Afroconnect:Your problem is that like most Nigerians, you don't know the history of Nigeria. If you did, you would know that Ojukwu did all he could to prevent war. You would know that despite being senior to Gowon, Ojukwu went to Ghana and signed an agreement with Gowon in which he promised to recognise Gowon as his leader so that there would be no war. You would know that it was Gowon that broke that peace agreement. You would also know that it was the eastern Nigerian consultative assembly that mandated Ojukwu to declare Biafra and not something Ojukwu decided on his own to do. You would also know that it was Gowon that started the war by coming down to the east to start fighting when he had other options such as calling Ojukwu back to the negotiating table. Throughout the war, Ojukwu left the door of peace open and promised to order the Biafran army to lay down their guns provided that Gowon agreed to a referendum in the eastern region, but Gowon said "we must all be one Nigeria" and millions died. If you knew Nigerian history, you would know that Ojukwu was a 'Saint' compared to all others. Stop listening to the Yoruba propaganda and start reading real Nigerian history. |
Afroconnect:Besides wealth and power, what other ideology do you think Lugard had when he created Nigeria? You are questioning the ideology of indigenous born African men like Ojukwu and Kanu to create their own political destiny while accepting the ridiculous ideology of 'foreigners' that made you a Nigerian? I laugh in Chinese. |
APC prides its self as a party of change. But nearly a year in the saddle of power, everything I have seen about this party and Buhari is that they will end up being 10 times worse than PDP ever was. |
Quakertellicus1:Of course they will reject him, so that they can keep rigging elections |
In an interview, Nnamdi Kanu’s mother Ugoeze Nnenna Kanu says her son Nnamdi kanu’s is on the right part fighting for the actualization of the state of Biafra and that she has no regrets whatsoever. Unlike most mothers who would have been disheartened, this woman was strong and showed strength all through the interview. She went ahead to encourage her son’s supporters. Good day madam , we heard that your son NNAMDI KANU have been in detention for over five months now, how do you feel about that? Yes… My son have been unlawfully detained by the Nigerian DSS without any charge, and it’s really a shame to Nigerian democracy. Now what moved your son to embark on the Biafran restoring, knowing fully well, that more than three million Biafrans were killed when such case came up past decades, Can i ask you a Question… Your father struggles to get wealth, but he did not achieve it, will that stop you from starting from were he stopped? The fact still remains…. Biafra is our home, that our forefathers did not achieve it, can’t, and will never stop us from pressing forward. Do you think Biafra will be restored? My answer is capital YES. Because we were never one with Nigeria, so the marriage will never work, all we seek for is Biafra. Okay.. Now do you have any regret, (your son has been in detention for over five months) because of Biafra? I don’t have, whatsoever, because i know that he is in the right part, freedom is not cheap, he is paying the price, that is our ransom. Lastly madam .. What do you have to tell people outside there supporting your son, what encouragement? I love them all for their support and endurance… Let them keep on keeping on, freedom is not given, but is taken, they have to understand that my son is in detention because of them, and let them have in mind that biafra must come under our watch. Bhella5:One or two days electoral violence is not enough to declare a state of emergency. It is unfortunate what is happening in Rivers state but it is not a far cry from what obtains in other states. The only difference is that the Elephants of Amaechi and Wike are fighting. Until the day that Nigeria embraces E-Voting and stops this result sheet/Ballot box thing, electoral violence will continue. |
Unless a law is enacted that stipulates instant dismissal for any Military personell who lays their hands on a civilian, Military brutality will stay with us forever. Sadly, we have never had a president who has ever northerer to tackle the problem of the Military who still act like their uniform makes them God. |
A million housing units a year? I wasn't aware that APC made such a promise. How in Gods name did they think they could ever keep such a ludicrous promise? Did they think houses are built from Toy Legos? Do the know the level of investment needed to build such? I think that APC just made empty promises to their gaulible followers in their desperate bid to to get to power. Now that they are in power, they are lost. |
noblezone:As our "attacking brothers" continue with their madness, we Igbos are watching the Yorubas shout 'one Nigeria' while supporting them politically to be in power. |
