donedy: This is a nicely-crafted response from the presidency. As I read through the letter, my hope in Nigeria once again rekindles.

wonderbobs: . Can't I use my sisters house address, but we don't stay in the same state??
i dont tink so becos here in berlin wen u have ur contract for a place to stay, then u take it to the burgeramt at the district of where ur accomodation is located. n even if ur sister is in thesame town with u, they will have to check if the place is big enough to accomodate both of u

kelly4top: I buy 8 big lap of chicken at 1.8 euros sef at koufland and full 1kg od pork meat at 1 euro. Greiss is something like garri not exactly garri but no difference. Today is 20th and the 35 euros i withdrew for food still remain. It was when i came newly i do spend alot on food cos i dont cook then.

Guys wey like chicken and pork meat make unua ready oh cos unua go chop cheap meat tire. Sometimes sef i just buy only chicken and cook as food to show u how the thing cheap. I no fit try am for naija cos i must hold like 2k. Another cheap thing here na drinks, juice wine and especially beer.

Accommodation here is expensive but cheaper in Northern Germany. My guy pays 180 euro bigger room than mine sef. I pay 254 per month although everything is furnished with internet, electricity, Tv cable network, properties, kitchen utensils shelves, heater, etc. But if u are able to work part time during studies at week ends like i do, it will compliment for ur accommodation and 80 euros health insurance. Everything is planning and God.
will try n do a proper market survey dis wkend sha

futurewise11: guy relax.even with 6o euro u can survive monthly.more over u think u will have time for 3 square mill?food is the cheapest thing here.except u cant cook in your hostel.the most expensive thing here is accomodation not food.full chicken(superhunn)is 2 euro=420.rice sef no reach 1 euro here.
if ur garri fininsh just go aldi or markauf ask of grease na 25 cent just by 4 if u like swallow that still 1 euro.food is cheap here my man.
the only issue is there education is intensive, and u need alot of self study.so u guys shouldnt worry about surviving.

alles kla

for me i can comfortably survive with 80euros for feeding. chicken is like 4.70euros n there is this fish for 2euros. rice, spag n potatoes are cheap including vegetables.

LillyGemm: One needs to apply for a UK visiting visa. The UK has it's own border control rules from the Schengen zone. UK isn't part of the Schengen area so someone with a German student visa or resident permit still needs a visa to go the UK. With a UK visa, you can go to Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and England (countries that make up the United Kingdom). It's similar to someone with a UK student visa. That person needs a visa to come to Germany because with UK student visa, he or she can only use it to go to England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales. UK student visa is never a Schengen visa.

aroyem4u: Okay. So I arrived in Germany monday night. Its been mixed feelings. Very organised society but this place isn't for lazy people at all. Please don't come if u r lazy. Academics is also tight. Am sure u won't be seeing Godson Tope and other frequent helpers often again as academics can be really demanding. You will do well to keep ur optimism cautious because it is really not rosy from what I have seen. Make sure when u apply for admision in a school you also apply for a studentenwerk accomodation simultanously.
What I have enjoyed the most dis past days is the tram bus. Realy cool. And yea, almost everyone almost everywhere is smoking cigarette....
yea very important u settle ur accomodation. i had to spend a whole week at the hotel when i arrived. just got a place now at the studentenwerk but cant move in till next week. so I am going to stay with a german classmate over the weekend. Berlin is really a nice place with very nice pple

Angel Diamond: I flew Lufthansa..........my ticket was booked with a credit card in London........
My story: Before booking i asked a question on nairaland about showing card when checking in my luggage or boarding and someone said i will show the card because he or she was asked to show his own.....I called Lufthansa Lagos to confirm and i was told YES! i will show the card i used to book.....I told the lady that the card that will be used is not in my name and she advised i get the cash and pay myself......A popular boss here on nairaland also said they won`t ask.....
The card holder called Lufthansa London, and he was told that i do not need to show card, that they stopped asking for card since June 2012.....
I got confused and did not know which to follow.....as i would be flying from Nigeria.....
On the day of my departure, i was too carried away to remember the ticket was booked with a card not in my name.....It was when i landed i remembered no one asked atall.....
Atleast, i am sure now that Lufthansa does not ask for cards.........may be different for other airlines though....
tinkinking of lufthansa too bt wen i checked online was seeing smtin around 250k while on qatar airline i saw around 90k.
bt would really want to fly frm abuja
