OP, studying abroad is great and all. But there is nothing worse than doing that and not getting work 2,3 sometimes 4 years after grad. (worst case scenario). I've got friends with degrees in Law, Engineering, The Sciences who got back and are working in small businesses, sales jobs and last but not least smashing their heads on the proverbial "oil and gas" wall. And sometimes it can be more of a hindrance than an advantage. Imagine going in for a job interview only to be dropped not because you have poor interview skills, but because they expect that with your qualifications, you would be more likely to leave them soon?!!. That has been my experience, on not less than two occasions. So please by all means travel, but know this. Your international degree (MSc) might not be worth the paper its printed on... HAVE AN EXIT PLAN! Re-invent yourself, start a small business, alone or with business partners |
At least give a location |

wesley80: The possibility of an earthquake striking close to home is remote and vitually impossible though we might suffer from minor effect of a tsunami but all in all, even the effect of that should be minimal considering how far off we are except there's one of gargantuan proportion. Eathquakes only occur along well mapped faultlines (see map at 2.bp..com/_ypalM7eSBEQ/SdzT_ajylVI/AAAAAAAAAbM/XNB1-z6lvKg/s1600-h/tectonic_map.jpg) which Ngr and most of Africa are thankfully away from and a number of factors including our soil type reduces our succeptibility to such tremors and ground collapses like we see elsewhere. I guess that's why the Bible mentions such a thing as "Habitable part of the earth"!if i might cut in. U sound learned, soo let me ask u this...yes we dnt get the earthquakes/tsunamis and so on, but do believe that Africa still gets it fair share of disasters . Look lake Nyos and others just like it, no place on earth is safe. |
Its a little known fact that homosexuality is, i repeat not a "western culture" or something they dumped on us .they are just a little more liberal in their views. Lets just say man (men and women) has been twisted wayyyyy before western civilisation. And yeah i'm not homophobic, but seeing 2 homos in a week is more than enough for me. But is it just me or are both sexes beginning to get turned on by Lesbos ( for guys) and gays ( for the gals)...sad |
And yet again we had to wait for a US agency to knw that even happened. A 5.8 may sound small and off the coast, but what happens when its a 7.2 or an 8. NIMA or whateva they call themselves shld on alert o, or the poo is going to hit the fan ![]() |

Suprising thing is 90% of his detractors dnt knw diddly-squat on how to even protect themselves not to talk of predicting bombings. |
I ammmmmmmmmmm. I love my phone!! But the problem is the battery life, it dies easily
That's probably due to the brightness settings, or vibrating alarms or even games/software you use. Try using softwares without pop-ups (extra adverts)Same thing with my HTC Wildfire, just did the things i listed and voila!!! |
I hope FASH is listening.... |

Newsprint Sellers in Naija , Beware of NDUKA OBAIGBENAA word of wisdom to Newsprint Importers and sellers in Nigeria, beware of Nduka Obaigbena and his “company” who are the biggest consumers of the Newsprint 34”. The dude buys on credit, his agents raise Local Purchase orders (LPO) for a 30 –day transaction, which could end up taking 1 to 2 years depending on your luck of course. About 2 years ago, one of the suppliers went into a coma, over the amount owed him by Obaigbena’s company. This “supplier’s” relatives even went to the extent of meeting with him, but to no avail. Recently, this “supplier” had to go to the extent of obtaining a court order to close down his business, just so he could paid what he was owed. And another thing, Is Nduka Obaigbena really bigger than the Nigerian Judicial System as he boasts to be?. This guy’s being taken to the EFCC by his suppliers but, well as today most of these debts are yet to be paid. So are our Laws so lax, so weak, that an individual and his company could, single-handedly, ruin lives and businesses and in most cases, dependents. Also, what’s up with George W. Bush, Clinton, Mr. Tony Blair, Condoleezza Rice, the list goes on. These are undeniably great people, great minds who get invited and take honors from his awards programs and music shows. These should have raise questions about his integrity, but he’s fortunate to be in a Nigerian system, where the King gets to ride both his horse and his servant’s. I think something really needs to done about this guy, and I hope it’s done soon. I'm just saying ![]() |
