Ammishaddai: A state of emergency needs to be declared in the three tiers of government , because this country has too many illiterates in office carrying forged or doctored university certificates.
The more you see , the less you understand. #Banana republic
uuzba: There is no food and security for most Nigerians and so they will save as much money as required just for food and security. - Americans have cheap food and security. So they have time to consider and obey laws. There's a difference.
Most Nigerians Don't like to do the right thing. It's for our safety and benefit if done the right way, but alot will still try and cut corners concerning this. I still admire Lagos no nonsense way of dealing with offenders even though sometimes high handed. Let's see how it will be implemented.
killALIEN: You must be daft not to know the prophet of a particular group of people was a known child sex offender. Like prophet, like followers.
Chairman. Foolishness association of Nigeria. We hail you. Continue. Ok. So Your Christanity teaches you to be attacking other religions. What a stupid dunce
See all these Tribalistic & Religious monkeys saying it is islamization. They can't just bare to remain neutral or say let's see how this goes. When Rochas did this in Imo, you did not shout Islamization. Countries like Gambia, Iceland , Japan practice this 4 day work system and it has nothing to do with religion. Doing some research would save you lots from sounding very annoying and stupid. Having sense shouldn't be so difficult because of tribe & religion.
Kenturkey048: David doesn't block reasonable people. He gives responses to reasonable people and Full knock out to people asking stupid questions to discredit his works.
Go and check his timeline well. People have asked legit and sensible questions just like anyone with a curious mind would, or someone wanting to understand more from his reports. Some he doesn't even give them any courtesy of a reply, he just goes ahead and block them. Discredit his work! Is he God! Who is he that he can't be criticized. He can dish out fire but can't take the heat himself.
Kuriosmynd: .. Okay Sir. I doubt u hardly read without bias. . The young man usually takes so much pain to go extra length to present evidence , facts, document, videos, resersch work, data...and etc just to establish fact, One of the most painstaking investigative shit u can read in Nigeria...yet u guys are usually so prejudiced and and about personal vendatta and envy. .
Agreed he takes so much time to research & investigate and provide facts, but when people pick loopholes in his reports and ask questions he decides to block them. If you don't see that as a red flag, and you think that is prejudice then I think you really need to drop the glasses and look with your bare eyes . So to ask question has turned to personal vendetta & envy. Are you like serious
Kuriosmynd: You are one of the problems in Nigeria. U deserve the blocks
So everyone should swallow and believe all his reports just like that without asking questions. If that's the case we should just sit down and believe every story, that comes out of everybody's mouth.
Kuriosmynd: David Hundeyin is the hottest investigative journalist at the moment, who always with his articles cause problem for the ruling class to the extent that they so hate him, he's now on exile, even the old fashioned traditional brown envelope styled journalist in Nigeria also hate him for his gut, no-nonsense take and the impact his articles usually make. . if you are not reading his investigative stories, articles, or following him on Twitter, then you are missing so much of information and analysis of Nigeria's politicial climate.
And he's just 31. That's how you make impact. He's a kind of inspirational person the young generation can look up in the rotten system; a fresh breath of hope, love for justice, integrity, competence, and excellence. But here we celebrate fools and mediocres.
Yeah! But when asked questions to clarify and come clean on some of his reports, he decides to block people. So much for Inspiration when you decide to give heat but he cant reply simple questions!!
Leverage2021: Good for him seems christians don't force or order fatwa on people like him
If Na for our religion we don kill am sharp sharp
Sunan Abi Dawud 4356
A man who turned back from Islam was brought to Abu Musa. He invited him to repent for twenty days or about so. Muadh then came and invited him (to embrace Islam) but he refused. So he was beheaded
So what is the aim of this your post! Did anyone point a gun to your head to accept Islam. Are you residing in Borno state facing persecution from Book haram! Or are you in Afghanistan running from the Taliban. You're quoting rubbish from God knows where. Or did anyone come to complain to you in this forum. Or did anyone ask for your aproko opinion! Please leverage your brain. Foolishness is free O.
I always thought Benue only had Tivs & Idomas as tribes, not until 2013 when I met this guy when I used to work in Katsina. We got talking and he said he was Igede from Benue, prior to then I have never heard that tribe. But I have gone on to meet other igede's since then. From my interactions with them, so far I can say they are lively and friendly people. They are also hard working as I worked with that 1st guy. They like to groove and have fun too. Correct guys so far.
