Send only your new passport. The previous passport number already reflects on the current passport. Infact, they may not even allow you submit the 2 passports.

Good morning everyone,

Please I need an advice on what to do and it’s connected to a visiting visa application although I know we discuss study options here.

The application was submitted in 2021 August and got a passport request days ago. Because the initial passport applied with expires early next year, she applied for a new passport which just came out yesterday.

For sending her passport, can she send the new passport for stamping perhaps, she can get more duration or it must be the old one that was used when initially submitting the application.

Thank you

Hello everyone, I trust we are all good.

Please, I'm wondering if anyone can be of help with information or a link here on Nairaland about medical examinations. I am planning an upfront medical for next month and wondering how to go about it, the cost and the process.

TravelRe: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by Gbenag2000: 7:03pm On Aug 11, 2022
@HRprof

Thank you so much for this comprehensive feedback and sharing your mistake. But just a quick reply and clarification from the reply

1. The option for a research visa is not even showing, the close option to study and research I believe is long stay. I am a first time traveler and resident in Lagos, i tried using the website and it is showing no slots available for this category of applicants (See image attached), what do you suggest? However, I checked abuja which has just the short/long stay applicants.

2. In terms of length of bank statement, like how many months can I consider for the 2 months research and can I use my parents bank statement because I am a student. In addition, like how much can you recommend as the closing balance?

I look forward to responses to this.

Once again, thank you

HRprof:
1. You will need a visit visa, research visa is for academic Doctorate and lecturer going for research. I made the mistake Last time I visit French embassy I apply for research visa since that was the purpose of my visit and they told me it will be process as visit visa with explanations above and I got the 6 month visa but the program is for 3 months

2. You need to present your statement of account is one the documents required either they are funding your trip or not. But make it clear on your Statement of purpose letter that your trip will be funded by the organizer.

3. You do not need police clearance is not part of the checklist for visit visa

4. You will apply online then book interview appointment and go to VFS for submission of application and documents then do your biometric. Check VFS French visa application online for more details

Hello everyone, it's good to hear feedback about applications made by people and I hope that those waiting would get theirs approved soon.

Please, I am new here and I need advice going about my visa application, I would appreciate a feedback from anyone.

I am a Masters student but got funding research opportunity from a lab under the France research Centre, the trip to France is for 3 months and it is funded i.e they are going to be responsible for accommodation as well as flight booking after VISA APPROVAL. They have issued a letter to this effect and another official document to submit alongside.

So please I need clarification on the below;

1. How do I get started? and I guess I would be applying for a short stay visa but would it be as a visitor, researcher or student?
2. Would I have to still present a bank statement, since it is a funded research trip? If yes, How many months?
3. Would I need to do a Police Character Certificate and what other document checklist do I need to get?
4. Where would I be submitting to? The consulate or a VFS Office or its to be uploaded online?

Please any other information about how to go about this process as a Novice. I can also be reached on adedoyingbenga@gmail.com

Thank you

TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 20 by Gbenag2000: 7:28pm On Dec 06, 2021
Thank you for this response. You are referring to the questioner right? When trying to create account. If I am correct for my spouse would be SOWP right? Which would be for my Children. Thank You.
Atoasti:
During your application, you will just state the number of people you are applying for and the type of Visa.
You do not need to open separate accounts for them.
You will see the total cost of the Visas once you start your application.

Gbenag2000:
Hello Everyone, Please I need a trend or recent information about applying for Study permit for my masters study and I plan to go with my spouse and Children. I think its something about SOWP but I don't know the process, if i would be applying separately for my spouse and 2 children.

Would they have separate cic account?

or

Once I indicate spouse would be going with me in the family application form, that settles it?

Also, like how much could it cost in total?

Please I would appreciate any contribution and feedback to help me go through the process.

Thank you.

Enjay316:
3. The preconceived bias/stereotypic disposition VOs have about Nigerian applicants: In my personal opinion, I did not think this mattered in the past. However, based on recent reports, I can surmise that it now does. Whether you agree or not Nigerians do NOT have a good reputation globally. However, the media does not balance the way it reports stories about Nigerians around the world. The world gets the good, the bad and the ugly of Nigerians, which actually common to all other nationalities of the world. There are good Nigerians, and there are bad ones. There are good Canadians and very bad Canadians, there are good Indians, and very useless ones, there are good Americans and there are psycho ones too, maybe the pyscho ones are even more than the good ones, there are good Britons, and there are very lazy ones that live only on welfare etc, you get my gist. However, when the news is being reported about Nigerians, they won't report about the Doctors, Engineers, IT gurus, Professors, those in entetainment, real- estate doing great things, No. They will only report on the corrupt and bad ones, this forms a preconceived bias in the minds of the VOs. The country's govt is not helping matters, for example, Japan's study permit approval rate is about 95%, why Japanese don't even care to leave their country in the first place to go study in Canada, they have better Universities, technology, and will not have to struggle with the language, so when a VO sees a Japanese application they are delighted, and quickly approve, even if the Japanese person omits a thing or two in their application, they will mail them and ask them to bring that document, but that will NEVER happen if its a Nigerian applicant. It is unfortunate, but that is the stack reality. So, at the end of the day, it boils down to how your entire application looks to the VO. The VO would have considered all of the above, and then takes a decision whether is it worth the risk of approving the applicant's study permit or not.

So FINANCES ALONE IS NOT SUFFICIENT TO ASSESS ONE"S CHANCES OF VISA APPROVAL.

Use this guide to assess yourself. Take a decision about whether to proceed with your application. Prepare everything properly and make sure the application makes sense (Logic), then finally whatever God you call on, call on Him/Her/Them and hope they can touch the VO's heart.

hope this helps those new to this platform.

please make sure u start writing ur SOP on time.trust me u will edit and edit till u r convinced within nd look for a guru to proofread 4 u.Look out for grammatical errors too. They refused someone for just that some months ago.
