So the VC has two lives?
uboma:

did you threaten his life?

do you for a fact know that someone or group of persons threatened the life of the VC to give false claims?

did you bride the the VC to lie under oath?

Or do you know anyone who has offered the VC money to lie under oath?

if you can prove any of the questions above to be true, then the onus lies on you to put forward your evidence.

but if you cannot provide proof to any of the questions, I will advise you again to bury this case.

the VC is not a child. He will not give up his long standing career for something that isn't true.

I will not comment on this issue again.

Do u expect the Vc to say the contrary? If he did, his life is in danger. Money has changed hands. Case closed
uboma:

I doubt if the VC of ABU will want to tarnish his image and career for something that is not true.

Bury this case, it's been settled.

So if you are under oat, you cannot lie
uboma:
Your thoughts on this issue is irrelevant at the moment since the VC ABU, Ibrahim Garba has confirmed in public and under oath that Dino did graduate with a 3rd class degree in 2000 from ABU.

This confirmation from the VC is all that matters at the moment.

Politics / Why I Think Dino Did Not Graduate From Ahmadu Bello University by gbengress1: 3:00pm On Mar 27, 2017
There has been controversy trailing for a while now on whether Senator Dino Melaye truly graduated from Ahmadu Bello University as claimed by him. Here are some of the reasons why I think Melaye did not graduate:

1. Inconsistency in the name on the certificate: Dino Melaye claimed that he was a graduate of Ahmadu Bello University Zaria. However his statement of result had the name “Daniel Jonah MELAYE”, the senator’s National Youth Service Corps discharge certificate, which was issued on July 8, 2001, read “Melaye Daniel;” his diploma certificate issued by the University of Jos on August 3, 2006 read “Daniel Dino Melaye”, and his Senior School Certificate in 1992 read ‘Melaiye Daniel Jonah O’ with Melaye being wrongly spelt.

2. Unexplainable silence of Ahmadu Bello University: Havard and other foreign higher institutions purportedly attended by Dino Melaye denied him ever being a student of their institution. However, ABU (a local university) kept mute longer than expected. Why did they wait all this long?

3. Fire brigade invitation of ABU VC: ABU's VC was invited by the senate to clear the air on the scandal. What did you expect him to say when it was very obvious that he was bulied or money would have change hands?

4. Alumni list: Dini Melaye's name was not included on the Alumni website. If he was actually a graduate of the school, his name should be on the website. http://punchng.com/dino-melayes-name-missing-from-abu-alumni-website/

5. Geography under faculty of art: The statement of result claimed by Melaye showed that Geography department was under faculty of art. This is very controversial.

Dismayed by the Gunners’ defeat to Liverpool on Saturday, Osun State governor wants the Frenchman to vacate his position

Governor Rauf Aregbesola wasted no time in sending his farewell message to Arsene Wenger after Arsenal's 3-1 defeat to Liverpool on Saturday.

Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Georginio Wijnaldum were on target as they sent the Gunners to the fifth spot in the English Premier League log.

The seasoned politician who is a staunch fan of the Emirates Stadium outfit expressed his displeasure with the managerial tactics of the Frenchman after his team bowed to the Reds.

He took to Twitter to have a say on the future of Wenger after the humiliation at Anfield, though football administrator Ayo Omidiran has a different opinion.

Investment / MMM Plans 40 Percent Interest Rate For Participants by gbengress1: 7:43pm On Jan 17, 2017
Days after it returned to Nigeria, Ponzi scheme, Mavrodi Mondial Movement (MMM) is announcing plans to introduce up to 40 percent interest rate for its members.

Beyase maize mill
The new strategy allegedly aimed at attracting new members and winning the confidence of the already angry participants, many of whom are said to be considering dumping the scheme.

MMM plans 40 percent interest rate for participants
The MMM scheme is believed to be planning a 40 percent interest rate for participants
Before it closed its operations in Nigeria, its interest rate was up to 30 percent. The scheme re-opened on January 13 after one month.

Daily Post quotes a top guider in the scheme as saying that the MMM was troubled that the inflow had dropped rapidly since it came back.

The guider said the top management of the scheme are considering upping the interest rate like it is currently happening in an unnamed African country where it just started operation.

“You know that many wanted to take their money during the Christmas and New year celebrations but could not.

