ehissi: Hmmmmmmm.......from the look of things it appears D DSSC/SSC lists have already been compiled and R awaiting order for publishing. At this stage its a matter of just hoping U R on D list except COAS is your personal personally Godfather............else O.Y.O.
even if u re not on the list, ur name can still come out later and find urself in kaduna or makurdi as the case may be because God might ve connected u after then. A friend of mine was not invited for the 20 pple that was shortlisted after exams in the navy, which means he did not run, do any medical that is scaring pple . After the exercise he got to know the CNS and his name came out in ekiti state as the 2nd person that was shortlisted i.e only 2 guys made it. The bottom line is that keep praying as anything can happen and it is not over until God makes a way.

Sam0: it is well my pple,if it is the will of God that we would join the military ntn can stop it, but if is nt the will of God we would nt be choosen.remember victory is from God Alone.
once u ve the interest at heart and not that u re looking for any job, then it must ve been God that put the interest there but we must prayerful seek it. May God help us and continue to bless Nigeria

Glamourplus: “Most people want jobs, if that job means
joining the Army, fine; it’s a source of
employment, but when the reality of
military service comes, he drops his rifle
and runs away.” Gen Minimah
why won't they run away when they re fighting against better armed opponents. Why won't they run when there re enemies within which General Kenneth knows about. Can he himself with the situation of things in the north east deploy his ward or son there to go and fight? .......by 2015 we Ll know where we re going in this country whether a coup ll take place, breakage, fragmentation or peace. Time ll tell very soon.

An Mi-35 helicopter belonging to the nigerian airforce has crashed in south of bama today. The director od defence info in person of General olukolade said the heli was on a training mission when it crashed. What is actually wrong with his common sense? Does he think nigerians are fools? How can an heli be conducting training missions in a volatile area? Not even a reconnaissance operation but training. The General must be a fool or something is wrong somewhere.

ehissi: I am not quite sure what U mean by "bottom power" but I do know that for social courtesy calls or say PAF (presidential air fleet) cabin crew which is managed by D airforce or officers & NCO mess events or general social activities in D armed forces or ADC's and PA's to commanders; the NAF specifically (& D armed forces generally) would sometimes preferably love to choose ladies who R on D fair side or who look naturally attractive (not for immoral purposes really but) for the purpose of serving as tea girls/stewardesses/ADC's or PA's to senior officers (male & female) at certain events and that can give U some sort of edge as a lady in a recruitment circle if U're not looking too bad (I say this with strong reference to NCO recruitment though from time to time it happens in officers cadre sometimes); trust me they like fine girls well well or better still girls in D Miss or Mrs endowed category.....

The army will put U were they want as an SSC applicant else they will have asked U to make your choice like D DSSC's did. Its left for U to know what U want to pursue as a career as an SSC officer & strategically position yourself (in terms of lobbying & other postgraduate courses U can take either at D NDA or other armed forces institution which R too many to mention) to pursue it.

I don't know much about D aviation corp of D army & I am not willing to speculate about it as far as SSC & to a certain degree DSSC, U go where U R posted/assigned to & no place else except U dilligently seek it with strong reference to D standard or D general idea(depending on what's going on around U dia).............
thanks sir. With due respect sir may i ask for the meaning of general and standard. Thanks for ur anticipated reply
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Nigerian Army DSSC and SSC 2014 Aspirants by Generaloluseye: 5:44pm On Jul 18, 2014
ehissi: Hmmmmmmmmmm.........

There was a thread on NL spun for an issue,
It had so many followers who didn't know what to do,
So they calculated, speculated & raised so many clues,
Till each one was sure that what they speculated as facts was true........

Moral of the rhyme? In the armed forces there's a saying; "assumption is a sin". I mean this thread has grown from hard facts to ball out assumptions. I won't be surprised if most of D officers handling the selection board (both regional & final) have even been released by their units; at a time when who is & isn't a member of the final board is a mystery in D Nigerian army, Nairalanders already knew when D first shortlist will come out. Na wa ooooooh!! See parade!!!! (that can only happen in a country like Nigeria).......lol

Senators slot? Please!!!!! Most lawmen I know don't know D meaning of slot; (slot as in where U buy original phones? Where is D slot?). Especially now at a time when Lit Gen. Minimah is trying to prove his worth as a COAS, is it d same he that will be issuing automatic slot? Definitely there will be those who will approach him with list of candidates for "special" consideration, that don't mean they have a slot. Since his appointment, morale, welfare has been on top; and his brutal frankness has paved D way for upgrades to D armoury of D army (one of D biggest issues that most people dont realise is a major constraint & that it can keep morale in D clouds for a long time)

Even veteran applicants admit that a few of the requirements have changed; so what makes U think D methods of selection won't?

Did anyone at least think that the Army is an agency of government & that D government is given to respect holidays', religious observances (like D Muslim fast going on right now) and that they know that it ain't wise putting Muslim officers or candidates who will be fasting at a disadvantage in a recruitment exercise?

D former COAS put D army through a whole lot of issues like ethnic bias, zero welfarism, low morale issues. The last thing they need is religious bias in recruitment in the face of D boko haram crisis & I can assure U d army will not be known for being religiously bias for any reason, mark my words........

