dragunov:lies and propaganda for wetin dey happen right in our eyes? ![]() Anyway how that one take concern me sef, your people are the ones running away from their community, not mine. Your people are on the streets of Kwara protesting about the fact that they have lost their villages to bandits, go and tell them that they're spreading propaganda ![]() |
chukwutee:Your kings are fleeing their palaces and communities like rat and all you're bothered about is Peter Obi who holds no single political office in Nigeria. You can't even engage more than one braincells to demand your governor and president to sit up and do better. Unu bụ ndị eriri eri ![]() |
Precious201010:Osheey!! Superman!! No sha enter News like the guy in this news o. |
helinues:I asked you for 20 countries and you're providing only one, and even at that you're totally wrong here, funny enough I was in Kenya early this year as I was part of a humanitarian org providing aids to Sudan and Congo. So I can comfortably tell you that your exchange rate and local prices are outdated. The actual exchange rate is currently around 1 KES = 10.4 NGN so 100 KES is closer to ₦1040. Yes you can find a plate of Ugali/Sukuma wiki at those prices but you're confusing a few things. Even if the exchange rate math were to correct, you are confusing currency denomination with real purchasing power. A minimum wage earner in Nairobi takes home roughly ₦170,000 (after conversion), which is more than double Nigeria's ₦70,000 minimum wage. You can buy fewer beers in Kenya, but you earn far more to buy them. You cannot compare purchasing power without looking at income. When comparing the naira and the Kenyan shilling, you are focusing on the wrong metric. While the naira might have a lower face value against the dollar, the Kenyan shilling has significantly stronger real purchasing power. While you're roughly correct that 1 KES converts to about N10.4 (Because the naira is heavily devalued) a Kenyan salary seems massive when converted to naira. It means a lot of naira are needed to buy the same shilling . The quality of a currency isn't just what it buys, but what you earn to spend it. This is where the shilling dominates. Even when you look at Cost of Living, Despite lower fuel prices here in Nigeria, it is still significantly more expensive to live in Nigeria. Lagos is actually 27% more expensive to live in than Nairobi . And in practical purchasing power (What money actually buys) here is how it is in Kenya; Meal: Beans & Ugali ~ KSh 150 - 200 Transport: Local bus ~ KSh 50 - 100 Rent (1-bed apt): ~ KSh 15,000 - 30,000 While in Nigeria: Meal: Rice & Beans ~ ₦1,500 - 2,500 Transport: Danfo bus ~ ₦500 - 1,000 Rent (1-bed apt): ~ ₦120,000 - 250,000 So a Kenyan earning the minimum wage (approx. N170,000 equivalent) can more easily absorb the cost of a N1,500 meal than a Nigerian earning N70,000 can . You should be looking at the standard of living. By every economic measure—minimum wage value, GDP per capita, and the cost to rent an apartment—the Kenyan Shilling provides a higher quality of life and stronger purchasing power than the Naira right now . Now that we're done with Kenya can you please mention the remaining 19 countries with weaker purchasing power compared to our Naira? |
Precious201010: This one still wan catch elephant. Na elephant go catch you, no be you go catch am🤣. But if you see am just keep your distance o. |
helinues:That comparison was done with 1 dollar, not with $10 or even with $100. You will struggle to purchase some of those items with ₦1,000, there's no canned food within a ₦1,000 but I can get one with $1, carry 1k enter burger king for Naija and see if you can purchase anything from there but I can buy a cheeseburger for $1 dollar at MacDonald and burger king in US. And yet you say that ₦1,000 has more purchasing power than USD and Pounds? You only even need to use the minimum wage to realise that you don't know what you're talking about. He dey question whether I've been to Nigeria before. Me wey them born for here? E sure me say I've been to more states in Nigeria than you ever will. |
helinues:Lol.. look at this one . Abeg oya since you said our naira have more purchasing power than majority of the countries, kindly mention at least 20 countries in Africa with a weaker purchasing power than Naira.. let me even know where you've been to. |
PigTormentor:Lol... So that's your alternative moniker? thank you for letting me know by ratting yourself out. You claim to have travelled out of Nigeria (and to America of all places) yet you're here peddling lies about the purchasing power of a dollar compared to ₦1,000? Make una leave lies make lies leave una |
