Buhari is such a fraudulent character. Why didn't he remove the subsidy in his 8 years? He knew either Atiku or Tinubu would win and those are the men with the balls to remove the subsidy. Though I have my misgivings about total removal, I know it's just a matter of time.
They should remove it to subsidise other things because Benin, Niger, Cameroon are benefiting substantially from it. We can subsidise other important things even Diesel.

Very wrong and misleading information. Let's go back to basics there are about 150 million bank account in Nigeria. But only 53 million people have account. You have a situation that for everyone blessing has up to three or four bank accounts. The amount of people which have bank account to the size of population is about 1/4 or 25%. You do not need to be a rocket scientist to know that for every name of a person has up to three account. But when you look at the bvn registration you find out there are only 53 million people. Most people in the country have 3 account.
suffernsmiling what happened to you this year man? You now write the Queen's English.

Buhari also promised it but dump the idea when he couldn't generate excess income to fund it
Tinubu promised it in campaign on behalf of Buhari. It's something APC planned to do but Nigeria was already headed for a recession in 2015 and oil prices then continued to plummet. It was then forgotten completely after that.

Reading this - he seems to have good handle of the issues
https://www.vanguardngr.com/2023/01/tinubu-presents-economic-plans-to-stakeholders-at-nesg-presidential-dialogue/

“It is based on this idea that I believe we must remove the PMS subsidy immediately. It has outlived its shelf life as a public good. We will neither subsidize neighbouring countries’ fuel consumption nor allow a select few to reap windfall profits and hoard products.

“And the subsidy money will not be ‘saved’ because that means elimination from the economy. Instead, we will redirect the funds into public infrastructure, transportation, affordable housing, education, and health, and strengthen the social safety net for the poorest of the poor, thus averting increased security challenges.
Buhari already set June for complete subsidy elimination. All 3 frontrunners had promised to remove subsidy.

This angle too

7 million children are born in Nigeria every year... This means that Nigeria has 119 million people below the the age of 18 at least.
These figures are somehow but we shall see.

One of the many reasons why I have always doubted Nigeria being even above 200 million. All you just need to do is look at every country surrounding is, with the same climate, almost similar birth rate, food and even religion.
To me max, Nigeria is about 160 million. Sha, let's wait for this year census
I agree with you and I've always said this. Adult population (above 18) is likely 100 million. Children are 70 million at most.

In his acceptance speech.

He said he is going to grant Autonomy to Universities.

But that will increase the price of Tertiary Education.
Is this good or bad? Core socialists like Sowore would not like this idea. Tinubu however likes to optimize in these situations by providing incentives, so he would probably provide loans to the best performing students.

That reminds me. What exactly is the strategy of Sowore? because even Boot Party got more votes than Sowore.

What is his plan? manifesto? regarding electricity, naira forex controls, education, insecurity, fuiel subsidy, import substitution? Any change from Buhari or continuation?
These are the questions you didn't bother to ask during the campaign because social media was focussed on just Obi.
Even Atiku had plans too.

Dunno how true this is, but if true then the opposition have no court case to make if none of them could even make 25% in 24 states.

More reactions from overjoyed APC members.

THIS IS SURELY THE FINGER OF GOD AND THE MAKING OF THIS VICTORY IS PURELY THE LORD'S DOING ...If in doubt look at the statistics*

1. He lost his State, so he won't brag that I won because of Lagos.

2. He lost Kano so Abdullahi Umar Granduje won't brag that I made you president.

3. He lost Kaduna so Nasiru El Rufai won't think he won because of his radical stand.

4. He lost Katsina so President Muhammadu Buhari wont think he won because he anointed him.

5. He lost Sokoto the seat of the caliphate so they won't call him the Northern candidate or the Khalifa.

6. He lost Osun where some say he really came.from

7. He lost Plateau the state of the campaign DG.

8. He lost Nasarawa the State of his party Chairman so it won't give Abdullahi Adamu any bragging rights.

YET HE WON THE OVERALL SIMPLE MAJORITY VOTES AND MADE THE CONSTITUTIONALLY REQUIRED 25% IN MORE THAN 25 STATES OF THE FEDERATION ..

This is the story of the Jagaban of Borgu.

*ThIS IS SURELY THE FINGER OF GOD.

Asiwaju Jagaban Tinubu

06 / 07 formed his political Action Congress, used Lagos as his launch pad.

2011 - rebranded to Action Congress of Nigeria, won 6 states as a solid regional party.

2015 - galvanized a merger to go mainstream and sat back to remove PDP

2023 - GCFR

The audacity of the dick to ton insult Nigerians because he/she is claiming Yoruba is just annoying.

Who does he think he is?

Can you imagine? He was even calling for the disintegration of Nigeria. TF?
Just because we are arguing Tinubu/Obi/Atiku doesn't mean we are divided. We saw Obi winning states in the North and Atiku winning in the West. The East voted their son massively this time because he was in a fringe party and they were betrayed by the PDP. After investing much in the PDP, the PDP was still going to pick a Northern candidate at a critical time neglecting the East.

I do not blame the South East for voting massively for Obi because in the past they supported strongly whoever the PDP presented from other regions.

Yes, any cry of rigging rings hollow, as the gap is too wide. The election despite the glaring mess still largely reflects the general will of the people. People want more of the same. APC will continue to wreck havoc. I pity Nigeria.
What the opposition did was they dominated their region and strongholds. What the APC simply did in response was to ensure they had sufficient numbers across 5 out of 6 regions in the country.
Spread was the difference between APC/PDP and LP/NNPP

Next time Obi & Kwakwanoso guy should merge. This one is over. Old Tinubu continues the economic destruction started by Buhari. Another 5yrs of despair.
It surprises me till date that Obi and Kwankwanso followers never got this logic until now. How do you go against a strong incumbent with several millions of registered party members spread across the country and you go divided?

Few days before the election, I thought the Obidients were the most deluded in thinking they could win but I was even more shocked listening to Kwankwanso followers on Twitter spaces who were also sure they would win. Delusion at its peak.

So, it does look like none of the parties in the Presidential Election will win in more than 13 States...

Looks like it will end up as 12/12/12/1 or 13/12/11/1

For the 25% constitutional threshold:

APC - Already sure
PDP - Let's be looking
LP - Impossible

Obi looks like he's going to win more states than his opponents, but Tinubu is helped by the fact that in most states that he didn't win, he wasn't very far off. Ultimately, that helped him in the impending win of the plurality of votes.
