Does Pastor Adeboye know that he is a Goliath? He is the most successful church owner in the country.
Pastor Adeboye is not the owner of RCCG. He was not even the founder. Thank God you know he is very successful in his pastoral work, that explains why Freeze and his followers are doing everything to pull him down.

If half of the energy these children of Belial and sons of perdition are wasting in attacking pastors are being used for the propagation of the gospel I believe many unbelievers would have accepted Christ. Irrespective of whatever the opinion of anybody is concerning these pastors, we must learn from history. Countries like Turkey, Tunisia, Libya, Morocco, Algeria and Egypt used to be Christian countries some decades ago. Some of the greatest theologian and Bible scholars the Church has ever seen came from these countries. It was argument about doctrinal issues with different groups opposing and attacking other groups that hold different views from their own personal interpretation of the scriptures that led to their fall. Islam took advantage of the division among Christians in those countries and that was how Christianity was wiped out there. Today these countries are about 99% Islam. You can hardly see any traces of Christianity there again. With all these criticism of Churches and pastors we are seeing today in Nigeria, when Islam will come with their jihad even freeze will not be able to safe you. You don't have to believe every pastor. If what they are saying does not suit you just ignore them.

This man is funny. Why is he trying so hard to defend himself?

I'm sure this issue has caused him many sleepless nights. I call that the "cost of doing business". You wanna be in business, you gotta pay the cost of doing business. And when the cost gets too high, you get out of business.

But trust me, he would never want that to happen, he would rather propagate more lies and turn the Bible upside down to please his gullible followers until Jesus Christ shows up.
He is not defending himself as you portray. The OP quoted from today's open heaven devotional which was written by Pastor Adeboye before this tithing controversy started.

Tell dem, if you go to a developed country and pretend you need £1 or $1 to buy food to eat, ask ten different people for this amount, i bet you not more than one person will give you a pound or a dollar, let alone start preaching to the same set of people about tithes when they come to Church, they will all just stand up and walk out on you. After paying government taxes, where will they get 10 percent extra to give pastor.

Can you cite an example of a church in developed country where you went to and people walked out because the pastor asked for offering/tithe? I have live in some of these countries I have not seen one.

God bless you, Freeze. The Bible talked about people like Adeboye:

In their greed they will make up clever lies to get hold of your money. But God condemned them long ago, and their destruction will not be delayed. (2 Peter 2:3)

Please stop reading the Bible upside down. I am against pastors exploiting their congregation. We should not allow someone's opinion make us to deviated from what is clearly stated in the scriptures. Giving is deeply entrenched in God's word.
Proverbs 11:24-25 (MSG) says "The world of the generous gets larger and larger; the world of the stingy gets smaller and smaller. The one who blesses others is abundantly blessed; those who help others are helped."
Even our Lord Jesus Christ said it in Luke 6:38 "Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again."

RomanceThe Confession Of An Atheist by gbengadada2004(op): 11:26pm On Aug 29, 2017
My commitment to atheism essentially came in three steps. The first was when I was in junior high school and began asking Christians uncomfortable questions, like, “How can there be a loving God with so much suffering in the world?” And, “How can a loving God send people to hell?” And, “How can Jesus be the only way to God?” Rather than engage with me, they basically told me to keep my questions to myself. I quickly concluded that the reason they didn’t want to discuss these matters was because there were no good answers from the Christian perspective.

The second step came when I began studying neo-Darwinism in high school. I was particularly struck by Stanley Miller’s 1959 experiment in which he recreated what he thought was the original atmosphere of the primitive Earth, shot electricity through it to simulate lightning, and discovered the creation of some amino acids, the building blocks of life. I naively concluded that Miller had proven that life could have emerged in a purely naturalistic way. To me, that meant God was out of a job! I started considering myself an atheist in high school, but the third step that cemented my position came when I took a college course on the historical Jesus. The professor, who relied in 19th century German paradigm, convinced me that there was essentially nothing in the New Testament that could be trusted. Along the way, I read a lot of atheistic literature, which served to deepen my commitment to spiritual skepticism and give me a more systematic basis for my atheistic convictions. I was especially captivated by Bertrand Russell’s book Why I am Not a Christian and Antony Flew’s The Presumption of Atheism. And I was quite sympathetic to many of the church/state issues raised by atheists.