“Some wanted to withdraw to pay rent, school fees and other bills. So now that the accounts have been unfreeze, they are demanding for their money.

“At this moment, we are having more outflow than inflow. In other words, those ready to provide help have dropped by half.

“The economy too is worsening and we understand that it is only when people have, they will give.”

Responding to why many participants who have millions of naira are yet to be paid, he explained thus: “We are processing, but can’t pay them now.

“We need money in the system and that is why the increase in interest is on the cards so some can decide to leave their funds.

“That said, participants that have between N50,000 and N300,000 or so are being paid on a daily basis, you can do your findings,” the guider said adding that participants would receive information on the recently introduced BitCoin when they log in.

“MMM has observed that many Nigerians really don’t know much about digital currency and to address this, video, audio and text lectures are being uploaded to enlighten participants,” he said.

Investment / MMM Explains Why Get Help Order Was Removed by gbengress1: 7:33pm On Jan 17, 2017
Popular Ponzi money doubling scheme, Mavrodi Mondial Movement, MMM, has explained why the Get Help Order, GH, was removed from its site.

Recall that the Ponzi scheme had in December suspended its operation with the promise to resume on January 14, 2017.
Despite resuming a day ahead of its scheduled resumption date, some participants have been unable to do withdrawal and apply for help.
Some participants can’t access the Get Help Order on their dashboard, while others claim they can.

Explaining the reason for the missing Get Help Order on the dash board of some of its participants, MMM, in a message on its website said the GH button was not cancelled but was only removed due to system upgrade.

The message reads, “Many participants woke up this morning to see that their Get Help (GH) orders have been removed completely from their PO’s Dashboard. Though some people called it canceled but the truth of the matter is that it was only removed not canceled. Please note that the GH orders were not cancelled because if cancelled, you will see it at the right hand side as deleted. It was removed because of the following reasons:

“There is an ongoing upgrade because programmers are always working on the MMM system every day so the promised New Model can be unveiled as soon as possible. You might notice earlier this morning, the login Captcha was showing alphanumeric as against the numbers until it restored to numbers later today.
“Moreso, many participants have formed the habit of cancelling their GH orders and creating new GH orders hoping they will be matched earlier. There is no need for that anyway but to forestall that, the created GH orders were removed and that is why you can’t create new GH orders because the old GH orders have not been cancelled but removed and withdrawal is still pending.

“There is no cause for any alarm over the removed GH orders, if you check your Mavro, you will notice the value of the removed GH order has been restored and had also increased though it is still showing pending withdrawal.

“There have been reports of “removed GH orders” in some POs. The removed GH orders are mostly GH orders created on Friday/Saturday.

“There is no cause for any alarm. The value of the removed GH order has been restored and increased though showing pending withdrawal.

“The removal of the GH orders and other changes/errors you might notice are indications that the#NewModel is taking shape gradually.

“Tuesday (Mavro growing day), a lot of participants created GH orders thus the message “GH amount exceeds allowed daily maximum.

“Please await further instructions either to create a new GH order or if it will be automatically restored and matched.

“We crave your indulgence, patience & understanding at this period. We are doing our best to have these issues/upgrades resolved ASAP.

“Let’s be patient while the Administrators of MMM do their best to restore the confidence we have in the system.”

Sports / Super Falcons Launch Sit-in Protest by gbengress1: 8:08pm On Dec 06, 2016
Nigeria's women's team have launched a sit-in protest in an Abuja hotel as they seek allowances and bonuses for winning the Women's Africa Cup of Nations from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

The Super Falcons players clinched their eighth African title on Saturday with a 1-0 win over hosts Cameroon.

They say the NFF promised them that their outstanding allowances for qualifying and their win bonuses would be sorted before the start of the competition.

The players are now holding out for both in their hotel.

"We are tired of the lies and false promises from the NFF," one player, who insisted on anonymity, told BBC Sport.

"They told us we would be paid before the tournament in Cameroon, but that never happened.

"We continued playing and now we are owed additional allowances and bonuses for winning the competition itself.

"We have made it clear to the NFF president and general secretary that we are going nowhere until all our monies from the qualifying and the competition in Cameroon have been paid."

The NFF, which receives direct funding from government, is in dire straits after Nigeria slipped into recession in August for the first time in more than a decade.

