EOD is between 300-350k, there's a 60 percent chance of getting the right engine, other wise you may waste money on an engine that's worse than the one you already have.

It's an aluminum engine, reconditioning can be difficult for our local mechanics.

Thanks for the speedy response. It is an official vehicle which I inherited from someone who exited the organization. I realized he had crashed the car before handing it over but he never reported it to management. Started using the car in November last year and have never needed to service the rear lights. I changed one of the headlights afterwards though. Could that be responsible?

i have a ford focus 2006 manual. changed compressor recently and it worked ok for about 3weeks. now it just blows air. the compressor works tho because it comes on and all. possible gas leak. i tried to book appointment but no ford option.

I got out with the car this morning, and i noticed the acceleration is not as sharp as before the misfiring issues came up.
So am thinking your explanation about late combustion of fuel has something to do with it.

how then will it explain the fact that the misfiring practically stopped after feeding it with another control signal .It doesn't add up!!Ecu will never see this as a good replacement and misfire DTC is going nowhere!!unless the OP claimed of misfiring vanishing is wrong!!

I'm 99per sure the voltage tap was from the injector.

Since it was from the injector, the combustion chamber involved will get early or late injection of fuel(i am suspecting early) the spark will still come at the right time and that split second difference will go unnoticed.

Downside, the thyristor rated to power 1 fuel injector is currently doing a 3some.

You are Over loading chips designed for a certain amount of current.

But since ultimately you are going to replace the engine Ecu, rock it till it goes.

Of course the xcent is a smaller car and gets more mileage but the Rav4 with 1az isn't bad, it's better than a camry with 2az.

I have used a 2000 4wd Rav4 with the 1AZ 2.0l engine both for city and highway driving. The fuel consumption is okay. I have used 20liters from ijebu ode to otobo.

City driving is not same as highway driving. If your aim is maximizing of profit and you are yet to decide on a vehicle to use as a taxi, a sedan with a max of a 1.8liter engine is your best bet.

Emagine how happy you would be with a hyundai I10 Xcent 1.2liter?

@gazzuzz, i've asked this question before but am sure u missed it.

i've been using an 07 camry for like 4yrs nw and it sure needs assistance from another ride, my thoughts are with d benz c230 05 or c320 . my worries are with fuel consumption, i do not want any significant change on my fuelling expensis viz-a-viz d camry ive been using, then maintenance and durability. there were arguments of the c230 kompressor being troublesome while others say the 4matics is their definate choice.


pls as a matter of professionalism, advice me.

it's a 2.4liter engine. same engine in the camry. why cant it be used if a camry can be used?
