Point of correction, JeSoul

. . .That passage you quoted (Matthew 5:32) refers to whatever the woman might have done before getting married. That's why the King James Version uses "fornication" instead of "adultery" which should have been more appropriate if the passage was actually talking about cheating on one's spouse. But it mentions fornication - which is sexual immorality between two unmarried people. Because the Jews valued virginity so much, it was a taboo to marry a woman and find her already deflowered by another man; and in such a case, it was customary to divorce her. But that had to do with their culture, not really a biblical injunction.

To buttress my point, if you look closely at that verse, you'll discover that it says nothing about the man. And if we're to go by your interpretation, it'll mean that only the "cheating" woman could be sent away, which would be unfair. That should make you understand better that it's actually about virginity because loss of virginity seems to be more verifiable in women than in men wink

When you die and go before your creator and you see Zeus, or Allah, or Krishna etc. sitting on his golden throne, He will be pretty pissed off with you for not believing in him.
Zeus exists only in myths and Krisha never claimed to be God wink

Tudor, if you claim there are no "what ifs" in life, why do scientists make hypothesis? And could you explain the origin of life to me with CLEAR evidence?

Krayola2:
"God" didn't always exist. People used to worship plants, mountains, rivers, the skies and stuff like that before the idea of God ever came into being. God evolved into what you know today.
grin grin grin

Interesting view, Krayola wink

First, do you have proofs to back up your claim?

Second, what gave them the consciousness to "worship" anything at all, if they didn't think there was something supernatural about their environment?

Christianity EtcRe: First Fruit Offering Is Brainwashing! Tunde Bakare by gen2genius(m): 3:41pm On Aug 01, 2009
I am a Pentecostal Christian and for the very first time on Nairaland, I'll be making my stance known on the issue of giving to God, or better still, contributing towards the progress of God's work. In whichever way it is done - physically, mentally or financially - God expects us to give VOLUNTARILY. People who lay much emphasis on giving to God and make it seem COMPULSORY are either ignorant Christians who have been blinded and brainwashed to see God as a DESPOT or the greedy ones who want to have the church's coffers filled by ALL MEANS.

2 Corinthians 9:7 says:

Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

Certainly, God expects us to give. But it's not in the sense of a taskmaster but in the natural sense of a father who expects his children to contribute - in any way they can - to the progress of his projects. So, I for one do not give to God as a matter of obligation but as a result of my devotion to him. And this is where the hypocrisy of many Christians manifests. They talk so much about giving but if you ask them why they give, you'd be SHOCKED that they do it, not out of love or devotion but out of compulsion and greed! They give so they can get! Is that TRUE love? What if there was no reward for giving, would they still give? So, where is the "love" they claim to have for God? This is something I find so disturbing and, sometimes, disgusting in modern Christianity. It's time we wake up from this deadly slumber of FALSE WORSHIP! wink
Christianity EtcRe: Attention, Dear Atheists! by gen2genius(op): 2:59pm On Aug 01, 2009
LOL, why did you decide to focus on my illustration, instead of the main point I raised? My point is, if, indeed, God hadn't proven himself to be real, how come majority of people believe that he exists? What makes you think your excuse will be acceptable when there are multitudes of witnesses to prove that God never hid himself from anyone, except those who chose not to see?

Here is what a man like you was inspired to write (I've made my point above, so you may not need to pick me up on this lol wink ):

Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools (Romans 1:18-22)

If this man and BILLIONS of others could see clearly, you think you can sensibly hold God responsible for your self-inflicted "blindness"  huh
Christianity EtcRe: Attention, Dear Atheists! by gen2genius(op): 12:05pm On Aug 01, 2009
banom:
@ poster,

If eventualy God exist,he does not have any justifiable reason to send an atheist to hell, it is God's fault that he can not proove himself to the atheist and not the atheist fault that he couldn't believe in an imposed unprooved God,

Most atheist today are people who have once in their life time seeked God's face so dearly but could not find one.
Sorry, but this is really laughable.  grin

To you, that'll be a plausible explanation, if you eventually discover that God exists; but looking at it closely, does it really sound reasonable? If you claim it's because God can't "prove" himself beyond doubt that you choose to deny his existence, how come the majority believes that he exists? That's enough evidence to convict you. I'm not sure God would have any time for debate with you or defend his actions  because the proof that he actually revealed himself but you chose to ignore the signs would be obvious - the greater multitudes that believed in him.

