Insidenaija: Pastor of the Household of God Church International Ministries, Rev Chris Okotie, has described the late founder of The Synagogue, Church of all Nations, Prophet Temitope Balogun Joshua, better known as TB Joshua, as a magician who carried Bible around, Newspremises reports.
Recall that Okotie, who never hid his dislike for Joshua even while he was alive, had described T.B Joshua as the “Wizard at Endor”, shortly after his death in June.
In a video shared on social media on Sunday, August 8 titled ''The Truth about T.B Joshua'', Okotie described Joshua as a man who projected himself as another ''Jesus''. He said Joshua was a fake prophet who went about carrying a bible with him.
“Greetings in the name of the Lord Jesus. What is the truth about TB Joshua? Who was he? Was he a product of Christianity? Or a practitioner of shamanism? Was he a servant of the Lord Jesus? Or some itinerant religious quack? Was he a true prophet, who was misunderstood? Or a hypocrite masquerading under the habiliment of the Faith?” Okotie began
Anchoring his message on the Bible book of John 8 v 32: “…Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free”, Okotie began to examine the life of T.B Joshua whose name is Joshua.
“Joshua took that name because he believes he is another Jesus. He believes that God sent him to our world to bring reconciliation between God and mankind, exactly the same way the Lord Jesus was sent, and that is why he took that name Joshua,”he said.
Speaking on the identity of T.B Joshua, Okotie said the clergyman fulfilled the pattern of Bar-Jesus, a false prophet, and a sorcerer according to the Book of Acts, Chapter 13 v 6:
“He is a magician, a sorcerer and calls himself a prophet. Notice he doesn’t call himself an apostle, he doesn’t call himself a teacher, he doesn’t call himself a pastor because if he calls himself by any other name outside of prophet, he does not fulfill the pattern. So, he must stick with that appellation. He must call himself prophet so, so and so… So, he is a magician who claims to be a prophet but he is a false prophet…,” Okotie said
Okotie went further to say that T.B Joshua went about doing philanthropic work just so he can be like Jesus.
I thought our tech expert will come up with a sane social app..
Shame on all these computer this or that we have in Nigeria and Africa..
All computer courses in Africa should he scrapped as they’ve all failed woefully by not having any computer science or tech student to design a social App..
We were far more productive in 1980 than we are today
In 1980 the key reasons for economic growth were are as follows:
1) We were a net exporter of refined petroleum products. Today we import all our refined petroleum products.
2) We rode in locally assembled cars, buses and trucks. Peugeot cars in Kaduna and Volkswagen cars in Lagos.
Leyland in Ibadan and ANAMCO in Enugu produced our buses and trucks.
Steyr at Bauchi producing our Agricultural tractors.
And it was not just Assembly, we were producing many of the components.
Vono products in Lagos producing the seats.
Exide in Ibadan producing the batteries, not just for Nigeria but for the entire West Africa.
Isoglass and TSG in Ibadan producing the windshields.
Ferodo in Ibadan producing the brake pads and discs
Tyres produced by Dunlop in Lagos and Mitchelin in Portharcourt.
And I mean tyres produced from rubber plantations located in Ogun and Cross Rivers State.
3) We were listening to Radio and watching television sets assembled in Ibadan by Sanyo.
4) We were using refrigerators, freezers and Airconditioners produced by Thermocool and Debo.
5) We were putting on clothes produced from the UNTL textile mills in Kaduna and Chellarams in Lagos.
Not from imported cotton but from cotton grown in Nigeria.
6) Our water was running through pipes produced by Kwalipipe in Kano and Duraplast in Lagos .
7) Our toilets were fitted with WC produced at Kano and Abeokuta.
We were cooking with LPG gas stored inside gas cylinders produced at the NGC factory in Ibadan.
9) Our electricity was flowing through cables produced by the Nigerian wire and Cable, Ibadan, NOCACO in Kaduna and Kablemetal in Lagos and Portharcourt.
