Secondary and Primary Schools wasn't damaged because of the government, that's a fat lie.

It's because of the teachers and their wickedness, they sign in and leave school to their shops in the market and other businesses and then they come back to sign out at closing time.

I am a product of Government College Ughelli, Delta State and I can tell you that at point when my set was in JSS3 we don't see up to two teachers in a day, not even the form teachers even the so called crs teachers don't come too and soonest the youth corpers joined them and we needed to prepare for exams, some corpers started offering tutorials for money and the teachers told us to attend and pay or we read on our own that they can't cover the scheme of work, we complained to the School Principals and still nothing was done but fortunately the Ministry of Education Office is behind the School fence, we went there and laid our complaints with various dramas from us, we don't know how they did it but when we resumed on Monday, Teachers started coming to class like there was honey in the classrooms and I am sure they still do till date.

Moreover Private Universities are too expensive and that's the reason many parents don't send their wards there, if not who get time for all these useless lecturers, I ready for una anyhow una come.

Wicked set of Witches and Wizards.

Have you asked your why these teachers were no longer committed to teaching you students these days?
How do you expect them not to leave school to their shops in the market and other businesses when they are being paid peanut?
If any of these teachers is your parent will you support them to stay there with the meagre amount they were being paid without looking for alternative source of income?

I attended public primary and secondary schools in the late 80s, and the teachers were committed to their work.
It is you younger generations that are witnessing what you wrote above.
I am a father but non of my children attended public primary and secondary schools because it has been turned upside down.
And this is what our public Universities will become if ASUU did not take the bull by the horn.
No lecturer love strike because our own children are also victim of these strike actions, however, we must no fold our arms and watch the FG destroy our public universities the way they destroyed public primary and secondary schools.

ok, why not sort it out once and for all?
Why the repetitive strike every year?

So how will UTAS prevent public universities from dying? And how will IPPIS kill public universities?

Thank you for the good question. The last strike was suspended based on sympathy for the students after staying at home for several months and COVID-19 lock down. Also, the deceptive government made several promises which till now they never fulfill. After writing severally the government and there was no response, ASUU was left with no other option than to resort to strike.

On how will UTAS prevent public universities from dying, and how will IPPIS kill public universities. IPPIS does not make provision for several peculiarities of University education.
1. Every University in the world engage experts in certain field to work for them for short period of time. IPPIS will not accommodate such, you have to travel to Abuja to have your data captured. And you are accustomed with IPPIS office in Abuja, you can spend 2 weeks there before you achieve you aim. Universities usually engage people that are in industries to teach technical courses in Science and Technology for few period and pay them, however, IPPIS will not allow such.
2. All over the world University lecturers go on sabbatical, and they also engage visiting or adjunct lecturer. IPPIS does not recognize these.
3. Since IPPIS, it is amputated salary that they are paying. Some months no salary.
4. Deductions made from lecturers salaries such as cooperative loan deduction, ASUU dues etc are not remitted to the appropriate parties.
5. Unnecessary deductions, for example, I never subscript to National Housing Scheme neither do I inform the FG that I don't have my personal house but they kept making NHF deductions from lecturers salaries.
These and more are some of the shortcomings of IPPIS. Now UTAS was been developed and it has been tested and proved to have overcomed all these drawbacks but the Almighty FG through NITDA does not want it.

Highest intellectual body my foot!
ASUU is less than 0.1% of Nigerians, ASUU can not be allowed to keep making unrealistic demands from one Govt. to the other.
A very useless and corrupt set of people.
ASUU is frustrating our students and killing our educational system.
FG is right on this one. No work, No pay.

Have you asked yourself what happened to public primary and secondary schools?
Why do you think parents no longer enroll their children in these schools again?
Why are parents sending their children to private schools for primary and secondary education even though teachers in public elementary schools don't go on strike?
I guess according to your postulation the teachers killed these schools too?
If ASUU did not fight the way they are fighting these useless governments, our public Universities will soon become dead like their primary and secondary school counterparts.
If you think ASUU is frustrating our students and killing our educational system just go to your University and check again all the buildings, lecture halls, research centres, facilities and vehicles with the inscription "TETFUND PROJECT...." That is one of the by product of ASUU strike.
If you don't know, this government once proposed a school fees of 500,000 for public University students.
ASUU outrightly reject the offer because many students will not be able to afford it and will eventually dropout of school.
I can go on and on but let me pause here.
ASUU would not have been going on strike frequently like this if they want to be selfish by fighting for their welfare alone. However, they have decided to make sure that Nigerian Universities do not die like their primary and secondary school counterparts.

