U probaly ran the powersteering dry and there are some trapped air bubbles give it a few days and see if it stops, or you could bleed the system. Also check level of fluid make sure its adequate. Some parts you you can get "tokumbor" or brand new "not oem" e.g cam/crank position sensors, water pumps, spark plug coils brakepads etc............. In lagos/ onitcha but if you want oem parts you might have to buy them online or get someone who stays in the u.s. |
ichakaobos: @gazzuzz, the codes I put on were given to me at the workshop I did the scan at amuwo odofin. What is the next thing to do?If you trust your scan results 1. check resistance on left front wheel speed sensor if not within standard resistance replace sensor. 2. Reset codes and rescan after drive testing. 3. If you still have the ABS left rear solenoid malfunction replace abs pump. 4. Calibrate/reprogram........... New abs pump(I guess its not plug and play) drive test and rescan for errors. 5. Post the new codes here if any. |
Jaabr: Ok thanks. What is the best in-dash stereo replacement kit you will recommend?https://www.nairaland.com/1522305/car-dash-dvd-bluetooth-gps |
Its a very nice rugged family mini van but Availiability of parts in nigeria is a problem, I used to have the 2001 model sold it cause finding good brand new parts in the north was imposible. Had to pre-order anything I needed. |
Happy to here your car is running fine. |
ichakaobos: 13-01 : left front wheel speed sensor open circuitSorry man was not making fun of you odb 11 codes come in this format P 0 1 0 1 1 2 3 4 5 1st digit P = powertrain B = Body C = Chassis 2nd digit 0 = Standard 1 = Manufacturer specific 3rd digit 1 = Emission management 2 = Injector circuit 3 = Ignition 4 = Auxiliary emission 5 = Vehicle speed & idle control 6 = Computer & output circuit 7 = TransmissionNote:OBD II oxygen sensor designation For “V” engines; BANK 1 is always on the side of the engine with the number 1 cylinder (odd cylinders), and BANK 2 is always on the side of the engine where the number 2 cylinder is always on the side of the engine where the number 2 cylinder (even cylinders) is located. E.g 37-01 should be C0080(not sure if its a honda specific code) - Left Rear ABS Solenoid #1 Circuit Malfunction |
Ur welcome. Good to know ur ride is up and running. |
lanrexdo: the check light has pooped out ..Scan, post scan results here. |

How Catalytic Converters work In the catalytic converter, there are two different types of catalyst at work, a reduction catalyst and an oxidation catalyst. Both types consist of a ceramic structure coated with a metal catalyst, usually platinum, rhodium and/or palladium. The idea is to create a structure that exposes the maximum surface area of catalyst to the exhaust stream, while also minimizing the amount of catalyst required, as the materials are extremely expensive. Some of the newest converters have even started to use gold mixed with the more traditional catalysts. Gold is cheaper than the other materials and could increase oxidation, the chemical reaction that reduces pollutants, by up to 40 percent. Most modern cars are equipped with three-way catalytic converters. This refers to the three regulated emissions it helps to reduce. The reduction catalyst is the first stage of the catalytic converter. It uses platinum and rhodium to help reduce the NOx emissions. When an NO or NO2 molecule contacts the catalyst, the catalyst rips the nitrogen atom out of the molecule and holds on to it, freeing the oxygen in the form of O2. The nitrogen atoms bond with other nitrogen atoms that are also stuck to the catalyst, forming N2. For example: 2NO => N2 + O2 or 2NO2 => N2 + 2O2 2NO => N2 + O2 or 2NO2 => N2 + 2O2 Ceramic honeycomb catalyst structure. The oxidation catalyst is the second stage of the catalytic converter. It reduces the unburned hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide by burning (oxidizing) them over a platinum and palladium catalyst. This catalyst aids the reaction of the CO and hydrocarbons with the remaining oxygen in the exhaust gas. For example: 2CO + O2 => 2CO2 There are two main types of structures used in catalytic converters -- honeycomb and ceramic beads. Most cars today use a honeycomb structure.

