Anomumu, you opened a thread on "APC matters" where you dedicated 24hours of your life daily dishing out stories and propaganda against APC. Now APC has risen above all the crooked efforts of your paymasters, you've started another thread on the Lagos elections trying to sell a failure to Lagosians.

You and Jimi Agbaje remain "Just Kidding" till 2019. It's really unfortunate sad

Divisive troublemakers did worse than this against Buhari and they still failed. In fact, the documentaries they splashed out millions on only made Nigerians more determined to vote Buhari/Osinbajo. This ethnic scaremongering will go the same way. Erstwhile apathetic voters will now be irate and determined enough to make Saturday a 'mission' to install Ambode. Agbaje on course to now lose even more horribly than he was set to. It will be his just reward for attempting to use ethnicity and scaremongering as vote winners.

All in good time. I personally feel Buhari's government will exceed the expectations of Nigerians. The sheer number of fine brains backing Buhari is mind-boggling. Unlike other Nigerian President, Buhari has the will to listen to them as well to implement policies that will improve life for the common man while bankrupting the AGIPs and political jobbers.

Buhari’s FEAR grips NNPC over imminent probe on massive fraud allegations

Palpable fear has gripped the top hierarchy of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and its agencies over plans by the President-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari, to probe the corporation. Buhari, a former Minister of Petroleum Resources and the first chairman of the NNPC board, had, in the build up to the March 29 presidential election, alleged that the corporation runs two sets of account books, “one for public consumption and another for insiders.” But the NNPC described Buhari’s statement as “political mischief.”
New Telegraph gathered at the weekend that about six week to the inauguration of the President-elect, the issue of probe has formed the focal point of discussion at meetings by the management of the corporation.

“All of us at various divisions and parastatals of the NNPC have been told to crosscheck our books with the internal audit department in preparation for any eventualities,” a management staff of the corporation told New Telegraph on condition of anonymity.
“General Buhari has not hidden his disdain for corruption and he has, at different fora, talked of his plans to probe NNPC, and many of us know that he won the election based on his anti-corruption stance. I do not need to deceive you my brother, his Major General Muhammadu Buhari, election is a big headache for those whose hands are not clean here,” the source added. Buhari’s emergence has stirred apprehension at the NNPC, which sees itself as the target of the anti-corruption crusade of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential standard bearer in the March 28 poll.

“It is natural that many heads will roll if the President- elect begins the probe of the NNPC,” the source said. Spokesperson for the NNPC, Mr. Ohi Alegbe, told New Telegraph in a telephone chat yesterday that there was no panic in NNPC, adding that the allegation that the Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke has gone to General Abdulsalami Abubakar to help her beg the President-elect, Buhari, to shelve the plan to probe her was false.

He said: “Some elements are coming up with this allegation of panic in NNPC because they were shocked with the outcome of the PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) audit report. They never thought that our books would be clean. Our books are clean and there is no panic of any sorts in NNPC. “It is the handiwork of some elements in the APC.
They have won and we are still wondering why they would still go ahead with smear campaign. “They have even taken the campaign to a ridiculous level by publishing falsehood on Internet that the honourable minister has gone to the General Abdulsalami Abubakar to beg that the President elect should not probe her.

“They have also published a picture, which authenticity is under question, of the minister in a purported house of General Abdulsalami. This is pure falsehood.” Alegbe had described Buhari’s statement on the alleged two accounts as political mischief. “It is sad that General Buhari, one of the founding fathers of the NNPC, who himself has tasted of the virulent but false allegations deliberately concocted to cast the Corporation and the public sector management of the nation’s oil and gas industry in bad light, would be the one to allege that NNPC runs two sets of account books.

“We find it difficult to understand how a former Head of State who has also served as Minister of Petroleum Resources could believe that NNPC keeps two sets of account books to perpetrate fraud, knowing that NNPC is the most audited and scrutinised agency in the country,” he added. The NNPC noted that in the past one year, it has had its books scrutinised and audited by the Senate Committee on Finance and an external auditor, PwC. The forensic audit carried out on its books by PwC, the corporation said, absolved it of complicity in the $20 billion missing oil money.

The Group Managing Director of the NNPC, Dr. Joseph Dawha, at a news conference, maintained that the report absolved NNPC of culpability on all counts. Dawha said the report had laid to rest the 15-month long controversy over the allegation of missing $49.8 billion. “The report has clearly vindicated our long held position that the alleged unremitted crude oil revenue was a farce from day one,” he said.
On the issue of the outstanding $1.48 billion, he explained that the amount was the balance of the book value of the divested assets that were transferred to NNPC upstream subsidiary. Dawha said the amount transferred to its subsidiary, the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company (NPDC), excluded taxes and royalties. “This does not constitute indictment; rather this value is still being reconciled with the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR).