How will they go on strike when he kept on threatening them with sack letter and thugs?
A governor that will pay his workers 20% salary but will claim he has paid the complete salary.
The workers have been so much impoverished that some of them go home with N4,000 as take home pay at the end of the month.
It is that terrible.

7 REASONS WHY DEGREE HOLDERS ARE POOR?
Writen by

*MALAM MAMUDA KABIR DUTSINMA*
1. I have a very painful truth to dish out to graduates out there: Your degree or certificate is not the cure to poverty; the cure to poverty is your ability to see and seize opportunities. In this Article, the word P.O.O.R means: Passing Over Opportunities Repeatedly.

2. Dear Graduates, if somebody offers you an amazing opportunity, but you are not sure you can do it, say yes then learn how to do it later!, never should you say you don’t know. School rewards people for their memory. Life rewards people for their creativity and ability to solve problems. School rewards caution; life rewards daring. School hails those who live by the rules. Life exalts those who break the rules and set new ones.

3. Being on top of your class does not necessarily guarantee that you will be at the top of life. The world is filled with poor graduates but rich opportunists! Kevin Ngo once said, “If you don’t make the time to work on creating the life you want, you’re eventually going to be forced to spend a lot of time dealing with a life you don’t want”.

4. Your certificates and degrees are meant to help you garner the experience and expertise needed to fulfill your dreams; they are not your destination! I have watched pitiably many graduates with degrees and certificates languishing in poverty looking for jobs that don’t even exist while people with keen eyes for opportunities reach the pinnacle of success in the most unlikeliest of ways.

5. Do you have a graduate or degree holder around you that is poor? I bet you have as they are everywhere! I have a very painful truth to dish out to graduates out there: Your degree or certificate is not the cure to poverty; the cure to poverty is your ability to see and seize opportunities.

BASICALLY, there are seven (7) reasons why degree holders are poor.

1. THEY DON’T THINK BEYOND THEIR CERTIFICATES

Albert Einstein said, “Education is not the learning of facts, but the training of the mind to think.” Have you ever heard creativity term “Think outside the box”? One of the major reasons why most graduates are poor is simply because they can’t see and think beyond their certificates.
I have seen engineering students work as bankers. I have seen medical doctors with great skills in web and graphic designs. I have seen lawyers that are very dexterous with finances. The list is endless!

The basic truth of life is that the skills that are needed to be much sought after and become more successful in life are not really found within the walls of the classrooms. Your certificate is just a proof that you are teachable, it does not suggest what you are totally capable of doing. You are full of possibilities when you think beyond your degrees and certificates.

2. THEY PRIORITIZE THEIR CERTIFICATES MORE THAN THEIR GIFTS AND TALENTS

I have often advised some of my colleagues, never to leave their gifts dormant while pursuing and hunting for jobs with their certificates. There must be a complementary balance in the pursuit of your passion and in the search for jobs.

Everybody is gifted for something, but the winning edge comes from our ability to work on our gifts and bless the world with it. The very best way to develop yourself is in the direction of your natural talents and interest. In order to live a fulfilled and impactful life, we need to work harder on our gift than our job. We need to discover our gift, develop it, and sell it. Don’t bury your TALENT with your certificates.

3. THEIR CERTIFICATES PREPARE THEM FOR A WORLD THAT NO LONGER EXIST

It has been found that most of the skills taught in schools are becoming obsolete in the present world. The world has changed a lot, and so are people’s need! It is imperative to know that the present form of university education does not prepare students for the future.

Graduates are becoming endangered species in the face of a changing world. Our archaic methods and approaches of learning are preparing graduates for a world that no longer exist, as we are churning out degree holders every year with certificates that have face value but no intrinsic worth. Most learning institutions are filled up with lecturers and pseudo-educators with lecture notes, methods and approaches that have lost relevance in a changing world.

