Family / Re: Is There A Need To Validate A Woman's Fertility By Impregnating Her B4 Marriage? by gbubs: 8:35am On Jun 05, 2010
If yes, then the concept of ', for better for worse' should be scrapped.
It all depends on the man and purpose of 'that' marriage.
I dont think its necessary, if a man is serious enough to even consider the 'M' word with a lady, fertility shouldn't be an option. Men have fertility problems too,

Career / Re: Bad Experiences You Encounter Within Your Office. by gbubs: 8:10am On Mar 29, 2010
I have had several bad experiences but wont be mentioning them here'cause my colleaques frequent this forum, but my advice to anyone is never ever make friends at work, apart from official stuff, no one should even know the name of your mother, that way you wont be burnt and also be very good at what you do because that was what saved me and is still working for me, i was supposedly suspended for 5days due to my being set-up but because of my contribution to the company it was reduced to 2days, infact it was almost cancelled until the very person i went to for help advised the management to make sure i sit at home for some days. After that experience i have been like an island, some call me hermit, some snub, I don't care what they call me all I know is if they don't know you they cant hurt you, nobody but my boss even has my mobile number, if i discover the number has leaked, I change it, for all they know I may be an undercover agent, the trick is MAKE THEM AFRAID OF YOU, but exclude your boss form this list and all will be well plus never ever try these crazy politics or eye-service that is going on in most offices now, bad karma for you,

Why Ghana for God sake? Nigeria is better off, work  hard  and belive in yourself that things will be Good.

People relocate for different reasons. Am not trying to relocate due to economic, financial or such reasons, am just sick of this atmosphere, I will very much like to start life over in another West African country and Ghana seem to be better than the rest. I just need to get out of here, FAST!

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Telecoms Job Offer In Kano- Should I Go? by gbubs: 1:15pm On Aug 24, 2009
Its true that beauty is really in the eye of the beholder, apart from the fact that those pictures were taken with high def camera, it pictured only the beautiful places in Kano, However I would not advice a non Muslim to stay there, I was in Kano for 8months, I enjoyed my stay, except for the constant blackout (Power) and fear of Christian-haters maiming me at any time because I stand at my balcony with my shorts and get very nasty looks, and if u wear their gown, they will call u a hypocrite. I resided beside a mosque and lived in constant fear, when I got transferred out of Kano I was liberated, but with this Boko-Haram issue, I fear for your friend o! There is a level of decay in every state in Nigeria, Kano has more of it, don't be fooled by those pictures, however if the offer for the job is very attractive, then let your friend take it, Its good to gamble sometimes, He may enjoy the place tho.
Religion / Re: Is It Ok To Pay My Tithes To Different Churches? by gbubs: 9:28am On Aug 19, 2009
1) How come Jehovah witness with all the books they Give out and networking that they have , they don't beg for money

2)With all this money begging in the Church, How come Islam is still the fastest growing religion in the World That it even shakes the western world and they don't Beg for money
Jehovah witness begs for money, there was a time they gave me their mag which used to be free and asked for money, i told them i dint have anything on me then and guess what? the guy collected the mag back! maybe he is a hungry one but as far as am concerned, he represents Jehovah witness,

Please can you back up your claim about Islam being the fastest growing religion in the world? and if its true its probably because the human race is violent and Islam promotes violence,
Religion / Re: Is It Ok To Pay My Tithes To Different Churches? by gbubs: 5:39pm On Aug 18, 2009
Is it even mandatory to pay tithe to a church? where in the Holy Bible was it mentioned that tithe must be paid to the church? You mean I cant decide to remove the 10% and give it to a beggar or a charity? how come "storehouse" = "church" I have been asking this question since I knew the meaning of tithe but no one has given me any correct answers yet, maybe I will get it here
Business / Re: What Sells In Nigeria These Days? by gbubs: 6:47pm On Jul 29, 2009
Simple, Food, drinks or just CONSUMABLES!
No matter how hard things are economically in the country, people will eat, drink and cloth (correct?) themselves.
Set up an eatery, Joint with a flat screen TV where people can watch football musical and relax and some boutiques
There is no how you wont get a daily return!
Culture / Re: Is It Ever Too Late To Learn Your Language? by gbubs: 2:51pm On Jul 27, 2009
I don't think so, was never taught as a child, infact my Father insists on "No vernacular in the house" said if he wanted us to speak Itsekiri, we would have been brought up in the village, the guy wanted only "English" and he got it, my eldest Sis (29yrs) cant speak or understand, same goes for the rest of us (3). I really desire to learn it but I have got no teacher, its very difficult coming across an Itsekiri speaking person, don't even know the meaning of my name, Imagine!