“It is pertinent to note that the $1.48 billion is not part of the alleged unremitted revenues from crude oil sales,” Dawha said. He explained that what the DPR sent to NNPC as the estimated value of the assets was $1.847 billion. He said out of this, the corporation paid over $300 million as a token to indicate its commitment to acquiring the assets pending resolution and reconciliation by NNPC and DPR.

Grow up dude and stop making a fool of yourself. Everyone knows GEJ is now mortally wounded and totally focused on fighting for his own life after May 29th. He said he is "tired" and given his character, dominated by a strong will for self-preservation, we can all assume GEJ will do everything to retire to Otuoke with his loot. This means he will dare not piss off GMB or act unlawfully.

You are deluded if you think GEJ will fight to help Fayose. Fayose is now on his own and if I were a betting man I would fancy the odds in favour of the APC legislators trying to impeach him. GEJ needs to be seen as a 'good boy' till he hands over to GMB otherwise any 'soft landing' deal he negotiated will be repealed. Fayose, the agbero who thought he was untouchable, is now in a real fight. Let us see who wins.

Losers wasting their own time and resources. Ambode would have won comfortably even if Buhari lost. Now that Buhari is President-elect Agbaje will be disgraced. The guy who bragged that Igbos are 40% of Lagos better urge every single one of those 40% to go and vote for Agbaje because he will need all the votes he can get to even muster 20% of total votes polled. ACN, now APC, has always had excellent grassroot mobilisation and influence in Lagos the PDP can simply not match. Did people not learn from how Buhari won Lagos when it mattered and when the APC (Lagos arm) actually bothered to sensitise the grassroot? If Buhari could take Lagos what do people expect the fate of Agbaje to be next Saturday? Anyway, PDP fans and TANdroids love deceiving themselves. Not long to wait.

It is a very bad precedence which we should not allow other presidents to emulate, imagine if your university denied you being the student only because you are contesting against one useless, power Hungary desperate president.
That was awful. That was why all our prominent high-ranking military men (Danjuma, IBB, OBJ et al) came out to warn against the politicisation of the Nigerian Army. How could the Army take part in the deliberate ridiculing of one of their own finest because of 'inducement' from a corrupt and totally amoral President?

The Captain Sagir Koli Ekitigate scandal was another example of the destructive GEJ compromising our Army. The NPF is a joke under GEJ and the DSS should not even be mentioned as a serious outfit. There will be a lot of 'house cleaning' for Buhari to do everywhere.

He just had no choice but to accept defeat as Nigerians have clearly rejected him.
Completely spot on. How, for example, does one celebrate a "democratic act" from the same President who was happy to watch callously as over 15,000.00 of our fellow Nigerians were murdered by Boko Haram over 5 years only to then initiate a military operation against the terrorists merely to win votes after it was clear he was on course to lose the election? The author of the article illustrates your point, i.e Nigerians are slavishly used to low standards, with the quoted section below:

I can understand it when the Western world hails Jonathan's concession as an earth-shattering event because in their usual condescending way, they don't expect higher standards from us. Foreign observers will usually adjudge African elections to be "free and fair, by African Standards" no matter how flawed. We are often judged by a minimalist threshold. But it is more painful when we ourselves begin to tout the same nonsense and judge ourselves by the same threshold and expect to be taken seriously.

Such a great piece. There are basically two sets of people celebrating GEJ for conceding electoral defeat. They are; his die-hard supporters who are holding on to the last straw by finding something, no matter how irrelevant, to celebrate about their principal; 2. those who lack understanding of democratic principles & consequently think that a President is like a god whose Will cannot be questioned & hence, his weakness/failings should be seen as benevolence. The latter group are in the majority. However, we shall get there one day when Nigerians won't see their elected officials as benefactors, but contracted & well-paid public SERVANTS. Until then, the informed minority will have to keep bearing with, while also enlightening the vast ignorant and/or sentimental majority.
"Eggcelent" observation. The desperate fans of the worst President Nigeria has had think one self-serving action will launder the universally and deservedly soiled image of the messiah they worshipped clannishly and illogically. Terrible time to be a GEJ fan and worse , by far, to come still.