4. THEY KNOW LESS ABOUT THEMSELVES BUT MORE ABOUT THINGS

Certificates and degrees don’t reveal people to themselves; they at most measure our IQ (Intelligent Quotient). I have often tell people that there is no Recovery without Discovery. A poor man is simply someone that has not discovered himself.

The more you discover yourself, the more you realize the treasures that are hidden deep within you. We carry inside ourselves latent treasures that can only be unveiled through self-discovery.

5. CERTIFICATES AND DEGREES CAN KILL INITIATIVES

Degrees and certificates can close up your minds to ideas while initiatives open it up. If you are not careful, your degrees and certificates can close up your mind. The purpose of education is to keep your mind perpetually opened towards limitless possibilities!

Fred Smith saw an opportunity for overnight delivery of anything anywhere in the USA, and ultra- fast delivery anywhere in the world, FedEx was born. It will be interesting to know that Fred Smith got a grade “C” in a Yale economics class for an idea that the professor belittled as unworkable.
Fred Smith’s company became the first American business to make over ten billion dollars in annual profit. Beginning with just 186 packages delivered the first night, FedEx now delivers in over two hundred countries using over 6,030 aircraft, 46,000 vehicles and 141,000 employees.

6. DEGREES AND CERTIFICATES POSITION YOU TO LOOK FOR JOBS AND NOT FOR OPPORTUNITIES

Our certificates and degrees prepare graduates to look for jobs and not open our eyes to life-changing opportunities. You are not poor because you don’t have a job; you are poor because you are not seeing and seizing opportunities.

Being POOR is simply Passing Over Opportunities Repeatedly! What keeps people ahead in life is not their education or degrees, it is simply the opportunity that they seized. Jobs may be scarce but not opportunities.

As long as there is a problem to be solved, there will always be opportunities. It is a waste of our education, exposure, and experiences if after we graduate from school, all we think about is searching for a job. An enlightened and educated mind should be able to see and seize opportunities.

7. CERTIFICATES AND DEGREES PREPARE PEOPLE TO LOOK FOR SECURITY AND NOT TO TAKE RISKS

We must be willing to make mistakes and take breakthrough risks. Taking risks and learning from mistakes help us in knowing what works and what does not! When Thomas Edison was being questioned by a mischievous journalist on how he felt for having failed for 999 times before getting the idea of the light bulb, his response stunned the whole world when he confidently said, “I have not failed 999 times, I have only learned 999 ways of how not to make a light bulb”.

Many graduates and degree holders are becoming progressively poor because the skills required in the modern world to get rich are not taught in schools and institutions. By 2025, we’ll lose over five million jobs to automation. This means that future jobs will look vastly different by the time many people graduate from the university.

Future jobs will involve KNOWLEDGE PRODUCTION/CREATION and innovation, and people that are only equipped with skills found in the classroom will definitely be a misfit in an ever-changing world. Skills like critical thinking, creativity, people’s skill, STEM skills (e.g Coding), complex problem-solving skills etc. are central to living a more comprehensive and productive life.

8 THEREFORE, in conclusion, My humble and candid advice to graduates and students in institutions is to think wide, deep and outside the box. Take volunteer jobs, and don’t be afraid to navigate fields that are different from your field of learning. Your future career will require you to pull information from many different fields to come up with creative solutions to future problems.

Start by reading as much as you can about anything and everything that interests you. Once you get to college, consider double majoring or minoring in completely different fields. Trust me, it’ll pay off in the long run.

Don’t limit yourself to the classroom. Do something practical. Take a leadership position. Start a business and fail; that’s a better entrepreneurship. Contest an election and lose. It will teach you something political science will not teach you. Attend a seminar. Read books outside the scope of your course.

Think less of becoming an excellent student, but think more of becoming an excellent person. Don’t make the classroom your world, but make the world your classroom. Step forward and try something extra. Invest in something you believe! Real financial security and freedom is not in your job, but in your passion, gifts, talents, and your ability to see and seize opportunities.

