Nice effort in trying to get the authorities to do the right thing.

I can imagine the amount of money that would have been quoted as cost of that project

Politics / Abijo GRA Police station in Lagos State is now a Criminal Hide Out by gbolah1(m): 9:38am On Nov 21, 2017
Abijo GRA is located along lekki epe expressway. There is a well finished Police post which was build by Fashola administration and commission by the same administration in 2010. But up till this moment the police post as not start operation, the place as turn out to be a criminal hide out since the government refuse to make the place functional.
Effort have been made by the communities within the axis to contact the relevant authority in making the place function. But it as not yielded any positive impact.
The leadership of Palms bay estate labora owode community had approach the commissioner of police In 2014 for making the station operative. The then commissioner of police send the O C work of lagos and one deputy commissioner of police to inspect the place and give the report of what was needed to make the place functional, but till today, nothing is yet to bee seen or heard.
We are appealing to the current lagos state governor and Lagos commissioner of police to help the community leaving within the axis make the police post functional.
So many criminal activities have been reported taken place within the Abijo GRA abandon police post.
The community just put it upon them self in cutting off the bushes that has cover up the hole premises.

We hope this message can reach the relevant authority. Though I dnt know the Op, but am a stakeholder within this axis, the electricity suffering is overwhelm the resident within the axis.
PHCN need to buckle up there strength to be able to provide adequate electricity supply for the resident within the axis.
Politics / Re: Lack Of Electricity Supply In Lakowe-bogije Axes Of Ibeju Lekki, Lagos State by gbolah1(m): 11:27pm On Nov 20, 2017
Presently from Abraham adesanya to eleko. There is partiality and injustice by the power holding of Nigeria to the resident leaving within the axis.
The left side of the road if you are coming from ajah do have a constant electricity, while the right side of the road are always in total darkness. The resident of the major communities and estate at the right side of the road when u r coming from ajah, have stage series of protest and several letters have been written to ibeju lekki district office of phcn, but all effort to see the power holder sharing the power generation equally have been proof abortive.
We were met to understand by the leadership of the PHCN that the transmission in ajah is faulty, they said they will need almost 600million naira to replace the damage transmission transformer that was suppose to supply light for the resident within the above mention axis.
We again appeal for the equal in sharing the light with the communities along this axis, all effort proof abortive.
If you are coming from ajah now, keep looking at your left. You will see that there is light in many place but if you look at your right side. What you see is a total darkness.
We are appealing to Minister of power/work/houseing in person of Mr Babatunde Fashola and Lagos state governor Mr. Akinwumi Ambode to help the resident look in to this abysmal situation of electricity within this axis.

watch out for Osinbajo and Ribadu ticket in 2019 or Osinbajo/Kwankwaso but because of political influence of Kwankwaso against Osinbajo. he may be dangerous to be selected as VP candidate in 2019.

But mark my word Osinbajo will win the APC ticket and Ribadu is considered as a suitable VP candidate for him, that's why Ribidu has not taken up any political appointment in this Buhari administration but you will always find him close to Tinubu in any public occasion.

why people are not thinking that the message baba Akande pass are absolutely not for Tinubu but for person like Osinbajo.
From my own political observation. Buhari is not going to run in 2019 an there is a big gang up against Osinbajo so that he will not be choosing as a result of zoning. This is what Baba Akande is trying to speak about that era of zoning as gone and they will only support the credible candidate.
Mark my word Tinubu is not contesting any election in 2019. His too wise to be rubbish.
Baba Adeboye also make a statement sometime in the beginning of this year that is congregation members should keep there voters cards against 2019.
This are all words of wisdom, we should should be expecting more of it from elder statesman as we approach 2018

The write up needed to be read by Ajimobi himself. He need to work on his media team. The man is doing a lot on infrastructure but less was publicise or discussed on media house.
I dnt know Ajimobi personally but am from Oyo state n can see d development going on there.
Whoever that can bring this post to his notice will do the governor a great favour.
Culture / Re: Why This Ibadan Chieftaincy Declaration Must Stay by gbolah1(m): 12:20pm On Sep 02, 2017
Senator Ajimobi’s government is suffering from information dissemination malady. Please overlook my Zebrudaya grammar, it’s only because I am angry with the Oyo state government media team, seriously angry.

