I have always been a risk averse person. I hate anything that would raise my BP. I have always been a hard worker. At times working 2 jobs to make ends meet. Recently, while surfing the internet, I ran into articles that has to do with risk taking and looking for opportunities.
I took inventory of funds I have wasted over 3 years and I was like, it’s just over. I have sat for different examinations and at times, I passed and in some cases, I failed. I have failed the CISSP examination 3 times ( you can imagine how much I have spent).
Now, I look for opportunities and give them shots. I am tired of all these stories and working like a Jackie and living like an ant.
In conclusion, only commit what you can lose. Never and I say never borrow money to trade crypto. It can either make you rich or die prematurely. It’s easier for me cos, I can easily claim part of my losses when I file my annual tax returns.

Savings in the US is an individual thing and what you do for a living. I have a Nigerian Neigbor that works with John Hopkins as a radiologist. She earns almost 324k roughly and that’s her own income excluding her husbands income.
Now you have to figure bills and expenses. Car insurance, mortgage, life assurance, and all other incidental expenses. In addition, it also depends on how frugal the individual is. Dining out, constant shopping etc.

Yes, it’s easier for someone with a business and practice to earn more but they as well pay taxes whenever they make profits.

In conclusion, saving money in any part of the world depends on why do you for a living and how established you are. I live in the United States and I can tell you I had over 176k as taxable income in 2020 and it was very difficult to have a net savings of almost 50k USD after all expenses.

Here in Nigeria, right from the president down to the clerks are culpable. You won’t be surprised the extent of collusion in government agencies while the so called employees of the Auditor generals office palms are greased. Do you think there are not controls within those agencies? The main issue is the enforcement, compliance, audit and investigation aspect which ought to serve as both deterrent, detective and corrective measures.

Oga Accountant, which framework were you referring to? Is it IFRS or GAAP standard? Yes you design controls to prevent fraud and collusion but those controls can’t prevent everything Oga. That is one of the reasons why we detective controls ( audit and fraud investigations) and as well corrective and compensatory controls.