This university is finer than some "acclaimed " Nigerian's choice of university

This is Ghana beside us here. We are not yet talking about South Africa, Egypt, Botswana, Malaysia, UK, or US universities. It is on record that Nigerians pay school fees running to billions annually to Universities in Ghana. Nigerian Universities did not measure up to the minimum global standard in several areas. This is one of the major reasons why ASUU has been going on strike from time to time. Rather than the Nigerian students adding their voices to demand adequate funding of educational sector from our government, they prefer to call ASUU unprintable names. It is rather unfortunate that we have a government that does not value education.

Religion / Re: Can A King, Governor Or Senator Be A True Christian? by gbengadada2004(m): 12:09pm On Jun 07, 2020
Here is a prominent example of a king who stood for Christ.
OBA AKINYELE
Once upon a time,  a king lived in Nigeria, the Southwestern part,  Ibadan, to be precise. This King stood for Christ and shut the mouth of the devil.
Oba Sir Isaac Babalola Akinyele, KBE (18 April 1882 – 30 May 1964) was the first educated Olubadan (non-hereditary traditional ruler) of Ibadan, and the second Christian to ascend the throne.
I read about Oba Akinyele, the first CAC (Christ Apostolic Church) President, the king who stopped using his cap.
In those days, no one dared to confront satan or his institutions in the kingdom of Ibadan, the tradition in those days could not outrightly be separated from satanism.
Human sacrifice and other occult practices were very predominant.
The king after accepting Jesus, ordered the abolition of many of the occultic practices.
He stood his ground despite the opposition from almost the whole Ibadan land. He stood for Jesus, believing Him without an iota of doubt.
One day after settling disputes brought to the palace in the presence of the chiefs, unknown to him that charms have been sprinkled on his seat before he came in;
He couldn't stand up from the seat as he was glued to the chair. The chiefs began to mock him. 'Where is your God? but you claimed that He has all powers. Let Him come and rescue you now'
The King looked at them and he started reciting Psalm 24 and at the end, he said "I rise up in the name of Jesus", and moved his body, and immediately the charm was nullified. The chiefs went home ashamed, some of them later gave their lives to Jesus.
Another one was a year that a horse was to convey him to a ceremony, unknown to him, the occults in the city had placed a charm on the horse. They employed drummers who beat the drum with charms to make the horse die while carrying the King.
Actually the standing order was that horse must not fall nor die while conveying the king, else the king would be rejected. The whole city was watching as the horse began to misbehave and started crying with water gushing out of its eyes.
Fear gripped the whole city, the occult men were already jubilating that the king's end has come.
Baba David Babajide and other young evangelists at the scene began to sing...

*"agbara Re ga ju ti ota lo oooo, imo Re ga  ju tesu lo, Olorun ko seun ti ni o, oso aiye kan kole di o lona ise Re, agbara Re ga ju ti ota lo."*

(Meaning ...... "your power is greater than the enemy, your knowledge is higher than the devil. You're the God of all possibilities, no sorcerer can stop you. Your power is greater than the enemy"wink
The crowd chorused the song started by Baba Babajide, dew began to fall during mid day, the horse began to walk majestically, crying like a baby.
When Baba, Oba Akinyele was conveyed to the end and the horse neither fell nor died, the charmers had no choice than to surrender to the Kingship of Jesus and since that day, they stopped attacking Oba Akinyele.
RAW faith provoke RAW miracles.
May we return to this era of tearing down the kingdom of the devil with RAW faith like our fathers of old.

ASUU lecturers including VC are thieves,y submit names of dead lecturers and do u know that VC and bursar are dey main culprits, once a lecturer dies dey process dey payment and pay dey family off, then they create another account with the same dead people's name and be paying salary inside. So don't u want tax to be deducted the lecturers shouting can they post their payslip

It is not the responsibility of lecturers to submit such names. Lecturers only teach in the class. That is why every university have bursary department. The school bursar submitted the names to accountant general office. On the issue tax deduction, university staffs have being paying tax before now, their complain is about the sudden increase in tax deduction with the introduction of IPPIS. This has lead to reduction in net pay despite the fact that FG claim that they have started implementing the new minimum wage increase. Another deduction is the National Housing tax which workers were not allowed to decide if they want to join or not. No agreement, no information about the National Housing, no one knows where and when the houses will be built, they just continue deducting it from peoples' salaries.

