he is considering the following :
1. fuel consumption
2. maintenance cost
3. rugged and durable considering Nigerian roads, (mainly rural roads as his area of business)
4. procurement cost (moderately priced car)
5. booth space (due to his business)
plz he needs suggestions and professional advice to make his choice.

I still do not believe in the fuel ish that damages o2 sensors and catalytic converters I have my car running for 4years never have I changed my o2 sensors. Misfires, wrong use of engine oil, wrong use of spark plugs and just to mention a few are the major destroyers of these components

ford explorer 2012 bought brand new, 43,000miles later, catalyst blocked.

Pilot 2012 bought brand new 53,000km catalyst blocked

I have seen cases like. These over 30 times in 2017 what do you think the problem is? Our driving pattern?

Good afternoon guys,

The check engine light came up on my Camry 09. The ABS light also comes on after driving on an increased speed for a while.

Had it scanned today and got the following codes:

P0420 - Catalyst system efficiency below threshold (bank 1)
C0205 - Front speed sensor LH circuit
C0200 - Front speed sensor RH circuit
C1330 - Open circuit in right front speed circuit.

The mechanic says the last three codes will be cleared after we change the defective sensors.

For the P0420 code, he advised importing new CAT and O2 sensors from outside the country as the best option (the prohibitive costs given the exchange rates make this an unlikely option at the moment). Besides, he says after the change, there's no guarantee the CEL won't still come up after some time given the fuel we use over here.

I read something on an earlier thread by adanny01 about using spacers. More info will be needed on this please. This is my first car and I as yet don't have much DIY experience.

I presently purchased a rx330. It came with a converted 10pin gearbox. I'm having 2 issues with the gear presently.
Firstly the Auxiliary makes noise and I've put oil many times but it still makes noise. I also changed it and still makes noise.
Secondly, Whenever the car Changes gear from 3 to 4 it takes like 3seconds before it finally engage. I have changed the Fiboid few times and Rewire have also confirmed there is no issue with the Gear wiring. Please what could be the Cause.
Note I have previously removed the Gear for full inspection but was told the Gear had no issue.

Okay, went online. Friction plates are inside the gear, and when worn out, causes what's know as transmission slipping.

So what's the a solution sir?

Oga gazzuzz, I use a 2003 corolla bought tokunbo exactly 1 year ago. the issue is that d car doesn't start at 1st kick... it cranks up for a long time before starting and sometimes I crank it up twice b4 it starts.. dis issue has been on for like 6weeks. a mechanic told me it is fuel nozzle dat needs servicing, another said its kick starter. I don't knw which one to believe.
I am also in need of top grade tokunbo tyres like d once u use on your cars.

My 307 catalytic converter , I sometimes see a catalytic converter faulty message. So I was having a flat gasket .
In the process of changing the gasket. I saw this and right now sincerely am scared .
Dunno how long it it will keep
Now I know we're the morning drama comes from when I start my car.

Good morning Oga Gazzuzz.
I use a corolla 2005. my car cranks but couldn't start. The mechanic checked the plugs and said i needed to get a rewire. The rewire checked and confirmed that the fuel pump needed to be replaced. I changed the fuel pump, the car couldn't start until he poured fuel into a chamber (not sure of the name) in engine. The car started he raised the acceleration severally. I drove the car for distance of 5km stoped and another 4 km yesterday. This morning I started the same car it also cranks without starting. Please I need your advice . Thanks in anticipation.