Whatever the governor does, good or bad, he is left alone in the cold to defend himself to the extent that one is tempted to think they are planted there by opposition to work at cross roads with their boss.

Otherwise, while would a very laudable move like the Ibadan chieftaincy commission that should earn the governor accolades  across the city turn round to be an albatross hanging precariously on his neck, if the government has a capable media team.

Ibadan

With all the plethora of media personnel, from the commissioner to senior sepecial assist, special assistant, senior media adviser, media adviser, media consultants and officers, the government media presence is almost nonexistent.

Yet, it didn’t start today. At times, I wonder whether the governor does not know his media team is so alarmingly weak or he simply let them be.

Ibadans are really angry on this chieftaincy matter and the anger is deep, no thanks to lack of information by the government. The people see it as an affront to their culture and Oba not an elevation and modernisation as the government intended.

Had this been properly explained to the people, what should normally have engraved Ajimobi’s name in Gold would not have turned out to be a huge liability on his political balance sheet. Indeed, the media team has successfully tuned a gold medal to an also ran.

Like I said, it didn’t start today.

First, the 5billion naira his wife was allegedly caught with in London during his first term. I took it as what it was a palm wine bar gossip in Oje or Beere but was shocked when a level 12 officer in the ministry was asserting it with all vehemence in my office.

Won ti ko owo wa lo tan, won mu iyawo re pelu 5 billion. They have stolen all our money. They caught his wife with 5Billion. I said 5 billion? Yes 5 billion cash with all emphasis she relied.

Then I said, which Airport, Heathrow or Gatwick? Won sa mu. They caught her.  Why was the woman not taken to court because in England nobody gets away with an offence like that-money laundering. Won ti fowo pari e. They settled them with money.

I ignored her but she went ranting and when she was getting too much on my nerves I decided to pick her up.

Madam, you said 5 billion? Yes 5 billion cash. I said I am sure you know what a billion is? Before it came out of my mouth, she said yes, 5 atofo mesan. 5 and nine zeros. I said yes .

Madam as a level 12 officer, you sure know what 100 thousand is, to which she replied a pack of 1000 notes and quickly added that 10 of which make a bundle of 1million.

Ajimobi

Then I said a billion will be a thousand of that and that 5 billion will be 5 thousand of it. She nodded her head. It was then I went for her jugular.

Madam, how many trunks would contain that amount of money, 10 at least? Even n dollars it would be some boxes.  And you think Ajimobi will risk ferrying 10 trunks of cash though Murtala airport under a PDP government and went ahead to rail them through Heathrow airport. I don’t think the Senator would be so daft.

She went cold having realised the foolishness of her assertion? The lady did not alter any more word and was gentle like water in a bowl till she left my office.

Now, did I have to do that when there is a media team for the governor? They left him alone struggling to defend what ordinary should have been waived off by a media officer with sound logic, yet it was in the air for months.

Now the guy is making roads which are not costing peanuts.

From Gate to Adegbayi, from Oke- Adu to Gate, from Idi Ape to Barracks gate along Olonda road and one other.

People are grumbling everywhere. Who sent him to build roads, after all people are still using the existing ones?

There is communication hiatus. Nobody is telling them that people spend as much as 3 hours on busy days on the stretch from Idi-Ape to Ojunrin.

Nobody is educating them to the effect that vehicle staying on the road without moving end up damage the road. They are not being informed that vehicles do not like idling. Nobody tells them that traffic grid lock means more fuel consumption. In all, nobody is tells them the cost implications of all these.  Is it my job to do this. You know the answer.

Fayose’s all boys children are out there spending money like water but somehow he gets the press silent about it. The news you hear about them is the one who graduated from Covenant University which his media team turned into Michel Jackson best hit-bluer than blue.

You see, Fayoses children are schooling in Nigeria unlike APC kids. Of course, some of us rubbished that. If Fayose wants to be a role model he should have sent the boy to the University at Ado-Ekiti. In any case, Covenant University is as expensive as a low-fee- University in London. Perhaps the guy could not even meet the admission requirements.

