Pa Eziachi, so good to hear from you. Hope you are well Sir. Another excellent and balanced write-up. Hope you will stick around to at least help look at the new cabinet post May 29th. Wishing you a happy Easter.

Nairalanders, read from the very wise and honourable Pa Eziachi further real and on-the-ground damnation about the conduct of "democrat" GEJ. I am telling you all to be calm because revelations about GEJ rule will shock Nigerians. He was simply self-serving to the end. Nothing else. I agree with Eziachi that GEJ deserves some respect for throwing in the towel even if he was forced to but it is now becoming nauseating how his supporters want to transform this failure of 5 years, who we can never forget destroyed many lives, into a champion of democracy. GEJ has no positive legacy and his army off losers want him to go out with this "democracy champion" accolade by force. Won't work because we are not even anywhere near knowing the real Jonathan and what he did in office. Intelligent folks know the truth about this new ruse and fraud seeking to deify an outgoing GEJ a "democrat. We shall see. I am a patient man cool cool

Eziachi:
It is no secret that I personally had never rated Goodluck Jonathan as a leader right from his days as a deputy governor in Bayelsa, and nothing to do with just his presidency. I have always maintained that he was among those a certain faith usually placed on the Nigeria accidental leadership conveyer belt that began with Tafawa Balewa.

For the first time since Jonathan stumbled upon the leadership of Nigeria he made a decisive decision without going if, can I or should I that had plagued his leadership from day one, that has often resulted in bad news that could have been avoided. It was such indecisiveness that cost him a second term as president.

That first time decisive action was his decision to thrown in the towel when it was obvious that that the evil day they conspired to postpone for six weeks is not going away and now a complete reality especially after that Orubebe show of shame, as Obama and the Americans, plus the EU were kneeling on his back and probably the words of his former godfather (OBJ) was ringing in his ears about the Gbagbo’s outcome effect.

So I commended Jonathan for saving self that agony, saving innocent kids in Niger Delta of whom leeches like Orubebe has already mapped out evil plans to sacrifice. It must have been difficult for him to call it a day, especially with the sort of pressure his power drunken Mrs could have mounted on him to fight rather than to go quietly.

Having said that, it a bit going over the top, calling Jonathan a hero, the saviour of Nigeria democracy, the highest statesman etc by some crack head politicians and their supporters who cost him the election in the first place through their actions, inactions and zombie like utterances. Jonathan did what any sensible person will do when you got no choice or any positive alternatives. Calling Jonathan a hero is like calling a starving person a hero for gulping down a cheeseburger with a bottle of ice cold cola.

I was in Orlu on the elections day and saw how the whole place was locked down with armoured personnel carriers. However, the indiscriminate arrest of those the perceived to be their opponent and intimidation was very scary. By the evening on the Election Day, the whole of Mgbee Road in Orlu town leading to Ideato towards Ogboko where Mr Okorocha hails from was like a military war zone. I witnessed this first hand, not through internet posted pictures. That is not what a hero of democracy inspires his foot soldiers to do.

Having said all that, Jonathan deserved some respect and must be commended and emulated by all leaders, especially those in Nigeria to accept defeat when it’s a real defeat and to say no when it’s a fraudulent defeat through peaceful means, like Al Gore did in 2001 or Fayemi in 2014.
In fact, most African leaders ARE already ahead in terms of accepting defeat, irrespective of the so called incumbency when they lose.

And have you seen how relax Jonathan looks this days since conceding defeat to Mr Buhari? I was telling my wife that he must have had the best sleep in 6 years that night. Suddenly he is free, from the Chibok girls to the empty treasury he will leave behind.

If you inspect the past utterances of these Jonathanians losers and TANdroids you will see they all stand disgraced and totally discredited. From the 'protection seeker' telling us Jonathan will "sweep the SW" to the hack threatening that "No GEJ no SW/North access to SE/SS oil". These are not the sort of discredited losers, empty chest beaters, braggarts and charlatans anyone should take seriously or waste their own time on. Let us just continue to wait and see.