Not So Soon Nigerians! By Okey Onyejekwe

The certificate issue almost led to a constitutional crisis on the eve of the Presidential Election. General Mummadu Buhari has consistently maintained that his High School certificate was in the custody of the military. He was scorned and vilified by the PDP. Several Radio, TV and newspaper advertisements ran, days on end, calling him a liar, a cheat, an illiterate. Presidential spokespersons, namely: Dr. Doyin Okupe, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode and Dr. Reuben Abati all took turns to ramp up the "Certificate-gate". They saw this as their ace against Buhari. As all these efforts failed to resonate with the public, they engaged all manner of surrogates to file lawsuits hoping to find any willing and purchasable judge who would disqualify Buhari. The man himself possesses unassailable integrity and honesty, tested over decades. There must be a thorough investigation on how some in the military became complicit in this travesty. There must be accountability.

Meanwhile, Jonathan is being hailed now as the "New Mandela” of Africa for conceding defeat after he was rejected by the Nigerian electorate. I am astounded and feel insulted that we are being sold a bill of goods that a Statesman status is conferred by simply conceding an electoral defeat. Never mind that the new "Statesman" presided over a totally failed and massively corrupt administration, coopted all the security agencies to thwart the democratic process in many despicable ways at every step of the way; trying to stop the use of PVCs, Card Readers (designed to eliminate all forms of electoral fraud), including violence and massive vote rigging on Election Day. In the South-South and South East States, in full view of the security agencies, polling officials were video taped filling out ballot papers and result sheets. Bags and bags of dollars from public coffers were doled out in public view to many "ethnic brokers" to buy votes. Paradoxically Nigeria just recently made the dubious list of "extremely poor nations", with over 70 % rate.

In Ekiti and other States, touts were recruited and given military and police uniforms to intimidate and brutalize voters in order to assure victory for the ruling party.

The world watched a last ditch effort by the incumbent party to derail our democracy. While the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Attahiru Jega was announcing the last batch of the election results, lo and behold, [Jonathan’s] former Minister for Niger Delta Affairs, [Elder] Godsday Orubebe, appeared and held the nation/world hostage in an orchestrated last ditch ploy to stop the announcement and render the election inconclusive. They expected the security forces to engage him and all hell would break loose in the room and then his touts in the Conference Center, outside and in the States were ready to cause mayhem. Thanks to the steel disposition of Jega, Nigerians will be telling a different story today. Mr. Orubebe was not a lonely wild wolf on the prowl. He was acting from a script, which came out of a meeting held the previous evening and chaired by PDP elder "statesman", former Minister Edwin Clark, also a political Godfather of President Goodluck Jonathan.

Apologists are arguing that President Jonathan deserves to be hailed as a Statesman for saving Nigeria from violence and also for setting an example for Africa on how to concede when defeated. Some are even more bizarre to suggest that he should be awarded a Nobel Prize! Obviously, Nigerians are glad that he, egged on by the insane sycophants and self-centered praise-singers, did not act foolishly in an attempt to truncate the process. But having said this, please let us not get carried away, totally out of context and proportionality. The incumbent created a situation ante, which led to a context in which the whole world was forced to hold its breath.

The question we must ask is this: when you contest an election and you lose, are you not supposed to concede? Why is this an extraordinary feat deserving of a Nobel Prize, regardless of his extremely anti-democratic record leading to the elections? Incumbents in other African states have lost elections, conceded and left office in Benin twice. Didn't President Diouf of Senegal lose and concede to Wade? Didn't President Wade of same Senegal lose to Macky Sall and conceded? Didn't President Thabo Mbeki bow out, without a whimper when he was defeated by Zuma in the ANC convention? Incumbent parties have lost elections in Ghana and all hell did not break loose. Come to think of it, didn't President Olusegun Obasanjo, a military Head of State, hand over to a civilian regime in 1979? It is even more noteworthy for a military regime to voluntarily surrender power to a civilian dispensation, given its monopoly of the instruments of violence, than from one "democratic" dispensation to another.

This whole issue has become a total distraction from what was a courageous and remarkable effort, against all odds, by the Nigerian electorate to reclaim their mandate. That should be the real story, not on President Jonathan's concession whose administration and party, had turned the whole electoral process into a war like exercise in which they were determined to hang on to power by any means necessary. Nigerians must continually ask how we got to this point where we are willing to award a Nobel Prize just for conceding a defeat. It is because we are relieved that we averted a conflagration because the incumbent was determined to stay on by hook or crook? Or because when pressured by the "big boys" and the enormity of the defeat he did the right thing at the nick of time, especially after the "Orubebe Show of Ignominy" had failed? We are glad nevertheless.