Let's apply a bit of logic here. If as a class-teacher, you thought you clearly told your students to bring a certain textbook to the class on a particular day and, out of 50 students who were present in the class, 40 complied and 10 denied hearing anything like that. Would you need any other proof that you really did make the announcement when you have 40 witnesses? Would any neutral observer make a sense of what the 10 errant students are saying? wink
Christianity EtcRe: I Need Help Badly, Please (casting Out Demons) by gen2genius(m): 11:15am On Aug 01, 2009
Rescue-me, why do you think you are possessed? Couldn't there be other possibilities?

But if you're so sure of what you are saying, what steps have you taken personally to deal with the situation? For instance, have you fully yielded your life to Christ and parted with everything that has to do with the devil, both in your lifestyle and interests? If you have done so, have you read the following passages of the Scriptures that say every true child of God has authority over Satan and demons?

Luke 10:19: Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Mark 16:17: And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils. . .

And what have you done about them? wink
Christianity EtcAttention, Dear Atheists! by gen2genius(op): 11:00am On Aug 01, 2009
Since you place much value on deep, intellectual reasoning, I'd be amazed, nay, appalled if you've never taken time to ponder on the following possibilities. And if you have, I'd like to know what your conclusion was wink

WHAT IF. . .

What if, in the end, we ("theists"wink discovered that we had been deluded to believe in the existence of God, that there's actually no place of eternal rest and bliss for those who lived for him and a place of eternal regrets for those who despised him. WHAT WOULD WE HAVE LOST?

But what if you discovered that you had actually made the greatest mistake of your life by joining forces with Satan (albeit inadvertently) to rebel against your creator, deny his existence and rebuff every counsel to live for him. WHAT WOULD YOU HAVE GAINED? And how would you undo the terrible harm you would have done to yourselves?

This is not a matter for debate; it's just a food for thought. Let's assume any of the two eventualities could happen, wouldn't it be wiser for you to be on God's side than the other? From all indications, you are taking a far greater and weightier risk than those who believe in God.

Or what do you think? wink

FROM TODAY'S "DAILY INDEPENDENT"

The North is on the boil from the grip of Islamic hardliners on rampage in Bauchi, Maiduguri, Potiskum, and Kano - cities in Bauchi, Borno, Yobe, and Kano States - where over 300 people were reportedly killed on Monday.

FROM TODAY'S "DAILY SUN"

Security forces on Monday fought gun battles with Islamist militants who staged attacks on police stations, prisons, churches and other government buildings in Borno, Yobe and Kano states, leaving no fewer than 100 dead.

With these continuous destruction of lives and properties by muslims, who wouldn't agree that Islam is truly a religion of "peace"? grin

Whether it's "politically-motivated" or not, why does it ALWAYS have to be the NORTH - the area with the highest concentration of muslims - that religious violence must occur? Could it be connected to the number of people muhammed and his followers killed in the name of Jihad or the fact that Islam has always spread by violence? huh angry

BEHOLD THE SHAMEFUL DEATH OF A RANDY PROPHET!!! cry cry

Allah gave muhammed the best death a Hot man can dream of, he died while making love to the one he loved to make love most! grin

PROOF THAT HE DIED DURING AN EXPLOSIVE MOMENT

Ibn Hisham page 682:

….that he heard Aisha say: “The apostle died on my bosom during my turn: [of having sex with]. It was due to my ignorance and extreme youth that the apostle died in my arms

Sahih Bukhari,
Volume 7, Book 62, Number 144:

Narrated ‘Aisha:
He died on the day of my usual turn ( of having sex) at my house. Allah took him unto him while his head was between my chest and my neck and his saliva was mixed with my SALIVA.

Aisha is blaming her youth and ignorance for causing Prophet’s death . Aisha’s eager cooperation excited Prophet immensely which lead to a wild session of pre-intimacy and tongue action followed by intensive sex . Due to her inexperience she could not see the danger of an old man performing sex with a young woman during his serious illness. Timely slowing down or stopping him could have saved his life. Prophet had an explosive climax which his old and sick heart could not handle and went in a cardiac arrest. She saw him die and slump on her bosom during his moment of extreme pleasure. (which is not uncommon in such cases). That is why she felt guilty of causing his death,

HE DID NOT RECITE KALIMA AT DEATH !!!
shocked shocked

The hadiths indicate that instead of having kalima on his mouth like a good muslim during his last moments , prophet’s mouth was busy in tongue action and French kissing.

