horlarh02: In light of my previous post, which flagships are you guys using or can recommend?
Right now what I need in a phone is performance The rest of the features should be flagship standard. My eyes are on the Xiaomi 14 or 13. I need a smaller device. 6.67 inch displays are too big for me. |

horlarh02: GM here. I used to be a Redmi fan too. They offer better hardware at affordable prices but their software is terrible. My first redmi device was a Redmi 9t. It went into deadboot. At Raya they just formatted it and gave me back. I read here that year that it was a common issue with the model. So I bought a note 10 pro, The phone is great, I'm currently using it but it has frustrated me enough. I can't remember when it started but I started getting the system UI not responding popup I formatted it. Over the time I've downloaded every OTA and currently using the latest 14.0.8. The system UI not responding issue was recurring every time that if I don't press ok it will just keep coming back. When I click ok,the screen goes off and locks, then all the notifications that are already on the bar are resounded (can't really explain this part only someone who has experienced this knows what I'm saying). It was just frustrating the past 10months. Something I find interesting is that a friend bought the same product but from Amazon and has never had issues. But another bought a note 12pro here and is having similar issues. Oh I forgot to mention when connected to my earbuds playing music and a call comes I, after the call, the music starts playing on the top speaker and earbuds together. Meanwhile the friend who bought from Amazon never experienced this. It has led me to conclude that maybe there's an issue with the batches sent to Nigeria.
In all the experience and UI is great. I don't know if these issues occur in their top flagships but I've decided to leave the Xiaomi ecosystem. It was fun and bitter. RN10 Pro user only had that issue occasionally on 14.0.2 and I have seen it since then. My RN10 Pro is a normal global version. |

ibrash600: Good day boss. I recently changed my redmi note 10 pro screen, still working but the screen is not displaying like original screen. So I want to get new phone before the screen goes off again. Pls which xiaomi would you recommend?
Pls my budget is around 250 to 280k I doubt if the screen you got was Original. Ordinarily I would say you should increase your budget and get a Poco F5. But if this is what you can afford get a Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G not 4G because the Redmi note 12 Pro 4G = Redmi Note 10 Pro in a new skin |

SirNeroDee: Hello..
I've been switching between using my original charger and powerbank since I bought my Redmi 10c not upto a year ago. Recently, I have touchscreen problems when using the original adapter. If I use my original cord with a different adapter or powerbank the issues stops. Why is this happening? I last experienced this kind of thing when I was using Infinix phones which is a loooonnggg time ago and I've forgotten how to troubleshoot this issue
If my charger is now useless, where and how can I get an original charger? You can get quality chargers from Jboixxx. It doesn't necessarily have to be a Redmi charger. |

fuckboys: No single Xiaomi devices in 1st 18th, shows how low the quality of Xiaomi products have gone. What do we now say about iPhone 15 Pro Max that didn't make the list at all? That shows how low Apple's quality has come that their flagship device of 2023 didn't make the cut. If you don't know what the rating is about you had better not post. |

Runsboi: My Ogas wehdone oo, I'm so sorry cos I'm about to seek advice not related to Xiaomi, make una no vex abeg, I really need help and na the best place to get am be this.
My Samsung S10e went off since november and has refused to come on, I was on Whatsapp when it freezed then went off, it restarted and went off again, this pattern repeated for some time before it totally shut down and has refused to come on. I took it for repairs and after several checks, they couldn't detect what was wrong with it cos the battery and power ic are okay so they concluded it was the motherboard. I placed an order for the motherboard last month but it wasn't shipped, I was just recently refunded.
Thing is while I was waiting for my order to be shipped, i tried turning it on again and the phone came up, I even fully charged it and operated it for a while before the drama started again, going off and on till it stopped. So I don't know now if it's still the motherboard or something else entirely, make I no go waste money for motherboard and the issue still persist.
Engineers in the house, pls help Plug the phone, turn it on and see if it starts. If it comes on monitor to see if the restart persists. |

