Should we expect better? These are the folks that will term hardworking peeps lazy. You need to see what they drive, the kind of dress they wear and the houses they live in. There is no peace for the wicked says the Lord. They are like flowers that shines in the morning and fades away in the evening. Which life would I prefer? Yahoo yahoo or scammer or armed robbery? No, I rather work hard, earn a decent living and pray to God for divine opportunities like Jeff Bezos. Oya, give them 20 years jail term.

From Gistvic.com

Nine Nigerians, including the son of veteran Fuji musician, Kwam 1, have been arrested in the U.S and Nigeria as part of an international investigation into online “romance scams” and “mystery shopper” schemes that made victims lose at least $2 million over the past two years.

During the Chicago-based investigation, dubbed “Operation Gold Phish,” law enforcement identified a variety of cyber-enabled fraud schemes allegedly carried out by conspirators in the U.S. and Nigeria.

A criminal complaint filed Dec. 4, 2018, in U.S. District Court in Chicago charged nine defendants with conspiracy to commit wire fraud. Arrests were recently carried out in Illinois, Texas, and Nigeria, and all of the defendants are now in law enforcement custody.

The Nigerian EFCC is conducting a related investigation of other individuals in Nigeria. .

Arrested on the U.S. charges in Illinois were Daniel Samuel Eta, 35, Babatunde Ladehinde Labiyi, 20, Barnabas Oghenerukevwe Edjieh, 29, Kwam 1’s son, Sultan Omogbadebo Anifowoshe, 26, aka Ayinde; Babatunde Ibraheem Akarigidi, 39, Miracle Ayokunle Okunola, 21, Olurotimi Akitunde Idowu, 55.

Adewale Anthony Adewumi, 27, was arrested in Texas, and Olaniyi Adeleye Ogungbaiye, 26, aka DonChiChi, was arrested in Lagos, Nigeria.

Once the group got the money, they funneled the proceeds into their personal bank accounts or overseas, often Nigeria, the affidavit said. .
.
At least three times, the money was used to pay for vehicles on behalf of a Nigerian car company owned by one of the defendants. The charge in the complaint carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.

If you’ve seen the movie “Gone in 60 seconds by Nicholas Cage and Angelina Jolie” and you think they are the smartest car thieves, you’re wrong. Smarter car thieves now exists. Police in the UK raised alarm over a new mystery device being used to steal expensive cars. They call it a “RELAY ATTACK”. This automatically means the thieves have upgraded their game big time and the funny thing is they don’t even need your car keys anymore and the device being used is worth just $20 (N8000) ! The high tech device is called “RELAY BOX” and can be used to unlock cars in a matter of seconds. This is the device Police in the UK say was used to steal his Bespoke Range Rover Autobiography. These thieves are current having the best moments of their lives, Lol. This is a picture of a relay box.

https://techcapon.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/rela-768x480.jpg

How does this relay device work?

This is not exactly a new trick but most people don’t know about it yet which is why I decided to write about it. It’s a type of hack that works against vehicles’ keyless entry systems and involves two criminals working together using electronic signal-relay devices. .CCTV footage shows just how easily criminals can use a device to receive the car key signal from inside the victim’s home, transferring that signal to the second box, which is placed next to the car. The car’s system is tricked into thinking the key is there, allowing thieves to unlock the vehicle and drive away within seconds.

https://techcapon.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/creepy-2.jpg

All the criminals need to do is this. One of them stands very close to your car while the other thief comes close to your window with this $20 relay box. The thief standing close to your window or door uses this device to search for signal from your car key and the signal automatically transfers to the second device held by the thief standing close to your car. As soon as the remote signal reaches the device, the car receives it and is tricked into thinking the owner’s key is present, and is then able to be unlocked and started. In this case CCTV was only able to capture one of the thieves. There's reason to believe they were more than one.

https://techcapon.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/an-768x432.jpg

Importantly, they only work on cars that have a keyless ignition system — one that allows a driver to start the car by pushing a button after the vehicle detects a key is present. It works on 95% of these cars. This creepy device is already on sale on Amazon, Ebay and other online stores so it’s not like the device is difficult to get. Like I said before it cost just $20, that’s about N8000 in Nigeria. You can just be shopping or having lunch in a restaurant with your car key in your pocket or handbag, a thief holding that device in his pocket comes close to you can easily transfer the signal of your car key to his colleague outside and they’ll quietly zoom off into thing air.

Nigerian barbie, Bobrisky, has been denied entry into the U.K, where he is scheduled to have a Meet and Greet event this night.

According to reports, he is currently being held at a detention camp near the Heathrow airport in London and will be put on a return flight to Lagos by 10pm tonight, to arrive Nigeria by 5a.m tomorrow, ceteris paribus.

It was gathered that he was denied entry because his visa doesn’t permit him to work in the U.K, as he is in the country to make money via the event. He was also said to be in possession of some creams he intended to sell.

