We are no more under the lawless system that throws up Fayose.
Fayose mess up the integrity of we Ekiti indigene working outside our home state.
Better advise him to respond to all the allegations raised against him.
You people forget that tomorrow election winners will still wait till June before they can function.
Fayose is going. No retreat no surrender.
Thank you . It seems some people cannot understand this simple concept you have stated here. I think the 16 years lawlessness of the PDP has warped the moral compass of many Nigerians. Because all manner of illegality went on under the PDP does not mean such belongs in a sane Country that functions efficiently with strict adherence to the rule of law.

Under Buhari it will not only be about doing the right thing alone but also about Government being seen to do the right thing always to lead by example. We all know Fayose violated the rule of law and pissed on the democratic tenets our constitution and governance is based on. He should pay for this with his job to set an example to others that Nigeria is no longer under the PDP and that criminal conduct and leadership impunity will no longer be tolerated.

To be honest, I am waiting for the period after Buhari is sworn in. Yes the international community brokered a deal to see peace reign and give GEJ a 'soft landing' in the process but why should Jonathan not be held accountable for the preventable deaths of over 15,000 Nigerians? Who will get justice for those people allowed to die as 'collateral damage' by a callous President who openly and shamelessly placed politics above Nigerian lives?
PoliticsRe: Fayose Impeachmemt:big Lesson For Ekiti State Judges by Gbawe: 5:08pm On Apr 10, 2015
@OP

Are you not ashamed of yourself? Is this what you want for Nigeria i.e forward never and backwards always instead of forward always and backwards never? Fayose used a minority of 6 PDP lawmakers, because he had the backing of the Presidency, to dictatorially and illegally dismiss 19 lawmakers and you are here telling stories. When they say Nigerians are dishonest and morally warped people then know that it is people like you that gave us that reputation. Fayose should be impeached pronto. He is a disgraceful throwback who is a shame to leadership and to Nigeria.

PDP was not built on principle. It was a convenience collation of looters. Now that the pot has changed kitchen, PDP has nowhere to go but into oblivion. In a year some small parties will mushroom out of the ashes of PDP. APC will not last long. Buhari and Tinubu are parallel lines. One is very corrupt and the other wants to change Nigeria's very corrupt polity. Tinubu will try to use the southwest NASS members, but Buhari is going to 're-marry'. He loves Nigeria more than he wants to accommodate Tinubu's greed. That's where the ashes of PDP will be used to fertilize GMB. Mark this. It won't take two years for this to happen.
You are one of those who continue to get Tinubu wrong because you buy into the lies they tell against him just as they lied against Buhari for decades. Never ever doubt that Tinubu wants the best for Nigeria. Yet the man is a pragmatist who knows that controlling considerable wealth is the only way, in Nigeria, you fight and conquer a malevolent and bullying enemy that has partisan access to the wealth and institutions of Nigeria. Tinubu is not "very corrupt" as you claim but a realist who did what it took to pursue his real passion of seeing a Nigeria led by good guys who will deliver for ordinary Nigerians. I wish some of you take the time to try and study Tinubu to see that he is not even anywhere near as emptily materialistic and money-hungry as most Nigerians. If this is the case then Tinubu should have retired and taken a back seat role to spend his money in peace as I am now 100% sure Jonathan will do.
PoliticsRe: April Polls: President Jonathan Should Not Abandon PDP Governors By Obinna by Gbawe: 5:37pm On Apr 09, 2015
Below is the koko of the matter. How many times have some of us repeated it that the PDP, because it is full of unprincipled mercenaries, would fall like a pack of cards when robbed of the Presidency and power at the centre? The PDP is all but dead and those who want to challenge the APC would be better off empowering and supporting KOWA Party. Jonathan is an accidental President who was and will always be about his own interest.

Imagine a whole General (GEJ) hiding away while his men are dying in the field simply because he values retiring to Otuoke to spend his loot more than the future and survival of the Party that gave him a chance to go much further than he ever planned in life. This is someone who would have been happy been a local government chairman. That, or lower, is probably his level. Jonathan's actions since losing the election just shows how far above his station he was as a President. I must admit I am enjoying watching this show of crude self-preservation from GEJ. Absolutely comical.

It shows that PDP is just an assemblage of charlatans and fair weather men who cannot stand for anything when the chips are down,

No way. They should impeach Fayose and kick him out for his unforgivable sins against democratic governance. Those legislator are fighting to right the wrongs the dictatorial Fayose committed when he made it "minority carries the vote" by using 6 PDP legislators to cower 19 legislators from the opposition.

