Macgyver1:Bros, I dey always fear your dream o. Are you sure this APL is not irl? ![]() |
Guys, There is a fallacy called "ad hominem fallacy", or "argumentum ad hominem fallacy". From Wikipedia, "Ad hominem (Latin for "to the person"[1]), short for argumentum ad hominem, is a fallacious argumentative strategy whereby genuine discussion of the topic at hand is avoided by instead attacking the character, motive, or other attribute of the person making the argument, or persons associated with the argument, rather than attacking the substance of the argument itself" While some people believe in sharing thoughts and ideas to fellow contestants, others are vehemently against it. There is no problem with both, y'all are entitled to your opinion. But you don't have to abuse someone, call someone stupid or fight someone to make your point. It is totally unnecessary. Let us have civil discussions. If we do not reach a compromise, then we can agree to disagree. ![]() |
sibabe25:Hey there, You wanted to appreciate the guy, that's a very good gesture. But you don't really need to throw jibes at others to make your point. Everyone shares what they feel will help others. Some are detailed, and some are summarized. We are all friends here, and hoping to be among the selected 1000. Have a wonderful night rest ![]() |
johnayanyo:You are a good man and have a kind heart. I sincerely hope and pray for you to get this job. |
omotayo9177:Bros, you attract what you think. Magnetic law..lol ![]() Please clear your mind of damaging thoughts like..you can't get a job unless you know someone. It's awkward! Change that mindset and you will realise there are so many opportunities out there. My friends are working in places you can't even imagine. World bank. UN. Total. ExxonMobil. Microsoft. Google. Nestle. What else? We all don't know anyone. We dont even want to know. Since we finished school years ago, and realize we don't have big uncles, we don't have any option but to work hard, and work smart. The results are glaring. Go for the interview. Put in your best. Convince yourself you will get the job. You are competent, bold and daring. And pray. When you finish the interview, remove your mind from it and focus on other things. If they call.you for the job, good for NNPC. If they don't call you, their loss. They just lost a gem. |
number5:Please put it by all means. MSc is no joke. You have worked hard for so long and you dont want to flaunt it? You will round up before resumption to nnpc hopefully. |
ucheuzor1:You are a GT. You are allowed to add anything on your cv...they understand you are poised to impress. It might just show you are entrepreneurial. But, prepare for a question like..how do you think the skill is beneficial and can be transferred to working at NNPC? If you can't comfortably answer this question..then drop it from your cv. |
kcjnr007:You dont need to directly answer the question if asked. You might say something like you believe NNPC is better suited to your long term career goals. If they insist on why you are leaving, career progression is always a right answer...lol just dodge the question and focus on why you are applying to nnpc.. ![]() Or if you have extensive experience..you can totally leave it out of your cv... |
I did mine today. A bit of info to help you guys coming later. Review your CV very well. Basically, your CV is your interview. GTs, If you cannot honestly defend what's on your CV, change it now (you can now..no one has seen it yet) to a simpler one and make six copies. Lol, CV is just one part of the interview. So, this is no "expo". But your CV determines the tone of your interview. Prepare for situational/behavioral questions. At least one. IFTTT, if this happens, what will you do... this particular question is almost different for everyone. So don't expect to be asked what your friend was asked. Prepare for one NNPC related question. It is different based on which group is interviewing you. It might be..why should we hire you? What can you do for NNPC? How do you contribute to the vision of the company? Where do you fit in? Anything like these...so don't cram anything. Almost everyone started the interview with "tell us about yourself/can we meet you?" This question looks simple, but it is not. Google how to answer this question under 2 minutes without blabbering. Prepare for standard interview questions... conflict resolution/teamwork/leadership scenario, etc...Just prepare like it is another standard interview. Be calm, and say your mind. Structure your responses well, a little bit of fact, a little bit of cockiness... ............... PS: Sharing these tips does not reduce my chance in any way. God helps us all!! Peace out! |
Macgyver1:Congrats my guy. You are in already. I told you |
Macgyver1:Nairalanders in the amphitheatre... Please can I have your attention? Gather here if you are feeling sleepy already. ![]() |
Macgyver1: CsRockefeller:Hopefully both of you guys won't need to update your CV anytime soon...interview to Appointment Letter ![]() |
Haha, thank God for Social Media. I hope he refunded the excess money he collected. |
souljar:Lol ![]() I like taunting all those lawyers my brother. They will start calling one another "learned colleagues"..the rest of us will now be thinking whether we are still in secondary school. Like? No be learning we sef dey do? ![]() |
Topzylaw:So those of us that did not study Law, we are not learned abi? ![]() |
LadyHeaven:What's the update on this issue? Was it a scam finally? |
Kayceenaz:Not too far. At off-peak hours, you can get to CBD in less than an hour. |
iammiracle1:Nowadays, reference are checked ONLY after you have been given an offer. The reference check is part of the checks during probation period. Good people, This is a faceless forum. There are good people and bad people. Please be wary of sharing your itineraries, travelling times, location and personal details like emails and phone numbers. Be careful in accepting favours - favours over the internet. Use your discretion. If you must meet someone, meet them in a public place and don't be too trusting. Lol eyes don see abeg ![]() There are still good people out there sha. Just be very careful. |
iammiracle1:There are only two things you should know. Speak the truth. Be super confident. ...... Know about nnpc/its subsidiaries/current happenings Know about your state Know what's in your cv. Before they ask you, ask yourself now..what do you bring to the table? Why should they hire you? What's your vision for your life? What's your vision for NNPC But in summary, be super confident and always speak the truth. Interview don finish. You did not come this far to be scared and shaky. Welcome to NNPC ![]() |
Kayceenaz:Insider suggestion. Don't look for Hotels close to NNPC, they are expensive. Look for hotels in areas far from CBD..they are cheaper, then leave early on your interview day. There isn't much traffic problem in Abuja. Look for hotels in.. Garki Area 3, Area 7, Area 10 Wuse Apo Jabi/Kado/Lifecamp Or if you really are on a budget Lugbe Jahi Kubwa If you really need to save Nyanya Mararaba Jikwoi Kuje .. But try and pray and be safe. Don't move in Abuja at night unless necessary There is a rise in mugging, robbing, carjacking etc. If anyone/two people in a car stop you and want to harass you to get in, don't ever step into the car unless they are in uniforms, the car is a police car, and they have IDs, and then, use your discretion. If they try and point a gun at you, shout/run. Criminals easily notice newcomers. So be sharp and prayerful. Avoid places that are scanty, Be safe. Avoid club areas around Wuse 2 if you don't have business there. I pray you go and return safely. |
NekkyCee:Neeky camdan... Invites are still coming in. |
Jarus: Jarus, You can always create a link for Skype Group calling. I believe the participants can be up to 25 or thereabouts. You can create links for different times over the weekend and send the link to people who have paid. This might reduce associated cost of Skype tutorials. I'm really interested, but that 15k...God dey.. If Skype does not work, you can always use Zoom. Thanks |
ALKARULEZZ:List of Unforeseen Circumstances (Force Majeure) ![]() You are not feeling fine You were called for urgent family issues in your village Your close family member got ill (mother, father etc) You have urgent personal issues and you need to travel (no explanation) People, please add other feasible excuses... God forgive me ![]() |