Guy,
You are totally wrong. If he wants to help them, he can. God has placed him in that position to help and make others smile. You live in Nigeria and you know how things work over there. To the glory of God, I don't have a thousand of what he rakes in, yet I do spare a lot to make people smile every now and then. Givers never lack my brother.
I will share my personal experience with Mikel way back in 2006. I was working in a club in London as "PEKE" that's meant for folks that understand. He came into the club and was buying beer for people, which is typical of an african. We crossed our path and I thought my savior for that day has come. Unfortunately for me, he was like do we have Nigerians doing this kind of a job in London and bla bla bla. At the end, he only gave me 10 pounds which I was grateful for. I have met people while doing that job then, that gave me 200 pounds without blinking an eye.
What I can deduce from such experience in life is that, work hard, pray to God, dont ever rely on mortals and whenever you have the opportunity, give, give and give. It is always good to give and make people smile regardless. Thats my one cent

bigtt76:
These people don't even know how this things work ....you think all that millions he's raking in is all his? Do you know how much of it he needs to spend on tax, insurance, mortgage financing, health care, fitness and so on? Do they realize he's married? Do they also realize he now has kids or his playing days are getting over?

Family, please be patient ....your seemingly wealthy relatives are not your ATM o!

Guy, you are taking a big risk. Come to think of it. Investing all your hard earned money in an unstable environment is not wise. I will quickly give a small example. Way back in 2007 when I came back from UK, I invested all my life savings into stock and bonds then. I mean I invested millions of naira into it then. It was only God that saved me from sudden death and, depression and suicide. I lost almost everything I invested due to bad policies, fraud, board members deceit and anything you can think of. I am grateful to God for another opportunity and will not advise a young man to invest all his savings into an environment that is unstable like we have in Nigeria.

TravelRe: Abandoning Nigeria's Good Life For The Us,its A Blessing If.... by Gbabe2: 9:10pm On Mar 05, 2018
@ Goldenboy,

There is no cut and paste way of living in America. Yes, we should not copy their way of life and endeavor to save money which I agree with.
But unfortunately, I dont agree with investing all your life savings back home in Nigeria. Do you mean, I should commit all my savings into something I dont have control over? Ask them to help run businesses that I live over 6000 miles away from? Ask them to build a modern house which I dont have plans to live in the next 25 years? Never, my brother. That sounds to be an idea for illegal immigrant. It all depends on where you are coming from. By Gods grace, I live in Owings Mills, Maryland where things are very expensive. I used to rent a house when I had a small house. Now I have two young adults and I wouldn't wnat them to grow up in a crazy neighborhood. That said, I have look for a serene environment where my kids will have access to good schools and mix with kids of good background. Where I live now, the majority of the folks in my neighborhood are Indians. I don't want to be penny wise and pound foolish. I also read one of your posts where you said people should spend cash and you made reference to when you bought your baby (nice car though). Guy, without a good credit, you can not and I mean you cannot buy anything substantial in the USA. You have plans to buy a house, you need a good credit which is only obtainable via taking credit cards and paying your bills as soon as its possible. The only objection I have is that when you buy things that are unnecessary with you credit cards is going to be a big problem. When you live above your income is also going to be a problem. Guy, I have over 100k dollars in credit cards that I dont access but will definitely use it when necessary. In addition to this, I got a lot of those cards when I had like 18 months interest-free period. That said, there is no cut and paste way of living in America. What worked for you might not work for me but we should learn to be very prudent and live within our income.
Cheers.

Goldenboy007:
The hybrid Immigrant

Hi everyone - it's been a busy January for me, all the new year resolution and plans, well I always try to update this topic whenever I discover something new.

The hybrid Immigrant - One of the mistakes immigrants make is trying to become an American in lifestyle. The beginning of our problem is when we forget where we are coming from. You are not an American, you are a Nigerian living in US. You cannot compare yourself to someone that was born in America and have been working since the age of 16, you came in late and have to start all over again. Americans have their lives planned - they start early with their retirement plans, they plan when to get married, number of kids to have, when to buy a car, when to buy a house, when to go on vacation and when to retire. You started your life in Nigeria - your time was wasted by a system they have not worked till today - you move into US with nothing and within 4 years - you want to buy a house, buy a car, have a robust 401k(retirement plan), create college funds for your kids and go on vacation. All you will succeed in doing is running into debt.
The truth is - Its fairly easy to save money in Nigeria but country like US controls your disposable income. You can become a billionaire overnight in Nigeria but in America you need to painstakingly work to build wealth over the years. You are paid an amount that is just enough for your daily living, taxes make sure of that.
Let's consider this scenerio - if you work in a good company in Nigeria and you earn N800k per month after tax, your rent probably like N1.5m per year. 2 months salary will cover your rent for the year, all other expenses per month is like N200k. After taking care of the rent in 2 months - rest of the year you have N600k to play around with. In US you earn like $5k per month - your rent is like $1600 for a 2 bed in a good neighborhood, you pay insurance , you pay utilities - gas, water, heat, electricity, cable, phone bill, you pay car loan, you pay student loan, you pay credit card debts - God help you have kids - groceries, clothing, health bills - copay, at the end of the month - you hardly have $500 left. What of retirement ? You need to have worked for average 35 years for your 401k to be enough to cater for your retirement in US - that's why you see people work till their grey years before they can retire. So imagine you got into US at age 30 - at 65 you are still working.
People may argue that a good job in US will change the story - I am surrounded by people with great IT jobs, with managers in company with 6 figures ...the story is the same - the more you earn the more your expenses.