Dont know how long you've been on Nairaland but be prepared to tolerate alot of bulshit from those guys. Over the years, there's literally nothing they've not thrown at me. Recently they started claiming Ameka is Igbo land and part of Biafra. My clan, part of Biafra, how!!??
Very annoying species of humans.
Yeah. Very annoying! They've turned Nairaland to a very toxic space.
Ammishaddai: The national association of Al-majeri is begging people that are tagged as "Haram" for humanitarian aid ? No o , they should meet Buhari and Funtua to send humanitarian aid to them and their orphanages. After all, they are from that region and the loot they have amassed is enough to cater for the north for 6 years
A pastor is seeking assistance from Davido, but you that can't even give your neighbour shishi open mouth waaaa thinking you have an opinion. That's why some people always remain the way they are without any serious progress.
I just discovered that I am not patriotic to anything relating to Nigeria unlike before. I can still remember I cried once for super eagle because they failed to qualify for African cup of nation. But this is me now, I don't care if they qualify for world cup or not, I don't care if they will be kick out in group stage or not. As a matter of fact I am not supporting that team at all.
The only team that can make me shade so much tears for them Is BIAFRA Football team, aside that ,Dem never born any other team.
Take your tribalism and Biafra agitation to the politics section. Stop derailing.
ShootThemAll: Your name must have been replaced with one almajiri from the parasite region, that couldn't take the test or scale through interviews, patiently waiting for you to finish the most tedious parts. Nah them full FIRS.
So indirectly Muslims and Christians don't mix? And what about the few pagans, traditional worshipers in the supposed Muslim areas, I believe they own the beer joints been destroyed, are they not also forced against their will and put out of business? In the first place is Islam a Nigerian culture or Arabic culture? Before Islam came, people had their way of life, why Implement Isbah across several states with state funds but did not do same to keep their cultural heritage in check. You spend sate funds to keep Islamic laws in check, but don't do same for your traditional religion that has been there for years. What about the Christians up north? Are they allowed also to have a Christian police who will be Paid by the government.
I don't know how true this is, but I heard Isbah police have guns too.
Sir! This hisbah of a thing is just political. And presently it is only the ones in Kano that are kind of active when they want to be. People have come to realize they are just political tools and hypocrites when it comes to dispensing their duties and providing Justice. They go after the poor and helpless and turn a blind eye when the high and mighty do the same. It is an employment driver and an ego booster for Islamic fundamentalists. As far as I know, Christians are allowed to go about their businesses without harassment, it is when Muslims get involved in things considered unIslamic or are found in such situations that you would see hisbah step in. Any other thing is mostly eye service and being overzealous. So forget those guys, they are just nuisances who give Islam bad press.
J3susFr3ak: And THIS is where the real problem is....kicking the can down the road! The whole viscous cycle is perpetuated by this very indecision and lack of will to restructure the whole country. So assuming another President comes in and wants to do real justice and return all real indigenous people back to their farmlands, decentralize the whole security architecture of the country by favoring some form of State or Regional Police, push for true Federalism--do we now wait for another petty nepotistic Buhari like figure to emerge again to reverse all those gains and implement the types of unpopular policies currently done today?
The smart option is pave the way to do the most logical thing now....allow for the re-structuring of the country that allows for states to design their own Security Architecture with its own checks and balances---rather than wait for everything to come from Abuja. I bet you...people will zealously fight for their land, for their freedom and for the future of their children than let any alien Terroristic element invade and display with Federal support as is currently is the case.
I think deep down Muslims do not want to restructure the country because the current system favors them. Nigeria as it is -- is like the best Islamic Country (in principle--but not in name) that they can have. Changing the status quo means being more like Niger or Chad. Even Chad is far more serious about combating its own insecurities compared to the double-speak of the current administration.
This I totally agree except for the part muslims dont want restructuring. In the situation we find ourselves now, the best is to hope the next president does the right thing because it is obvious this present one has passed the baton of governance to cronies and sychophants.