In a sane and functional democracy that is a no-no and an impeachable offence in itself. Compromising, muzzling and undermining the judicial arm cannot be tolerated in any nation looking to build a vibrant and robust democracy with functional and independent arms of government that ensure the sacrosanct check-and-balances all democracy needs to thrive.

Delusional is the only word for you. This is how you hyped Jonathan till he suffered the defeat at the poll which has now exposed him as a political lightweight. This is how Fayose became "APC's tormentor" only to now be a scared and abandoned scoundrel fighting for his political life today while begging Buhari indirectly by saying "Buhari will not force my impeachment". You people never learn. Who the hell is Akpabio in an emasculated opposition Party, i.e PDP, now only strong in the SE and SS? Akpabio gambled and lost because he fancies himself to be a lion when in fact he is a Goat. Is Akpabio not going to a Senate where he will be directed and supervised by an APC Senate President? Thank you ojare. These Jonathanian are so arrogantly self-centred and unprincipled. They did not vote for the APC yet they now want the Senate Presidency for their region like usurpers who want to reap where they did not sow. They rejected the APC uncompromisingly and did not even want to hear what the Party had to say now they want to dictate how Buhari should lead. Their disciple, Fayose, said Buhari is close to death yet he has the audacity to now say "Buhari is democratic and will not force my impeachment".

They thought the APC had no chance and took to chanting "GEJ till 2019" everywhere yet they now think they can tell the Party how to lead. Like I said earlier this is a thread started by a bitter loser for other bitter losers to fall in and console themselves. Leaders and supporters of GEJ are sick and unprincipled. While I understand the fear of Balarabe Musa, I feel he may not understand what the APC is about. While Tinubu and Buhari are alive, then the APC will never resemble the PDP because it will be a Party that will democratically and tolerantly allow anyone to join it yet will only ever allow performers and 'good guys' , who can deliver for the people, to occupy influential positions. When Tinubu and Buhari are gone they will be replaced by the likes of Kwankwaso, Tambuwal, Aregbesola, Fashola, Fayemi, Okorocha, Joe Igbokwe et al. New PDP member who wants to join the APC and act the APC way will always be welcomed. The game has changed and I feel Nigeria will never go back to the PDP way where leaders given a a lot had the audacity to give the people nada in return.

Gbawe, you fall ma hand .

How did you allow yourself to be drawn into a tribal e-war?

Please correct your mistake. You are one of the people whose posts are balanced and detribalised.

Please remember that they are people on this forum who may not even be Nigerians or even Africans, making provocative tribal posts, in order to fan the flames of tribalism which they hope would eventually consume the entire country.

You should be helping douse the flame, rather than being drawn into a destructive dialogue.

Mods should delete all tribal threads.
What tribal e-war am I joining? I am a proud Yoruba man and you and other decent Igbos should start telling off the OP and his ilk for peddling offensive and vile nonsense and empty braggadocio merely because the Yorubas are tolerant and accommodating. I will give you a contextual example. If you live next to a racist and he puts down black people before you everyday to say they are criminal, worthless , lazy, parasitic et al and that his race are "God's anointed" and such ignorantly supremacist drivel how long, even if you tolerantly ignored him for a while, before you tell him off for his ignorance? That is precisely what I am doing here. The Yorubas are not behind any ethnic group in Nigeria. They are to be respected for their egalitarian and tolerant ways and not mocked for it.

There is nothing at all wrong with me correcting the fallacies, completely ignorant and highly offensive drivel your kinsmen peddle about Yoruba folks all day long and 24/7 in cyberspace. If you want to "douse any flame" then people like you should start calling the OP and his sort to order. I don't have any interest in disrespecting any ethnic group, because we all play our part in the mix called Nigeria, but I will not tolerate emptily supremacist garbage that always targets the Yorubas as candidate of choice to be disrespected and discredited with ignorant and uncharitable lies from ingrates who should just get on peacefully with others but are instead obsessed with fighting everything and everyone. Play your part if you want peace my friend.

GEJ is surely not blessed with leadership qualities and it's the more reason he failed as a president and lost the election.

The next big question is who will lead PDP to become a good opposition party? I really hope we have a strong opposition PDP because it is the only thing good for our democracy.
I want the PDP to be strong too because one-Party nations are usually riddled with problems caused by the impunity of the ruling Party which knows it can get away with anything and still retain power as was the case with the PDP before the birth of the APC. Sadly, I don't think the PDP can bounce back. GEJ cynically and deliberately destroyed the Party and disenfranchised the North which produced the backbone of the Party.