However, in the interest of total disclosure, let me add that my problems with faith were not solely intellectual. I had a vested interest in the non-existence of God because I was living a rather immoral lifestyle and did not want to be held accountable for my behavior. To me, atheism opened up a world of hedonism that I knew wouldn’t be acceptable to God if he existed. (Let me be clear: I’m not saying that all atheists are hedonists. I’m just saying that, for me, atheism cleared the way for me to live a self-indulgent, me-first, narcissistic life. And to be honest, to this day I can’t figure out why atheists would choose any other path, although I know many do.) Was I “hard-core”? I’m not sure how to define that. I was recently contacted by a woman who had been an acquaintance of mine in high school. She said she was “the good Catholic girl” and reminded me how I used to taunt and belittle her because of her faith. So I guess I was more aggressive at a young age than I remember! At the same time, though, I didn’t have the kind of scorched-earth militancy I see in some of the “New Atheists” you referenced. While a lot of the issues they raise are the same ones that vexed me, I was not on a mission to wipe all faith from the face of the planet. I was happy to peacefully coexist with Christians and people from other belief systems.

How did I become a Christian? My wife’s conversion to Christianity (which deeply troubled me at first) resulted in a lot of positive changes in her attitudes and behavior, which I found winsome and intriguing. She invited me to a church, where I heard the Gospel explained in a way I could understand it. While I didn’t believe it, I realized that if it were true, it would have big implications for my life. So I decided to use my journalism experience and legal expertise (at the time, I was legal editor of The Chicago Tribune) to investigate whether there was any credibility to Christianity or any other faith system. For nearly two years, I investigated science, philosophy, and history. I read literature (both pro and con), quizzed experts, and studied archaeology. On November 8th, 1981, alone in my room, I took a yellow legal pad and began summarizing the evidence I had encountered. In light of the scientific evidence that points toward a Creator and the historical evidence for the resurrection of Jesus, I came to the conclusion that it would have required more faith for me to maintain my atheism than to become a Christian. Essentially, I realized that to stay an atheist, I would have to believe that nothing produces everything; non-life produces life; randomness produces fine-tuning; chaos produces information; unconsciousness produces consciousness; and non-reason produces reason. Those leaps of faith were simply too big for me to take, especially in light of the affirmative case for God’s existence and Jesus’ resurrection (and, hence, his divinity). In other words, in my assessment the Christian worldview accounted for the totality of the evidence much better than the atheistic worldview.

"Looking at the doctrine of Darwinism, which undergirded my atheism for so many years, it didn’t take me long to conclude that it was simply too far-fetched to be credible. I realized that if I were to embrace Darwinism and its underlying premise of naturalism, I would have to believe that: 1. Nothing produces everything 2. Non-life produces life 3. Randomness produces fine-tuning 4. Chaos produces information 5. Unconsciousness produces consciousness 6. Non-reason produces reason....The central pillars of evolutionary theory quickly rotted away when exposed to scrutiny." —Lee Strobel, The Case for a Creator, p. 277.

SportsLimping With The Trophy by gbengadada2004(op): 4:43am On Jul 20, 2016
A friend sent this to me and I felt I should share it with you. I am very sure you will enjoy it
One (1) week ago, France played against Portugal to vie for the coveted UEFA EURO CUP 2016.

It is history now as Portugal defeated the host nation and won the cup. Much have been written and said in on that final match.

Let me tell you what happened in my sitting room while my lovely wife and myself watched the match.

I had requested my wife to watch the match with me. She obliged. Each time RONALDO made attempts to play, desperate efforts were made to hack him down. My wife started complaining early in the match. "These French guys want to injure Ronaldo so that they can easily win" - She lamented.

One particular incidence saw two French boys clearly go after Ronaldo's legs. They forgot the ball. My wife kept saying :" I told you. They appear to be under instruction or conspiracy to get Ronaldo out of the match as early as possible".

Finally , Ronaldo was out. Out on a stretcher !!!. On the 25th minute!!!. He was in tears. Fans had their hands on their heads. They seemed to say its all over for the team. Then my wife lost her cool.

" These French boys are competing unfairly. This is not football again. You cannot deliberately injure a star player because you want to win", she lamented.

Finally my wife said :" God does not like unfairness. Mark it. Because of the way the French boys went about this game, they will lose". As if to close the matter, she said she would no longer watch the match. She slept off on the couch .

I woke her up after the game. Just in time to show her limping Ronaldo with the trophy. She only said: "I told you".

She went back to sleep.

Here we go with the LESSONS.

