Ah! |
Christino:Just tried it. My tongue didn't quite get that far. Only stopped at the groove inside of it. |
ikamefa:Yes, you. You know better than to ask, Ika. |
Get yourself in here. |
Rogo:OK. Let's do it this way. From your statement, the following is understood: 1. First Class is good in Nigeria, because 2. Nigeria is a certificate nation (whatever that means) 3. Therefore, first class matters a lot in Nigeria. The following is not stated, but implied: 1. First class is not good in all countries, 2. because not all countries are certificate nations and, 3. therefore it doesn't matter a lot in other countries. If this is right, can you please explain what you mean by "certificate nation", and how "the devil standing by your sides" has a bearing on your statement? Thank you. |
Thank you for an illuminating post, Christino. However, I would like to disagree with this: Christino:Not true. Origin. 1. Ancient man believed that his breath was also his soul or "essence of life." When God made man, he "breathed into his nostrils the breath of life." A rapid departure of that breath--a sneeze--is the same as expelling life from one's body. Also, it leaves a vacuum in the head which evil spirits can enter. 2. Roman citizens feared sneezing when a plague hit their city during the reign of Pope Gregory the Great. Since they regarded the sneeze as a sure sign of approaching sickness, Pope Gregory initiated the use of the phrase "God bless you" to shield sneezers from any ill effects. |
