slimming: State creation will reduce the agitation for break up among the regions. How on earth will the creation of a state within a region, reduce the agitation of the region for true federalism or autonomy? |
Do people still fall for cheap omo Igbo tricks like these? |
What a shame. These people again |
Okay |
Update |
N65bn!? As if it's a new road they are building. The cost of roads in Nigeria is like ten times the cost of building siimilar roads in other countries. Kilode? Anyways great development for Ogun, Ondo and Edo states |
Yes I can confirm that a whole lot has been happening in Lagos, Ogun, Oyo and Osun states as factories have been springing up powered by indigenous and multinational folks. Looking at my marketing staff's customer acquisitions and balance sheets, not less than 200 of those factories have emerged in those states in the last 2 years |
afam4eva: If they refuse to do it, then it means they've failed in their duty. Anambra and Delta state will only fund the project if they become more financially buoyant.Delta state's revenue (not IGR) is the 3rd highest in Nigeria. In government, you must look at the economic importance and viability of a project. Just means this project means nothing to them. Why is the Osun state government contemplating a rail line to Lagos that will transport farm produce? |
afam4eva: And who says Lagos-Badagry is not a federal road? If Fashola repaired does it mean every state government must spend their money on what's the duty of the federal government? If they dio it, what will now be the job of the federal government as it pertains to roads? I still maintain that there are many issues that are left to be resolved by these states.Okay keep waiting for the FG, your sixteen lane 2nd Niger bridge with Express Rail tracks will be delivered to you shortly.. |
afam4eva: That Fashola did it doesn't mean everyone should. It's a federal property and so, it should be done bu the FG. Anambra and Delta state have a lot of things on their hands at the moment. So its Fashola who governs a state with 10% of Nigeria's population and controls 60% of Nigeria's economy that doesn't have a lot of things in his hands at the moment? Mention one challenge Delta and Anambra have and I will list four that Lagos has to tackle. And what makes you think the Lagos Badagry Expressway is not the FG's? I know you hate to hear it but its the Yoruba way of doing things. Dig into history and see what Awolowo made of the Western region and you'll come to realize what I mean .. |
Someone should tell me why Anambra and Delta states have not come together to execute this perennial project called the 2nd Niger Bridge. Can it be as expensive as Uncle Fashola's Lagos-Badagry Expressway. Its all about vision. Give it to the Yaribas anyday. |
In my opinion this project is a waste of funds. They can as well dredge it further up to Lokoja which is close to Abuja. The EIA should show that as a region prone to errosion, dredging of an adjoining waterway shouldn't have been contemplated in the first place. The coastal states of Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa Ibom and Cross Rivers are enough to build ports that can serve the whole of Africa. They can build Dry Ports with rail lines from Sea Ports instead ... |
At an average of N1.2m per victim, it means kidnapping has become retail business although you can be too sure people will inflate the amount paid as ransom. Too bad the kidnappers won't turn up to refute the claims but really shows the depth of greed and criminal tendencies in our society |
The Ogun State government has sought economic cooperation with Japan for the establishment of an automobile assembly plant and industrial park in the state. The state governor, Ibikunle Amosun, expressed this while receiving a delegation from Japan, led by the Japanese Ambassador to Nigeria, Rt. Hon. Rywichi Shoji, in his office in Abeokuta, He said his administration was ready to collaborate with Japan on human capacity development, industrialization, energy and long-term financing. While commending the administration for providing the much needed conducive atmosphere for business, Mr. Shoji, described the state as an emerging economy which paraded the best brains and geographically remained the center of industry, based on its rich land mass and closeness to Lagos and other West African countries. He said the visit has afforded the team the opportunity to share first-hand information on areas of cooperation with the state. Posted by Channels Television on September 4, 2012. |
Obodoukwu Imoha, Nkerefi community in Nkanu East Local Government Area of Enugu are yet to recover from the weekend shock. They are also yet to identify the reasons a young man allegedly went berserk and inflicted several machete cuts on his father, killing him instantly. The suspect identified by the police as Chinedu Umahi, was said to have killed his father, Mr. Uwanuakwa Umahi while he was resting in his house about 6 pm on Saturday, September 1, with a sharp machete with which he gave him deep cuts in his body. The police in Enugu said the man became unconscious following severe bleeding and was rushed to a hospital at Agbani in the neighbouring Nkanu West Local Government Area where he died few hours later. Chinedu is now said to be in police custody where he had allegedly admitted killing his father. The State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu, confirmed the incident yesterday, saying that the command has already commenced investigations into the incident. He said: “We are investigating an incident in which a son gave his father several machete cuts at Obodoukwu Imoha, Nkerefi in Nkanu East local Government Area of the state for a yet to be established reason. The victim, one Uwanuakwa Umahi was alleged to have been macheted by his own son Chinedu. “The victim was said to be resting in his house that fateful day when his son suddenly came in and started cutting him with the machete. The man tried to escape through the window but he could not because of severe injuries he had already sustained hence he became unconscious. The man was later rushed to the General Hospital Agbani for treatment but he was confirmed dead.” |
Take it or leave it Hate it or love it From my assessment, Olusegun Obasanjo is the only reason why Nigeria is still together as every other leader that can infulence what direction the ship of Nigeria is steeered, only sees things through thick ethnic lenses. He's the only living Nigerian who is politically relevant pan Nigeria. No other Nigerian commands this respect. He may live to be 80, 90 or even 100 but the day he passes on, Nigeria may begin her irredeemable slide into the trenches of disintegration. How sad |
Can this happen like now? As in right now |
mekuslogan: Lagos' problem is intractable. It is in the interest of Yorubas to support a program of even development of the country so that the number of those moving to Lagos (Nigeria's former capital developed with our collective wealth) from all parts of Nigeria will reduce. The more they keep playing tribalism with the developement of other places, the more Lagos is swamped, to the disadvantage of the Yorubas. Now Igbos even rent houses to Yorubas in some parts of Lagos (Festac, Satellite town, etc)So what makes you think the SW doesn't have a regional economic plan? |
If its about the standing, I can tell you for free that it happens even in the most advanced countries. What the heck do you think the handrails are there for? To hang pants and bras? |
