Pootle:What?! It wasn't to this level during buhari's tenure? You people really think we all have goldfish memories like the rest of you. It was during Buhari's tenure that Agatu was attacked repeatedly, I know someone whose brother died in one of those attacks, there were attacks in Benue almost every month, sometimes twice the same week. In fact, the Fulani herdsmen/ terrorists were very emboldened during the last dispensation which led to the total rejection of RUGA and the establishment of Ametokun. It is just that now they have moved down south and are currently sieging SW states. |
Irony1:Na hypocrisy be their bread and butter. |
fredoooooo:This is even worse than the South Africans who are demanding that businesses and organisations should sack all foreigners in their payroll and employ South Africans instead. But I'm sure you criticised South Africans for their xenophobia but here you are doing the exact same thing |
Codepain:There are Yorubas working as civil servants in the South east. |
saintkel:Tomorrow these same people will be criticising South Africans of xenophobia. |
YoungBlackRico:That's a lie! People never overlooked anything, it's been like this since independence. Awolowo was a well known tribalist same with Ahmedu Bello. |
Christistruth00:Tah! Shut up there, it has always been an issue for you people long before Onuakwulusi. I remember the story of a girl who was denied the opportunity to represent her school despite her father being Yoruba, but because her mother was Igbo They denied her that opportunity. I also remember the case that happened in this very Osun State where a boy who was of Igbo decent got the highest score in weac, the LG chairman celebrated him and that caused serious issues among the Yorubas who criticised the LG for not celebrating the second placed student who was omolabi. Did we also already forget how the Yorubas disenfranchised the electorates who weren't omolabi during the 2023 presidential and governorship elections? Even going as far as burning down their shops and livelihoods. Your tribalism did not start today so don't come her to pretend as if you're were saints before now. It's even funny you should be saying this when the presidents himself have favoured his tribesmen in the majority of appointments he's made. |
Parachoko:So why was he not disqualified in 2015? Btw he was only sworn into power once in 2011. |
lordm:They voted for him in his first tenure, second tenure he used State power as the incumbent to return himself, but the people waited for him in his senatorial ambition and voted against him massively. |
Freshtruth:There's not a single politician in South east that can influence votes in the presidential election against the general wishes of the people. Not even Ojukwu won South east When he contested under APGA, that zone went to Yar'Adua of PDP. Otti and Soludo will only do eye service for Tinubu at the podium and on newspapers but they can not influence votes for him. |
tosyne2much:It's very possible. I know a marriage that scattered within 1 year and 4 months, within that time frame wife don break husband laptop, burst him head with pot, lock him in the police station while demanding that he pays allowance to her siblings and mother. |
pocohantas:lol... That one even tried, I know a similar case of a marriage that lasted just 1 year and four months. In fact that marriage already hit rock bottom within one year , the only reason it lasted up to a year was because of the child they had. As soon as baby stopped breastfeeding the marriage scattered Kpata kpata. |
[quote author=thesolutions post=139373473]Producing a packet of those notes costs over 12,000 naira. It will be foolishness for them to continue producing those notes. only alternative right now is to either introduce higher denomination from 10,000 naira upward or to replace the naira completely. This is how you know those who don't know anything about economics. The only alternative is to reduce inflation, introducing a higher denomination would only worsen the inflation problem and retire the other lower denomination completely. Replacing the Naira will nuke the economy Kpata kpata |
Rilwayne001:As if the cost of fuel didn't already go up before the war in Iran. |
TAKE HIM TO A DERMATOLOGIST or A LABORATORY for test and diagnosis!!! Nairaland is NOT a medical centre . I don't know when you people will finally get this into your heads |
tayepop:The people I'm sharing country with 😞 |
Flangelo12:That and sponsoring proxy military groups like Hezbollah who attack Israel on Iran's behalf |