They are now seeking to find a saving grace for a horrendously failed Presidency of 5 years. These immature mugus do not know that being seen as a democrat will be the least of GEJ's worries post May 29 when the new Government begins to gain access to all the atrocities the GEJ government committed in office. Lamentation of LOSERS. Keep at it. Whether you like it or not, Buhari will rule this country better than anyone before him. You guys can commit suicide, for all i care.
Precisely. That is what they are. They are all liars as well happy to lie to themselves and others. The PDP was not ready to hand over and the entire world knew this and was ready for them. look at the video below where the fat bastard Okupe was threatening and shouting that Buhari "will never rule Nigeria". Where do people think Fayose, FFK, Mama Piss et al got the audacity to be insulting Buhari so much if they genuinely believed he had a chance to become their President? Would any of us do it? Does it making sense acting as they did unless they were sure Buhari would "never rule Nigeria"? They had sworn never to hand over to Buhari and put numerous plans in place to ensure this. This is why they all insulted Buhari at will and thoroughly thrashed the man, his family and his good name and reputation.

What they did not bargain for was GEJ acting to save his own skin, when pressure from home and abroad descended on him, and throwing them under the bus to the extent they are all on their own and Allison-Madueke has paid a visit to Abdulsalami's home which she probably has never visited in all her time in Government. Let us watch as things unravel. I can tell you TANdroids will be disgraced again because they do not know and will never understand what motivates the self-serving man they worship who remains about self-preservation above everything else.

nduchucks:
The peace accord put together by Abdulsalami and others, which was publicly signed by GEJ and Buhari is the primary reason why GEJ conceded so quickly. GEJ did not concede out of the goodness of his heart, far from it.

When Faka was calling for the stoning of Buhari supporters and making other irresponsible and provocative statements on the campaign trail, she was called out. Faka's attitude and irresponsible behavior coupled by those of FFK, Okupe, and Orubebe, were enough to cause Buhari to suspect that GEJ had no intentions of accepting defeat.

You people can continue to wallow in denial as you deem fit.
My brother, don't bother explaining anything to these losers and desperately dishonest revisionists. Is it Jonathan who divided Nigerian Governors and empowered the "15 is greater than 19" NGF election farce we are supposed to see as a champion of democracy? Is it GEJ who ordered our AGF, Adoke Bello, and former IGP, Ringim, to spring Teslim Folarin from a murder charge and have him flown to Abuja on a Presidential jet to deliver delegate votes to defeat Atiku in 2010 that is now an "exemplary democrat"? Desperation all the way to directly influencing the release of an alleged Murderer for God sake?

We all know the examples, too many to list, that expose GEJ as a self-serving desperado ready to do anything to get his way and remain in power. Did he not watch more than 15,000.00 die over 4 years only to then initiate military action when it was obvious he was going to lose the elections? Even revelations to come about Boko Haram will shock Nigerians. Like I said above, and for those always speaking rashly to then look foolish later, we will see the wikileaks-style 'extra information' that will suddenly begin to come out when GEJ after May 29th and the press no longer have to respect him or deal with him cordially.
PoliticsRe: Buhari: We Feared Jonathan will Not Accept Defeat - Vanguard by Gbawe:
I see the usual Jonathanian losers and shameless TANdroids are here talking nonsense as expected. The fact any pragmatically honest and balanced person will not deny is that Jonathan, over 5 years, has shown a level of callousness, cunning, political desperation and total lack of principles to make a solid case for sensible people believing he will do anything but hand over power. Obviously he has conceded defeat and now his losers will look for ways to spin him in a positive light. Well, all I will say to the forum is that I am a patient man. I waited patiently, since joining NL in 2009, and never left till PDP was ousted at the centre.

I will now wait for GEJ to leave and then be without any sort of power at all. We shall see how long it takes for the truth to begin coming out as per why GEJ conceded defeat and congratulated Buhari quickly to leave you desperate charlatans disgraced again. The problem is that GEJ is supported by follwers who are like him. I.e not very intelligent and quick to rash actions/actions utterance that later comes back to destroy and disgrace them. I realise trying to launder GEJ's image as some 'champion of democracy' is all that his sentimental and impulsive followers have left as the only thing to hold on to. Well, talk all you want. You lot usually do only to be disgraced. I will only warn you, as I usually do, wait and see. You people never ever learn. Wait till there is no reason for anyone to respect GEJ any more or accord him cordiality. Not long to wait.

