Food › Re: Rising Cost Of Food: How It Has Changed My Eating Habit by GeneralKoko(m): 3:16pm On Sep 17, 2021 |
Premiumwriter2: Hello Nlders
Its no longer news that things are mightily expensive in the market especially food stuffs.
It is even harder for me and i believe a lot of other students included.
this has led me to changing my eating habit and surprisingly i seem to love it now more than ever before. dont get me wrong. ..i still detest the rising cost of living.
the part i love is that i now eat healthier now than before.
before now, bread and coke was a major part of my daily meal. sometimes i eat that for lunch and then dinner.
most times, i'd spent #150 on bread and #150 on coke making it #300.
or i'd eat outside. most times i buy fufu of #100 and then meat of #50 and i'll be okay. its benue state so the food was quite okay.
coming to the present, bread of #150 can no longer satisfy me as it is now so small. Nowadays, i'll need around #300 just for bread.
it seems like the sellers these days dont even know how much to sell the bread again. ..sometimes its #250 sometimes its #350.
and fufu nowadays cost #200 (300 if you really want to be satisfied) and meat is 100.
one day i sat down and thought it would be much more cost effective if i start cooking more and buying less.
well it turns out to be so. nowadays i spend only about 1k-1.3k per week on feeding. i use the money to prepare both soup and stew for the week. since i already have rice and garri i do not factor those in.
my market list often goes like this:
stew:
tomato #500 pepper #100 onion #100 or #50 meat #200 or #250 (those mallam recognize us as student...they call it student meat) crayfish #50
and for soup:
ogbono #150 kpomo #200 crayfish #100 leaf #100
I buy palm oil and groundnut oil with maggi in bulk. so its once in a way.
i'm not the best cook but i found out i recently love cooking and have experimenting. I'm always watching youtube cook videos even when i'm cooking.
my friends dey laff me sometimes sha but me no send o. btw, nowadays i de cook stew die! still perfecting my soup skills sha. 1.5k in a week I'm not surprised! You live in "The food basket of the nation" Spits! |

SmartPolician: You people should stop quoting an entire thread before making a comment. Just mention the person's moniker and the site will tag them. Besides, it's customs not custom; there's a difference.
@Naija8240 I am waiting for the day Wike will take up that last part of the point you raised. How can a country of 200m depend on the port in Lagos whereas there are ports in Onne, Calabar and Warri? It seems the South South governors left their fights to Wike alone. Amaechi is building the Bonny Port . It will be commissioned next year! |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Taliban Leaders Brawled At Presidential Palace by GeneralKoko(m): 2:05am On Sep 16, 2021 |
TalkTalkTwins: I was watching the CNN interview with an American senator yesterday. Honestly, people blaming Biden for this whole issues are obviously reading the papers upside down.
Trump reportedly signed a memo planning to do the same thing by January, next year. According to the gist, even the toppest security officials didn't know.
Now, Biden did it, and it's as if he'll be eaten raw. Was the US going to let a war last 10 years? This is their longest war, and they did more than enough. Imagine they had stayed for fifty years, gone home and democracy overthrown in two weeks. I think the government was just weak, and that's why all these is happening. You're deluded . Trump had the plan to get the US soldiers out and trust he would have done it like a boss and wouldn't let the Taliban dictate so much . Biden carried out the withdrawal like a weakling. So much that the Taliban even bombed American Navy seals . You know if they'd tried this rubbish in Trump's time they would be toast . |

Arizoner: https://dailypost.ng/2021/09/13/wike-orders-demolition-of-shanties/ If you recide in Rivers State you'd know this is a big lie. The governor wants to buy that land . The people initially refused to leave but he's found a good excuse to evacuate them. He's buying lands all over in PH Check close to the Ikoku flyover you'd see a fenced land he acquired. He also has estates close to okoro body and another one by chinda . This man is a thief! |

chrisxxx: Everyone in Rivers State wants road to lead from his place to Obio Akpor and Port Harcourt. No doubt about this. Wike believes this as well. It is either you count down or count up. Wike is counting down. That means tarring from Urban to meet rural communities. When you become governor you can start from rural to urban. In my opinion, Woke is the worse and most clueless Governor in Nigeria. So much money and revenue but he's so visionless . He carries out mediocre projects then goes ahead to call all the media houses in Nigeria to sing praises . |

DissTroyer: It depends on what you are proposing but it has to be for the people and youth-driven. I'm not going to compromise on the youth-driven and human capital development part. Anything without that agenda would be me teaming up with the very things and iideas I have been criticising on this thread especially.
Do send me a mail. Sir I created the thread . I am an upcoming Politician in Rivers State. I'd love you t drop some word of advice on how to navigate the Nigeria Political terrain in order to be successful. |

freshbear: Betrayal. Got a job to head an organization back in 2017.Chairman said he needs an accountant current one was milking him out.Got this friend whose wife was an accountant but jobless.Told him abt the job(he was also without job).Thru my influence his wife got d job but turned around to gang up against me.I was bitter.i resigned and left.last year, chairman called me and pleaded that I should comeback because things were going under.Folks, she was the only one that kicked against my return.chairman told my this in confidence after I politely turn down the offer that I am in a better place.(federal staff). The betrayal affected my close friendship with my guy.Buddies before we got married.I completely blocked them from my life. What shocked me was the fact that he went with his wife to chairman's house to lobby against my return. Two jobless peeps I was trying to help.Woman that came last in the aptitude test but I use my influence to get her the job primarily because of their job situation. After almost four years of not seeing yesterday he showed up in my house trying to form friendship.I have long moved on.made him understand that yesterday. Not sure he will wanna pay me a visit again. Damn!!!! Such is life |

Draggun: I learned never to trust anyone no matter what. A very close friend of mine and I did a job and got paid a huge amount of money, approximately $5k. He was sent the money because he had the means to but he denied ever receiving the money despite the evidence glaring at us. I just let it slide because I knew something better was coming and it came, since then my eyes and brain sharp pass anything. Some weeks later, she confessed she was only jealous and apologized