SmartPolician:OUK have belittled himself way too much to be in the consideration for Senate president. Let him continue licking ass in vain. Even sef e never sure for Uzodinma, he's not the only one harbouring the ambition, others in the senate are eyeing that post. |
seunmsg:None of you APC keyboard warriors mentioned NDC in any of your comments until Obi decamped to the party. Before all your comments were an attack on LP and Obi, then he left the party and went to ADC then afterwards no more LP attacks coming from you warriors, you now focused on ADC. Now that Obi has left that party you will now cool down on your ADC attacks and focus on NDC. This obsession on a particular individual is really unhealthy. |
hosemujica:But Tinubu's tribalism deserve second term abi |
Axis313:I swear! Those people are barbaric |
enemyofprogress:🤣🤣olodo |
spafu:My brother no vex but it is Albeit |
ViceGovernor:I am talking about DOB in BVN It was a mistake because I wasn't the only one who came to the bank to complain about the same issue, even a GTbank staff was having similar issues, and I didn't pay them a dime to rectify it, all I did was to provide my birth certificate and court affidavit ( which I got from the Anambra high court for ₦1,550) , I presented all these documents to them and in less than 4 days it was rectified. Why would they refuse to rectify the issue after you provided a valid court affidavit? Unless you're unaware that a court affidavit is all you need, they probably won't tell you that at the bank, but before any bank can effect that change They MUST get a court affidavit. If you want the bank to run it for you then be prepared to pay that hefty amount, but if you're enlightened on this things you just go to court and get it at a cheaper rate and bring it to the bank. |
efficiencie:You can sue and get a favourable judgement. under Nigerian law, particularly the statutes and judicial precedents in states like Lagos, you absolutely can sue your landlord for a drastic and arbitrary rent increase like this. An increase from ₦500,000 to ₦2,000,000 without your agreement is a unilateral action, which the law does not permit. The courts have clearly ruled that a landlord cannot impose a rent increase on a sitting tenant without their consent. The principle at the core of this issue is that a tenancy is a contract, and its fundamental terms cannot be changed by one party alone. A Unilateral Increase is an Offer, Not an Order: The leading case on this matter, Udih vs. Izedonmwen, established a powerful precedent. The court held that a landlord's attempt to increase rent without the tenant's agreement is simply "an offer, which the tenant is free to accept or reject". If you reject this "offer," the landlord must either accept the original rent or legally end the tenancy through the proper procedure. This principle is also enshrined in some state laws. For instance, Section 37 of the Tenancy Law of Lagos State, 2011, explicitly gives an existing tenant the right to apply to a court for an order declaring that a proposed rent increase is "unreasonable". A new bill further reinforcing these protections is also under consideration in Lagos. The court will examine specific factors to make a determination, such as the general level of rent for comparable properties in the same or a similar locality, any special circumstances or unique features of the property you occupy and evidence presented by both you and the landlord. A jump to 4 times the current rent is a prime candidate for a court to deem unreasonable unless the landlord can provide extremely compelling justification. It's just that the populace are very uneducated on their rights and would rather flee than fight (legally) when they're faced with these situations. |
remmydada:They shouldn't, otherwise what's the difference between you and the police man? You can't demand justice be served while still advocating for its abandonment |
Franking:I think there are special cases where the IG can skip protocol like this. |
Gotocourt:He will get either Life or death sentence. Luckily for him it's rare for governors to sign off on the execution of inmates on death row except the case is a high profile and emotionally charged one like the case of that policeman who killed a 41 years old pregnant lawyer on Christmas day at Ajah 4 years ago. The policeman was sentenced to death by hanging and has been executed. Although this one is looking like it's going to be just as emotionally charged as the Christmas day shooting, ASP Nuhu overstepped by a very wide margin. |
Themandator:i had similar experience with my BVN date of birth. I did my BVN with GTbank and somehow they made a mistake on my DOB data, I resolved it by getting a court affidavit which cost less than ₦2,000 , that was in 2015. |
