If you've made SEVIS fee payment, please add the receipt.

Good evening all
Please is Sevis fee receipt compulsory for emergency request?

It’s optional as indicated on the portal
But I’ll appreciate feedback from the gurus in the house
Thanks

Please don't stop helping out.

Once again, congratulations her Husband’s wife. Lol

The other day, one guy (predst*n) said ‘we’ saying “gibberish” because ‘we’ are trying to ‘help’ with ‘our’ 2cent on mock reviews. Lol. Since then we stopped, to avoid ‘bad reviews’ on the name Moshkom.

Again, congratulations and fly safe, Ma!

It's a sad thing that some people will come here, get massive help from this thread, get their visa approved and never come back to drop their transcript. Even if you were delayed, it's not an excuse not to drop your transcript.

Bro, considering the facts you just painted...I'll advise you pursue it. Schedule for your interview, go grab that Visa and play for your money. After the tournament, pursue the change of status with faith. After all, you've got nothing to lose then. So, your headache now should be how to get the B1/B2 Visa.

Olatemmanuel01:

Thanks for you enlightenment. But I have to play this tournament because there is an huge amount of money in it for all the players going but the tournament is only lasting for two months. Whereas I also want to study in the united states, I've even paid my visa fee but I've not scheduled yet.
So is it that people who successfully change their nonimigrant status while in the states from b1/b2 to f1 very rare
And what will you advice me to do in this case
Travel / Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 16 by gbarinze(m): 7:32pm On Jan 29, 2022
If you're applying together, they may likely not ask you anything. All the questions will be directed to him. In any case, it's always a red flag to tell the VO you're doing nothing. If however you're asked (or he is asked) why you're going with him, it should be that you'll be briefly there to help him settle down and also have your honeymoon together, then return to Nigeria to continue your compulsory NYSC program.

GAPPLE:
Thanks boss. We are applying together.

I would have been done with my NYSC before we go for the interview.

Do you mean I can still claim I am a serving corp member?

Thanks

If you'll not be going for the interview with him, like you guys are not applying together...I'll advice you tell them that you're still serving and make sure you also have that fact covered in your DS-160.

GAPPLE:
I am a serving corp member and I will be done most likely few weeks to our wedding.

If the VO asks what I do?
Kindly suggest to me what I can say, I don't think saying I am jobless sounds proper eventhough I am going as F2.

Thank you all

@Olatemmanuel01
The truth is that it's always difficult to change status from B1/B2 Visa to F1 Visa in the States. Trust me, the process is cumbersome and takes a long duration. You can't even start classes until the change is effected and sometimes the process may prolong until mid-term. Then that becomes a problem as you can't resume then.

Most times, they may end up asking you to return to your home country to apply for the F1 Visa.

So, my dear: it's better you go for what you want from the onset. If the reason for going for the tournament is to start school later, just calm down and apply for F1 visa.

UmmZayd:

Are you going for tournament or you are going for tournament so you can change your visa to a student visa which one??

Anyways, you can change your visa status while in the US. You can read more about the terms and conditions on the US embassy website.

Best of luck

Although you don't have your I-20 yet and you've not paid the SEVIS fee, you can still go ahead to book a date for your interview. This is the trick: Pay the visa/MVR fee. Commence the DS-160 process and save your Application ID, you will not complete or submit the form as you don't have your SEVIS ID yet, however, proceed to book a date with the Application ID. Once you have your SEVIS ID, complete and submit the DS-160 form, but this must be done within 30 days.
Remember, you'll have to pay the SEVIS fee 3 days before your interview date.

sbot:

No.

You’d need a ds-160 form ID. Before you can obtain this ID, you’d need to fill an online form (ds-160) with your SEVIS ID which is contained in your form I-20.

Cheers!

What of if the person applying is married here in Nigeria will it still be a red flag?

If the applicant is married, it's a plus. But there are still other factors to consider. How did the relative who's in US get there. It may not be favourable if the relative got there via nonimmigrant visa and remained there. Remember, they may also want to know what the applicant's husband is doing in Nigeria. Does she have funding from the school? All these and more will count

What if the person filled her sponsor is from the same location in the US where she wants to school but has not done the interview yet, because she defer her admission to fall, can she use another sponsor from Nigeria for the new I-20 she is requesting for and fill a new ds-160 form and update it before the interview date?
Since the old ds-160 form has expired
Will they still know

You can always update your DS-160 Form at least 3 days before your interview date, as long as the Form is not up to 30 days. You can also fill out and submit a new DS-160 Form and update your CGI profile. And for the I-20, yes you can ask the school to update your status if there's any change in status, like your sponsor.

Please guys I need answers.

Applying to a school in the same location where you have indicated your relative lives has always been a red flag.
Now, it may worsen her situation if she change the fact of her brother being there, because they now have all those facts. I think the best shot here is to opt for another different school entirely, located outside the area where the brother lives

Please, kick search your INTERVIEW DATE search now and try get a date in the bracket of 60days before your August resumption. PLEASE!

You should fill your DS160 within 1month of your Interview date. You need some info on the Ds160 to complete the visa date page, so you fill both hand-in-hand and can submit this or that before that and this.

Shalom!

Thank you for this

She typed for a while and reach out to the white paper and said congratulations… who cares about the rest

I am still in shock, God is faithful, never give up on your dreams. I have been on this since 2016 but God did it in 2022. I was divinely favoured all through.. i stammered and stammered but the lady actually was calm with me. I will never be ungrateful to God.

Guys, pls don’t give up on your dreams, my application is another example to us that God will do it at the right time. DON’T GIVE UP

Congratulations! I'm not sure you'll get a visa this early, to the best of my knowledge. New student visas (F and M) can be issued up to 120 days before the start of a term of study. However, you will not be permitted to enter the US on your visa more than 30 days prior to the start date printed on your I-20.

Thank you seriously!