In Ibadan, Ajimobi’s daughter’s attempt to defend his father when some nincompoops were abusing him was turned against the governor and went viral like a flash. The man was left alone to wriggle out with no noticeable support from his media team or did I miss something.

Back to this Ibadan chieftaincy declaration brouhaha. I have tried to engage some Ibadan indigenes on this twice and I am convinced that if this had been explained to them, it would have turned out a success and Ajimobi would be smelling of roses.

Our discussion went something like this.

Why would Ibadan be different I asked them. See, in Ijebu, Awujale is sitting there in all his majesty, while Ijebu-Igbo, Ago- Iwoye, Odogbolu, Ikenne and many big towns with paramount rulers are each a maximum of 20 minutes away from Ijebu-Ode and all Ijebus know their number one king. Oh, No. that is their culture, Ours is different, they answered.

Ok, what of Egba? Abeokuta is not half of Ibadan yet they have 5 paramount rulers in the same town. Osile of Oke-Ona, Olowu of Owu, Onigbagura of Gbagura andOlu of Ibara with Alake of Egbaland as the first among equals. No that is Egba not Ibadan, they chorused.

I am proudly Ekiti and feel so good as an Ibadan boy, my sate does not have as many vehicles as Egbeda and Lagelu combined yet we have a king almost every 10 kilometre, I preferred.

For effect I added. Guru Mahraji to Moniya will take you about 60 minutes drive by which period a crazy driver would have gotten to  Osu or Ilesha in Osun state. Yes that is their own, Ibadan is different, it is our culture. They cannot do this with the emirs.

I reminded them that in recent History Abacha dethroned a reigning Sultan. Babangida banned the emir of Kano and Ooni of Ife from travelling out for 6 months, we still drank our Akamu the following day, I replied. They accepted.

What do you call culture? It evolves and never static I said. At a time if you had twins you better let nobody know. Now, people have quadruplets and even ask the government to take then over their feeding.

At a time in Yoruba land, when an Oba died, you had to burry some people with him but today nobody dares. Before, the king would just take anybody’s wife and add to the harem in his yard without anybody as much as lifting a finger. If a king does that today, he will stand in the box with his crown and beads. They listened and I went for the icing on the cake.

ooni Ogunwusi

Ok gentlemen you want Ibadan state? Yes why not. Ok, if the government approves it for you tomorrow you will accept? Yes of course they chorused giving a look like what is this fool asking us. Who will refuse a state?

Now, by next week the president says he wants all first class Obas from the South West in Abuja. EKiti goes with 20, Osun has 20, Ogun goes with19. Eko has 15, Ondo flies in with 21 and the new Ibadan state goes with 1, does it not seem like something is wrong somewhere ? Silence. End of argument.

This is what the media team should have done. A one hour questions and answers time with a top Ibadan man or woman in government on the radio and TV with all stations anchoring would have done the job.

Before we are through with this, there is one very important aspect of the declaration which many people missed out because nobody told them- the average age at which the Olubadan ascends the throne.

They all get there aged because of the many rungs on the ladder they have to climb. At that age they have lost the vigour and strength to be effective.

Government says the ladder will be shortened so that an Olubadan will ascend the throne younger with more strength to do the job. The Ifes went for the younger Ogunwusi instead of his father because he is still young. If his father had been chosen, it is doubtful if he would have been as active as the younger one.

The way out is to explain this issue to the Ibadan people and let them know they have much to gain in this declaration. You cannot force it down their throat.

Oloye Lekan Alabi

There is no way they will get a state with one King and it pays them to have a young Olubadan as against the octogenarians they end with all the time.

If the media team cannot do this, let the Governor flush them out and bring fresh hand. Or, they go to Lagos government and study how they do it there.  Alternatively, the governor should organise a seminar for them on ‘ how a governor enjoys a good press’.

Politics / President Muhamadu Buhari Speach This Morning 21st August 2017 by gbolah1(m): 6:41am On Aug 21, 2017
President Buhari's speech.

I am happy to address you all today on my return from medical treatment in the United Kingdom. It is by the grace of Allah that I am here with you.

I want to begin by thanking every Nigerian who prayed for my quick recovery. I also wish to thank those who lost patience with me. I understand your feeling. We have so much work to do in this country that every minute lost is a disservice to our people.