First, NOBODY CAN GO UP IN LIFE BY BRINGING RIVALS DOWN. Ask the French national football team. Reconfirm from my wife. Destroying ones colleagues will not build the destroyer up.

Assassinating the character of others do not build ones character. Those who bring others down end up being brought down.

God is the only ONE who can bring a person down or raise a person up (Psalm 75:6-7)

Secondly, IN ORDER TO HELP THE TEAM, LEAVE THE FIELD WHEN YOU ARE INJURED. As soon as Ronaldo received the last knock , he signaled to the coaching crew that he should be changed.

No matter how good a star is, he will harm the team if he plays injured. We have heard about some players who mask their injury and still "try" and play. When you are sick, let people know you are sick. Excuse yourself from the office. Excuse yourself from functions. It is not a sin to fall sick. If you are a pastor and you feel "empty" on a Sunday morning , do not mount that pulpit. Let your deputy stand in. You cannot "offload " anything from an empty container.

Thirdly, AN INJURED PLAYER CAN BE USEFUL OFF THE PITCH. Did you watch Ronaldo off the pitch ? He was inspiring and encouraging the players during the two extra time breaks. He was patting them on the back. At a time the commentator said Ronaldo had become the unofficial assistant coach.

He was limping around on the touch line. He seemed to be saying "The got me out of the pitch, but I am still here to inspire the rest of you to win ".

Your elderly parents may be "off the pitch", but they can still give you good counsel. Your elderly uncles, aunties ,grand-mas and grand-pas may be "off the pitch" on account of old age but they are still by the touch line. Experience never goes out of fashion. Listen to them.

Fourthly, WEEPING CAN BE TURNED INTO JOY. (Psalm 30:5). Ronaldo wept like a baby when he was being stretched out. He was the captain.

At 31 he knew he could not play in the next UEFA EUROPE competition in four years time. This is one trophy he had never won. And it appeared to be slipping through his fingers again. Yet within less than two hours of weeping, RONALDO was laughing big. He was beaming with smiles with the trophy and posing for shots before the world media.

It could make a movie. I am not sure of what you are passing through now. Just remember the promise of God and the Ronaldo story. Soon your weeping will end and you will laugh last.

Remain on the touchline.

Finally, A RELATIVELY UNKNOWN TEAM CAN BEAT A TEAM OF STARS. Ask the Portuguese. Ask the French football team. LES BLEUS, the French national team is an assemblage of stars. Name them: PAYET, GRIEZMANN, SAGNA, EVRA, POGBA, MATUIDI, SISSOKO etc.

Compared to the French, the Portuguese could only boast of a few established stars, ( Ronaldo, Nani).

Team spirit and commitment makes the difference.

Do not be intimidated by the credentials of your opponents. Pedigree is good but if you do not have it, do not feel intimidated by those who have it.

Many people whose children are excelling in Harvard, Stanford, Yale or Oxford, did not themselves attend ivy league schools. Some of the successful CEOs did not have privileged upbringing. Where you were born into has no direct relevance to where God is taking you to, if you are ready to work hard and live holy.

Recollect the face of RONALDO, limping and smiling with the TROPHY. Even if you have been "injured " by your rivals, I declare that you will soon receive your trophy.

God bless you real good.
Christianity EtcRe: Most RCCG Regional Pastors Are Yorubas. In Christendom Is This Right? by gbengadada2004(m): 7:51pm On Jul 14, 2016
josephni12:
I've personally noticed something peculiar to the Redeemed Christian church of God which I am not comfortable with. The Bible warns that we should not give chance for people to question our faith our unity in the body of Christ. In other churches, like deeper life, chosen, mountain on fire etc state and regional pastorship have always been of people of different tribes as the case may be,

But it's not so with in Redeemed Christian Church of God were MOST (not ALL about (86%)). of their regional / state pastors are most Yoruba's in almost every state in nigeria. Is it that the people mostly trusted to be Good pastors to handle that PARTICULAR POSITION are from one particular tribe? This is what is happening currently in our Government. Please, constructive criticism no tribalism.

Related: https://trccg.org/rccg/who-we-are/leadership-of-the-rccg/
The reason is basically because the foundation members are mostly yoruba by tribe. All the names you see in that website are names of people that have been members of the church when the church was unpopular and only have few members. Just the same way we should not expect to see many yorubas occupying top positions in churches founded by Pastor Oritsajafor, Pastor Mike Okonko, Pastor Ntia Ntia etc. Not because they are tribalistic but rather because the foundation members are mostly people from other tribes and not the yorubas. And it is those foundation members that will rise to occupy many of the top posts as the church growths.