The situation presently is very dire and the political will is not there to get things right. Both leadership & Followership are in shambles and still swim in the stone age. Objective and right-thinking muslims want restructuring ! It is the political elite that are strangling that thought because they will be the biggest losers if it comes to fruitition. This depending on the center for almost everything has made many governors lazy and out of ideas. They just sit back , do nonsense , do anyhow and wait for end of the month allocation. Restruction would force everyone to put on his thinking cap and be creative and cut their coat according to their size. But the political elite do not want it because it is a cash cow for them presently. Sorry to say, but you mentioned the current system favours muslims, It favors the political class. How does it favour them withTerrorism & Banditry , Highest poverty rate, Highest in out of school children etc. It just favors the political class is the point im trying to pass. But yet again, agreed restructuring is the way forward.
freshkpomo: Isbah police? Is that not an infringement on the rights of Northern Christians? Let such be done in the south by Christians it will be war.
The truth is in terms of tolerance, don't defend Islam because it will be sentimental on your part to do visa even the blind can see and the deaf can hear.
Not defending anybody. Hisbah is for Muslims and Muslims alone. They operate in predominant Muslim areas, you would never see Hisbah operating in a Christian community. Whenever you see that just know they are being overzealous.
J3susFr3ak: Are you sure about "nobody wiping off anybody" like that? Was that not what my own little village thought before Buhari assumed power? All of a sudden armed Terrorist Fulanis allied with strange ones (from those from whatever country) came rushing and killing....no one lives there anymore at the moment. And this is repeated in around 60 other similar villages. And this is in one Middle Belt area alone. But this phenomena has also occurred everywhere like a spreading cancer as well.
So tell me again about being not "wiped off" when my own village has been "wiped off" too--with many killed and most in IDP camps.
What stops any retaliation and counter-attack now? Oh yes, the very protective Federal Government. How long will the Federal Government be around? This is NOT a sustainable strategy. Buhari has merely laid a trap for his people everywhere thinking that power is forever.
Power is not forever. Being greedy about people's natural resources (oil, lands) and thinking that killing them to possess those resources is clever. I doubt even God will support those types of actions. The injustice is too much!
That's terrible and sad. Honestly. Buhari's body language to the whole episode has not been encouraging at all, even though some of these problems preceded his government. His demeanor seems to encourage these criminals which is worrisome. But the issue of Insecurity has become a full blown pandemic under his watch. 2023 he will be on his way out, the next president has alot on his plate already. Like you said power is not forever.
J3susFr3ak: I think we should make a clear distinction here. Just because certain areas in the core North "tolerate" the existence of Christians or Churches does not necessarily mean that there are no existing Government policies to restrict them--and when it is most convenient for them in a future date--wipe them off if they most opportune to.
The Fulani Terrorist Jihadists up the core North may have their various reasons attacking other Muslim communities (greed being one, as well as being emboldened by the laxity of their kinsman at the helm of affairs to prosecute them etc.,) --BUT just because core-Northern communities may choose to be mute or subdued by these renegade elements does not translate to Christian communities in the Middle Belt adopting the same response or attitudes.
For every attack or invasion by the Fulani Jihadists is seen as a Government sanctioned Jihadist (by their inaction or selective actions) encroachment where they hitherto have no business being. If they wanted to display madness, they should have stuck to their 12 Sharia states and go at it. The present protection they enjoy by the Federal Government may have discouraged severe and bloody counter attacks which is something that is never sustainable because there is so much anyone can take being pushed back on their own ancestral lands.
Do not blame the South for the core North's incompetence in taming the beast they have created in fighting the eras of Christian Presidencies. It is nobody's making but yours. YOU as Muslims should sit down and figure it out yourselves--rather than "export" all kinds of troubles in all types of places to make it seem as if it should be a problem that should be forced on all! If the core North dislikes anything Christian, simply agree to a new Ethnic national Conference where each Ethnic Nationality peacefully decides to choose where they would want to belong. I am sure Christian ethnic nationalities of the Middle Belt would want to cluster and become one (just as in the Benue Plateau years...but only larger to include Taraba etc.,)
All this killing of precious Christian lives just to intimidate and grasp control of oil wealth situated in the South (where most of the Christians are) is simply worthless. Believe in your own self and abilities....create your own El Dorado Islamic State....leave the Middle Belt and South alone.
I still disagree.. Nothing but outright conspiracy thinking. You mention wipe them off like with a wave of a hand they are gone. Nobody will wipe out anybody. It's unfortunate things have deteriorated this bad to have you thinking in this direction. Keep your oil please , it has only benefited politicians and their cronies. It is more of a curse than a gift. And because some crazy minority lunatics want their Islamic fiefdom doesnt mean the general population shares the same view. Everything used to be fine till politicians messed up everything over the years. Some many misconceptions , I am tempted to think it's just unnecessary hate.