The OP is deluded. Can somebody tell him that you do not have to be a Nigerian citizen to reside in Northern Nigeria. |
blackpanda:Your problem is that Lugard came to west Africa to tell you that you are a Nigerian and you believed him. It's time you started asking your fellow West Africans if what Lord Lugard said is actually true or false. Someone suffering from colonial mentality cannot really reason well. |
jessyglow:My father who was a Biafran Soldier told me his experiences in the battle front. Some of his stories are chilling. My mother has told me stories of running in the bush with other women as they were bombed indiscriminately by aircrafts. But the biggest tragedy of the war is that the lesson it should have taught us is what we are yet to learn, that nobody should force another to be with each other. Instead of fighting and killing each other, a simple referendum should be held and let people decide their fate. Even the Efik/Ibibio man will be able to decide what he wants. As an Igbo man, I will never fight to be in 'one Nigeria' with a Hausa or Yoruba man. Infact, if these people tell me they going to form Arewa or Odua Republics, I will even contribute money for them to go. But if I said the same for myself, every body will start shouting war. So something is wrong somewhere. War is always because someone is saying they want to go and another is saying they will not go, which brings about a fight. No 'enforced union' is ever a peaceful one. That's the way the Cookie crumbles. |
blackpanda:You talk like someone living in dream land. What do you think Nigeria is? You think it is a United people who love each other and see each other as one? On the contrary, Nigeria is just the enforced gathering of certain ethnic nationalities in west Africa by the British. You said Nigeria will not break up? Even Britain that created Nigeria came close to breaking up in 2014 with the Scottish referendum. Czecoslovakia broke up in 1992. But it is the Hausa/Yoruba/Igbo people who don't even like each other that you think cannot break up? I laugh in Igbo. The Igbo mans dream is no longer to produce the president of Nigeria. The office of the president of Nigeria is a worthless position that has not helped anybody, not even those who have held the position in the past. Igbos are concentrated on something far more important than the Nigerian presidency. Wake up bro, we are not one. No matter how much you want to believe Lord Lugard that we are one, we are not. We proved this to ourselves by killing each other to the tune of over 3 million. Nigeria is still what it is when Lugard created it in 1914, the enforced union of people. |
munchi:5.0 GPA? Means this guy rarely has a 'B'. This guy is something else |
ExplorerReturns:IPOB is not about funding capital projects. That's not what it was created for and the organisation is not about Igbos alone. Igbos are just one tribe out of over 40 in IPOB. why would it show favouritism to just one tribe. Get your facts right |
He said that Ifeanyi Ubah is corrupt but did not say anything about how he stole |
While I'm not a supporter of any military coup by any body, it should be noted that Nigeria was already in turmoil before Nzeogwu stepped in. It was not like Nigeria was a peaceful place and Nzeogwu came from nowhere to conduct a coup. There was serious problems and killings arising from the 1964 elections that continued into 1965. Nzeogwu struck in January 1966. I believe that had Nzeogwu done nothing, there still would have still been violence, more killings and a civil war. It should also be noted that Nzeogwu was the only military officer in the history of Nigeria to conduct a coup but did not sieze power for himself. It is unfortunate that people like Akintola, the Saduana, brigadier Maimalari,Ademulegun and Balewa were all killed. Only Nzeogwu and Ifeajuna can tell us why the coup was not bloodless. However, as an Igbo man, I have no sympathy for what happened to these men. They have been avenged with the killing of over Igbo officers in the counter coup and the over 3 million that died in the civil was. Igbos have lost much more the men ever gave. If there is distrust amongst the ethnic nationalities of Nigeria, they don't have to be together. They can shake hands and go their separate ways. After all, we were not together until Lugard landed in West Africa |
blackpanda:Have you ever seen a Nigerian president who had no interest in coming back? The Buhari who fought for 12 year to return is who you think will have no interest to return in 2019? I laugh in Swahili. Assuming that Nigeria doesn't break up before 2019, I think it is highly likely that Buhari will be re-elected, no matter how bad his administration is. Naturally, we Igbos will not vote for Buhari or APC and most of the so called Niger-Delta will not wont either. However much of the North will vote Buhari once again, and of course, the Yorubas who are self confessed slaves of Northern Nigeria will support their masters with their votes. So the truth is that Buhari has already won the 2019 elections even though his administration may become 100 times worse than GEJ's. As an Igbo man, I already know that Nigeria is a hopeless situation and im looking elsewhere for inspiration now................. |
