They would rather prefer the Herdsmen.
Ladies--fulanis
Men--Igbos and yorubas and other tribes.

CultureRe: Controversial Or True About Men Vs Women ? See Image by Gee64: 1:57pm On Nov 07, 2021
As a man, I think I have a philosophical answer to this.
Women don't need to be taught how to treat a man well because it comes naturally with them. They gave birth to the men and know how to cuddle their babies except when these babies acquire bad manners from the outside world! grin

CultureRe: Nigerian Youth Are Not The Future Of Nigeria by Gee64: 1:15pm On Nov 07, 2021
True.

Fraud
Corruption
Rape
Indolence
Money Ritual
Robbery
Religious fanaticism
Tribalism

Are their stock in trade.
How can these lead a nation rightly?
techgeniusworld:
It's Amazing in 2021 that Nigerian Youth believe cheap cliches. The Youth are Never the Future of Any country. The Future is doing things Rightly. If you have a legion of hoodlums as youth that is a future of crime. The Youth do not naturally provide a better future because they are youth like most people think.
Saying and believing the Youth are the right future is poor thinking. Nigerian Youth love to pretend they are different from their Corrupt leaders but their Corrupt leaders kept the Greed and corruption in Nigeria while the youth are using iPhones and computers to defraud Americans and British via the Internet. From Nairaland the way people spew abuses at females, different religions and ethnic groups it goes to show the " sophisticated" ( because they use Smartphones ) are no different from the illiterate in the village who believes people from other ethnic groups are evil while their own ethnic group is pure. Such silly thinking but that is how 79 percent of Nairalanders think.
The Future belongs to the righteous.
The Righteousness of a people exhalted a Nation.

Some men who are virgins also have small dicks....See facts here on a Nairaland thread:

Why can't people just live in peace?

Why are they so blood-thirsty?

Evil has taken possession of man's heart.

Even on Nairaland, some people are defending evil and suppressing the truth.

Such a shame!

I believe you.
ThankYouGod:
They make the offer attractive by saying:

1. You don't need any tech experience to join
2. You can attend the school anywhere in the world because it's online.
3. You can apply even if you don't have a laptop. They promise to provide laptop.
4. You will be employable in a year.
5. Your age does not matter.
6. It's tuition free
7. They will get you job after the training
8. You only pay back when you're employed.
9. They are affiliated with a recognised university to issue you a certificate.
10. You don't need degree to join.

Who wouldn't apply seeing the above and the only barrier is paying #10k or $20?

Thousands of people will pay that amount to register. It's not limited to only Nigerians.

Can they get job for everyone if they admit everyone? No! They will just take in few people. So, bulk of their income will come from the registration fees.
ProgrammingRe: How I Would Go About Learning Programming If I Was To Start Today (2021/2022) by Gee64: 9:15am On Nov 04, 2021
Sounds Greek to me.
Please as a beginner do you think online courses can help? If so, please recommend the best for me.
DualCore1:
TLDR:
1. Fullstack developer bootcamp
2. Harvard CS50x courses
3. TeachyourselfCS or OSSU or P1XT
4. Read the docs
====

If I was to start all over (from a fullstack developer point of view) I'll do a Fullstack Developer bootcamp from any of the courses with good reviews to just get an idea of how all the pieces come together to work.

After that I'll go asynchronous with my learning pattern. Two parallel streams of learning, "middle-down" and "middle-up". That bootcamp course may pretty much put me at the middle, where I'll know so much to get stuff done and to fuel my desire to know how stuff really works under the hood. I don't want to be the guy that doesnt know how/when to use recursion over a loop iteration.

// for middle-down
// objective: to deepen my understanding of the fundamentals that hardly change
======
I'll take all the Harvard CS50x courses
Then I'll take one of any of the following:
1. TeachyourselfCS
2. OSSU
3. P1XT

// for middle-up
// objective: to broaden my understand and keep up with changing technologies
// this will take a lifetime so there's no end to this phase
=====
I'll focus on reading the docs for all the techs I was exposed to in the bootcamp. So this is where I'll dig into the docs for the following
MDN, NodeJS, Express, Fastify, React, Next, Git, Openshift, Postman, Docker and so on.
Its also in this phase I'll read some good books like EloquentJS, Code Complete 2 and the YDKJS series.

There's so much involved in being a programmer but we tend to focus on a small aspect of it: coding... I may never be able to fully explain how I dislike the term 'coder'.

In the corporate world you'll quickly get to a point where you spend less than half of your 40-hour week actually writing code and more of that time:
* in meetings (some coulda just been an email),
* planning the development of features,
* peer reviewing PRs,
* writing tests with a decent amount of coverage,
* setting up delivery pipelines,
* having to triage defects,
* writing documentations

I came across this platform online and it is claiming that I wouldn't need to pay tuition fees until employed.
But it is asking I pay $19.99 enrolment fee for any of the specialties chosen.

My questions are,
1. Do they have hidden fees after this payment?
2. How do they get the tuition fee after being employed?

Please, if you are currently studying with them, please share your experience.