What I advise people is to take advantage of both worlds, don't spend America's money in America , invest it back home where little dollars make more Naira. Build your retirement back home. If you buy a house in America - the house is never your own - even if you fully pay off the mortgage , you will pay tax for the rest of your life - mortgage tax can be like rent for life, you never truly own that house. The day you default in your taxes - over time your house would be taken, in Nigeria when you build your house - you own the land , the house and the sky above it.
Live like an hybrid Immigrant - work in US but take advantage of your connection to Nigeria - bring business in - see what they don't have in US, bring over - see what they don't have in Nigeria and bring in - trade. Make every dollar counts. We cannot run away forever - racism will never stop till the world ends - let build our country so that we can come home to retire rather than die in old people's home in a foreign country.

That's my little advice today - you can contribute, criticize and commend but do not insult people on this thread. We are all learning.

I'm also a consultant...I have macro and micro economics skills...i hold on to my initial point of view..
Obviously, you dont know what you are talking about or rather you have lost touch with whats going on in this field. Going by what you stated here, 300, 000 chicks with 7.5 million is absolute nonsense. How much do you think a chick cost? how much do either rent or buy pen houses? what about feeding cost which is very high these days. The guy is on the right track and he needs encouragement. I hate it when I see folks ascribing what they are not to themselves and spewing rubbish. Do you even think it's easy to float a business of that amount in this present economy and yet all you can do is to state things that are not grounded with facts. Guy, quote me any time, it is not possible for you to raise 12,000 point of lay with 7.5 million not to talk of the 300,000 birds as you have stated.
Christianity EtcPastor Convert/changes MFM Churuch To His Own by Gbabe2(op): 1:59am On Mar 31, 2016
Wonders shall never end! Its right time for we christian to be very careful of these so called men of God. Pastor Adetunji of MFM Bowie, Maryland USA converts a branch of MFM to his own. He was alleged to have sent an email to the GO of MFM ( Dr Olukoya) saying after serving him for the past 18 years and managing the church (MFM Bowie) that its time for him to move on. Having sent the email to his GO, he later changed the billboard of MFM church to "CHRIST THE TRUTH MINISTRIES" and and even instructed the police to monitor the church in case of any disturbance.
My question is? who owns the church? where did they get the money to build the church? is it right for the so called man of God to convert what belongs to God and make himself a GO?

I am not a fan of any of these politicians but i am an advocate of a good system bro. I cant compare Nigeria with any of these advanced countries in any way. Not in this generation at all. Altogether , PDP has ruled us for over 15 years consecutively without anything to show for it bro.
Do you know how many young adults that graduates every year without anything to show for the productive years spent in school? Do you know the extent of illicit funds stacked somewhere by these thieves ( we now celebrate)? I am telling you the truth in all honesty that if we have a system in place, all these thieves will be languishing in prison or run away. My brother, what can we even be proud of? No refinery despite the huge sum of money realized every year, No good road, No power despite the billions being allocated for it in every dispensation, No good health care facility any where (that's why you see all of them travelling overseas to seek medical facilities), no security (thats why you see them drive in bullet proof and bomb proof cars) etc. Do i want to remind you that no one has been prosecuted for fraud related offences in this administration. I am a christian but if a pagan can deliver result and lay the foundation for us bro, i will vote and canvass for his votes as well. There is no future for us in Nigeria if all we can produce is GEJ and PEJ all because of tribal sentiments. I was not young when MKO Abiola was voted for in 1993. People voted without any sentiments ( tribal or religious) all because they believed in him. My one cent for you is that we should vote for the right person without attaching any sentiment bro.

You expect Nigeria to develop and be better like usa within four years, which is totally impossible. Development and transformation is not something that begins and ends with one aministration, rather,it is a contenous process . Gej is the best as for now and will still remain the best. I can swear with my life that since the advent of Gej,there has been a change. Whether you like it or not,Gej is a good person, i and millions of Nigerians are solidly behind him. If you are not satisfied then name your candidate that is better him! I know you will still look for an excuse not to present your candidate.

