i actually haven't formatted. i wanted to wait a week to try other methods of fixing it plus i dont have another storage media big enough to temporarily hold my files yet. I still dont have any info on any other OS in case i decide to dump windows,

@the seeker. I have no intention of contributing to your stupidity and as such will post on this topic, no more. My recent post was aimed at advising you but as it has become clear you are nothing but a religious fanatic of the worst kind in the making and who wants no help, goodbye.

Muhammad as a religious person who happenened to be successful in business and in creating intolerant monsters(thats the way i see you especially supporters of Al Queda) called muslims. Even his instruction to muslims proved what kind of business man he was(the ibo kind, sorry but i've been cheated to many times at oshodi by ibos) and also how much he loved sex. Did he really think he'd enjoy it after death and without any more flesh? 72 virgins will not even remain virgins for long(now they'll say virgin forever).
Will you stop all this bullshit or not?
When will it occur to you self righteous christians and muslims that by living your days trying to discredit each other instead of loving each other and living peacefully. It is clear that the poster is ignorant of the fact that pride is the driving force behind the post which i see as an advertisement rather than anything else. There are so many good and great men and women in the world either dead or alive. Eg mother theresa, . The same sort of pride led to the battle over Jerusalem and over the years, countless deaths.
Stop this stupid adverts and all muslims should stop buying Bibles just so they can peruse and discredit it. We are not your rivals and neither are we practising religion. Christianity is a culture, a tradition adopted by all who see Jesus as the way to God and everlasting life.
PS: When you have turned the jihad to an everyday occurence and haved proved that you, like a lot of christian hypocrites are not as peaceful, loving or tolerant as your books preach, what more do you expect from the world. to love muhammed?

@original poster.Fool, it would do you and others like you to either learn literature or if you have, then restart from nursery school. The passage in revelation that speaks about children was not refering to literal kids. Also consult your Imam but if he doesn't get it, that may mean trouble but i won't be surprised. You people will jump at any ship that seems to sail towards destroying the credibility of the bible. I'd like to continue but instead i'd invite you to look for my post concerning the origin of the bible. Its still being written and note: no muslim that carries the bible everyday looking for passages to discredit is allowed to post. Just read and learn, then pass to your imam.

Guys, i bought tune up utility and decided to try fixing the PC with it before i formatted the system. After defragmenting, fixing errors, cleaning registry and a bunch of other stuffs, i noticed a day later that the PC was booting faster and running a bit better but not like before.
Does it mean the PC is getting fixed slowly or is it just messing with me?
I'm planning to use the tune up everyday for a week but if the PC doesn't start running normally by then, i'll just format it.

I am doing any serious game coding yet, so i dont do any graphic. The games i'm trying to create for now are text based adventures. I am doing this because i'm sure it will help me learn to control my programs better and give me a good grasp of the various topics because i'm trying to implement what i learn from every topic. Please help me get links to tutorials related to text based games to aid me. Thanks.

It is apparent to me now and i am sure it is clear to a lot of people that some muslims especially the stupid ones(like the seeker) whose minds are set on destroying the credibility of bible for their own pride do not even know the basis of the bible and dont care. They shamelessly peruse the bible for the purpose of discrediting it and that is one of the reasons i have decided to make this topic. I may not be able to post a lot of details cuz i'm posting this from my phone and it's almost 1am. So i expect christians with good knowledge of this topic to contribute. Notice i said christians. Those shameless muslims are only permitted to read and learn. Especially those who claim the existence of an original bible.
First of all, there is no such thing as an original bible. The bible is a compilation of letters, history and a host of other things which were deemed capable of helping people in their quest for the one true God. It's purpose include but not limited to educating and instructing people on worshiping God, passing God's commandments to Generations on earth and more importantly about the livestyle they should lead. Although most scholars based on their idea that everything related to books in the bible should be added to it argue that some books were not added to the bible based purely on the decision of christian leaders at that time, people must realize that most of this books, spoke of things that contradicted not one but many other books that were later added to the bible. If you are smart you should note then that conformity to certain known facts passed down from generations aided in the scrutinisation of this books. A documentary on the time of Jesus by national geographic should also aid you to understand, as it was revealed that like today, during Jesus' time, there were also prophets with followers who not only opposed Jesus but preached totally different kinds of things and whose followers may be responsible for some of the books that were not added to the bible. The choice of standards for books added to the compilation called the bible must at this point be commended especially for its great impact on men and its power for withstanding the test of time. It is a book that will remain till the second coming, one i am proud of and though will never fully understand, because of the mysteries contained therein, i will always thank God it. @ the seeker. You must be an extremely stupid geologist. Your purpose of asking a question whose answer is beyond human understanding shows how much men will do for pride which is a cloak for their ignorance and stupidity. You claim the Quran is right because it is in accordance with scientific fact. Well, scientific fact says your books are bullshit(are you gonna cut my head for that?). Let us live our lives in peace and love and stop all this religious hypocrisy. God does not even care about all this. What he cares for is you living a life worthy of his love and mercy.

Pride like yours is what caused bloodshed over Jerusalem. God cares little for these things. Our senseless pride and ignorance of things beyond our understanding has led us to actions i'm sure neither Jehovah or Allah nor Jesus and Muhammed will truly support. Live your lfe and let God pass his judgemennt the way He wishes. Let him do as He will. Same goes for all you shameless Christians and Muslims who instead of worrying about your own fate, go about trying to disprove the other for shameless pride.