Pastor carries out MouthAction with members, says his manhood is blessed with sacred semen

A 57-year-old pastor from Brazil, Sobrini Valdeci Picanto, has revealed that Jesus Christ blessed his manhood and consecrated him with heavenly semen of the Holy Spirit. According to Inbraziltoday.com, he allegedly urged his church members at Faithful Apore Assembly to always practice MouthAction with him, saying that his semen was sacred, referring to it as divine milk of the Holy Spirit.

Picanto was reportedly arrested in Apore, Goiás, Brazil for raping several women attending his church, with the notion that his penis had been consecrated with divine semen of the Holy Spirit. One of his followers, unnamed, said: “He convinced us that only God could come into our lives through the mouth. Picanto, usually after church service, asked us to do MouthAction on him until the Holy Spirit came through ejaculation and delivered funds to the church.”

The follower further disclosed, saying, “Picanto claims to have had an encounter with Jesus in a brothel and gave him the mission of spreading the sacred semen throughout the state, beginning with the Faithful Apore Assembly which he is overseeing.” A delegate of the Apore region, Denise Pinheiro, said: “Valdecir was caught red-handed while rubbing his manhood in the face of a local merchant, which promised to make more sales in her business due to the divine liquid.”

I saw this on a friend's Facebook page

CAN YOU BELIEVE WHAT TANZANIA'S NEWLY ELECTED PRESIDENT MAGUFULI IS UPTO?

Last weekend they were opening parliament and there was a state dinner planned for all guests that was going to cost about 300m. President Magulufi cut the budget to 25m and ordered that the rest be taken to buy hospital beds for Muhimbili they got 300 beds and mattresses and 600 bed sheets from that money.

On 23rd Nov 2015 he announced that there will be no official ceremonies for Independence Day on 9th December, the money is to be used for more pressing issues and the day should instead be spent cleaning up our environment.

On Saturday 21st nov 2015 a group of 50 people were about to set off for a tour of commonwealth countries (don’t know for what) but President Magulufi cut that list down to 4 people, saving government 600m in tickets, accommodation and per diems

No more foreign travel, embassies will take care; if it’s necessary to go, special permission must be sought from him or Chief Secretary

No more 1st class and business class travel for all officials except President, Vice, and Prime Minister.

No more workshops and seminars in expensive hotels when their so many ministry board rooms available.

President Magulufi asked how come engineers are given V8s when a pick-up is more suitable for their jobs.

No more sitting allowances, how the hell are you paid allowance for a job which you have a monthly salary; that also applies to MP’s.

President Magulufi has literally pressed the reset button; returning Tanzania to default factory settings, because that was the TZ Nyerere left us with.

On the day after he was brought to power, in the morning as State House officials were showing him round he decided to take a walk to ministry of finance, told them to get their act together, asked why some employees weren’t in office (ever since then the traffic jam in mornings has become worse) and ordered TRA to scrap all tax exemptions, everyone must pay taxes especially the big guys

President Magulufi went to Muhimbili Hospital unannounced and walked thru the worst parts that they keep hiding from important visitors he fired the director, fired the hospital board and ordered that all machines that weren’t working (so that people go to private hospitals owned by some doctors) to be repaired within 2 weeks otherwise he fires even the new director; the machines were repaired in 3 days

Finally, last week when going to officially open parliament President Magulufi didn’t go by plane, drove the whole 600km from Dar to Dodoma.

President Magulufi has reduced the size of the presidential convoy, even reduced the size of presidential delegation that travels with him

President Magulufi chose a Prime Minister we haven’t heard of before, a guy with reputation for hard work and no corruption all the big guys we expected could be PM have been let wondering what hit them.

His motto is: Hapa Kazi Tu = "HERE, ALL WE DO IS WORK/ SERVE!"

After President Magulufi visited Ministry of finance and Muhimbii Hospital without announcing it is said the port (most corrupt, delaying, thieving officials) were all of a sudden the most efficient place. No loads are missing, things are done quickly and that habit of forcing for a bribe so that your container is released is no more.

Oh, they say when he was confirmed as winner people started congratulating him and wanting to bring gifts to his place he turned them back, saying he will receive all congrats over the phone, nobody should visit him.

All individuals/firms that bought state companies that were privatized but haven’t done anything (20yrs later) are to either revive the industries immediately or hand them back to the government.