Incredible128: Sorry, my bad; I tend to mix them together , vivo and oppo have same parent company though; that aside, I searched, and it seems the flagship of Oppo i.e the find x6 pro can be gotten for cheaper than the s23 ultra Yes BBK Electronics. Vivo, Oppo and their children. As for the price I already said it to the guy earlier that Oppo flagships are priced reasonably the only problem is always availability. |
Phones › Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by genius43(m): 6:51am On Jan 07, 2024 |
Incredible128: For the Huawei, there are workarounds for the playstore thingy (you should know that as a non "tech noob" (no offense)) and if one is to compare flagships from theirs and other top brands, you would be surprised of their performance compared to their peers. Secondly , the oppo x100 pro's cheaper than the s23 ultra; and third, since we're not comparing market share and popularity of different smartphone brands, I still maintain that the Sony is still a strong contender, especially in the camera department (I think you should check reviews of the phone). Not everything's Samsung or iPhone, you should know that they do not excel in all departments, they have their strengths and weaknesses X100 Pro is for Vivo. Oppo is the Find X series. The upcoming Find X7 Ultra is their next flagship |

omasanbobo: Guy rest!
Huawei don chop us ban with no hope of ever coming back, their phones are useless outside China
Oppo flagships and midrange are even more over priced than Samsung and iPhones
As for Sony their are officially dead and buried for good
Maybe you taught i was some random tech noob you could bully but instead na me go bully you with facts Oppo midranges are overpriced but not their flagships. |

Gmajor: But how can 4gb be the wahala? The last redmi I used was redmi 7, a 3gb phone, and it didn't have any of the issues I'm facing now 4GB RAM is the new 2GB RAMs today's apps are hungrier than 4/5 years ago |
Phones › Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by genius43(m): 2:37pm On Jan 06, 2024 |
omasanbobo: Well for 450k you're getting a better software and 4 years of future update plus a better camera system
The problem with you guys is that you're too price sensitive and overly obsessed with specs on paper
That's why you see some people capping like they can't spend 1m on an iphone when they can easily get three xiaomi flagship with same amount Before you bring price nonsense to me. You need to know me first that price of a gadget is not my problem. Let me pause here for now. But trust me when to know something is overpriced. Value for money proposition is something you need to understand to avoid paying more for less in this technological world. As for your device outside this thread I can't remember if I have mentioned it here I have always advised people to stick to buying 6GB Ram as 6GB is now the new 4GB/3GB. 4GB RAM is the new 2GB RAM. Sometimes spend a little extra to get satisfaction. |

omasanbobo: Samsung A series better pass all this yeye budget redmi phones
If you no fit afford xiamoi flagships just settle for samsung a series or older iphones A series better is a lie. A series are heavily overpriced. And people buy base versions of Redmi and complain. How many people using Pro variants of Redmi Notes do you see complaining here day in day out. Redmi Note 10 Pro is still selling almost 3 years later. E get why. Though my next device will be a Xiaomi Mi series but if I ever have to go back to Samsung if I can't afford the S series I am not touching the overpriced A series. Why in the world will an A54 cost between 450-490k? |

Gmajor: I've noticed a pattern over the many years I've used Redmi phones.
The phones seems to get worse with every update. The issues that the phones has are never addressed, instead superficial changes are made that do not solve any existing problem and in some cases, creates issues of their own.
The devs at redmi always have this obsession with providing updates without actually finding out what customer are already asking for. So basically moving forward for the sake of moving forward. No meaningful direction in mind.
SMH. I've updated to hyper os on my note 12 and it's basically a theme that is almost 5gb in size.
The major issues I thought that will be adressesed like poor ram management will not adressesed. Instead, the file manger now looks ugly AF and the data counter is now microscopic. I just tire.
This is the last time I'll use a redmi phone. You are the only one with this complain using the Redmi Note 12. Just backup and do a restore as the issues have been cached up there like forever. But get an Samsung A55 next. |

ayomidan: This phone showed me shege, exact same problem I had 2 years ago, went to Carl care for repair but the price is at high side, the phone end up being a torch light at night before it fully packed up If you had taken it to Igemburg 2 years ago that issue wouldn't have cost up to 10k to fix. It is just an IC to be replaced and that is all. |