Explorer 250,

I guess you belong to this millennium. I am sorry but you can ask from adults what their expectations were when they were growing up?
Having a decent life has a lot do with governance and good management. Do you know how many graduates we have in this country that cant even feed themselves? Do you know the rot in the healthcare, education, no good infrastructure etc? Young man, my piece of advice for you is that you should ask questions from knowledgeable adults before forming opinions. We deserve far more than what we currently have (GEJ) in Nigeria bro.

explorer250:
I am not campaighning for PDP. The truth is that the system is really corrupt, accepted. But the problem is that there is no worthy replacement. Apc is equal to Pdp(APC=PDP). So Gej is the best for now. My you those countries you mentioned are not doing better than Us.

Guy, they dont have the resources Nigeria has and they are laying a good structure bro for their future. Have you ever thought of how much we make daily on our crude oil, Taxes etc?
We should lay emphasis on a good structure not campaigning for our country man. GEJ rode on public sympathy to become a president in Nigeria (he doesnt have the characteristics). My point is let a competent person be voted for. GEJ and these PDP government has failed the populace, let another set of people rule us so we can have something to compare with.

I have a question for bro? why do we celebrate mediocrity in our beloved country Nigeria?
Look at Great Britain......after several years of both Blair and Gordons brown reign, people were tired of their policies and voted them out. Now the conservatives are there and policies are not favorable to the populace. Check USA out. After several years of Republicans reign, people voted them out and they now have the democrats in government. After several years of PDP's reign in Nigeria, what have we got to celebrate? No light, no good system, no good roads, no security, no good education, no good infrastructure, corruption and fraud everyday without a single person being successfully prosecuted. Boy, wake up. This is not the type of democracy we have praying for. Does it take eternity to have a structure on ground? bro, there are no checks and balances at all in Nigeria. The presidency dictates what the system should do ( through their body language and buying out the so called judges) (look at Ibori's case now, Dimeji Bankole, Alams, Pension fraud scam, oil subsidy fraud, NNPC fraud, Abachas case thwarted, and many more). I have been privileged to visit Rwanda, Kenya, Burundi,Congo and Sudan. Its disgusting when you see these small countries with their peculiar problems thriving and Nigeria cant. i am not a politician but there is this adage that says how do you expect to see a different result when you do the same thing several times without number.PDP is a mistake bro and lets try another set of people with different ideologies. A typical example was what happened in Ekiti. people were tired of APC and they voted them out. lets use our vote wisely and not based on sentiments or tribal issues and stop campaigning for repeated PDP failures bro.

explorer250:
thumbs up bro. I dont know how many country that has impeached their president because of terrorism. Is it pakistan, iran, iraq, afghanistan or yemen? None of them has done so. My question remains if not Gej who else? who is better than him? Bro watch and see how the will still skip this question and talk about another trash.

Thumbs up.
Nice write up.

smithsammy:
as much as I can tell, you are only reading a script. No one hated him in the first place, we all voted for him. As an adage affirms: "the end always justify the means" majority of Nigerians have realised that they chose the wrong means to achieving their ends - stable electricity, good governance, law and order, good administration et al. He may be a good man as a person, but he does fit the role of a president.

So you are canvassing for someone you can trust? Its so sad a young man like you can say all these on social media.
I am so sorry for you guys, cos the unborn generations future has been mortgaged by these God forsaken politicians.

explorer250:
please stop using the word "we" use "I" because millions are ready to stop him. Beside he is not the first president to promise and fail. Every politician that ruled nigeria has not been able to fufill all their promises including obj. But none of you barked like this rather you even voted him into 2nd term. Where on earth have you seen 24hr power supply achieved within 4yrs? Gej has shown more commitment in the power sector more than the past leaders and you know that. If you think that Gej is a mediocry and should be voted out of power then "WHO IS ABOVE MEDIOCRITY THAT SHOULD BE VOTED INTO POWER?" that is my question pls answer me

Oga and then what happened when someone was convicted of corruption? he becomes a governor or he has the support of his government?
Its quite disheartening when you read stuffs written by some people all because they want their country men to be in power.
Have you ever been privileged to visit african countries at all not to talk of obodo oyinbo? It seems we dont even have any expectation at all as Nigerians. My one cent for you is to critically assess your environment before writing crap on social media.
Do you know how many young future Nigerians that died during the immigration recruitment? If your brother or sister was involved, would you ever come here to praise GEJ? Explorer, sit down somewhere and see as events unfold and Power Change hands in Nigeria bro.

explorer250:
then go to hell. Last month one of the past chinese leaders was convicted for corruption charges. No country on Earth is 100% corruption free. Get your facts right! At least make google your friend. This another problem with some nigerians. We expect our leaders to be 100% corruption free which is impossible. Even if you in person is made president today, you will still loot seeing the trillions.
