Ghanians despite Nigerians
they no longer rent apartment to Nigerians

Our Yahoo Yahoo and Fraudsters brothers caused it bro. You need to see the way they behave here and the funniest thing is that majority of them are undocumented immigrants. Honestly, Ghanaians are naturally welcoming people but our folks "over sabi and laulau" brought about the recent cold altitudes from them citizens.

Good day OP, let me also make this little contribution........

1. There is no "Best" transport coy on the Lagos - Accra route. ABC, Chisco, Cross Country. Efex, Young Shall Grow, GUO, King Solomon's Chariots, Tudu Bmw, Circle sienna, etc Just pray that anyone you decide to board will be "best" for you that day because situations on the road changes everyday. if u board any of the registered coy, they will take care of passport stamping at the borders( mind u,there is an extra charge if your Passport is virgin). if you have time, you can still get vaccination card at Port health, MMIA the building before the toll gate, its #1000 or you pay the transport coy #500 and Ghc5 when returning.

2. Since you mentioned you will be attending an ICT training, you will probably be traveling with your laptop. pls make sure your system is clean of any fraudulent material, cos Ghana security operatives have started searching devices of young Nigerians right from Aflao, Dabala and Sogakope barriers since naija yahoo boys dey enter anyhow and refuse to use their senses.... many of them dey Nsawam right now.

3. You can search for hotels close to the venue of the said training and make reservations online( if the invitation excludes accommodation).

4. As at this morning the exchange rate in Hilla-codji (benin/togo border) is #1000 = Ghc12.40. its advisable to change money at Hilla-codji cos they often give better price if you know how to negotiate. the more you get closer to Accra, the less you get on your exchange. hold correct cash oooo Ghana is expensive!

Finally, make sure you make Nigeria proud in Accra both in the training and in extra-curriculum activities...Lol there are lots of fun to catch in Accra and pls if you like babes wella, not all the girls on the street of Accra are Ghanaians o naija gals don take over claiming land owners. so look out for the backside and the accent before you fall mugu tongue

baba mi
if i talk , someone will say i am talking jargons , even our leaders in Nigeria are continually daily pulling their families out of naija despite the fact that they have all billions to live a comfortable life in Nigeria , ironically someone who isnt up to their standards will now be saying naija is ok .
baba make i kuku just dey watch

Baba, make i add something small. Lots of our naija people believe living well all balls down to having millions. But then there is more to that. The truth is things are cheaper in naija compare to other African countries but how will you enjoy those things you buy cheap when you don't have clean portable water running from your tap without sinking a borehole, electricity without you fueling a generator set, free and quality basic education (at least for Primary and secondary school level), free or insurance supported healthcare, well constructed & pothole free roads and reliable, well behaved, well equipped, & non-abusive security system.
Why do you think the elites and the rich in naija always give their spouses and kids the privilege of dual citizenship? If its all about the money and cheap things, they already have more than enough but they know the difference when common social amenities are luxury in naija.

As for me, i have always entered naija my country as a foreigner since 2007. it wasn't even as worse as this then but what do i know.... SHALOM

Bro you are so on point. We 9ja are so loud and we intimidate our host with our attitude especially all this our young blood scattered all over GH. All the places I have been to while in GH like Tema, Accra, Kumasi, Takoradi etc what I heard about our guys from the locals I came accross in each of these cities was very disheartening. I pray God help us all. Although Ghanaians like us but hate our "get rich fast or die trying" attitude. Our 9ja boys blood too dey boil for money. And it's really affecting honest 9jerians trying to earn a better living in GH. I know all sort of discrimination I faced for being a 9jerian. Even in the house and church , once they noticed your spoken English and you can not communicate in Twi they will take you for a criminal and they will be watching all your moves despite the fact that you are a legit person and you earn an honest living.
Bro no be small thing o, If not for the grace and intervention of God, i would have been sacked from the service in 2014. someone in church introduced one young naija man to me that he needs to regulate his residency so that he can setup his business, i gave him my number and ask his to come over to the office so i can take him to headquarters to help fecilitate and speedup his application. This guy got to our office reception and was trying to avoid the normal security checks claiming his brother(Me o) is a boss there. one of our sectional head got to the reception and intervened cos the guy was lousy and asked who is that his brother he wants to see, then he mentioned my name. hmmm, me wey nobody knw sey i be cross breed half naija and i was a 2-i-c in a very sensitive section of the service that year. i went for positive vetting more than five times within three weeks and i end up getting transferred just to save my neck.
since that time, i never dey do mistake open mouth speak naija pigin talk less of yoruba or igbo wey i sabi wella for public place again. i dey enter Tudu go send things to naija but none of the people there get inch idea say i carry naija blood.