dominique:1 dollar has more purchasing power than ₦1,000 . It is 70 cents that ₦1,000 is dragging with so please park well. I can comfortably buy canned food or fruits with 1 dollar, our cheapest canned food in Nigeria is sardines and those are between ₦1,100 to ₦1,600. The cheapest toothpaste you can buy in Nigeria is ₦100 and those are the sachets, I can buy a medium sized Colgate toothpaste with just $1, I can go to burger king with just a dollar and purchase some food items, you will struggle to see any food item within ₦1,000 in burger king NG. |
helinues:All these APC local champions that have never left the shores of Nigeria I don't need to Google, I have travelled a lot and your Naira holds little value even within West Africa talk more of the whole Africa. |
HacheNoire:Tah! Stop talking what you don't know! No doubt you have never left the shores of Nigeria, All you people do is praise bad governance and backwards economic reforms all because you're paid to do so. In the US you can get more with a dollar than you can with ₦5,000 . You can purchase toothpaste, notebooks, pens, candy, ramen, canned food, small tools, and greetings cards. basic toiletries, stationery, and some fruits or cheeseburger, or some items at burger king. |
Precious201010:You really don't know anything about elephant sha. One single bull elephant can wreck a community. They're very strong ( can jack up a car) 3 times faster than an average adult and very smart and agile, very fearless when they're pissed. |
Precious201010:Don't ask me o, ask the government that have refused to protect the people, but you kpai one elephant it's ₦12 million fee and about 10 years jail time |
McLizbae:Are you by chance suggesting that even elephants have joined banditry? ![]() |
Precious201010:lol... If it miss road enter your area you're the one in danger not the elephant. Unless there are people with guns and very experienced in killing an elephant dead body go surplus for your area. Animal wey dey bench press car naim you wan go fight? Dey play |
ashawopikin:if you look threatening they will attack, if there are new calves around they will attack, if you encroach their territory they will attack, if it's during mating season the bulls will attack very aggressively. |
muyico:Asian elephants Also kill people. The thing is that Thailand and Philippines and I think Indonesia really love elephants and have a huge number of domesticated elephants. So must elephants you see there are usually domesticated, if breeze carry you go jam the ones in the wild your body go tell you. |
Lordhanzo:Thats if they even survive the encounter. |
Patriotic9ja:Them plenty o |
theophorus:What are you going to use and kill the elephant? Even if you manage to do so , you will be arrested and jailed. This is one of the very few animals that the authorities don't joke with. |
HelipsTech:Lmao.... An elephant is faster than an average human o. You can not out run an elephant unless you're a Pro sprinter. |
Eraddray:someone probably encroached into their territory or it's the mating season and Bull elephants are usually aggressive during that time. |
Precious201010:lol... This one thinks he can kill an elephant one on one. Besides, those animals are under protection, you kill them na jail for you. |
Hussein035:When has that region ever been peaceful? |
God1000:lol .. this one thinks prostrate cancer is a terminal disease. go school una no go gree |
Lamasta:You're asking me whether Wike is in APC after everything thing he's been doing on behalf of APC government even going as far as openly playing anti party politics and pledging to support the APC in the upcoming general elections? |
ukfootwear:Wike is not from Cross River State. ![]() |
Watcharena:I disagree, the problem is not democracy but how we're running it in this Country. Other third world countries are running the same system at a far cheaper cost, ours is just extremely over bloated |

I asked you a question not for you to tell me what his political opponents thought about him. |
Lamasta:You can't seriously be asking me this question. |
eldoradoxx:They passed that Bill thinking that they will get automatic return tickets, they fuulishily stood on a mandate that didn't stand with them. Never have we had such intellectually deficient bunch at the helm of governance in the history of Nigeria. Well, Tinubu knows that he needs the governors more than he needs these rubber-stamp, mandate singing cheerleaders masquerading as lawmakers. |
Ofunaofu:I think what he meant is that Tinubu will allow Wike to make the choice in Rivers state |
