DONLEKAN: If you tell Atiku that he will only be the president of Nigeria if he abuses his dead mother, the nigga will do just that. The guy likes power like his life depends on it. In 2010 / 2011 election, he was a staunch proponent of it's the turn of the North. Now he is telling the South what they will like to hear. He knows when he enters the room with his Northern brothers, he will tell them he is only cajoling Southerners; that he will never betray Northern interest.
We don wise up. Our mumu don do Thank you. He wants power because that is the only way he can enter the USA again without being arrested as a crook on the spot as he lands. Someone who has been running from the visiting the USA since 2009 because of Halliburton and other briberies. |

Achuwa1: If Atiku can do all he is saying, then I am for Atiku 2019. I will campaign for Atiku with the last drop of my blood if he will fulfill all he just said in this write up. This is how dumb and gullible you are. You are willing to give the grand thief the keys and custodianship to the vault all because of one populist agenda he supports. You are a brainless human being. |

Eze2000: Hi, people,
I need to ask a question and I need all the frank answers I can get before arriving at a final conclusion on a decision that could make or ruin me. I wish to know all about Osun state becuase I'm about to move down there. Basically, I'm relocating due to my (online) business there from Lagos due to this horrible power supply issue. I pay heavy bills and NEPA only brings light for three hours at midnight Spend more on generator and fuel but the damn machine won't start when you need ti most. I'm sick of Lagos, it's killing my business.
I read a thread here last two months that said Osun state has the highest power supply rate in Nigeria, averaging 22 hrs daily. Made some inquire and found this to be true but you see, I want to know more so I know exactly what I'm getting myself into here. What better place to acquire knowledge than Nairaland?
Here goes....
1. How expensive are food and accommodation down there? It is hell here in Lagos and I sure don't want to run from frying pan to fire. 2. I'm Christain and I heard that Osun is a very Muslimised state...how will this affect me? 3. I'm a single Igbo guy and naturally I'm worried about my prospects of getting a good wife in a state like that, it's bad enough in Lagos here and there are Igbos here.
These are my main worries and they boil down to a few words....how expensive, suitable and sociable is Osun state to a single Igbo guy looking to make the best of his online business.
All knowledgeable responses will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you! You can hardly go wrong with this move, brother. They have serious reliable power in the main part of Oshogbo (not the whole part). If you stay in the area where the banks are concentrated (Gbongan-Ibadan Road axis), the 22 hours a day is real, your generator would be useless. As food and accommodation, any food that is imported is far more expensive in Osun, but if you like eating basic Yoruba food, it is much cheaper. Anything that can be gotten from the bush is much cheaper. E.g. yam, plantain, snails, ewedu etc. The bukas there are also dead cheap. There is not a lot of chain eateries there though, you would have to make do with bukas and canteens. The kind and quality of 3 bedroom accommodation that you would get in Surulere and pay N900,000 per annum for (Or in Bariga for N500,000), you will get in Oshogbo for N150,000. You can get even cheaper accommodation if you don't want high quality. Osun State is a Muslim state, but don't forget that these are Yoruba Muslims, so they are very chilled. You can't get any kind of wahala. People would leave you alone to do whatever you want to do, at worst, they would complain, you will shout at each other and that would be the end of it. There are Yoruba Christians in Osun state too, and they don't get any problems. As for wife, there are Igbos everywhere, so I don't see how it would be a problem finding Igbos in a Yoruba state that is close to Igboland. There are also Yoruba and Edo girls in Osun. It also has a few higher education institutions, so girls dey. If you make decent money, that is a place where competition for fine girls would be less for you. Downside: There is nothing much to do in Oshogbo. Not a lot of joints and it is 1 hour from Ibadan by road. So expect to be bored a bit. |

NONNYG: average salary of a professor in Nigeria is 500k, now compare it with someone who earns like $11 per hour, working for 8 hours a day, 6 days a week. This is above 700k monthly, what if he's earning above $11 per hour. And how much does he pay for rent and transportation out of that every month? Secondly, a Nigerian professor's monetary reward does not come from salary only. International or developmental organisations funding local research or requiring consultancy would also cough out some hard currency. |

eee777: Here in BTC (Benin City) it is still the usual 3hours daily (that is if there is light oo) & I was forced to abandon BEDC disco helded by one very greedy & wicked Funke woman that controls Edo, Delta, Ondo & Ekiti. I met a top staff who reveal all activities in that coy to me. She generates a whooping 3 billion naira plus from Edo alone & remit just 400million naira to FG. When I visited Ihorvor power plant in the state a friend there told me power has not shut for a minute in the last 5 months yet no electricity in Edo.
The evil woman buys small energy or load & distribute to areas she felt has more mugus or fools, then schedule them into 3hours on 15hours off & some are 6hours straight & 3hours off. Some individual /coys are connected to special lines & that line enjoys at least 21hours straight supply in designated locations & yet you think this country is for everyone?
At the end of the month she bills the 1-3 hours customers 5-10k. Many energy consumers have been turned into fools & you wonder if Edo people are not cowards & fools. I'm sure if BEDC headquarters was cited in Delta or southwest were she is from, her kingsmen would have diabolically nailed her or meet her waterloo in Delta state. Someone that opened her mouth to say the more they protest or mention her name on the radio or tv the more popular she becomes & nothing will happen.
Many times she wouldn't pick load so that she can deceptively use power without paying. This is just 10% of her greedy business on this posts. If I reveal all, many of you may run mad. I pity the people in that state suffering in the hands of that woman even if I not directly affected but what about my fellow men & family members. Nothing can be best imagined than living in Egalitarian State Stop talking crap, my friend. Since when did private companies have to "remit" money to government? |

Evaberry: Ladies take this advise seriously
1. DONT ever ask a guy out
2. Don't ever tell a guy you love/like him.
Asking a guy out never ends well Ladies, I present to you the kind of mentality that possessing one would probably lead to you asking a pastor to pray for you (in your late 30s) to find your husband. The kind of mentality that would lead you to rushing for any available will-do man you don't particular like so that you can have a child before your eggs dry out. |