Jaabr: Hello guys! I need ur advice on something! I wanto replace the headlamps of my babyboy to the xenon type but some ppl were discouraging me,does it have any effect? And is the follow come any better than it?http://www.torquecars.com/articles/headlight-bulbs.php |
How Power Steering Works Hydraulic power steering is very dependable, but complex in operation. When problems occur a basic understanding prevents many expensive mistakes. Virtually all vehicles built today employ power steering. Electric steering is becoming increasingly popular, but for the foreseeable future, hydraulic steering is likely to remain prevalent. Hydraulic steering uses a pump, normally driven by a belt. The pump supplies pressure, and driver control is supplied by either the rack and pinion or a steering gear box. Much of the system is similar, whether a rack and pinion or a steering box is used. Rack and pinion offers lighter weight and more precise control. Steering gears are more durable and tolerate rough treatment far better. This is why many SUV and truck applications use steering gear boxes. With either system, fluid pressure from the pump is used to push against a piston. When the wheel is turned, pressure flows to one side and the piston moves. The piston is attached to the steering gears. Hydraulic pressure does the work, and the driver controls the direction by turning the steering wheel.

Apart from replacing the pump what other work have you had don on the steering? Did you weld any broken pipes? If all your pipes are in order I guess you still have a faulty pump. More car tips here https://www.nairaland.com/1788778/maintenance-tips-cars-quick-response#24358753 |
dinyelutochukwu: GAZZUZ You're simply a genius...Thank you sir i do my best. Have you fixed the problem on your camry? |

dinyelutochukwu: I recently noticed noise from the alternator area of my 2007 camry, I took it to a mechanic for troubleshooting, but the mechanic was just guessing wether it could be the alternator bearing or timing belt tensioner.. I just can't gamble...Have the serpentine belt removed by hand you can now check all rollable parts to find out if its from there. The Minister directed all traditional rulers in the FCT to, as a matter of necessity, start conducting periodic meetings with various communities within their domains to take stock of strange faces living with them, Which one is left? You destroyed all communities with aborigines cause you wanted their land. |
Don't worry dem go soon taya. |
Was the previous engine over heating? If no then its all about the engine you just replaced. Check the flow of water that will tell you if the water pump is working right. You can do that by opening one of the hoses while engine is running Check for oil in coolant or vice versa If it has any of this syptoms then a blown head gasket is to blame Check for coolant leaks More tips here. https://www.nairaland.com/1788778/maintenance-tips-cars-quick-response#24358753 |
amosfunmi: Thanks bro for the support. its I4 2.0 engine. What drives the water pump? Serpentine belt or timing belt? Have it checked, also check tensioners and every roller on timing belt area. A particular part that is supposed to roll is frozen or stuck. I'm just hoping your engine is non-interference ( where the piston does not travel into any area into which the valves open) if not soon we will be talking about bent valves. Please take your time and have it checked or have a professional have it looked at. |

From experience with bikes its not worth it get your self 4 wheels, and a good clean well maintained bike is not as cheap as you think, apart from the fact that a crazy road user on 3rd mainland bridge could ram into you and you find your self swimming in the ocean they don't have very good 2nd hand value. And not very easy to sell. Imagine ur self in a suit on a monday morning and then ur on ur bike looking all cool and then it starts to rain the better one that causes flood, you would get to the office looking terrible man. I'm not a golf fan, but I'm sure you could get a well maintained small car to suit your budget. tope3x: Thanks Bro. ..1.8m isn't too much for it...and the light isn't blinking. ..its been like that since I bought it...If the light blinks , means something needs to be fixed on the car...since it doesn't blinks. ..The car is good to drive.Wrong!!! There is a malfucntion that's why you have the check engine light. |
There's a quick method of checking if timing marks match up without removing the timing belt cover,(non invasive but not recommended for setting timing) 1.Turn engine to T.D.C at the zero mark 2.Ur car uses a distributor, remove the cover the distributor cap should align with the cylinder number 1 spark plug wire. If its not your timing belt skipped. 3. If your belt skipped a few rollers or water pump might be responsible. Have it checked and we can continue from there. Edited I forgot to ask is ur engine v6 or i4? |
amosfunmi: I have done. Some check this morning.Mechanical sound b4 it went off? Not good please check timing belt. |
