look for work 9-5 like her neighbors.

Palazee:
Tell us your job and you are quoting bible scriptures for us huhhuh

Bro, how did you use LinkedIn to get the freelance writing? I'm also a writer, a pro if l'm allowed to toot my own horn. Thanks.

kkins25:
I saw a job posting (freelance) on Linkedin. I filled the position, I was asked to take a test. At first, i thought it was some AI doing all the talk. Mind you, I had lost my Job around this time too.

I did not reply to the messages sent to be me by HR.

Anyway, the test was to write the first few chapters of a book on investments. I didn't want to take it, I thought it was a waste of my precious time. But, I was bored and thought "Let me just take the challenge." I hadn't written a book before too..

So, I did write an outline for a 30k-word book. My very first outline...I was then asked to write 5k out of the 30k word. I was still skeptical at this point. I still didn't reply to HR. I was just reading the messages, and doing as told. "I'm just whiling away time." Or so I thought.

I wrote the 5k word on the day of submission. I submitted it about a few minutes to submission deadline. I have never written that much in a day before. grin grin grin But, I was just challenged too.

I submitted it, and to my surprise, an Editor was assigned to inspect my work. oooops, so it's not automated chatbots. "With all the silly work I did?" or so i thought.

After about 3 days of edits, I was invited to join the freelance community, as a "Top tier" writer.. Couldn't believe my eyes when i realized I had a higher rank than some folks from US and Canada. To top it off, after about a week, I got another invite to a "special niche" group of freelancers who tackle books on business and technology.

I messaged HR telling them that I hadn't taken a test to be promoted to this "special niche." They replied, "Your test sample was very good, so you automatically qualify for this section..."
shoooooo..... test sample wey i just do anyhow?? Somebody going to church now will say na god handwork. undecided

Even till this day, I look at my writing, and think, I'm not good enough. it appears my eyes see the world through different lenses.

Something like this sometimes happen when you got a new school bag, uniform, or shoes.

1b8m:
Not exactly sleepwalking

When I was about 10yrs or so. I woke up to Jim reeves' track playing on the stereo, that was after I had slept early at about 6pm that evening. Normally my dad would play Jim reeves album very early in the morning so much we often woke to it. So I woke up, bathed my siblings and wore them their school uniforms while I went to get ready for school. Having dressed for school, I joined my siblings in the parlor waiting for my mum to give us breakfast and drop us off at school. After waiting for almost 1hr I went and tapped on my parent's door only for them to come out, realized what happened and burst into laughter. It was then I realized the time was just few minutes to midnight. I was so embarrassed.

ReubenE:
Masculinity has been eroded especially with the growing number of cry babies we now have as men.

How did it get to the level where your wife is now telling you to "earn it" before you perform your sexual rights.

"earn it" what does that even mean? It is clear you are not in control of your wife. Obviously there's something she is not telling you if she can be so flippant in waving of your sexual advances...earn it
Your wife is either self servicing herself or even something greater
No truer words have ever been spoken, especially the bolded part!

See, men or I should say males complain and make it seem that a not-so-good or bad situation with a woman suddenly develop. No! It's how you set the tone of the relationship and how you continue to cultivate the relationship to the last day - break-up/death.

In your case OP (not this user I replied to), women don't think logically as men do, so don't ever think or reason why can't she understand and appreciate all my efforts and spread her legs for me when I need it? Women are way more emotional beings than men. A woman can tell you out of nowhere that "what exactly have you done for me" even if you've literarily given her the world.

Now back from the OP and to everyone reading this.

Everything starts from when you say Hi to a woman, way before commitment or marriage! And being a man doesn't stop even when you're married - it's every hour, minute, second, and millisecond. That may sound like work, but not necessarily so, as it's the way you look at her; it's the way you don't look at her; it's the way you talk to her; it's the way you don't talk to her; it's how you react to her tests and emotions; it's the way you don't react to her tests and emotions.

You guys need real homie to teach you about women - they aren't necessarily evil beings, you just have to master how to choose the right woman and not mess up a relationship with a good woman. With everything done right and all other things being equal (if you know you know), you'll get a woman to almost always be in the mood, have s3x with you even times she is not in the mood, and worship the ground you walk (this last one comes from RESPECT).

To do achieve these, you have to ditch overwhelming majority of the things you watch in movies, listened to (music), and/or learn from your parents' relationship. Most of those lessons will mess you up when dealing with women.

Jobs/VacanciesRe: Should I Quit My Job by Galaxyroyp(m):
Idowu116 I don't usually comment, but consider this my response a blessing.

Your salary is not actually N25,000 but N15,000. Transport fare from your residence to your workplace is N400 X 25 working days = N10,000 every month. Many make this mistake thinking their "salary" is their earnings. That salary (minus expenses required to do the work/get to the workplace), however, is their true salary (NET earnings).

If I was your mentor, here are 5 things I would recommend you to do AND KEEP DOING

1. Track your expenses.
This requires you to sit down and write out every damn things you're spending your N15,000 naira on every month. You can use Google docs app on your phone or any other note taking app.

Here's a glimpse of what an expense tracking would look like and should contain.
a) Stipend for Mom= N5,000
b) Food expenses (eating out I guess) = ??
c) Data = ??
d) Call Card = ??
e) Entertainment = ??
f) Miscellaneous expenses (those things you never consider, but they come up and needs money) = ??