10) We had Bata and Lennards producing the shoes we were putting on
Not from imported leather but from locally tanned leather at Kaduna.
11) We were mainly flying our airways, the Nigeria Airways, to most places in the world.
The Airways was about the biggest in Africa at that time.
12) Most of the food we ate were being grown or produced in Nigeria.
We were producing all of the above and more in 1980
Today, we import almost everything.
There lies the source of the terrible exchange rate we are experiencing today and everybody reading this has a critical role to play in reversing this very UGLY trend.
We have been talking about these problems and more for ages...
It is not enough for us to complain about the exchange rate or point out what others are not doing or are failing to do, the key question is what are we producing or what are we planning to produce?
Going forward, it's time to ponder and think of the way forward before it's TOO LATE.
What solutions do you have in mind?
Present generation of government failed woefully. People that started Nigeria government meant well for the country until the wolves among them took over and jeopardize everything..
If you check Nigeria statistics from the moment PDP took over, you’ll see it’s been declining..
Failed citizens - Nigeria citizens have also failed it’s country.. How?
Different importing of foreign products which has reduced locally made products market value..
Nigerian prefers to ship fake things from China because they’re cheap. Go to the street of Lagos, it’s filled with fake things from China.. I always ask myself why Nigeria port do allow fake things into the country?
Solution...
If Nigeria wants to grow, Nigeria needs to stop importing things we have in production locally. Let majority of citizens purchase locally made product rather than foreign products..
Nigeria produces lace, Ankara etc - but these women are usually going over to Dubai, ignoring the locally made products. By this, Dubai economy will grow while Nigeria won’t move a inch..
Developed countries always try to avoid importing. They always want to export which is the way forward. A country with high export will grow fastly than a country that’s always importing..
Whatever that we’re producing in Nigeria, government should ban people from importing those things. Let the buying and selling be within Nigeria then you’ll see changes..

Blurpy: I think the behaviour of Nigerians in diaspora needs to be curtailed or rather we need to caution them often as they are bringing more problems to us. I don't get how some people will be lucky to get visa to a more developed country and go there to constitute nuisance and commit crime to earn a living, some of them even plan before hand to go and overstay their tourist or visit visa and become illegal immigrants.
This is all shades of wrong, we are doing more harm to ourselves as a nation, we should stop that. Some parts of Europe, Nigeria is synonymous with prostitution, while India, South Africa, Thailand etc, a Nigerian is being looked at as a potential drug dealer, other countries like Turkey, Ghana,UAE etc, the scammers there have done a very good job in giving us a bad name.
Recently, some Nigerians in Dubai engaged in cult clash taking human lives in the process which ended up getting a direct employment visa ban on Nigeria.
Ghana, on the other hand has visa free access to Singapore, Dubai, South Africa just to mention a few, while a Nigerian passport holder will have to go through a lot of cash and stress just to visit these places.
I know the country is bad and most people are looking to leave, we should not go to another country to commit crimes, we are only making this harder for ourselves, we will all be stuck here with nowhere to go.
There's no reasonable place a Nigerian passport can take you without visa, even amongst the visa free countries and visa on arrival countries, there's still a high chance of being sent back at the port of entry.
Imagine Nigerians having to wait for four to five months just to get a response from South African embassy here, same Africa oh, just response, not that it'll be approved oh.
Please we should be good ambassadors of our country, there are a lot of Nigerians doing fantastically well in various sectors as medical doctors, nurses , in academia as lecturers, engineers etc, let us not allow the bad deeds overshadow the good deeds.
You'll hardly hear of a Kenyan, a Senegalese etc being caught in a crime outside of their country. The pressure to make it big and fast then come back home to pepper others is a contributing factor! We can do other legitimate business and still make money.
Stop going to Ghana, Kenya, South Africa, Malaysia, Thailand, Turkey etc all in the name of collecting UPDATE to make it!. Please!