Now, even the strong men of the Party like Lamido et al may decide it is best to dump PDP, which is now most certainly a regional Party because of the machination of GEJ, for the APC which truly has broad representation and overwhelming executive and legislative strength across all regions bar the SE and SS. The conundrum the PDP will face is the very difficult challenge of the Party retaining its best leaders most qualified to rally others and take the fight to the APC. The PDP never had a Tinubu in the Party but even those that are decent political mobilisers will now leave in my opinion. Ironically, the PDP is now destroyed because it strongest characters did not side with Amaechi, Kwankwaso et al to wrestle power away from opportunist political 'pygmies' like GEJ, Akpabio, Wike et al. Things not looking good for the PDP at all.

@OP. You are an ignorant fool. I usually ignore your sort because your low IQ and cretinous idiocy means your brain is incapable of taking in knowledge. Yet I will contribute the article below for the sake of ignorant folks from the SE raised on a diet of unquestioningly peddling the ignorant drivel that "lagos/SW will die if we pull out" and such delusional nonsense. The problem with you guys is that your parents failed to get over the civil war and they brainwashed many of you to the extent you say the most stupid, illogical and asinine garbage that makes you ignorance and deceit personified. The SW would be a thriving Country if it were independent due to the unique and understated talent of the Yorubas you are incapable of giving them credit for because of the vile indoctrination that has turned you into a creature of hate happy to lie to himself and others. Instead of Nigerians, like people of the SS because of the part in bold about the region, to face what is important you will all come online lying and denying the Yoruba credit because of historical hatred. You guys should get over yourself and start respecting others because you are only sensitizing the new generation of Yorubas that you hate us and do not appreciate our tolerant live-and-let-live approach to life. You have your own issue you never face and must wake up daily to seek confrontation with the Yorubas in an attempt to prove a post-civil war point to us.

Be very careful OP. There will only be one loser in the war you guys want today simply because you have not gotten over that fought many decades ago. The article below , for those who don't deceive themselves, show how strong and near independent the SW is today. While the new generation leaders of the region have been working silently you are all bragging all over the place, migrating to the SW and then abandoning the plight of your region of origin. Charity begins at home dude. You and others will not find it funny when you get the confrontation you want so start respecting others and let peace reign in the SW which is a peaceful, tolerant and very accommodating region.

Nigeria: One Country Four Economies Discussion Points
By
Falalu Bello, OFR

a) South West Economy

South Western Nigeria with a Land Mass of 76,852 square kilometres and population of 25.2 million today owns and/or control 60% of the nation’s industrial capacity, 44% of banking assets, 67% of insurance assets and is house to the nation’s three deep sea ports of Apapa, Tin Can Island and Roro; the busiest international airport of Ikeja, three thermal stations of Egbin, Papalanto and Omotosho. Today, its three major industrial estates of Agbara, Ikeja and Otta are all linked to gas under the West African gas pipeline plan and piping of gas is ongoing from Otta to Abeokuta. Added to these, the South Western population today is the most educated as western education came through there and education as a resource was democratized since the early sixties. Geographical location, democratization of western education, availability of resources enhanced in last 9 years and some empowerment during the Obasanjo administration have collectively enabled the South Western economy to rank as first of the four economies in Nigeria. Today, the South West as a region can boast of having a defined growing middle class and is perceived to have at least 20,000 of its indigenes with net worth of over N100m each. Take it out of Nigeria, the South West economy with is defined growing middle class and resources, will be one of the fastest growing economies in the world.

b) The South-East plus Delta

The South Easterners plus their cousins across the Onitsha bridge control commerce in all parts of Nigeria and are thus largely employed. The region has clusters of small scale industries around Nnewi and Aba. The banking consolidation has assisted these people to now have ownership and or control of over 50% of Nigerian banking assets. It also controls 21% of the nation’s insurance assets and 20% of industrial assets. With this development, this region which has not had a commanding control over Nigerian economy will certainly begin to do that now. Commercial activities backed by finance can only grow the economy of South-East plus Delta. The growing strength of financial muscle of this region has been aptly demonstrated by the recent licensing of Micro Finance Banks. Of the over 600 MFBs recently licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Anambra State alone had 74 whilst Yobe State had 1, Sokoto 5, Zamfara 6, etc. There exists also in this economy a middle class which will now grow itself in number and financial muscle and will almost certainly grow its economy inclusive particularly of small and medium sized industrial base.

