somkwams: Please I booked for an appointment last nite and till now I haven't gotten there email. Please can someone tell me how long it takes before the email slip comes in cos am getting worried thanks.

mine came few mins after i booked though d mail that came was in duestch.
also pls house, what is contained in the mail they send after one books for an appointmt? my mail is not in english though my name, time, date i booked n embassy address are there.

pls house how many slots for appointments do the embassy allocate for a day?

yes they replied me these morning and said I shld resend my passport copy via email that i have till the end of enrolement for the course to submit my certificate if offer admsn

steelie: The diploma does not stop one from being admitted as long as the transcript was sent, but one can't enroll unless all mandatory documents on his application are ticked ok. i am also thinking of getting a support letter from my school that i can send to them in place of the diploma. Hope the passport copy you sent was notarised? That might be the reason its not ok yet.

the passport was notarised. am sure its their mistake, but still awaiting their reaponse. I applied to other schs too hoping that at least one wrks out

steelie: i mailed the student service desk about the meaning of diploma and she replied saying "your diploma entitles you to use your bachelor title. Usually you are given two documents, one stating your grades (the certificate) which i have sent, and the second is the diploma. The deadline for submission of the mandatory documents is five weeks after your first lecture" it's the original degree conferred during convocation. I just don't know what to do about that right now because my convocation is this year's Nov. As for your passport you need to mail it-support about it, they are a bit clumsy about application status update. Do you have your original degree at hand?

i sent them a mail too but the replied that they will get back to me. dont know when my cert will b ready cos my sch usually take yrs before they issue, though they have a letter that they normally give to b used bfor the cert is ready.

steelie: Please house i've got lil issues with my application for msc at TU Munich. i submitted all my documents and all my documents on my application status are ticked 'ok'. My degree cert. was ticked 'ok' but diploma 'missing' and was told by the admission office to send it, before i could be considered for enrollment for the program. i really don't get what they mean by 'Diploma'cos i'm a degree holder. Could someone kindly explain to me what the Germans mean by that.

mayb you should send them an email. applied to thesame school too and they have not even ticked most of the documents i sent but they sent me a mail that they have received them

no u cant do dat in abuja for student visa, it has to b lagos. bt other types of visa u can

sammykunjas: Guys, the embassy has replied me regarding the right document to use in opening the blocked account. This is the mail they sent:

Dear Sir,

thank you for your email.

Please be advised that the Consulate General can only certify your signature for the necessary opening of a blocked account if you already have the admission letter of the university (a pdf printout is sufficient), as a copy of the admission letter has to be forwarded to the bank with the application form and your passport copy.

As soon as you have submitted your application for the opening of a blocked account, you will receive a confirmation letter from the Consulate with which you can apply for your student visa.

I trust you find this information helpful. Attached please also find the checklist with further information concerning the opening of a blocked account.

Opening of Student Account (Blocked Account)
with Deutsche Bank
In order to open a blocked account with Deutsche Bank, you need to send an
application to the bank in Germany. Your signature on the application form
needs to be certified. The certification of signature can be done free of charge at
the Consulate General in Lagos or at the Embassy in Abuja during normal
business hours.
Please bring along:
1. filled application form for a blocked account
2. international passport and 2 copies of the data page
3. admission letter of the German university and 2 copies thereof
You will have to sign the application form in presence of a Consular officer in
order to have your signature certified.
All forms and more information can be obtained from the homepage of the
Deutsche Bank:
https://www.deutsche-bank.de/pbc/pk-studium-international_students_en.html
Please note that it can take up to three weeks after the certification until the
bank account will be opened.

guy that means that one can use the pdf printout addmission letter to apply for visa once the embassy sends the confirmation letter.
also when i was at the abuja embassy, they certified my application form and passport copy without certifying the adm letter though they collected a copy of the admsn letter

sammykunjas: Yeah that's true but if these options are not available in the German embassy in Nigeria, why then did the embassy include the study applicant visa option in the PDF file containing the information on how to apply for long term student visa? I really don't understand. I hope they will explain to me better when they reply the mail I sent to them today.

Just got favourable reply from uni assist,all my docs have being forwarded to 4 skools.without toefl or ielts result.praying to get admission is d next thing now.


But german student admission is generally hard,cos many applicant is apply to few spaces.in u S,u can even get admission within 48 hours.