My special thanks goes to the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo. He held the fort in my absence. I’m very pleased with his performance despite the difficulties our political structure imposed on him. He did the job of leading this nation so well that I have a renewed confidence in our leaders of tomorrow.

I also thank the National Assembly, my ministers, the members of the judiciary, our security forces and civil servants across this nation who go to work everyday and look up at the picture of their leader who had been absent for long and still dedicate themselves to the task of the day.

Being sick is a human condition. While we pray that sickness does not befall even our worst enemies, it is one of those life experiences that ‘will come when it will come’. For those concerned about the financial burden my illness must have exerted on our nation, I want to dispel your fears.

Though as your president I am entitled to receive medical treatment anywhere that my doctors deemed best, I’m waiving that right. My family and friends will take care of my medical bills.

As leaders, we must lead by example. I promised to end medical tourism if elected president of Nigeria. Two years after, it has not happened. You do not have to go far to know that it has not happened. My absence from Nigeria for 103 days makes it evident. It is my personal failure. I own up to it, the same way I own up to all that we promised but have not accomplished.

As part of my renewed commitment to this country, in my remaining days as your president, I will make sure that no president of Nigeria will again have the need to travel abroad to receive medical treatment. We have done greater things in the past. We can do this.

In the last two years, we have opened the window of opportunities for tens of thousands of our young people through the N-Power entrepreneur scheme. We have school children in 13 states of Nigeria receiving free lunch at school as part of our Homegrown School Feeding Programme. In 9 states, over 26,000 are receiving N5,000 stipend a month from Conditional Cash Transfer Programme. We have stabilized the Naira and the economy. No matter how raw and uneven it may have been, we have taken a stab at the fight against corruption. Though it is still with us, its wings of impunity have been clipped. And instead of unrelenting on this fight, we are reloading and refocusing.

We have made strides here and there, but for many, the change that we promised has not materialized. In some cases, the change has taken many of our people two or three steps backwards. To them, it is hard to preach that stepping back is part of the process needed for a forward push. They may have seen the rams do it, but that does not mean that they will understand it and embrace it when it means doing with less meat in their pot of soup.

For me, this period of ailment has been an opportunity for great reflection. If I had an illusion that I would always be with you, that illusion is gone now. I will not always be with you. But I know that Nigeria will always be with you. I, therefore, come back with a renewed commitment to leave a better nation for you all. In the little time that I have left in this role as your president, I want to see a more united Nigeria for all.

Our unity can only come if we create an equitable and just nation.

I have had time to look at Nigeria from outside. I have watched with great interest how the wheels of the nation work from afar. They are not working well. All that we were afraid of are happening now.

We shall confront them. But more importantly, we shall confront the nursery where the anomalies are bred.

In re-committing myself to the Nigerian project, I am determined to listen to, and understand, the people at the fringe of our society. More often than not, we fail to give them our ears and assume that what they have to offer has little or nothing to do with our lofty dream for the nation. That, I have come to understand, is a false premise. All voices are needed in the negotiation for the advancement of the Nigerian project.

Moving forward, balancing the Nigerian project to give it a solid sense of equity and justice is paramount to me. I want all those who are committed to come to us. I want those at the forefront of the fight for restructuring Nigeria to bring to me proposals and blueprints on how to make things better.

I want to balance the seats in the House of Representative to make it fair to all. I want the number of states in each geo-political zones balanced. I want to see the resources of this nation shared in such a way that those from the areas where these resources come from do not feel cheated by the rest. I want to devolve power from the center. I want to free the regions to stand on their own. I want the geopolitical zones enshrined in our constitution. I want the presidency to rotate amongst the zones. The number of local government in each zone should be fair so that local government allocations to each zone would not be lopsided.

We need to sit down and articulate the blue print of how to make Nigeria great. I want a master plan of what should be done on my desk in six months. We need them in specific terms.

We have to radically transform this country if we want it to survive. I’m looking for a holistic treatment of all that ails us.

