Romance › Re: My Girl Thinks I Should Give Her Stipends From My Monthly Salary by Genea(f): 6:02pm On Dec 30, 2018 |
limbolimbo: I recently showed interest in a neighbour of mine, I know she likes me, but she is a very traditional person, she wants us to go through the full cycle before anything further. But something started giving me a reason to worry about here mindset towards relationships.
She celebrated her birthday last month, and I got her a very expensive wrist watch, it cost me 94k, she doesn't know this. I also got her a really nice cake, cost me 10k, so in all I spent over a hundred thousand on her birthday. I know for some this may not seem like much or may seem like too much, I think what really matters is tat I was fine with it and could afford it. Within the same period, she would indirectly ask me for funds, she said she was broke, I could have helped her with this but I felt it was way above my position, as I am only a "To Be Boyfriend", to offer her all this after spending a 100k on gifts for her birthday.
A week ago we had a very interesting discussion, about the role of the man and the woman in a relationship, she said that "A man should be responsible for the upkeep of his Girlfriend, he should save a portion from his salary monthly which he should give to his girlfriend for upkeep". I thought that was nonsense and I quickly called her out on it, all I can say now is that I don't think we would be dating anymore, because she took it very personally, she said she thinks she would suffer if she goes into a relationship with me, because I am already showing signs of being stingy.
If I keep writing I would not end, so my question here is, is she right? Should I have instead given her the cash rather than the gift? Because to me it now seems she doesn't see the value of the gift and would rather have cash. I want adult opinions please.
(Please note that I am not trying to paint this lady as an evil person, she is really sweet, loving, caring, she loves getting attention and doesn't have any problem in showing me how she really feels about me, overall she is a great lady.) you alone know if she is worth you giving her a portion of your salary. If she is someone you would like to wife and you know she isn't one of these girls with entitlement ish, then there is no harm in giving her a little out of your salary, it just shows you care. It doesn't have to be much 20k per month is still cool. Of she isn't worth it, Just leave her alone. |

Family › Re: Should I Continue Giving Money To My Friend's Wife? by Genea(f): 8:07am On Dec 08, 2018 |
alimaa: I have a very close friend who has been like a brother to me right from our days in the university, we also worship in the same church, he was my best man when I wedded a few years ago. He got married this year and after the wedding things were not rosy for them the following month and I gave my little assistance as a friend. Around July this year his sister had a life threatening ailment and when he reached out to me I quickly responded with something meaningful. After some weeks his wife told me she was sick when we met in church, I quickly went to an ATM, made withdrawal and gave her money to buy drugs since her husband who happens to be my friend was not in town.
The irony of the whole thing now is that my friend's wife now thinks that I am Father Christmas and now calls and sends texts requesting for money to take care of her antenatal drugs but I have refused to help because I believe it is wrong and she keeps pestering me.
Please what is your advice? Please don't stop giving her, Just tell the husband before you do. They might really need the money or she might be scamming you. Either way, let the husband know first. |

donsiqua: I Need Serious Advice On The Path To Tow
I am currently confused right now on what to do. I need advice.
I got this job that pays 200k+ a month plus a decent accommodation. Iam very good at my job and I have been planning on opening my own. As a matter of fact I have planned to start buying the equipments needed for the company by October. Although if everything goes as planned the company would begin operation by middle of next year. I also have the intention of combining my job and running the company(it's no big deal). However I ran into this sure link of getting a very high paid job abroad. The link is legit and very sure, all I have to do is accept and I will leave ASAP but my problem here is that my parents wokldolet me step out of the country cause I'm their only son. I needed the abroad job as it would boost my income and enable me achieve what I had planned. If I should follow my initial plan the company would run on a small scale. However, with the fund from the away job I could get enough money to go into full business.
Iam thinking of defying them and go ahead with the abroad plan. But one mind is telling me to hold onto my initial plan.
Please what do I do?
Ps I have already been offered the job abroad all I have to do is to accept it. And I don't have much time left.
I need sincere inputs Negative comments are welcomed too why not go abroad, settle down then take your family there? Seriously Nigeria ain't good for anyone |

Travel › Re: Why Hurricanes Have Human Names by Genea(f): 12:24pm On Sep 14, 2018 |
The government was (is...) run by old white men and has been for a long time. When the National Weather Service came into being, it was run by these same people. Such old men have many old-fashioned notions about women, i.e., that they are tempestuous, unpredictable, and wild if unable to be kept in check. Given this, it made sense to them to name hurricanes after women rather than men, who do not undergo a monthly hormonal cycle.

mapet: I would rather commend because of two things
1. It's a well-thought out idea to maximize advantages of our water-ways to push trade into the interlands. Even if Obaseki cannot finish it, the next governor will (should) continue. At the end, the economy of Edo State will receive a tremendous boost 2. When states are able to attract foreign Capital, it can only drive our economy northwards. well let them start first |

My set that did the final interview since July haven't heard anything from the bank since. It really makes no sense for them to be quiet like that. I didn't hear from them after the Panel interview in July, I have moved on and bless the name of God, I have something better. So you guys should just keep this as back up plan and apply for other job offers, you might even get a better one before Providus tries to call you. |