c) The Northern Economy

The North which geographically is 719,435 Square Kilometers or 79% of Nigeria’s landmass and has 75 million or 53.6% of Nigeria’s population has its economy as a consequence of various reforms introduced, been totally grounded. Today, the North has ownership and/or control of no more than 3% of banking assets and 2% of insurance assets and 10% of industrial assets. True, the North has a huge landmass but this has remained under exploited due to jettisoning of time tested policies of price support (as a result of abolishing of marketing boards without putting alternatives) and abandonment of extension services and quality control. Also, the North has a huge population but the population has remained largely uneducated and/or half educated because of near failure of governance in certain States and Local Governments. Currently its most distinguishing characteristic is grinding poverty. Recent poverty statistics indicate that the poverty level of States in the North has been on the increase in the last 9 years and reached over 80%. Its two commercial and industrial nerve centers (Kano and Kaduna) have seen industrial capacity utilization decline to an all time low of less than 10%. The textile, automobile and beverages companies that thrived so impressively in the 1970s and 1980s have collapsed rendering thousands jobless. Although hydroelectricity is generated at Kainji Dam and in lesser quantities at Shiroro Gorge and at several smaller sites, the entire mechanisms are run on very obsolete equipment and the performance is consequently very epileptic and unsuitable for meaningful economic activity.

d) The South South minus Delta

The South South is largely in the creeks of Niger Delta and has therefore a small land mass of only 48,321 square kilometers and is populated by 13.6 Million people. Notwithstanding the fact that it is house to Nigerian Oil wealth, this region exclusive of oil company activities like the North is also backward economically. It controls no more than 3% of banking assets, 10% of insurance assets and no more than 10% of industrial assets on account of oil related industries that the indigenes do not control. Furthermore, its overstretched land mass has suffered considerable degradation and its aquatic life destroyed. As a region, its people and economy are worst off than the North as it lacks fresh environment, water and even good air to breath.

Most Igbos respect the Yorubas but we cannot accept a situation where a high-ranking traditional ruler chooses to speak like a tout.

Does it interest you that Yoruba communities are gradually growing in some cities like Onitsha and Enugu?

We Igbos thrive under competition and would readily welcome others in our society provided they would be adding value.

The Igbos have earned their pride of place in a city like Lagos. We therefore will not accept any sort of intimidation or patronising attitude from any misguided person in Lagos no matter how highly placed.
Please give it a rest. All decent Yorubas are embarrassed by the utterance of the Oba. We reject it and consider it repulsive. Yet don't come here talking about "intimidation" of any sort because that is not what the Yorubas are about and you know it. You cannot take some utterance from misguided elements to represent the position of the Yorubas. I have Igbo friends from childhood and I have to remind myself of these guys when the foolish OP you failed to criticise starts a polarising and divisive thread like this at a time when rapprochement is needed . GEJ cannot lead anyone because he is not a leader himself. He is an 'accident' who stumbled into the Presidency. I said it here that GEJ would be the last accidental President Nigeria would have and I have being proven right. The days of OBJ et al imposing dull and unknown 'mumus' on Nigerians is over . Now it is political gladiators and leaders who really want it who will gain the Presidency after besting others on the field of battle. Those asking GEJ to now stand tall to lead the PDP simply do not understand that GEJ is a very simple and small-minded individual who is entirely about his own ambition and nothing else.

In fact after May 29th not much will be heard of GEJ again. He will simply become another Odili by retiring to the background to spend his loot. The PDP will have to look, if any remain, towards its strong and sagacious characters to lead what will be a very difficult rebuilding period for the Party where it went from the ruling Party of Nigeria, with majority in all legislative houses, to an opposition Party with no majority in any legislative house and in control of far fewer Nigerian States than was the case when the Party was at the heights of its power. In fact, I think the PDP is now effectively a regional Party strong only in the SE and SS. This will never be enough to relaunch it towards the centre or towards political relevance and might.

Some of you people and the malevolent indoctrination that has completely messed up your mind. This is why you go everywhere and begin fighting others, because you believe yourselves superior to them and "anointed", instead of just trying to get along with your fellow men and women.

Every sane person will condemn the statement of the Oba, if indeed verified he said what is claimed, but we do not need your delusional supremacist drivel which is never matched by realities on the ground. Why always keen to say and do what others will resent and resist?