[s]wow....

just forget, even "senior" staffs don't know how not to show their selfish interest. IPPIS is just a way to curb staffs from collecting salary from more than one avenue, I don't know much about the senior staff but let me talk about the academic staff.

Let me paint a scenario for you, most federal Universities has a part time lecturer that has a full time job in another university, this is not bad but look at the case of some lecturers that go for part time lectures in as much as 3-4 other institutions, this way they are even making 3-4 people jobless because that could have been a job for fresh graduates.

I believe the IPPIS is meant to cover just one more visiting apart from your salary, ASUU will never tell you this but I will, those lecturers that have 2-3 part-time lecturing job will not want IPPIS because it will block the salary of the part-time job.
I can tell you that I know of a lecturer that has 4 part time lecturing job in another federal university, please, how will such a person have time for his own full time job, he will be joggling within states just to meet the other while not being able to put a focus on any of them, I was taught by one of them and he never had our time, then we run marathon class so as to cover up for his absenteeism.

ASUU are just motivated by selfish interest, they will never tell you this, this is not the first time that the government is changing their payment system, and it's not like their salary will be reduced, it is just those with too much of an extra work that will be affect.

the IPPIS was introduced to create transparency, yes, there are irregularities but that can definitely be sorted with time.

it is only the government that can be castigated by changing the way they want to pay their staff, could that happen to a private firm?

ponder on this.

modified again: to some of the people quoting me, if you can't quote without starting your sentence or including an insult, then you should be so ashamed of yourself.

I'm not supporting any manipulation, I'm just saying that some workers bite more than they can chew and that's why some don't want the IPPIS, I'm not saying all, I've spoken with a lot of lecturers about the IPPIS and most of them give me this same reason as why most of them wouldn't join the IPPIS.

I know of tho[b]se who joined since and have gotten their salary, no reduction that they are shouting about.
[/s]
Why can't you just take your time to understand the content of the post before typing? The article is about SSANU and not ASUU. The two are not the same. SSANU has keyed in to IPPIS and they are now regretting doing so. This is unlike ASUU that is kicking against it. SSANU members are non-academic staffs in Nigerian universities. They don't do part time job elsewhere. They are not lecturers what made up ASUU. The fact that non-academic staffs who have registered for IPPIS are now regretting their action should tell every right thinking person that ASUU has a good reason for being sceptical about it.

Religion / Re: Mad Man 'healed' By Salvation Ministry Is Back To The Street - Freeze Reacts by gbengadada2004(m): 11:45am On Feb 09, 2018
The level of ignorance and shallowness of Freeze when it comes to understanding the Bible is amazing. Does someone been healed and then going back to the former state mean that the church and the pastor are fake? NO. Read the words of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ Himself in John 5:13-14 (NIV) "The man who was healed had no idea who it was, for Jesus had slipped away into the crowd that was there. Later Jesus found him at the temple and said to him, “See, you are well again. Stop sinning or something worse may happen to you.” That was Jesus Himself speaking with the man that was sick for 38 years at the pool of Bethesda. If that man continue in sin he would have returned back to the former state despite the fact that Jesus healed him. Does that now make Jesus Christ to perform fake miracle? NO.
Luke 11:24-26 confirmed this truth again “When an impure spirit comes out of a person, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it. Then it says, ‘I will return to the house I left.’ When it arrives, it finds the house swept clean and put in order. Then it goes and takes seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that person is worse than the first.” This is exactly what happens when someone receive a miracle or healing but never repent from his/her sins.
Religion / Re: Daddy Freeze Reacts To Stephanie Otobo & Kemi Olunloyo's Confessions by gbengadada2004(m): 1:06pm On Jan 27, 2018
Freeze is living in hatred and bitterness. How come he is always rejoicing when any of these pastors seems to fall into sin? He believes evil reports about pastors even without authentic prove. Now that the accusers of those pastors are confessing he did not believe their report again. This is against the characteristics of love mentioned in I Corinthians 13:6-7. I still maintain that Freeze is an antichrist. How many sinners have accepted Christ through his false teachings? How many Christian can boldly say that their faith in God have grown as a result of listening to him? Rather, he has succeeded in making immature Christians to backslide. He is destroying rather than building people's faith in God.