hopilo:Our value system? Sorry bro but I'm Igbo. My value system is different from Hsusa and Yoruba. If you decide to lump us all together like Lord Lugard did and call us all Nigerians, don't expect to not to be disappointed with the value system you get |
Gwazah:Did you watch the video? The reason why the guy could do this to Okorocha is because it is in Britain, a civilised country where freedom of expression and the rule of law is adhered to. That's why when the guy confronted Okorocha, the people there did the civilised thing of calling the police and letting them dealing with it. But in Nigeria that is no where as civilised as Britain, where freedom of expression is non existent and the rule of law means nothing. If I decided to do to Okorohausa what this guy did to him in London, I would have been shot dead even before I got within a mile of Okorocha. There would be no point of me do that. Nigeria is too uncivilised for that yet. |
It is a known fact that there is a big Islamic School and Mosque in Afikpo and for years they have been trying to convert the local Igbos to Muslims. I don't think it is as high as 80% yet but they have made some coverts. I don't know what is wrong with Ebonyi people but I support the choice of anyone to choose their religion. Such an Islamic School is also in Uwani in Enugu but you will never see any Igbo step their foot in there. I think that the four other Igbo States have neglected Ebonyi for a long time and it is time to bring them fully back in the fold. We should not for get that Abakiliki people and present day Ebonyi state were by far the largest producers of food in the old eastern region. |
obailala:Don't talk nonsense. The only reason why Obiano and Ikpeazu have not been attacked the way Okorocha was is because they are yet to travel to address people in a civilised country like Britain. Attacking them in an uncivilised place like Nigeria will only lead to more killings. Rochas deserves to be attacked for being a member of the murderous APC regime that is commiting these atrocities. |
You mean General 'Brutal', sorry Burutai? The Chief of Army Staff who slaughtered over 1000 Shia Muslims so that he won't be late for an appointment with an Emir? The same man who's Army regularly gun down unarmed IPOB protesters? Oh yeah, it is such a man that we should all aspire to be........ |
Sammyashol:Military rule will only make things much worse. If you think that things are bad now, it will be 100 times worse if the Military return. There are only two ways out of the mess Nigeria is in, restructuring or secession. |
minasota:Why are you calling PDP? Isn't APC supposed to be the party of change? They have been in power for nearly a year, why is election violence still the order of the day? Look at a young man lying dead in a country that they said voted for change. |
The guy had every right to confront Okorocha. It is his muderous APC Government that is shooting and killing unarmed protesters. Why should the guy keep quiet while his people are being killed for exercising their constitutionally guaranteed right to protest? If I had been in London, I would have done the same thing to Okorocha. The APC government is truly despicable. I hope Nigerians are seeing how things are done in civilised countries? The Police put hancuffs on the guy and are calming him down while the trying to figure out what is going on. If it had been in Nigeria that the guy had confronted Okorocha, the animalistic tendency of the Nigerian security forces would have been in full swing and the guy would have been shot and killed. Africa still has a long way to go. |
You will never hear them calling Dimkas coup a 'middle Belt coup' despite most the participants coming from that area. You will never hear them calling Orkahs coup a Niger-Delta coup despite most of the participants coming from that area. But as soon they hear about Nzeogwu, it be "Igbo coup!" |
Justiyke4u:Depends on what you mean by 'Nigerians'. I'm Igbo, born and raised but I long ago rejected that colonial name 'Nigerian'. I am not a Nigerian. |
BermudaTriangle:True but what was the point of "change" if the same thing is happening under Buhari? To make matters worse, it is Buharis people doing this, one would have thought he would be the one to stop the menace of his people |
In just a very short time in office, the dictatorial regime of Buhari has managed to slaughter thousands of defenceless civilians. From the Shia mulims in the North, to IPOB shootings in the SS/SE to the Calabar Airforce bombings. I have no doubt in my mind that Buharis term in office will be the most blood thirsty of any democratic Government in the history of Nigeria |