With the remaining time that we have, we want to set things right to make it easy for those coming behind us. We cannot wait. All along, the military has been the one putting in place constitutions and structures. Our democracy is mature enough that we can do them ourselves in tune with the desires and goals of our peoples. If we can accomplish that, the rest of the task of governing this beautiful country should be a lot easier, not just for this generation but for generations to come.

You won’t always have Buhari with you, but my job is to make sure that you will always have a Nigeria, an equitable and just country for all.

Political defeat of one section of the country only leads to progressive defeat of the whole nation.

I am ready to defend this vision of a new Nigeria with the last breath in me.

It is very unfortunate that we have been programmed to believe that in a family, injustice to one does not impact the cohesion and commitment of the other to the family. But it does. It is the reason for all the rumblings we hear in our dear country today.

To ensure my commitment to this, in a few weeks, we will convene a meeting in Aso Rock with all the young people who are so dissatisfied with the Nigerian project that they have decided to opt out of it. We want to listen to them and forge a way to regain their trust. The youths of this nation are the most important resource that we have. That should not be just a mantra to be given mere lip service. It is a statement of fact that we need to hold sacrosanct.

My generation has played its part. We must have the courage to begin a systematic disengagement so that the next generation can take the lead. I have seen them in technology hubs across Nigeria, on the streets hustling, in schools and in markets. I am confident that they can take this nation to glorious places.

If this our present malaise is a spell, it has run its course. Our mumu don do.

Thank you for listening and may God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Seun please maintain this thread to be on the front page for as many YEARS as possible. This is pat of little you can give to the yoruba race.
Am happy to proof to all this nonentity Igbo arrogant elite that are thinking they are more industrialist than yoruba men. What Igbos are good for is imitation, they love importation a lot instead of production. you hardly see them ventures in to production. they will rather prefer to go to china and produced a substandard product to force the one producing in the country to liquidate. This as happen in so many sectors. Igbos are the major people that cripple the production in Nigeria.
They always claim what they are not. I was fortunate to listen to OPJ program on WAZOBIZA radio yesterday Wednesday 19th July 2017, he interview an Igbo man that wanted to contest for ibeju lekki LG Lagos state election which is coming up on Saturday 22nd July 2017. in the interview, The igbo man his claiming Igbos are the one dominated Ibeju lekki local government and he has been assured by his fellow igbo to support him financial to build roads in many places withing the local government if he won the election.
This is a big lie and i dnt know why they always claim what they are not. am a properties owner within that axis and i know what am talking about. no right thinking person will ever wanted to associate with this man myopic thinking.
he was ask series of question in which all his response are basically on his igbo brothers will help him because they are the one dominate the LG. this man thinking is an average igbo man thinking and you cannt even try to contest for a counselor in there own town.
You will see them dragging an estate chairmanship position with a well respected and articulated yorubaS in some estate within lagos state
Yoruba need to wake up and take all the necessary space needed and not allow all this stupid people to make useless claim.
in Ibeju lekki, i konw 70percent of the properties are own by yoruba but i dont know why they like claiming what they dont have.

Excuse me,how do I seems to defraud people?
How, let me understand.
Seriously,I don't seems to understand you here.
If a person doesn't post his name or details, what audacity have you got to do so?
Is posting another person's name a form of confirmation or ridicule?
If you can't help, why deter others?
I don't direct my solicitions to you.
Oh....I hope you can edit your post and don't ridicule a fellow by that name.
Well,it's not your fault.
We have different ethic of approaching things.

post all your details of your department/admission number and your location, with your past scores. you may see someone to give you scholarship through here. i.e if you are not a fraudster. you cannot request help from people by not showing your genuineness.

Yoruba are great and have humans feeling. we always love to help each other to grow.that's the spirit of a Yoruba person.

hope this is not another Yoruba boy trying to copy those igbo fraudster? if your intention is not pure, believe me you will get arrested in couple of days, is better to stop derail well thoughtful thread.

You may not know numbers of highly place fellow that's following this thread. dont think of defrauding people through here or become a corporate beggar which yoruba are not knowing for. be a good representative of Yoruba race.
God will be with you if you truly need help

i believed the alleged account number name you posted is Mayowa Olusanjo Afolabi. you will need to proof to people that you are actually in OAU and you are facing your study with total commitment to your education, not that you are one of the yahoo boy.