Even the celebrities she offended " sinners" did not do that. This is very disappointing.

Are you sure you read the story? The she said the pastor told her that he had forgiven her long ago. And for your information she was held in prison that long because of other people she offended.

No lies told as usual.

Good question.

Jesus did 40 days marathon fasting (no food for those 40 days). In the case of RCCG 50 days fasting, it is partial fast. You break the fast by 6pm everyday.

Religion / Re: Why Do Thousands Of Churches Differ In Doctrine Yet They Read The Bible - Freeze by gbengadada2004(m): 9:08pm On Jan 10, 2018
The answer to his question is found in Ephesians 4:11-14 (AMP). Verse 13-14 says "13 [That it might develop] until we all attain oneness in the faith and in the comprehension of the [[a]full and accurate] knowledge of the Son of God, that [we might arrive] at really mature manhood (the completeness of personality which is nothing less than the standard height of Christ’s own perfection), the measure of the stature of the fullness of the Christ and the completeness found in Him. 14 So then, we may no longer be children, tossed [like ships] to and fro between chance gusts of teaching and wavering with every changing wind of doctrine, [the prey of] the cunning and cleverness of [b]unscrupulous men, [gamblers engaged] in every shifting form of trickery in inventing errors to mislead. "
Verse 13 makes us to know that we will continue to have different understanding and interpretation of the scriptures and our faith until we attain spiritual maturity. The spiritual offices mentioned in verse 11 will continue to exist in the church till the saints be perfected.
Any heaven bound Christian does not need to see vision to know that Freeze is challenging the very foundation and essence of Christianity. From Tithing and offering to speaking in tongues, then to asking Churches to stop planting their branches in oversea countries. Later he moved to claiming that Christ Jesus is not the only way to heaven and that non Christians will make heaven if they love others. Now he is portraying the Bible as a book that is full of contradiction and confusion. If he is doing these things out of ignorance I pray that God will forgive and save him and his followers. However, if he is doing it deliberately, he will surely pay for it. Luke 17:1-2 (ERV) says “Things will surely happen that will make people sin. But it will be very bad for anyone who makes this happen. It will be very bad for anyone who makes one of these little children sin. It would be better for them to have a millstone tied around their neck and be drowned in the sea." To those who have ears to hear, the end has come. Know your God, don't let any devil toss you here and there with any wind of doctrine.

Daddy Freeze backed all his teachings with the Bible but very many people who didn't agree with him never mentioned a verse to disapprove all Freeze said.

Did you bother to read what the OP wrote?

I dont think he is wrong in his claims that muslims and christians worship the same God,and that not only christians will make heaven. This demonization of islam by christians is largely due to ignorance and hypocrisy. A large part of the bible's old testament contains the mosaic laws that in present day equals the height of barbarism, sociopathy and human right violations; same with the quran. So both books are two sides of the same coin. Hence, christians should stop bringing violent and hardline verses from the quran to justify their hate, the bible is full of them too.

Infact, I think most of his submissions are very logical.

That is Judaism not Christianity. Unlike Mohammad, how many battles did Jesus fought? How many people did Jesus killed? Even when Peter drew out the sword to kill because of Jesus, the Lord rebuked him in Matthew 26:52 '"Put your sword back in its place," Jesus said to him, "for all who draw the sword will die by the sword."'

That guy had better start looking for admission in another University because he will not graduate from that school. The UI that I know doesn't joke with student being rude to their lecturer not to now talk of him confronting the VC.

One prophet just said that bloggers will be arrested en masse this year, I thought it was their usual drivel but alas, today is January 1st 2018 and it has started. Buhari is a dangerous despot.

All those supporting the terrorist from futa jalon shall surely end up in the belly of the tiger. Im not surprised though, its the same blood curdling nonsense he did in the 80's and its only expected that he would continue as a civilian despot

Apostle Johnson Sulemam prophecy for 2018 number 12. Many bloggers to be arrested and jailed

Does Pastor Adeboye know that he is a Goliath? He is the most successful church owner in the country.
Pastor Adeboye is not the owner of RCCG. He was not even the founder. Thank God you know he is very successful in his pastoral work, that explains why Freeze and his followers are doing everything to pull him down.