And i mean girls btw age 20 - 25. most of them tell peeps back home that they are students pursuing degree programmes in private tertairy institutions here but all na wash. they are 24/7 love peddlers. gone are those days Gh guys always beef naija guys(mostly students) here cos naija guys were always using swag and levels to snatch the Gh babes. Now, the Gh guys are nacking naija girls with reckless abandon... Cos dem don plenty for town. no more shakara
Whenever i get to see reports in our office about all these, i weep bitterly inward.

So these people still took this business to Ghana. That's serious.
Hmmm, not only the guys o. i can authoritatively confirm to you that naija girls are more than 70% of all the runs and olosho girls in Ghana. especially Accra, kumasi and Tarkoradi. they have made hotels that were on the verge of running out of business for lack of patronage now bubbling cos they are lodged there and they pay weekly rents. God save Nigeria!

people were looking at them and even one security man in d shop said something in twi that "this nigerians have turned ghana to sakawa hub, they are so full of themselves and don't respect we the citizens anymore"

the rate at which my 9ja brothers are robbing in Accra and Kasoa since the beginning of last month is just alarming. not lest than 3 robberies every week and the most annoying thing is they speak either yoruba or igbo live at the robbery scene( there are video evidences). Even that Lebanese man that was robbed and killed earlier this week at Tema was a victim of the 9ja boys cos you could hear the robbers speaking yoruba whiles shooting in the clip. this will affect the acceptance of nigerians into Ghana soonest cos a move is already in place. you need to see how soldiers are patrolling accra since on monday as if there is riot in accra.
Travel / Re: Relocating To Ghana by gentlebullet(m): 6:24pm On Mar 02, 2018
Am not here to discourage you about your plans to relocate to Ghana. Ghana is a very peaceful country, basic amenities are available and the citizens are very friendly and homely. As at this morning, there is a very serious issue that is of national interest to the govt and security operatives that might end up getting many Nigerian residents in Ghana been clamp down for deportation.
since the beginning of Feb there have been not less than 3 robbery incidents every week happening in Accra and all the evidences and those unlucky robbers arrested have unfortunately been Nigerians. this week alone, a Lebanese was kill and his money taken from him, yesterday two robbery took place and videos shows the robbers were Nigerians.
i can authoritatively tell you that from next week, the Ghanaian parliament will pass into law the bill to start deportation of Nigerian residents who are not well documented to proof they are either business owners, students in tertiary institutions and employees. i was also privileged to see a memo this morning that signals the border patrol units of GIS, CEPS, GPS, GA and BNI to start technical profiling of intended nigerian immigrates at both Aflao and Joje borders of the volta region.
If you still really want to try your luck, my advice is make sure you have your passport, other national ID like drivers license, voters ID, and also your personal ID if you are a professional. i know very well that getting a job here is not assured cos there are lots of unemployed citizens here too so your best bet is to come set up a biz or trade and you will need to prove you have the funds to do that at the border if all the proposed regulations takes effect soon.

I will like to share my view about living in GH. am a staff at the ECOWAS commission( immigration section) so this makes me do a lot of traveling within the subregion but I choose Ghana (cape coast precisely) to settle my family (wife, kids&young bro) in based on lots of personal factors. I see Ghana as the ideal anglophone state in the region to live in. mind you, the country also has its own down sides but its far better than my fatherland NAIJA ! from security of lives & properties, to access to basic social amenities and standard of education not forgetting enjoying good social life without the fear of been harassed.
The honest truth is that cost of living in Ghana generally is higher than naija. rent is expensive, cost of petrol (diesel, LPG inclusive)is higher, food is also expensive, cost of utilities are up lately( but you get to use them 24/7). since my family moved to our house, my wife has never complained of taps not running for a day since 2012(water supply by govt outfit) neither have I witness any. when it rains, the lights are never off excepts when it comes with wind storms and after the storm, light is restored. if there is gonna be maintenance on the mains, there will be announcement from the information centres to the communities that will be affected.