The national minimum wage rate is applicable to every worker except part-time workers (working fewer than 40 hours per week); workers paid on commission or piece-rate basis; workers in seasonal employment such as agriculture; workers in merchant shipping or civil aviation; and those working in an establishment employing less than 50 workers.
But taking legal action against offending Employer is another cup of tea.
The Law gives room for shady employers to manipulate the system and exploit loopholes.
To which an idiot in the comments called "ArewaBoi" outlined the reasoning and the criteria the Borno Government went about demolishing these Churches? -- "Just like I anticipated CAN is using this situation to achieve its aim of building churches in predominantly muslims areas without any regards to the law, they feel they are above the law, Borno state thats still battling insurgence has to also deal with another terror organization thats pretending to build a place of worship. Borno state government must be firm in demolishing any church that violated the law by building churches in predominantly muslim areas to avoid further escalation of the situation, if the government left them to building these churches the people will rise against them or some crazy people will start another terror organization in respond to this provocation by CAN, this is how boko haram was started in Borno, I hope the leaders are aware. I mean 99.9% of the churches are build in areas that are 99.9% Muslims, while 100% of the mosques are build in areas that are 100% muslim, there are 0% mosques in predominantly Christian areas, it was said that on sundays Maiduguri is like Nazareth, the whole city is full of loud speakers singing church quire, it is by force to accept Christ?"
Whoa...the nerve of this Arewa lunatic eh?
Is it not the height of complete lunacy equating peaceful Church worshipers to the terrorist group Boko Haram (which Muslims love to clearly sympathize with, but will shadily claim they are "unIslamic" just to score convenient political points at will?). The only reason Borno has any shreds of "peace" at all is because of the kind prayers of people in the Church. On the other hand, a religion birthed in blood and violence has no inkling of what peace means the same way a fish has no inkling of understanding how to survive in a dry dusty desert.
These types of demolitions have also occurred in other core Sharia States from Zamfara to Kaduna all the way to Borno...State governments have sanctioned the strategic destruction of Churches in urban areas....and have gladly encouraged radical Fulani Terrorists to attack countless villages to burn down Churches and commit murder--with the clear knowledge and even encouragement of the security agencies as has been the case from Rukubu in Jos to many other instances in Kaduna, Benue, Taraba and other parts of the Middle Belt. Watch the Youtuve video from the 25th minute mark to better understand this phenomena.
There is both overt and covert collusion with security agencies when nightly raids by mostly Fulani Jihadists on Christians communities is made. Just because similar-looking raids happen in core-Northern areas occur driven by greed--does not make the incessant attacks on Christian Churches any less unique or salient. The attacks on Christian villages have the full blessing of both State and Federal Governments as part of a larger agenda.--hence the reason why the Military and Police are always inert and useless in the heat of the moment.
I get your drift But places like Bauchi, Jigawa, Katsina, Kano, Sokoto and some other Northern states still have many churches and Christians and nobody is harrasing or persecuting them. Because it happens in few states for a reason or two doesn't mean it is happening every where. Some are tribal / communal clashes and the western/southern dominated press are quick to label it as religious persecution. Don't forget this your same Fulani jihadists are terrorising alot of communities in the North West in brutal fashion, they kill and burn down whole villages too. Would you call that religious persecution too, since the attacks are against predominantly major Muslim communities.
Onelove508: They ate thousands and millions of indigenous Christians in the North, u aren't do them a favor by allowing them to build worship centers.
How many Muslims do you have in the south south and South East, is anyone stopping them from building cathedral mosque.
Aren't they mosquey everywhere in the southwest undisturbed?
Stop being sentimental. They way Northern minorities and southerners are free in the North, the same can't be said of Northerners esp in the south east.. A Northerner cant acquire land or freely live in a village in Abia Or Ebonyi.
Prolific007: What's education without exposure, is pantami not educated? How about Gumi?. Education won't change a thing for core northern because hate has already been sowed in their hearts
Same hate is sown in South Easterners. Nothing will change.
JAMO84: Wailing losers are still crying over her rescue by Abike Dabiri.
The girl has moved on to better things in her life.
Don't mind them, anything positive from the North gives them Nightmares. Tribalistic lunatics. But OP is at fault for posting half baked news, I'm sure he did it too incite tribalistic comments from the usual customers.