I said it before the election that PDP loudmouths like FFK, Fayose, Okupe et al should note that you could become nothing overnight minus power. GEJ was always lacking as a leader even as President of the biggest black nation on earth. Without power, how will such a man look out for others like Allison-Madueke while he is busy negotiating a 'soft landing' that will allow him to go and enjoy his loot in Otuoke?

Nigerians are yet to understand that Jonathan took a plea deal which will mean he is not disgraced and hounded yet others under him are fair game. This is why Allison-Madueke is on this begging mission that many of her PDP peers will be embarking on from now till Buhari is sworn in.

I am not a fan of Saraki- too much baggage but he has paid his dues, he took risks to work for the APC and boy he delivered. Kwara is now a APC state.

If the PDP did not rig heavily in Anambra, Ngige would have won hands down. He would have been my preferred choice. Going forward, it is only sensible that Saraki from the NC gets the Senate Presidency.
My opinion too. It should be Ngige. Yet he is no longer a Senator after May 29th. After all is said and done, Saraki is probably the best choice. Like you, I agree he has baggage but he seems to have come of age and appears to be at that level where Politicians begin to eye a positive legacy. He might see his position as redemption and a second chance to be a dynamic and pro-people Senate President perhaps preparing the grounds for a future presidential challenge. His commitment to the APC cause and hard work on behalf of the Party is commendable and indicative of how he is a determined and resourceful character who could be very useful helping the APC pass laws beneficial for Nigeria.

My good friend Tochukwu has now come to his senses. Voting for APC governors, which is not going to happen anyway in alaigbo, is not really needed. Buhari will show you why me and others told you not to hate or resist him. His government will be fair and equitable to all. Igbos would not be marginalised or relegated to the background as the openly clannish and ethnocentric Jonathan did to the Yorubas.

Buhari has already said he will work for Nigerians who voted for him, those who voted against him and those who did not vote at all. Anybody who has anything special to contribute to the progess of Nigeria will be included in the Buhari "make Nigeria great" project. With Buhari it will not be about 'starving', sabotaging and discriminating against PDP states as the PDP openly did against others for 16 years. In any case, I believe the PDP will find it diffcult to survive because once Buhari begins to lead by example then Nigerians will all follow to make Nigeria work. The APC will then continue to be the choice of the majority by far.

Prejudice and discrimination hurt people greatly. We should not tolerate it or those who practice it. I believe those who are open and unrepentant bigots should be shamed as obtains in progressive societies. That is another way to develop Nigeria and foster ethnic unity. Bigots should be shamed and showed there is no place for them in society.

When we "see the funny side" then Nigeria will continue to be the joke it is today where some leaders can openly make discriminatory statements before our president and all is waved off as a joke. I guess we all have different outlook based on our experiences. I personally think Nigerians tolerate and promote prejudice unacceptably. Progressive societies should not tolerate open bigotry, hate speeches and discriminatory hatred against anyone.

Perhaps I am too used to an environment where a white person is jailed for racially mocking on twitter a black footballer who had a heart attack on the pitch. We have different threshold of tolerance for hateful and malevolent bigots. I think they are nothing to joke about and speak to them like the scum they are but I concede you are entitled to see the 'funny side' and indulge those sort. Your prerogative entirely.

Don't mind these losers forever eager to spin GEJ in a positive light. I told them all before the election that a very powerful system, consisting of Nigerian and international 'players', wanted GEJ out. They realised he will make Nigeria fail if allowed to continue. This is a very powerful and influential lobby group the average Nigerian is not aware and thus did not account for. This group monitored and 'man-marked' every move GEJ made with the intention of leaving him no 'manoeuvre' room to frustrate the will of the people and sit-tight.

It was some in this group, from the west specifically, that moved to convince GEJ to accept the result as soon as they all knew, as early as Sunday, that Buhari had won. They made it clear to GEJ the implications of any sit-tight shenanigans which then goes on to cause chaos. Me and you know GEJ is the uber self-preservationist . Some can continue to delude themselves about GEJ being a democrat yet we know better. For me they can even nominate GEJ to replace Ban Ki Moon at the UN. I don't care. Good riddance to bad rubbish. What matters to me is that GEJ will no longer lead my beloved Nigeria beyond May 29 and that it is Buhari who takes over from him.
