Fault P0496 evap emission high purge flow.


The evap valve is damaged and allows vacuum in both directions without power supply.


As for the intermittent. A.C the pressure valve socket was not attached properly, a.c is working fine now.

Test drive was successful, no noises, maybe a little squeak but it's been identified on the exhaust.

Modified.

It's the exhaust touching the shield for the fuel tank.

All nice and tight no more squeaks.

Will continue this job in the morning.

Going for a test drive, to check for squeaky, check live data readings and test engine mounts.

Instrument cluster looking better already.

Adanny, very educative post I must say. I M a regular guy on nairaland but I usually do not go beyond the front page as I am a very busy person snd I use front page to keep myself abreast of important info.

I stumbled on this whilst doing a google search as to why my 08 accord makes that noise from cold start and was startled by the revelations especially the one where it was stated that it is a general Honda 08 issue.

I bought my car from someone I know and I never really bothered to check anything major. He just informed me that he will change the ac compressor which has been working well since then (bought the car in febraury).

To be very honest the car has never given me any major issues except normal servicing which I do every 3 months based on the percentage oil change indicator.

Ok, there was a time the left side shaft pulled out after I made a sharp turn with the reverse gear. It did not engage in gear again and luckily I had boys around who helped pushed to my office cos I was very close anyway. I bought a new shaft but was surprised when after 1 month I started hearing the noise again but chose to ignore till date till next service.

I plan to get in touch with GAGUNZ.

Gagunz, I invited u on bb please accept. My pin is masked as folkows 7b****21. I hope to scan first, to know wgat all errors could be before any thing. I hope youvare not expensive o. Lol

Good morning.
Just just recently got an 08 camry i4. I noticed the car makes a deep sound(like a v6 engine dat is acc rapidly) wen I'm at top speed and subsequently the fuel consumption more Dan triples.(i use 3times more fuel for same journey to n from wrk wen compared to my 07 Accord V6). A ran a scan with no error codes but my mechanic swears wit his life that the catalysts aka indomie(he says dey r 2, one in front and one behind) has bin removed thus the guzzling of fuel. The dealer agrees that the fuel consumption is totally off buh he says sometyn abt ejector cleaner.
Pls shud I go ahead and hv the exhaust changed? (My mech says dey will both cost 50k?) If yes is dis price reasonable.
I need yur input on dis sir.
I live in bayelsa so I don't hv access to the v experienced guys in lag n abj.

I checked the car this morning ,
I checked the radiator , it was empty ,I added over 2.5liters of water before it got filled , I tried starting the car , it came up and idled for 10secs and it stalled , its not even starting again , I noticed the water in the radiator trying to gush out during the 10secs idle,

There is no sign of water in the oil and no sign of oil in the Radiator
..
What could be wrong here

Stop trying to start the car (possible hydrolock could occur) remove all sparkplugs, check for contamination with coolant. If you find any coolant (or water)replace headgasket.

If you have excessive water coming out the exhaust pipe, replace head gasket.

Setting steering turning angle.

The alignment was not possible previously because the steering angle was really off.

Removing the steering wheel and re attaching with the correct settings is what was done.

I did some research, but didn't find anything conclusive. That's how i discovered Bar's leaks and AT-205. I also follow some mechanic youtube channels...Scotty Kilmer and occasionally ask questions.

In the economic sense of it, I don't see a point spending too much money fixing a car without a significant after market value.

I once bought a jetta for 500k, used 150k to fix it when it got faulty, excluding the 25k monthly maintenance for >12months and 16k monthly fuel. Eventually sold off the car for 250k after using it for 18 months.

So, i tried using Honda place for servicing my car, but they have outrageous rates. My mechanics are 1) the guys Honda parts sellers recommend at Oyingbo where their parts are sold here and occasionally Mobil oil/ Total oil filling station mechanics, and they both independently arrived at that verdict. Honda Accord 2007 manual. However, if you can recommend another mechanic, i will check him out after weighing cost of a new engine vs replacing the seals

Pls help urgently. My Lexus RX300 jeep gearbox was damaged & then replaced. I drove jeep yesterday 14/8/15 about 120km distance and once after traffic hold up at check point, it didn't respond to acceleration promptly. It also ceased on high motion (as if gear got stuck) momentarily. Two times. I called mechanic today and he said it's brain box. Pls help. Is it possible? Check transmission oil level. Check for leaks, scan vehicle.

There's nothing wrong with your transmission/engine ECU. (99per sure) run a scan.

Good news for Ford Owners in Abuja and it’s environ.

Today I finally found a Ford Specialist in Abuja, yaay! This guy told me he will only repair my car if I promise not to sell off the car like I intended . It sounded funny but I told him, I never enjoy my Ford Escape for almost two months I bought it as a “tokunbo” car and two different mechanics had worked on it to no avail, yet a lot of money wasted.