2. Reduce Your Expenses.
If I were you, I will look for ways to reduce expenses in the above areas. Don't say it's not possible; It is. Let me briefly show you how.

#1: Transport fare: Would taking bus instead of bike save you at least 200 from your daily T.fare expenses? That will be N100 go; N100 come. Or can you trek instead of using transportation? Well, you might get sick, so I wouldn't highly recommend that. Or do you know someone with a two or four wheeler that can lift you to work every day? That person could be one of your bank staff, a neighbor that plies the same route as you every day. These ideas alone should be enough for you to think outside of the box.

Action Plan 1: Find a way to cut down your Transport expenses to N5,000 (from N10,000) or Zero.

#2: Mom's Stipend: See Idowu, putting your mom on monetary support of N5,000 every month shows how kind and wonderful a son you are. But note, no dey do pass yourself (think Kiss Daniel's song). Since you're 22, I guess you're still living with your mom. So, giving her 1/3 of your actual salary (profit) is understandable. At least, she will add that to what she uses to run and maintain the house. This leads me to the next point I want to make on this part.

Is your mom working? Is it a must you give your mom that much every month (I would never advise you to stop giving her, but try to cut it down). So, can you reduce it to maybe N2,000 or N1,000? Let her know the reason for the change - I will tell you later. If she's truly a mother, she'll understand and support you.

Action Plan 2: Reduce the amount you give your mom every month.

#3: Food expenses: From your writeup, I'm thinking you're the type that eat out. If that's correct, you need correct slap, honestly. For this economy, you dey eat out without being financially buoyanthuh

Try eating at home and going to work with some homemade food, which you can take for lunch. If I were you in this case, I wouldn't even consider lunch. If I can get breakfast and dinner, I will be content and thankful.

Granted, there would be days, you'll see Gala, Groundnut, Beverages, and other stuff seducing you (things I called entertainments earlier). It's actually good to fall into their temptations some not all the times. Also, you'll need to subscribe your device for data connection, buy airtime, and take care of little, little miscellaneous expenses. For all of these, budget N5,000 . It will be hard as you'll be living on less, but it's doable.

Action Plan 3: CUT DOWN YOUR EXPENSES.

3. SAVETO INVEST, NOT TO SPEND OOOO.
If you do all these actionable plans, you should have at least N8,000 to N10,000 for savings every month. For example, 5,000 from T.fare; maybe 3k from Mom stipends; and perhaps 2k from other spending categories. As I promised earlier, tell your Mom that you need to save. She should understand and support you if she's truly a mother. "Person no dey use entire mouth talk"

Action Plan for this part: Take Out Your Savings from your salary first (FIRST OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO) and lock it somewhere. If I were you, I would use Piggyvest. More specifically, PIggyvest's safelock feature. It's like a fixed deposit offered by your traditional banks. Benefit? This will enable you not to touch your savings even if your financial word is "crumbling" and you need some cash to save it. You gerri? If you don't gerrit, 4girl abourit.

4. Look for ways to increase your income or earning power.
This could be achieved through networking. Mingle with and tell people you think might be able to help you get a better job. Being social a bit (you better dump that introvert thing) and nice with people will go a long way to help your ministry.

Here's one secret: Don't go about asking people only about JOB alone oooo. Use style to pry information out of people when appropriate about businesses you can start with low capital. Trust me, there are businesses you can start with N50,000 - N100,000. Especially if you're in Lagos, you'll get business that you can start with as low as N50,000 and will be making decent profits. Even if you're not in Lagos, still do your research.

There are cool business ideas that requires small startup capital. It's just that many Nigerians no just dey share update. Most of us have the I must be the only one making it mentality. And see what that mentality has brought upon us? Well, that's another topic for another day.

And God's willing, when you find that business worth investing on, go to your separated funds (savings) to fund the business. BUT, BUT, BUT, BUT, be careful and don't rush into any business anyhow so you don't lose your capital.

5. Stay Away From Girlfriend Things for now.
Airtime to say I love you to your girlfriend, recharge cards gifts to the G.F, and other mumu funds you'll be sending for her birthdays, hairstyles, and the like will set you back financially and would not let you follow these steps and reach your goals fast.

Similarly, stay away from sex. Many (not all) females have been used by ritualists of all sorts. Don't let one ritualist be taping your star through sex with their unsuspecting victims.

If you need more clarifications, ask here instead of sending a direct message. Not only you, but many people seeing this will benefit.

ComputersHard Disk: Questions and where to buy? by Galaxyroyp(op): 12:22pm On Oct 08, 2021
Hello every computer experts reading this.

I have an HP15-bs0xx laptop which comes with a 1TB standard hard disk.

I have been using the PC for a couple years. The other day, I noticed it started running unusually slow, with few lags here and there.

Few days after, the laptop warns about an imminent hard disk failure whenever I boot it.

With these said, my questions are:

1. Can I upgrade the hard disk to an SSD drive? Would I find an SSD drive for that HP model? I am planning getting 500 GB SSD.

2. Do we have anyone here who knows how much such a hard drive costs?

3. Where can I buy a genuine hard drive.

Please this is urgent as I don't want to loose all the files on the hard disk before getting a new one. I need to transfer my files to a new hard disk.

Thank you for reading, and hey!, don't pass without leaving a comment.

Thanks once again.