I get to drive all night from cape coast to tamale and further north to navrogo without fear of attack on smooth roads.
As for op, you took a good decision to try experience a new country but in a wrong way. I will explain in my next post.
I got to leave the office now and attend a dinner and grand ball events at Novotel hotels just 2 streets away from the office here in Freetown.

well, stuffs are cheaper in Lome than Cotonou. if you are a young man with confirm naija hustling spirit (not ajebo-butter wey get sponsored by some polithiefian), abeg forget ABC transport, Chisco, Young shall grow, Efex, GUO, Cross country, etc ( you go just pay for AC, rice, water) cos their fare from Lagos to Lome is between 12k - 16k( depending on the type of ID you present)
my guy just find your way to either mile 2 or iyana iba, board a bus going to seme and alight at the last stop close to the border. look out for okada riders with green tops(Hausa guys are your best bet) and ask the rider to show you his cards(small plastic cards cut to sizes wit no, that's their pass at the numerous road blocks).negotiate the fare(#500 - #700)
just make sure you secure your money well. well you get to the Benin side of the border, go change your money close to the bank of Africa (lots of money changers are there with their table, the women will be your best bet) rate as at 9th sept when I was heading to Abidjan was #631 = CFA1000.
after forex, enter the garage beside where you did forex and ask for car going to Lome-Aflao(infact, once you alight from the bike there are lots of drivers who will bombard you with their routes.so getting the car isn't a prob) the fare is CFA 7000(collect ticket once you pay) the car takes one in the front and three at the back.
let me remind you that you will cross the border at Hilla-kodji. you will alight from the car once you get to the border and you will cross the border on foot with other travelers. just follow your travelling partners to the check post and hand the immigration CFA 500 on the Benin side, then you walk to the Togo side.
first, you pass through the port health just give them CFA 300 and proceed to immigration and also give CFA 500 and you are done. nobody will harass you just be wary of those guys selling all manner of items make them no do you strong thing. after walking through the border post, there is a garage few metres ahead of you that is where the car will be waiting, so just go there and locate the car and board to continue your trip. once you get into Lome, you will know first you see the port, ecobank head office, etc. just tell the driver to drop you at the lome market . from there you take bike inside and ask for the part that sells the wares you want to buy.

coming back with your goods is when you need the transport coys. just locate any of their office in Lome, negotiate the price for cargo of goods only to Lagos, sort that and take a bike to Lagos garage. its the same fare back to seme CFA 7000 and the sa
me procedure at the border. you get home and go for your goods at the office of any coy that help you cargo.
am not a trader on this route but I ply this route at least twice in a month and If am not driving, this the way I go and I have met alot of traders I sometimes travel with the ones that are now friends with me whenever my trip conceded with theirs ( when am driving) good luck.

There Are no cheap hotels in Accra single rooms with shared bath 90ghc not good
it depends on the part of Accra u wanna lodge. I know of bed space with shared bath & toilet in Accra that goes for Ghc7 per nite. there are hotels rooms with ac for Ghc 35, 45, 50, 60 per day in asylum down, kanda, mamprobi, kaneshie north, odorkor, mallam junction, weija, nugua, tieshie. just do your search well. if you ask a taxi driver to take u to a moderate hotel in Accra, for the fact that you are a Nigerian he believes u are loaded and mind u, for every guest an Accra taxi driver introduce to any hotel, he gets a % of the room rate so he will definitely take you to one that's pay higher %. as I type right now, am in busua beach resort, busua in western region 3 hours away from elubo border. I just got in from Abidjan last note.

Efex is not okay oh their service is poor

cos when u boarded Efex, the bus didn't leave Lagos earlier than u anticipated, the driver having to stop frequently during the trip and delays at the borders doesn't mean their service is poor. if u have been a regular traveler on the west African route u will understand that trips do come with different challenges day by day. I have traveled Lagos to Accra over the years for an average of 16 times yearly since 2006 till date and I patronised transport coys until 2015 before I started driving myself to and from GH. so far, I can recommend Efex, young shall grow, Solomons chariots, and Guo motors ahead of ABC, cross country, chisco, and the rest.

Don't waste cash hiring a car from lag to cotonou. just go to mile 2 or iyana iba and board one of those cars plying cotonou if you don't want to cross border on foot like real naija guy.
As for apartment, i can recommend HOTEL DES NATION at Akpakpa, they have 1,2&3 bedrooms serviced apartments apart from the normal hotel rooms and their service is okay.
