Okija, some of your posts on here have been funny, and I've had a good old hearty laugh, some I agree with, but not this. Family support's great, but the love for our family should not lure us into a false sense of loyalty. Some things you can ignore, some you can't. I love my family, but let's say I had a teenage son, who'd committed armed robbery, and in the process, he'd killed the person he'd robbed. Murder! Would I turn a blind eye, and in so doing, become an accessory? Hell no! Even if I lived in a state that upheld the death penalty, I would not cover up for my son.

Turning a blind eye to crime in the family is the worst thing one can do. It will run in the family, and get passed down to future generations. This pretty much passes out the message - "your brother just stoved some poor sods head in, but if the police ask, your brother was here all night." Heaven forbid I have a child that steals, robs and carries out other crimes such as kidnapping, or killings. I couldn't care less how much money such crimes bring in, I would hand such a child over to the authorities, without question. I would not have a criminal child infect the rest of my children. He / she would still remain my child, but he / she'll have to pay for their crimes. Hopefully a spell in jail will straighten him / her out. If not, then only God could help such a child.

Guy it is a tough one to choose between family and right thing to do, but a times in life you'v got to eat raw poison just to take side with family. Like someone clearly advised don't draw a battle with your bros. Call your family together in that meeting state your mind tactfully and at same time give him investment advice that would help him look the other way. coz the truth is in as much as you don't want him to get involve in something illegal, he sure would run out of his so called millions sooner. As he runs out of it, so will his taste for more increase and his likely to get himself into bigger trouble just to maintain his current life style. Forget that he is 18, he is just a kid. Good luck bro, keep a clean heart towards him.

What kind of human beings do we av in this country?? OP is concernd about his 18 yr old brother who is obviously involvd in some shady business, and some people are here saying poster is jealous. I cant believe this! This boy is 18 for crying out loud and a school cert holder for that matter! If my 23yr old brother who is a graduate but an applicant suddenly starts throwing money around without any tangible and legal source of income, i will be concerned talkless of an 18yr. What sort of biz is he into that he cant be transparent about if it is legal? This is why this country will remain where it is. Tomorrow we'll be blaming corrupt politicians and the likes of them but here we are, busy calling OP jealous. Nonsense.

@OP,Give him the benefit of doubt,demand for the benevolent Yankee friend contact.You need to thank him for his kind gestures,know what he's done/doing with your kid brother.

Sit him down and talk.Let him know the risks he's exposing himself and the family to if he is involved in anything shady.He might not even know,some guys might be using him as a 'bird' to move things and throw stones without him knowing.Little things like answering a phone,delivering/picking a mail,opening a bank account etc might appear harmless but very risky.

If after the brotherly advises(given with love and not envy) he still can't convince you of how he made the money,tell your parents seperately and if they too can't persuade him to talk then call a family meeting and let the whole family distance themselves from him till he opens up.However,if your parents don't care then its you against the family.

I actually would not want this to be a family issue like calling for a meeting because family members benefiting from him might see it as an act of envy,I have talked to him several times,besides he will not give me the contact address of his so called friend in Yankee,my parents see him as a God sent,as they believed he was destined to redeem to the family from poverty