Education / "ssanu Is Blackmailing Us - Fg - Says No Plans To Introduce: " (n180,000) by gbubs: 1:35pm On Jul 21, 2009
Clement Idoko, Abuja - 21.07.2009

"THE Federal Government, on Monday, refuted claim by the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) that it had planned to introduce N180,000 tuition fees for each student per session in the federal universities in the country.
Minister of Education, Dr. Sam Egwu, reacting to the development in Abuja that culminated into the indefinite strike by the union, on Monday, said it was an attempt to blackmail the government.
Egwu, however, appealed to the striking university lecturers to return to class in the interest of the Nigerian children, assuring that the government was doing all it could within the limit of its resources to resolve all the issues amicably.
SSANU, President, Comrade Promise Adewusi, rising from the union’s National Executive Council Meeting, told journalists, on Sunday, that the Federal Government was planning to introduce outrageous N180,000 tuition fees per session in federal universities, which was rejected by the union.
Dr. Egwu, at the news conference in Abuja, said: “I wish to assure you and all Nigerians that this was not an issue during the re-negotiations referred to by SSANU.
“For the sake of emphasis, government has never contemplated nor has it introduced tuition fees in federal tertiary institutions. I, therefore, consider this a deliberate attempt on the part of SSANU to blackmail the government,” he stated.
The minister, who also ruled outthe possibility of granting the union’s demand for 60-year retirement age, clarified that retirement age as applicable to all public servants, non-academic staff inclusive remained 60 years."

First thing first, contrary to popular opinion, A-town is quite sane, the borrowed idea was just the problem, my guy was probably relaxing at a joint when he overheard all he reproduced here and I guess the owner of the original idea is not his acquaintance either otherwise he would have gone to them for answers to the reasonable questions asked so NLs please forgive him for the idea was not originally his  wink

@topic:
Government has no business in education. In the beginning education was in the hands of the private sector, mostly the missionaries. Likes of Queens and Kings college, remains the best school today and there were no interference from government. Everything changed when we struck oil and govt was overwhelmed with oil wealth, so all private schools were taken over by the govt because they taught there was money to run them. United Nations wants 25% for education but our govt as usual put less than 5% hence the crises. Instead, more money than in education is used to fight the militants. So govt should return all the primary and secondary schools back to the missionaries, let the private fund it, at first it may seem expensive but will adjust with time, then govt can concentrate on conducting secured examinations that will measure the standard for all schools. Before some NLs start throwing e-tomatoes at me, don't get me wrong, education problems cannot be solved alone without solving the social economic problems like light, water, security, infrastructure etc. As any progress made in education will be drowned by the overwhelming problem from other sectors.
The bottom line is all these people dont know how to govern, we are already no 15 on "failed state" list and i can see our "2015" coming fast.
But all these are civilized suggestions and solutions, the most rational thing to do will be to get guns from these naija delta guys and kill these old cargos, plus the yeye Gambari's, they dont value education and will ruin whatever we have during their term in office, we may need to contact General Rollins tho on the revolution stuff
Romance / Re: Must Girlfriends Demand An Allowance? by gbubs: 6:56pm On Jul 20, 2009
From experience and in my own opinion, I think the onus lies with the guy; if he like the idea, good, if not, no need!. Just like when my guy and I started some years back (we are still together), my No. 1 policy then was "Never get financial Support from any man" (except my Dad of course!). I continued like that o for a long time till my bf said paying for my hair and stuff makes him feel "in charge", of course I refused blantantly but it was as if I was cheap and then he started looking elsewhere (you know, looking for a lady that he can spend on), you know there are men like this, they just feel they must spend this money, anyways apart from paying for my hair and stuff, he came up with the idea of giving me a monthly allowance! of course I work and have a steady income so does he, after some shakara on my side, I accepted!  wink, he even updates it regularly as his income increases, apart from the monthly allowance he still pays for my hair and stuff, but it was all his idea, never mine, and I have come across men who when they ask me out and I turn them down, they think its all about MONEY!, then they come up with these bullshit lines "I'll take care of you", "I can afford you, " and the harder you resist the more desperate they become, so what do I do with such men? I collect their money of course and when at the end of the day they still discover that am not interested they say "she chop my money" like say I force them! Anyways, the issue of allowance and stuff should not even be discussed in a relationship, if the guy wants to be responsible for her hair, fine! if not, make she pay for her hair o, after all na her hair!

Call center is your best bet, make calls and sell recharge cards, but you have to manage it yourself for now as you cant afford any employee with this capital. Make nice offers, outrageous price slash and you will see, wink