Since March, Super Falcons coach Florence Omagbemi and her assistants have only received a month's salary.

The NFF has said in a statement that its general secretary Mohammed Sanusi met with the players and officials at the Agura Hotel on Tuesday.

"The NFF is not happy owing players and coaches, but present severe economic challenges inform that it can only continue to seek the understanding of these persons, as well as hoteliers, travel agents, management and staff until the situation improves," Sanusi said in a statement.

"All organisations, whether government or private, are feeling the pinch.

"We know we have financial commitment to you (players and officials of Super Falcons) and we have not at any time stated otherwise. But the money is not readily available.

"I have come to appeal to you, to understand the situation of the federation, to understand the situation of the country at the present and exercise patience.

"We will pay you all monies you are being owed as soon as we receive same from the government."

Despite this latest appeal by the NFF, the Super Falcons insist that they do not trust the federation's promises and will not be calling off their sit-in protest as requested.

"Contrary to what was said in that statement, Mr Sanusi used some strong words during our meeting," another player told the BBC.

"Our coach (Omagbemi) has gone unpaid for months, she lost her father yet she went to the tournament and won it for Nigeria.

"They can't treat the Super Eagles (the men's national team) like this. The only thing we understand right now is for them to pay and stop making promises."

It is not the first time the Super Falcons and the NFF have clashed over unpaid bonuses and allowances.

Twelve years ago, the team remained in their hotel in South Africa for three days after the Nigeria FA (NFA) failed to pay their bonuses for winning the 2004 African Women's Championship.

Pay rows have often surrounded Nigerian teams, with coaches not paid regularly, while players have boycotted training during important qualifiers or at major tournaments over unpaid bonus.

The poor financial position of the NFF has already forced the country to cut their backroom staff and slashed the salaries and allowances of the various national team coaches, excluding new Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr.

Politics / Vexation Of A Nigerian Living In The US Against Nigerians Amidst Trump's Victory by gbengress1: 1:49pm On Nov 11, 2016
I've seen so many (annoying) posts in the wake of the Trump victory but the ones that irk me the most are posts by Nigerians living in Nigeria saying that they are happy Trump won BECAUSE he will send Nigerian (brains) in the US home to (develop) Nigeria. Some have even gone as far as posting "requests" for Trump to do just that. I think these posts, jokes or not, are ignorant at best, obnoxious, malicious and infuriating at worst, and show what poor sense of reasoning and judgement some Nigerians have.
This isn't the first time I've been in conversation with people who honestly believe that the Nigerians in diaspora are "part of the problem because they ran away" and should come home to develop Nigeria. My first response is usually, "a lot of them are actually part of the solution, especially if they still have family members in Nigeria," and my first question to such people is usually, "come home to do what?" Thankfully, I know quite a number of friends who have done exactly what these ignorant Nigerians are asking and have completely regretted their actions. A friend of mine returned to the country to "contribute to its development" after his masters in the US despite warnings from family not to return. After struggling to land a job at an IT firm, he was excited at the prospect of putting his vast knowledge of cyber security to use at his job. His first obstacle was jealousy by his (fellow Nigerian) colleagues stemmed from inferiority complex that he had an international degree and was therefore "better" than them. Despite going out of his way to be very friendly and courteous to his colleagues, he still ended up being the victim of intense workplace gossip and bad mouthing to the bosses even though all this guy wanted to do was work, come up with innovative ideas and help BUILD the company in his capacity as a staff member. His next obstacle was antagonism at work stemmed from the fact that he did not want to be involved in corrupt practices and tell "white lies." This led to a lack of promotion despite hard work and obvious merit for it. This young programmer got so frustrated and when we spoke he said, "All I wanted to do was come home and contribute, but obviously Nigeria isn't ready for such. I'm returning to the States."
Another friend came home recently after his communications degree to start a business. He got married and had a lovely baby girl and kept trying to run his business in Lagos. Just yesterday, he told me he had renewed his visa to return and that this "Buhari change isn't working for his business at all."
A young vibrant friend who left a lucrative job and decided to join grassroots politics in order to effect meaningful change was mysteriously killed. HE DIED. My guess is he paid that price because some people currently benefit from the status quo that is a failing Nigeria and do not want that to change. Or maybe he didnt have strong juju power.
Another person came home to start a lecturing job at his undergraduate institution and and was constantly treated like crap by senior lecturers and professors who had taught him as an undergrad. All his Ideas for departmental improvement fell on deaf ears and whispers of "who does he think he is? This one that just got here yesterday?" Needless to say, he's tired and also planning to leave.
I even have my own experiences to narrate, but another time.
I could go on and on with stories of people I KNOW who have come home only to realize that the Nigerian climate is not even conducive for its own development from within, talk less of by investors from without, which is what these diasporans coming home would be. For people to come in and "develop" the country, certain BASIC infrastructure need to be in place. Despite this, I know Nigerians who work hard abroad and pump money into their family businesses here. They work and send money home, adding to the economy. They do what they can to improve what they can without being in Nigeria where they are likely to die of frustration. They are starting NGOs, small and medium scale businesses and hiring managers here to handle these businesses in their absence. They are spending sabbaticals and summer months at their alma maters teaching pro bono. They are developing the best way they can. They are excelling in their fields and gaining global recognition. And until Nigeria is ready for REAL development, I say kudos to these wonderful people doing well abroad and allowing the world recognize that Nigerians are more than just Internet scammers.
Nigerians at home are better off directing their lamentations at their political leaders who were ELECTED to cater to national development yet travel abroad at the slightest cough or earache but come home and do nothing about the dilapidated state of our hospitals. These are the same hospitals doctors abroad should come and work in right? Or develop for you? Rubbish! These same politicians, senators, ministers and law makers will ride trains and and buses abroad but will disregard our bad roads and poor transport network. Smh. Yet you Nigerians are crying for people like yourselves, whom the government did next to nothing for--people who had dreams that Nigeria would make hard to realize, who struggled, did what they had to do and ventured out, often by very difficult means--to come and be your savior? Mtcheew. What are YOU doing to develop Nigeria?
The MIT grad building a STEM school in Nigeria is already under fire by the very Nigerians he wants to help. Nigerians are already picking his project apart: why must must he build the school in Abuja? Can't he build It elsewhere? Can't he build it in his hometown instead? It's only rich people that will attend that one jare! These are comments I've seen with my own eyes! Without even knowing his full intentions, they are already gnashing their teeth, foaming at the mouth like rabid dogs. I just hope the young man isn't so frustrated that he ends up taking his idea to Kenya or South Africa. Smh.