HARD FACTS

His body must have stiffened as he died during his pleasure moment in an “as is” condition. The fact that they tried to cover him with triple shroud indicates an embarrassing bulge which they must have tried to even out by extra layers of clothing. They wouldn’t have wanted all to know what their prophet was up to when he died.

Dawood, Book 20, Number 3147:

Narrated Abdullah ibn Abbas:

The Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) was shrouded in three garments made in Najran: two garments and one shirt in which he died.

Apparently neither the three clothing layers nor the reported delay in burial helped in the situation and he was buried quietly.

What's making you laugh like a lunatic, Abuzola? Didn't you read what Shariaperv quoted?

shariaman:
Your navel is a rounded goblet that never lacks blended wine. Your waist is a mound of wheat encircled by lilies

1     tn The noun שֹׁרֶר (shorer) is a hapax legomenon, appearing in the OT only here. There is debate whether it means “navel” or “vulva”: (1) Lys and Pope suggest that שֹׁרֶר is related to Arabic srr (“secret place, pudenda, coition, fornication”). They suggest that this is contextually supported by three factors: (a) His descriptive praise of her is in ascending order, beginning with her feet and concluding with her hair. The movement from her thighs (7:1b), to her vulva (7:2a), and then to her waist (7:2b) would fit this. (b) The descriptive comparison to a glass of wine would be grotesque if her navel were in view – her navel was moist or filled with liquid? – but appropriate if her vulva were in view. (c) The navel would be a somewhat synonymous reference to the belly which is already denoted by בִּטְנֵךְ (bitnekh, “belly”) in the following line.
Are you so dimwitted? huh grin

There is relgious crisis everywhere causing by many factors
LIAR! Religious crisis occurs only where there's a higher percentage of muslims. You know the truth; you're just shying away from it. In which other parts of the country does religious violence occur apart from the North?

Where do you think peace we come when there is no justice. The principle behind every violent need to be rooted to the cause, that is when you can judge and not by media caption.
Oh, so your violent actions are sometimes justified? So, your beastly attitude of killing and destroying for flimsy reasons is for peace and "justice" to reign? Anyway, that's what Allah taught you. Isn't that what you call "Jihad"? So why are you denying it? huh

I strike those one out to expose your lies. And if you damm think you have proof, just come on board.
I said it before that you're a pathological liar. Are you claiming that forced marriages don't occur in the North regularly? Are you saying young girls are not married off to old men for pecuniary reasons? Where do they learn it from if not from Muhammed's romance with a 6 year old?

I think you are enslaved with western ideology. You need to wake up man and be objective!
And be objective about what? That Islam brought other benefits to Nigeria apart from senseless killings and maiming and marrying off innocent girls to shameless old men in the name of allah the "beneficent and merciful"? huh

Islam is nothing but forced submission to backwardness and violence!
Christianity EtcRe: Nlders: How Do I Forgive ? by gen2genius(m): 11:52am On Jul 23, 2009
posakosa:
Nothing. I am Human. Every Human has a conscience, whether or not they associate with a particular religion. I will never define myself by any particular religion or religious belief.
Not exactly Posakosa. In fact, that's why I asked if you're a Christian before  going into any "sermon." Truth is, naturally, we're all prone to seeking revenge or wishing something bad happens to someone who has hurt us badly. But being a real Christian makes things different because "if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature; old things are passed away and all things become new." (2 Corinthians 5:17). When we yield ourselves to Christ, he transforms us and gives us the grace (divine strength) to do things we wouldn't be able to do naturally. One of such is living above sin, and another is is FORGIVING those who hurt us without retaliating or wishing them evil. That's why you see that neither Christ nor any of his followers supported revenge. If you don't mind, I'll show you some proofs:

JESUS SPEAKING:

Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. (Matthew 5:45-45)

PETER SPEAKING:

For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully. For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God. For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously (1 Peter 2:19-23)

PAUL SPEAKING:

Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good. (Romans 12:19-21)

Christianity does not teach retaliation or violence. That's one of the things that makes a real Christian different from any other person. He has the mind and nature of Christ in him, therefore he finds it easy to do what an ordinary person thinks is impossible. "I can do ALL THINGS through Christ who gives me strength" (Philiippians 4:13).