Thanks guys. Now i think i may be done with windows and their bullshit. I'm planning to buy a new laptop but i don't know where to get other OS's like linux or mac. Please i need information on the other operating systems and how i can get them.

I've been learning C++ and java on my own for about three months and all the while loving it. It's difficult learning these languages at the same time so i create space sometimes and usually dedicate a few days of the week to a particular programming language. It has helped me a lot and i've sometimes been able to identify important differences that would surely be important when i decide to use any language for any task.

Now the real issue is that although i am getting a good grasp of both languages, i haven't been able to create anything yet except a few simple programs which are sometimes exercises from the textbooks i use. I would like someone to advise me on books to find simple examples, exercises and tutorials on this languages especially based on games to broaden my knowledge and skills. I would prefer text based games for now unless you can give me a good reason to dive into learning about any graphic library right now(note i'm not very good yet). 

I would also like to meet other programmers(both beginners and experts alike) especially those into game programming to gain knowledge and know the way forward in Nigeria. Although i am not learning this at school(i'm reading economics), i am  very determined and open to any suggestion and criticism.

All men are fools, especially those who cliam to be christians or muslims and would do anything to defend the teachings of their religion.
One is always trying to contradict each other but when will we learn that whether Christianity, Islam or Science is correct, it matters little for us. The ones who benefit are the ones who lived lives worthy of reward even from Gods whether imagined or otherwise. So stop the bullshit and shameless hypocrisy about religious peace and war. It is clear that we will never know the truth as humans. It's clear we can never know the truth about anything except what is happening in front of us and even that is sometimes confusing, Hence the human exoneration of faith. As a teenager with christian and muslim relations(both family and friends), i know i can never be perfect even in understanding and knowleddge but i will tell you this; I've had enough one party telling me to accept muhammed or go to hell even if i lead a good life while the other screams the name of Jesus whom they suggest i should accept instead or go to hell! I know the difference between good and evil and i will always strive to follow the good path. That to me is enough for i can not imagine a God who is universally acclaimed as being kind, wonderful and understanding to punish a good man.

PS: could everyone kindly stop arguing on behalf of God? Nothing you do can convince even you that He exist except your faith(not your religion) and beating or killing another person cuz he said or did something about your religion, Bible or Quran(not yours but God's by the way) will help either you or the person. How does killing even help you people and I'm talking to the supposedly peaceful christians and muslims who have caused so much bloodshed from the battle over Jerusalem and over the tearing of Bible to Qurans. You are surely the first candidates for hell. In fact the devil will furnish yours specially.

And please muslims in Nigeria, It would do this country a lot of good if you people could reduce the amount of beggars you manufacture in this country. Punishment is supposed to reform people and not handicap them for life. The population of handicaps from the north springing up all over the country has become a great source of distress to me and a lot of Nigerians. please in the name of Allah, the beneficient and the merciful, open your eyes and learn the art of forgiveness and a new way of punishing muslims.

@deji2009. Thank you very much. The computer passed the tests and i'm preparing to format and reinstall the OS. What could have caused the problem and how can i avoid it?

C'mon Nigerians. The problem here is that a CPU that used to run at normal speed now runs slower no matter the application in use. I've been playing games and programming with the PC for almost a year now and there's been no problem till recently. So guys though i appreciate your suggestions, the issue here is that i want to know the cause of the problems and solutions to it so i dont get the same problem when i get another laptop.
Note: i've installed many different programming compilers which i use almost everyday and i own lots of emulators(eg PCSX2 emulator and Graphic card emulators although i hardly use them.) could any of these lead to problems with processors and CPU's?

PS: I already mentioned that it was a DELL laptop running on intel. Please read my previous posts carefully.

Its actually one gig and i've been playing all kinds of games especially PES 09 and GRAW(the only problem with new games on my pc is pixel shader availaibility). So this means my problem is yet to be solved.
Quickly guys, HELP ME.

Please people, i own a dell inspiron laptop running on an intel CPU T2050 @ 1.60 ghz, 798 mhz 0.99 RAM. The operating system is windows XP and i've been using it for almost a year now but i recently noticed that the computer has gotten slower. Now, when i play games, it runs at almost normal speed and becomes really slow. I checked the CPU usage from the task manager a number of times and it is now usually at a 100 percent even when no program is running.

Please i need to know what is wrong. At first i thought it was a virus but my AVG is always on and i update regularly which may mean it is not the work of a virus but i don't really know.

Anyone with ideas about this problem should please post them here and if possible, with solutions.

Pls guys, i need help on how to configure netbeans IDE 6.1 for c++. I only have bloodshed dev C++ on my system but netbeans says it doesn't detect any compiler on the system. If i have to download a new compiler, pls give me links and directions if possible, and no RAPIDSHARE!

Can anyone also get me links to good game programming tutorials that have actually been beneficial to a beginner programmer(there's a whole load of silly lazy tutorials on the net ).

And to all my Naija programmers, when can we expect a good software that wasn't developed for money(i mean business software), how soon can we expect good programs that actually motivate others especially beginners llike me,  .

I love naija,  I really do,  Lets do whats best and not chase after unnecessary things like money.

And for those who are worried about the prospects of self taught programmers like me,  I think we programmers can and should prove ourselves before seeking jobs by making the best of what we have( There's a lot of tools around to work with ) and do the best we can. The best programmers today started as hobbyists doing what they loved best ( i don't have to mention names )  .