Politics / Benue State Government Declares Fridays As Public Holiday by gbengress1: 12:22pm On Nov 11, 2016
The Benue state government has declared Fridays as work free days starting from November 11. The state government said declaring such work free days will enable civil servants begin harvest on their different farms. The state said its worker should use the last working day of the week for farming in the face of dwindling economy which made it difficult for the administration to pay salaries This decision was made after the governor Samuel Ortom presided over a state executive meeting in the state.
A statement by the special adviser to the governor on media and ICT Tahav Agerzua said the state executive already approved that Fridays become work free days. This, Agerzua said it take effect from November 11 to the end of January 2017, to enable civil servants harvest the farm produce.
He also said, the council, however, exempted some workers in education sector, maintaining that the school calendar should be allowed to run normally. Meanwhile, a Lagos based lawyer had earlier sued the Nigerian over ‘unlawful’ declaration of public holidays in Nigeria. The lawyer Malcom Omirhobo asked the Federal High Court in Lagos to decalre the rescheduling of public holidays in Nigeria as illegal. Omirhobo also joined the Attorney General of the Federation and the minister of interior as defendants in the suits filed before the court.

Politics / Lessons Learnt From Edo Election by gbengress1: 1:51pm On Oct 01, 2016
The Edo gubernatorial election has come and gone with accusations and counter accusations.
My observation is that, Edo people are matured politically. Compared to the previous elections held in Bayelsa; Rivers; Kogi ; it was void of violence whatsoever and for the very first time in the history of this country, no lost life was recorded.

Despite the fact that there were report of rigging by either of the political parties, yet it did not degenerate into break down of law and order. Half of the level of accusation raised would have made some states ungovernable, yet the aggrieved party did not resort to violence. Some people might say there was no casualties because of heavy presence of security operatives, but I don't believe that. Security operatives have always been present in our previous elections.
I hope other States can learn a leaf from the page of Edo people.
Long life Edo. Long life Nigeria