As for D person who gave a testimony of how she entered D NAF (which is kinda like my turf); all of U forgot one major factor (and I thought there were veteran applicants who knew better). It's a lady's testimony; show me a picture of D lady & I will tell U exactly why see made it (not doubting God's power nor D fact Dat God is a factor in things like this). Any lady who is fairly gallant, good looking, and is "endowed" or preferably is a dependent of a personnel of D NAF or has a Godfather has D best chance of being in D airforce with ease so I am not surprised she got in. Its even more pronounced in NCO recruitment . U don't believe me,take a trip to any NAF base & examine D corporal below cadre or fresh set of female flying officers, its very Instructive.............
officer ehisi. Are u saying bottom power could play a role as in the case of women? Pls i ve a ? For u. I applied for ssc and i would like to join the aviation corps cos i learnt they sent some 40 guys for helicopter training. What is d criteria for putting pple into diff unit. Is it by choice or ll they make it for us. And also is the aviation corps fully functional. Thanks

odeebee: Bros i hail oo. na speculation corps u apply for?
yes the guy applied for speculation corps. In line with global best practices to ensure that security of nigerians re guaranteed. They introduced the corp. His job is to speculate when boko ll strike, when it ll be over........

obiksam: Please oh any newssssss. 16th don pass ooh
and u believe that. Take a look at last year own. Nysc batch C passed out on the 10th October and the army released it on the 11th. Someone on this thread actually boasted that the list ll not be released until he gets his discharge certificate and when it happened, and my attention was drawn to it, i was baffled. The bottom line is that only God and them knows when.

I learnt the nigerian army has a new unit called the aviation unit and forty helicopter pilots were sent for training. How come they are not flying. If i join as an ssc officer, ll i be able to join the aviation unit. Thanks

gambudu: Am sure 99.9% of pple here will put NA as their last option. NAF & NN enjoy better benefits than NA. Even NA officers will tell you that "it's dulness to be in the army"........they say dis all d time.NDA language
corruption is very high in the 3arms of service with one not better than the other. The adv of navy and airforce is that they ve lesser population and after all the money has been cut by the ogas at the top, the remaining is still enough to go round for what the small boys officers ll be calling enjoyment. According to the central bank of Nigeria, a private is expected to be collecting 100k as basic. But what is on ground?
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Nigerian Army DSSC and SSC 2014 Aspirants by Generaloluseye: 6:55pm On Jul 15, 2014
gambudu: words of wisdom from the portable fg offr of NAF thread 2013.Therefore,are u d type who as one oga@d top hiding somewhere and u come up here to tell us you depend on God to be shortlisted.Be not deceived.God does not need to use any man to help u.Bitter truth
let me begin by saying there is nothing difficult for God to do. He said in the book of books that ask anything in my name and...........now to the airforce issue. I believe God can make you to enter without knowing anybody because he is awesome and their is no limitation to his power. Or what do u all think about this, it is possible for God to make the the recruitment officers make an error and put his name there. This is one of the ways God can do it and also by linking someone up. But anyone that ll enjoy this must be Gods favourite or someone enjoying Gods mercy. The reality that happened when i went for airforce exam in 2012 is this, the officers told us that anyone with a letter from the powers that be should come out. I did not have any letter so i make up my mind to score at least 85 in the exam. But after the exam, i discovered that some guys ve seen the question paper before the exam which ll make them to score 100 and yet were not picked. The question now is how can one get in on merit?

Some oga at the top are very powerful that their wards name cannot be removed except in extremely exceptional circumstances. My friend was not shortlisted for the initial 20 that went for the navy screening but he later got in contact with the CNS(former) and when the final list came out, he was among the final two that was picked despite the fact that he did not do medicals, running etc. Out of the 6 shortlisted for dssc in my state, 2 belong to the senator i was initially talking about in my previous post. Pray to God to connect you.

it does not call for insult. It was my own opinion that i made public based on what i saw. If the list of the senator has been sent so quickly, then it could mean next month or even very much later.

poundsmaker: Most candidates of this year recruitment applied thru ssc platform because of no option available for them on dssc enlisted vacancy NOT BOLDNESS,COMMAND,BRAVE OR MIGHT that most of them claimed. If otherwise, why would most of them applied thru dssc platform last year? My point is most dssc candidates are born killers, don't underestimate them. I personally just want to have a flair practice of my profession (which most candidates would also want to but caught with no option) before combating (if I'm given the opportunity). BESIDES, IT HAS WHAT IT TAKES TO BE A REAL COMBATANT SOLDIER, DO YOU HAVE IT? THAT'S THE QUESTION YOU SSC SHOULD ASK YOURSELF. Read stories of late. Gen muritala, Gen obasanjo (rtd), late Gen Kareem Adisa, late Gen diya, late Gen idiagbon, Brigadier Gen Barsharu etc all these people fought the civil war, survived it and make history in the Nigerian Army. I'm not against anyone just spitting facts.

xcitedjay: it shows u ve passion for this job by your reply.one should be prepared for the hazards of this profession.the problem we ve is that some if not many re in it because they re opportuned to ve oga at the top and not because of interest. and when job situations come along, they are the 1st victims. I am very sure there are some guys who are fed up with army job.

Then your passion for the job is nothing more than the benefits accrued to the military. You need to realise that the military was made for things like this, think about your mother and helpless siblings or even relations and ask yourself what if this people you cared about were attacked. That should give you the passion to go out there and put in your very best to win the battle against these insurgents.

"If you stand for nothing, you'd fall for anything".

The problem in the military today has been caused by people like you who find themselves in the military, doing what they didn't sign up for, you need to realise that the battles you are suppose to be fighting is not against helpless civilians. If you realise the true aim of the military, you would not be bothered about whether a civilian slaps you or steps on your toes. The pride and prestige of wearing the uniform and its ranks is not by beating up people on the street but by using your God given talent, strength and intelligent to make Nigeria safe for the future generation. Even God would want to be on your side when he see the passion in your heart.
