This is not in anyway to undermine your research, infact, it is very commendable putting this out there, I thank you for that.

I don't know if others have pointed it out already, the few pages I read, I didn't see anyone point it out. When calculating decimals for time, we don't count it like we do usual numbers because there are 60mins in an hour and not 100mins. 1hr 10mins is not 1.1hrs, if it is then 1hr 60mins will be 1.6hrs instead of 2hrs.

From your calculations, 1hr 46mins will be 1 + 46/60 = 1.77hrs and this brings the cost consumption for petrol to 500/1.76 = #284/hr

And LPG will be 3 + 17/60 = 3.28hrs. Making this 650/3.28 = #198/hr

You forgot to list the power factor (generator power rate), it also determine the amount of gas/pms per liter it consumes

Good morning oga GAZZUZ ;,,, Thank you so much for your advice .....I was at ladipo today to change the sensor.......it was changed and then I left ....but om my way home the VSC TRAC OFF LIGHT. Came back on and I started getting those warning beeps from my dashboard,,, as well as those curvy tire lines looking like my car is slippery.........PLEase sir ,at this point what do I do ,,,,I am really not comfortable driving and always getting these warning ..once I get to speed 60 and above .....Please I need your assistance

Your conversion is wrong. 3 hours 17 minutes is not the same as 3.17 hours.

17 mins is 17/60 hour = 0.28 hours.

Hence, 3 hours 17 mins = 3.28 hours.

Repeat your calculations and add the cost of converting the carburettor and other modifications.

To be fair in drawing your conclusion , it would have been clearer to a layman in the street if you had bought PMS worth of #650 same price as LPG .
That would be
PMS ——- #650 worth
LPG ———# 650

The price difference as it regards mileage would have been slimmer.
On this ground, one would conclude if the price difference or what you want to save , worths the trouble.

Will be interested in results if equal weights or equivalent volumes of fuel are used.

You should convert the PMS to a Kg weight by getting the volume of fuel that weighs 1kg. Measure out 1kg of PMS or use the mass/density relation to get the required volume of PMS. Divide 1 by 0.7436 though there's no guarantee the PMS will necessarily have this density so you could just as well 1kg of PMS.

Generally, gas is a more efficient energy source but if you don't mind please redo the test.

Please what is the spec of this Generator used in testing?

How to u regulate the intake of gas to ensure the generator is not being fed more gas than than required as this may affect rate of consumption which would ultimately affect the results obtained.

Since you are on a cost/hour comparison. It would have been equal amount for petrol and gas. #650 worth of petrol to #650 worth of gas. My 2 cents tho.
