Politics › Re: Senate President Akpabio, Wife And Son Visit President Tinubu by GeneralPula: 4:08pm On Jun 13, 2023 |
tesppidd: Why is it that in Nigeria, when people get political appointments they pay thank you visits, they celebrate and they go for thanks giving.? Even their family members rejoice and thank God and tell their friends that they have hammered.
I thought getting positions was a call to service? Celebrating success is human being thing, not just a Nigeria thing.. |

danilho: You are right, but we cannot play with 11 home based players and expect the get the desired results. They have to mix them. I remember late Stephen Keshi had about five or six home based players in the squad that won Afcon in 2013. Exactly.. You get my point.. |

kush1000: *This was in 1947. About 76 years ago, the UK looked to Nigeria for assistance and support - where did we get it wrong?...😨🤔.* It should have been *How can Britain helps Britain* We were still under Britishness then! |
Politics › Re: UK Looking to Nigeria For Assistance And Support In 1947 by GeneralPula: 3:11pm On Jun 13, 2023 |
nairalanda1: The first republic was also massively corrupt, and also had a lot of issues with tribalism.
Yes, the coup should not have happened,(it was outright treason really), and the coup plotters were too idealistic to note that Nigerians, even during colonial times, look at things from a tribal view always (even today, someone gets sacked, it must be because he or she is from tribe X, not because of the real reason that he or she was not just good at their job). But to pretend the first republic was an idyll is wrong.
Also free education worked then because fewer people were in school then, so less money was needed then for schools. Once numbers exploded in government schools from 1976 when UPE was introduced, that was when standards started going down. You’re right bro, but the first republic was fairing better. As at then, corruption wasn’t very much romantic! |

SwissMass: That was before the first coup, that was majorly by Igbos Bro, this is where Nigeria main problem started.. At least before the coup; We’ve had free education set up.. Agro-base business which includes export.. Cocoa house was already in existence.. We’ve had a functioning media.. The Igbos coup did a alot of damage to Nigeria! It was a wound from the coup that penetrated to the civil war! |

If we're interested in a good national football team in Nigeria, then we need to start using home-based player, just like Egypt, Morocco etc are doing..
I've observed one thing about Nigeria players for a while now! When you see them playing at club side, they play with massive energy! But when you see them playing for super eagles, they play as if they were begged to come play!
Their are many rugged players in Nigeria leagues that can function very well! Any foreign based player that wanna feature into super eagles should fight for it! |
Politics › Re: Tinubu Does Not Betray Loyalists, When It’s His Turn, Umahi Will Be Supported by GeneralPula: 11:39am On Jun 13, 2023 |
LOVEALAIGBO: Umahi is being mocked and derided on this thread, and he totally deserves it! This is a man who left PDP (as bad as they are) and went to align with a worse anti-Igbo party with the 'excuse' that PDP wasn't treating Ndigbo fairly!
The grass always looks greener when viewed from the other side! But no one has mocked Umahi so far until you posted your comment? |

Ebubu2: Tinubu does not betray loyalists.
When it’s Umahi’s turn, he will be supported.
In 2038 presidential primaries, Umahi will clinch it.
He should keep being a good student of Tinubu politics.
He has thoroughly supported Akpabio’s emergence and moved the motion for emergence of the Deputy Senate President of Tinubu’s choice. You’re right OP.. This is why Igbos needs to stay by him! The man has played a good politics and he’s definitely going to have massive support when time comes! He’s also a performer! With Hope Uzodinma, Umahi, Soludo, I believe they can pull a force! |
Education › Re: ASUU, ASUP Express Doubts Over Student Loan by GeneralPula: 11:21am On Jun 13, 2023 |
amerengues: It's unfortunate everyone now has the space to comment unintelligent talks all in the name of freedom of speech.
ASUU fought that schools should be funded adequately and if that is done, there wouldn't be issues of strike and the rest. You all relegated them and abused them.
Now, tuition fees will be very high. Can the average downtrodden and rank and file of this nation afford #300,000 and above school fees?!
What exactly do you want ASUU to do?
The poor will suffer this development even though it's a very welcomed development to arrest incessant strike. Just know that when school fees skyrocket, don't blame ASUU. Truly, no where Education is free and cheap technically So what do you suggest? |

Politics › Re: Akpabio Wins Senate President Election by GeneralPula: 9:57am On Jun 13, 2023 |
nairalanda1: Headless mob aside, the South South is a PDP stronghold. Anyone defecting to APC there as at 2018 was taking a big big risk.(No, was basically committing political suicide). And for a while it looked like he had made a mistake...he could not win his state for APC, and just barely managed to hold on to his seat in the senate (even facing off internal challenges that looked like it would unseat him). Big risk, big win bro.. He fought and won like a typical Niger Delta! |
Politics › Re: Akpabio Wins Senate President Election by GeneralPula: 9:46am On Jun 13, 2023 |
nairalanda1: APC of course.

He worked against APC.
Never attended any of TINUBU campaigns just like Orji uzor kalu!
How many votes did he get sense? He had issues with Matawale and refused to let it slide! He worked against Matawale! He didn’t attended for real? But I thought Yari actually worked for Tinubu? |
Politics › Re: Akpabio Wins Senate President Election by GeneralPula: 9:32am On Jun 13, 2023 |
Okwyjesus: North is alone with Yari.
Am glad SE is with Tinubu choice. North too like power. Tinubu will cut them into size full stop North didn’t support any Yari. Yari visited Buhari and he told Yari straight not to go against party choice! They stood with Akpabio!
Yari been making mistakes for a while now! He had issues with Matawale and refused to let it slide! So, he worked against Matawale! Ever since then, Apc been sidelining him! He said he was never consulted before Apc endorsed Akpabio, why should they? |