Some are claiming that he could have clung on to power had he chosen to hang on. I argue that every action of the administration, including the postponement of the election, leading to the election suggest otherwise. The electorate had spoken thunderously and the world community, in unison, had warned, in no uncertain terms, that the will of the people must not be subverted. Most of the average members of the security agencies would not have acquiesced in any forlorn attempt at foolishness. Evidence: The president lost decisively in the polling units in the Army and Police barracks, as well as those in Aso Rock, the seat of power. The appetite for Change was voracious and insatiable.

We must not forget that many were brutalized, imprisoned, even died before, during and after the elections just for daring to exercise their constitutional rights, in what is supposed to be a democracy. We must not forget that these are the real heroes before we are affected by collective amnesia in the quest to move on quickly and forget the ugly past. Not so soon please! We cannot say "Never again", if we chose the convenient path - The Big Lie!

Interesting... Nigerians now making wave with lies in the new era of CHANGE undecided
You GEJ fans are simply incorrigible bitter losers. What has this got to do with Buhari? GEJ encouraged lawlessness, rumour-mongering and slander everywhere. I expect Nigerians will see disciplined and dignified behaviour restored everywhere under Buhari. All this nonsense is the typification of what GEJ stands for so please do not associate Buhari's 'change' with this idiocy.

Also, go and check the archives to see the classy conduct of us APC fans in 2011 when GEJ was declared winner of the election. We wished him success and gave him the benefit of the doubt because the progress of Nigeria is all that matters to us. Contrast this to how you bitter and spiteful supporters have being going around looking for negatives to say and faults to find with a President-elect who has not even being sworn in when you should be wishing him well for Nigeria's sake. This confirms what I have always said that most of GEJ's fans are not decent and good people who value the progress of Nigeria above everything else as APC supporters do.

It has been amusing to note that only SeverusSnapes and Eurobomber have behaved in a classy way and wished the incoming government well while the rest of you are bitter and negative elements openly wishing the APC fails as if this failure will not affect you also. In short, you guys are not good human-beings. You are all warped, wicked, self-centred, unpatriotic and egotistic elements not interested in Nigeria's development. See a typical post below from me in 2010 where I gave GEJ the benefit of the doubt and support to deliver a good cabinet that could transform Nigeria. You guys should get behind Buhari and stop your off-putting pettiness. Is it Nigeria you love or is it GEJ? If Nigeria why finding it hard to get behind the President elect and give him the benefit of the doubt as we did for GEJ?

Totally the right thing to do. Jonathan surprised me by going a step further to entirely disolve an irredeemably woeful cabinet when many expected only a cabinet reshuffle from the acting President.

I cannot ask those who are skeptical , with very good reasons for their skepticism , to begin believing in Jonathan. I am skeptical of him also as I feel he is another business-as-usual leader lacking the strong convictions required to turn our nation around. Nonetheless, it is one step at a time. Jonathan has now done what all Nigerians wanted. We can at least wait to see who the new Ministers are before we damn Jonathan's effort .
Gbawe:
Indeed !!! OBJ wilfully encouraged the destructive participation of Governors in federal issues to a dangerous level to the extent many Governors now confuse their role within our politics to include meddling in political matters that should not concern them. This explains their brazen attempt to order Jonathan around !!!! Jonathan must shun our busybody Governors and other self-serving politicians who will now besiege him with names of "wonderful performers" he should 'consider'  . It will not be difficult for our acting President  to raise a competent team that can move Nigeria forward if that is what Jonathan sincerely wants.

Yet we must not forget elite leaders like this bling-bling Pastor who dangerously chose to divide Nigerians along religious lines at a time it would have helped if they made themselves part of the solution rather than worsening the problem. Why, for example, should I accept the congratulations or prayers of a racist? Abeg the bling-bling Pastor should save his prayers for GEJ. Buhari does not need or want it.

Imagine Fashola as a Federal Minister and Ambode as the governor of Lagos.

The kind of wonderful synergy this represents will be to the advantage of Lagosians.

Vote wisely

Vote Akinwunmi Ambode for Governor of Lagos State...

The usual undemocratic, clannish and ethnocentric devotee of GEJ who fail to see that GEJ lost the support of Nigerians with his hideous misrule and anti-people style of leadership. Continue fooling yourself.
